Person making loud hammering noises at 7:00 am

They could warn us about sawing and repairs in the early hours of the morning instead of us waking up to sawing wood and paint scraping and hammering. Rude front desk person.

This place actually gets a 4 1/2 stars from me. The building itself isn't like a normal hotel style it's more like a B&B, it's really beautiful. The fireplace is the best amenity in the room. The bed is big and comfortable as well. There's a nice little nook in the corner you can lay on in the window. The service was great. I wasn't able to make it on my first night and I was passed the cancellation time and they accommodated me anyways and didn't charge me for the first night stay. The location is literally near everything downtown walking distance. They have cable I'm not going to give this place any "cons" but I do have a few suggestions for the hotel. #1 they could have more breakfast options #2 they need a hair dryer #new doors for the bathrooms for privacy

Heated tile floors something I didn't know I needed

We really enjoyed it here. The room is clean and roomy. The sunken bathtub and heated floors are great. I love the surround sounds white noise. The man at the front was really friendly and helpful. Quiet, quaint and charming, walking distance to everything. We walked to Lovain for dinner and had a great stay!

This hotel is my new favorite place to stay while visiting Calistoga. I can't say enough good things about this charming hotel. The Bergson is a rustic, quaint, cozy, amenity filled hotel. From the Le Occitane bathroom and shower supplies to the warm feather bed and delicious continental breakfast which had a wonderful balance of warm and cold food selections to choose from. We loved that the downtown restaurants were super walkable from The Bergson. This hotel is a perfect quintessential gem. We looked forward to our return to our room after a day of wine tasting and dining. I look forward to booking my next stay at The Bergson.

Ants, mold and no bottled water. I was quite disappointed in the service and overall what you get for the amount of money you are charged. Our room had ants and mold in the bathroom. Mold around the sink. There was no bottled water in the rooms for guests (whether free or to buy). Moreover there was not a small store to buy incidental or drinks.lobby was nice with a huge fireplace. With ants in the room I didn't want to eat their breakfast because I figured ants would be in other places throughout the hotel. Fireplaces, although nice, doesn't heat the room. Every room should have a king size bed rather thank a queen.

From the moment we arrived, Brent and Chris made us feel like old friends coming home. The evening wine and cheese hour was such a treat. Local wines, great cheeses, and friendly conversation with other guests created this wonderful sense of community. And breakfast? Out of this world. Perfectly fluffy beignets, a croque madame baked in a delicate crepe, and berries tossed in a spiced wine syrup with cinnamon and star anise. It honestly rivaled any restaurant brunch I've ever had. The big wraparound porch was our favorite spot to relax, whether sipping morning coffee or enjoying a glass of wine at sunset. The location is ideal too, right in downtown Calistoga but still incredibly quiet and peaceful at night. Every detail here feels thoughtful, and every interaction genuine. You arrive as guests, but you really do leave as friends.

As soon as we arrived, as we were getting out of our car, we were greeted by name by Chris, one of the two owners. He was so welcoming and friendly! He gave us a quick tour and helped us figure out how to use the Keurig. It was close enough to 5pm, so he whisked us away to the beautiful wrap around porch for the daily wine and cheese social. There we met Brent, his partner, who was equally as charming and funny. They were magnificent hosts throughout our stay! We only wish we had stayed on a weekend so that we could enjoy the luxurious brunch we had seen in photos. However, since we woke up on a weekday, we each received a $25 breakfast voucher to use at one of 3 local eateries. We opted for Bella Bakery on Lincoln. Thanks for the rec, Brent! It did not disappoint and those vouchers were plentiful. I also really appreciated the little details, like the complimentary water, the snack bags for the next day, and the toiletries in our bathroom. Thank you for making our first experience at a B&B a wonderful one! We will absolutely be recommending this B&B to our friends and family!

Solage is nestled right on the Silverado Trail in the heart of Calistoga, and the location is unbeatable--you're basically three minutes from downtown and a short, scenic drive from St. Helena and Yountville. The property itself is stunning. It's got that modern wine-country vibe with about 100 detached studios spread across 20-plus acres. When you're sitting in one of the natural hot spring pools or hitting the cold dips at the spa, it really does feel like world-class luxury. Between the mud slides, the gravity chairs, and the fitness classes, you can easily spend your whole trip without leaving the gates. The Food: Solbar is a must. We had the seven-course New Year's Eve prix fixe with wine pairings over numerous years, and each were equally unique and incredible. It's that perfect balance of farm-to-table "health" food and total comfort dishes. For something more low-key, Picobar by the pool has some of the best Baja-style tacos I've had in NorCal. Plus, the whole place is super dog-friendly, which is a huge win for us. The Experience & Pro-Tip: Definitely book through AmEx Platinum if you can. We used the Fine Hotels + Resorts program and snagged a $300 credit, a late 4 p.m. checkout, and an automatic upgrade. I will say, even "perfect" places have their off moments. This year, despite requesting a room close to the spa months in advance (and confirming twice), they initially tucked us away at the far edge of the property. I wasn't thrilled about hiking across 22 acres in my robe and sandals! I spoke with the front desk, and the concierge actually went back and reviewed my recorded calls to verify the request. They did move us about 30 minutes later to a spot half the distance away, though it lacked the private fenced patio and fireplace of our original booking. I was too tired to keep fighting it and just wanted to get to the spa, so I settled in. Despite that hiccup, the service and the atmosphere here remain some of the best in the world. It's not cheap, but for the memories and the access to Napa's best vineyards, it's worth it every time. Can't wait to be back next year.

