Adored this dining experience! Upon entering we were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and were shown to our table. I noticed they adhere to some old school standards you wouldn't expect at a restaurant of this type. Our hostess sat us and said, "Your server, Meghan will be right with you." Love that! Back in the dark ages this is how I was trained at my first restaurant job. Let your customer know the name of their server, attention to detail...Love it! Meghan came out almost immediately even though they were quite busy. She brought the cute mini carafe of coffee with two mugs. Asked if we'd like coffee and after placing our mugs ASKED if she could fill them. Overall a level of service you'd expect from a fine dining establishment. If Meghan lived in my state I'd be trying to lure her to work for me! She was so friendly and knowledgeable, and provided outstanding service and suggestions! At her suggestion we tried the strawberry shortcake bonut. A fresh biscuit fried, dusted with sugar and topped with strawberries and whipped cream. I'm going to be thinking about that bonut for a long long time! Life changing experience! Sometimes someone creates something that makes the world a better place! Chefs ! Perfection. I'd describe the flavor as a summer day at the fair. GOOD COFFEE! After finishing our bonut, our meals arrived quite quickly. I ordered the country fried steak with scrambled eggs and potatoes. I stuffed myself like a little piggy! I am not someone who does that. It was so crispy, hot and still moist inside. Crispy potatoes done to perfection! Fluffy scrambled eggs. Tasty country gravy. My husband order the eggs Benedict. While very well done, he's a purist and wasn't crazy about the hollandaise sauce. I loved it , but I never order Benedict. It has a very strong lemon note which I enjoyed but he did not. He didn't hate it, but I might include a note on the menu about the flavor. ‍ just a humble suggestion My son ordered the Dark side pancakes, served with scrambled eggs, sausage patties and the potatoes. Stand out here was the sausage patties. Clearly hand pattied, perfectly crisp on the outside without being dried out. Meghan was very attentive without being intrusive. Something I very much appreciate in a server. Some little things I noticed while dining: Clearly attention to detail is a standard in this restaurant: Meghan always asked if she could take our plates When leaving the kitchen I noticed a server wiping his feet on the rug =cleaner floors My son ordered a specialty soda and when offering a refill her phrasing was, "Charge you for another orange dream-sickle?" $$ Nice! When we were finished and had already paid the bill Meghan asked if we'd like coffee to go. And brought us out two nice sized to go's of coffee. We were traveling back home to Indiana and that saved us a trip through a coffee chain! Again I left feeling loved and full! Hats off to this establishment! Attention to detail and outstanding, high quality service along with delightful food. Great Job!! Do yourself a favor, at least go try the strawberry bonut. We weren't planning on coming back to Kansas City until the fall, but I don't know if I can make it that long without the taste of a perfect day at a summer fair. read more

Just want to say this place was amazing. From the warm friendly greeting to the amazing waitress that I had when I was sitting at the "counter area/bar area". She was super friendly and sweet. She was a huge KC Chiefs dan and I admire her for her motivation because the Chiefs were playing tonight. Everything looked so organized and the menus were placed and ready for me to browse. Ordered the full biscuits and gravy thinking it would be like everywhere else but I WAS TOTALLY WRONG!! I'm a huge foodie but this order was HUGE!! It was awesome!! I also got the loaded and ladled potatoes and that was a treat. The biscuits were huge but baked perfectly and the sausage gravy...I could have taken a straw to it!!! For the potatoes...I ate them the way they were served and I thought it would have been insulting if I would have put ketchup on them so I didn't want to look like I was not from around the area, so I didn't... I love the food and service. As an African American, I am insulted by the fact, that although there are many interesting historical pictures throughout the Resturant, not one of African Americans. I googled "Black history in Liberty Mo" and found lots of stories and pictures. Most White people wouldn't notice. It's as if we didn't exist in those times, or we are not important enough now to be seen. I mentioned this to the manager and he initially chuckled. Came here to escape the Super Bowl parade madness, I normally go to a different location but I was afraid I was going to have to wait forever. I ordered an orange juice 6/10. It tasted like it was previously frozen. My go to here is the Ranch Hand skillet, when it's cooked it's a 10/10 this time around not so much. They had to remake it twice, and it was still was not correct. It was barely any steak in the skillet and some way somehow the potatoes were cold. I was so annoyed at this point I just paid for my food and left. I will continue to go to my normal location where I never come across these issues. Look im normally known for taking places to task for messing things up but I have eaten at many a Big Biscuit and always been happy with it... I'm really only leaving this review because my daughter got her chocolate chip pancakes and said "I can't eat it, it's a Work of art" so well done, applause all the way around. We love this place. Been coming here for years now since we moved back. We take my mom here for breakfast on weekends. They have the best service and fresh breakfast with a lot of variety. Plus lunch foods available also. We have tried just about everything from Eggs Benedict, omelettes, their signature biscuits and gravy to BLTs. All very good. Just have to call out the wonderful table service we get at this location. Very sweet, courteous and helpful! We drive over from Platte Woods to go to this location because of this. The one near us is good just hard to get in and uncomfortable in all comparison. We use the check in online via the yelp app which is very reliable and timely. Great start of your day. read more

