It was delicate, elegant, and genuinely delicious--the flavours were well balanced, and you could tell there was a lot of care put into making it. I definitely wasn't disappointed. That said, it is on the expensive side, so I did find myself expecting a little more flexibility with the service. In particular, I was surprised that they couldn't accommodate a simple name plate on the cake. For a cake at this price point, it seems like a fairly reasonable request, especially when other bakeries offer this on less expensive cakes. The pickup process itself was fine, but keep in mind that pre-orders need to be placed quite a few days in advance, so this isn't really a last-minute cake option. One other practical note: if you're ordering during the summer, make sure you get it into the fridge as soon as possible after pickup. The tiramisu is quite delicate and doesn't hold up well sitting out in the heat. Overall, a beautiful and delicious cake that I would happily have again, although the price and some of the ordering limitations are worth keeping in mind.

We went Sunday around 11 and it's clearly a fan fave of the neighborhood. Seats outside were taken and inside was just as busy. The interior is beautiful, with different shades of beige, I love their little grocery corner where you can buy you're own sourdough starter, Pizza dough, wine or books all about bread. The line up went quick and we got the veggie sando, a potato galette and of course the olive loaf to go. For drinks we got a cardamon laté and hibiscus lemonade. Everything was delicious - the sando had fresh mozza, eggplant, tomato and spinach on fresh focaccia. The potato galette was savoury and oniony and we took the olive loaf home and devoured it in 24 hours. This is the freshest baked loaf I've had in Vancouver. I was so tempted to also get a cinnamon bun because damn the icing was so thick and the bun looked so soft but I decided that was for another time. It isn't cheap though so keep that in mind! The flaky pastry with cheese I saved and warmed up for breakfast with my daughter the next day. A bit of Google searching has told that those flaky pastries are Cheese Pitas. It's a mix of feta and cottage cheese inside. Always a gamble with Too Good to Go. I probably wouldn't have ever thought to order these foods if I'd walked into the shop and ordered regular price. I see that as a plus though, not a minus. I kinda like trying things I wouldn't normally think to try. The pastry on both the croissant and cheese pita were both very flaky. I still prefer the sweets here over the savory items but the savory items are pretty good too. If you like flaky pastries, this is a pretty good place for that!