Compared to Stanly, the rates for rooms were more expensive while I felt the Stanly offered a much better campus. Despite the comments about the campus, the food onsite was pretty good and the reviews will be posted in their respective pages. The room service could have been better as they missed delivery of the pre-ordered breakfast in the morning as the night shift didn't properly fill in the order request and didn't get placed, but the team quickly remedied the situation and delivered not too long after our original request time. The rooms were comfy with a good layout, but the garden out back were covered with fences and it didn't feel as freeing as Stanly Ranch's rooms where the back patio is uncovered. Overall, I'd visit Stanly or Auberge du Soleil when going back to the Napa area.

The hotel is over 100 years old and it's maturity is part of its charm. There was some work being performed in a guestroom on the 2nd floor but they worked on it for short periods every day. Love the strategy. There is no insulation on guestroom doors so it's easy to hear conversations and heavy slamming doors. There is no elevator so the 2nd floor doesn't appear to be Accessible. There are rooms on the 1st level however. The jacuzzi was wonderful and hot Tuesday morning but lukewarm on Thursday morning. Front desk staff state every now and then a guest inadvertently turns it off, and did so Wednesday night by pressing the Emergency button (instead of the timer for the jets). Bummer. It took hours for it to reheat. Maybe a sign for the jets could discourage that from happening again. Check In & Staff: Male staff were friendly and helpful - especially Manny!! The hotel does have a luggage cart but it won't help those staying on the 2nd floor since there is no elevator. However 2 of the guys volunteered to follow me outside to the car to retrieve my luggage. Soooo much appreciated! They not only carried them upstairs to my room but came back to carry them again when I relocated to a different room. They wouldn't even except a tip! Thanks guys! My heros. Other staff: The female staff at the front desk wasn't as friendly but maybe she had an off couple days. No eye contact, acknowledgement, or smile. She did engage however when spoken to. All other staff - housekeeping (especially), maintenance, painters, etc., were genuinely friendly and helpful. It made my stay relaxing which was much needed! Thanks again. Breakfast: Staff prepare a daily breakfast tray that's delivered to each room at your preferred time. Breakfast consisted of FRESH and DELICIOUS breads, lemon cake, a tangerine, and a warm pot of mild-blend coffee. Room: Towels were fluffy, soft, good-smelling, and appeared new! The linen and robes were fresh and clean. The room was well furnished and the environment inviting. The bed was on the firm side but was very comfortable. I had to remember not to sit on the edge too long though because the ribbing on the edge of the mattress hurt. There was no bottled water in the room but there was a carafe to be filled with ice/water at the Hydration Station located on the 1st floor. It would have been nice to have a Station upstairs too or bottles of water for upstairs guests. Having a mini fridge and safe in the room was a nice touch. A microwave somewhere for guests (use) would have been nice for reheating leftovers. Window screens would have been nice to enjoy fresh air in the room without bugs. Bathtub stopper should probably be replaced because it was old, discolored, and soiled. Bathroom walls could use a little touch-up paint but none of those issues were big deal breakers for me. The things that could have definitely been better in the room were the loud bathroom fan (and the inability to turn it off independently from the light switch) and the hum from the mini fridge. The fridge clicks on/off 24/7, and at night when its quiet the hum is annoying. Glad I brought adapters for electronics since there are standard electrical outlets only, and no place to plug in USB cords. Check Out: Payment for your room is deducted from your credit card at the beginning of your stay when you check in. To check out you can drop your room keys in the box at the front desk. I chose to wait (10 minutes) for staff to return to the desk for a receipt. Value: I didn't visit the hotel spa this visit. However even with the Spring Special the hotel seems a bit overpriced, and without the spa is probably closer to a 3-star hotel. Caveat though is that everything in Calistoga appears to be overpriced - after all it's a resort town. Love the peace and tranquility though. Overall a really nice stay and I definitely recommend.