Came here on a Saturday around lunch time. Wasn't crowded at all. No wait. I was kind of surprised. But I love this place. The portions are HUGE. The menu is also huge. So so so many choices. All the brunch you can imagine. And a variety of bottomless drinks. If you get the biscuit as your side, it is BIGGGG!!! Lol. The food tasted amazing as well. I had the Del Rio omelette. Server was slow to come get drinks orders, food orders, and bring the tab. I've been to many of the BB locations around the metro, and they're, by and large, good. Try one other than the Liberty one unless you have a couple hours free for breakfast or brunch. read more

We've been in Kansas City since Easter and are slowly working our way through a long list of restaurants to try. We recently got a chance to have a late breakfast at The Big Biscuit with family. We found a large space and only a few diners so we were seated immediately. Our server was Lyndsay. She was very personable, helpful, and not at all shy about sharing her opinions as to menu items which I appreciated. I wound up deciding on the chicken fried steak and eggs over easy with sourdough. It was perfection and delish most certainly applies. The gravy was particularly outstanding - not too thick and full of sausage. Lyndsay recommended a Bonut (a biscuit dipped in french toast batter, fried and tossed in powdered sugar) to share and there was no problem taking care of it in short order. My wife had the Big Scramble and loved it. Especially the biscuit that came with it. I don't recall what everyone else had (we were a party of six) but I do know we all cleaned our plates. The only non-punitive deficits are the lack of Apple Pay support and the limited hours of 06:30-14:30. It was a great experience and one we intend to repeat. Based on this visit, I HIGHLY recommend The Big Biscuit. read more

Went in early afternoon on a Sunday with two others and got seated immediately. Food came out fairly quickly, too. I got the Alamo breakfast burrito which was plenty filling, but had to go for the KO by ordering a Bonut (biscuit donut). I was very pleased to see the huge biscuit cut in half, which felt like two Bonuts. Those were so satisfying that I would consider getting a few of those to-go if I was craving powdered donuts! My other two acquaintances got biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs and the other got a French toast platter. For the friend that ordered the French toast platter, when he added peanut butter and bananas to the French toast, he was surprised the peanut butter came in a side cup rather than already on the toast underneath the bananas. For them, the food didn't blow it out of the water and the atmosphere felt closer to an IHOP than a small ma and pa place, but the Bonut is why this is 5 stars instead of 4. There's also 16 locations of these in the greater KC area and soon to be one (I'm pretty sure) in Tulsa, OK. read more

My parents are regulars here and took us here for breakfast. The service was friendly and quick. Even though the parking lot was packed, they had plenty of seating. Holy cow this place is great! If you want a huge serving of breakfast with tons of choices go here!! The good is tasty and the service was good. They were really busy and I think short on staff. The only issue I had was that one of my medium eggs was cooked hard for my eggs Benedict but it was fine. I didn't complain about it. Just seemed to minor to make a deal out of it.