I booked our room (initially for checking in on December 19 and checking out on December 21) directly via their website, paying a $233.27 deposit, but after reviewing the Reservation Confirmation, had to reach out to the team because the 15% AAA discount off of the $225/night rate was erroneously calculating to $202.50/night instead of $191.25/night. Guest Services confirmed that there was a glitch in their system and they quickly corrected the error. A couple of days later, I reached out again to request to move our stay dates. The request was granted without issue. HOTEL: Mount View Hotel and Spa is a Mission Revival style boutique hotel and historical Landmark nestled in the heart of Calistoga. No onsite parking lot; however, we were able to easily find free parking nearby. Upon entry, visitors are greeted by the warmth of the inviting lobby and vibrance from its eccentric interiors. With peppy Art Deco décor and furnishings, the inn boasts a charming ambiance that takes guests back to the 1920's and 1930's era. We stayed on the second floor in Room 221, a chic bedchamber with nods to the early 20th century, furnished with a high-quality, comfortable bed, flat-screen television, espresso machine, fridge, and glassware for self-catering. HOTEL SERVICE: The front desk staff, especially Manny, was extremely friendly and helpful. One night, when I couldn't find unmetered parking, Manny assured me that parking overnight in the metered spaces along the front of the hotel on Lincoln Avenue would not trigger a citation, even during the metered times. Seeing that I was apprehensive to do this, he promised to cover the cost of a parking ticket, if I would receive one. He was right; the timed metered parking was not enforced the next day. The complimentary light coffeehouse-style continental breakfast with fresh coffee, tea, fruit, juice and pastries, delivered directly to our room each morning was also very nice. TRUE SPA CALISTOGA: The whimsical accoutrements continue in the spa. No showers, but small, private lockers with robes and slippers are assigned to each patron. Since we were staying at a spa hotel, we booked appointments for restorative spa experiences, for Thursday, the 22nd, at 2:00 PM. It was very convenient to stumble downstairs for facials and revitalizing body treatments + massages. Our appointments were for the Detox + Glow (90MIN) (BODY THERAPIES) package, a relaxing combination of upper body massage (neck, arms, and shoulders) paired with a facial focus using Blue Beautifly Organic Skincare alongside the Bentonite Clay Mud Mask to nourish the body and skin head to toe. 90 minutes for $280 included a fully body massage. I was assigned to technician Rosa Cisneros who was very nice. The sessions were soothing and relaxing; however, Mom and I were confused at the conclusion, thinking that we were still to receive a full body mud mask or wrap, as per the description of the Detox + Glow package. Due to no mud mask, we were given a 15% discount. VERDICT: Mount View Hotel & Spa is a charming establishment and perfect place to slow down time and enjoy a respite.

Because of that history, I never expected to be treated this way. We experienced a genuine family emergency that forced us to leave early and requested a refund for our unused Sunday and Monday nights. These were weekday nights not a weekend or holiday, and the hotel kept 100% of the charges for both nights despite us not being there. What made the situation even worse was the amount of time we had to spend going back and forth during an already stressful family emergency. The front desk staff repeatedly told us they understood and agreed a refund was appropriate, but the owner instructed them not to issue one. For several days, staff members seemed confused about the situation, while the owner/manager refused to respond to phone calls or text messages. We were left waiting, following up repeatedly, and receiving no direct communication from the person making the decision. I understand businesses have cancellation policies, but there should also be room for compassion and reasonable discretion, especially for LOYAL, repeat guests who have spent thousands of dollars over the years and have personally referred many others to stay here. Unfortunately, this experience erased years of goodwill. Customer service is tested when something unexpected happens, and this hotel failed that test. We will NEVER stay here again, and after this experience, I can no longer recommend it to friends, family, or clients. What a HUGE disappointment Cottage Grove. Unfortunately, the front desk staff made what should have been a special weekend start on a very disappointing note. I want to be clear that this review is not about being denied an early check-in. We understand hotels have check-in policies and that rooms may not always be available. The issue was the way we were treated. Several members of our group arrived throughout the morning and politely asked whether any rooms were available. The front desk staff was consistently unfriendly, dismissive, and unhelpful. We received short responses, no greeting when entering the lobby, no estimate of when rooms might be available, and no indication that anyone was making an effort to accommodate a large group that had traveled to the property. That day was 102 degrees and the front desk did not even offer to hold our luggage or coolers while rooms were being cleaned. No friendly accommodations for a group of 34 with many luggage's is wild. What made the situation more frustrating was that staff near the rooms later confirmed that room had already been inspected and was ready. When I returned to the front desk to ask about it, the response was defensive and argumentative rather than helpful or welcoming. Throughout the morning, multiple members of our group had similar experiences with the front desk staff. It created a poor first impression and put a damper on the start of our vacation. For a group that large sending a large amount I would expect a better welcoming experience as they would want us to return and continue to get our business. That said, the housekeeping and grounds staff were wonderful. They were friendly, hardworking, and clearly took pride in their work. The property itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and the hot springs remain a great attraction. Our family has been visiting this property for many years, which is why this experience was so disappointing. The resort deserves better front-line hospitality than what we experienced during this stay.
