After about 5 sips I was breathing fire and loving every bit of it. If you love spicy Bloody Mary's, this here is the home for them. We shared a yummy dinner at The Black Cow last weekend. We were seated immediately upon arriving and the place remained a buzz our entire time there. Several parties coming in to enjoy dinner. I had a sweet tea to start. My son and I shared the fried okra, chicken and waffle with collards and my bff had the meatloaf with green beans. I'd definitely repeat visit on another trip to town or bring guests here for a casual, tasty and filling dinner if they're in town. Great spot! Service-So Abby our server was over the top. Her attention to us and making sure beverages were topped off and checking on us during our dining experience was a note in Customer Service. There was a small delay in receiving our food and the staff brought it to our attention and brought a complimentary appetizer to us. Buffalo chicken dip with the best fresh pitas I've ever had!!!! I was in town for business and was told to try this place. I am glad I did. I went right after work and was seated right away. The waitress was very friendly, attentive and she gave recommendations on things to try. The okra seasoned and was fried perfectly. I loved the sauces (including the one the waitress brought out to try, she said it was one she likes to make). The food was seasoned well, the greens were really good. I'll give the dip a 3.5 but paying for more bread for it is ridiculous. Meatloaf was pretty good, give that 4 stars. Burger was terrible - overcooked and had no flavor, 1 star. Steak tacos - the steak was over cooked and cooked again. Kinda like old steak trim pieces or something, 1 star. They charge for splitting a meal - totally ridiculous business practice. We arrived and was able to be seated right away. From the hostess to our waiter and entire we felted WELCOMED! Our waiter, Clayton didnt hold back, he was very knowledgeable of the menu and shared some amazing recommendations. The restaurant was playing music so the was a nice catch. We order the fried green tomatoes and goat cheese tower as an appetizer and I fried fish-grouper and sweet potato fries. For my drink I ordered the Georgia Peach Mule. We ended up here spontaneously due to a long wait at another restaurant, and we were very pleased with the experience! Service was a little slow, but the food was excellent. We had the mozzarella sticks and fried okra, which were both crispy and served hot. I got the pimiento burger, which I really enjoyed. I will say that I ordered it done medium, and it was much closer to medium well, and I would have liked a little more Jam, but otherwise it was awesome. We're visiting Columbus for an Army graduation and our Airbnb suggested the Black Cow to us, and oh boy was it a great suggestion! The Black Cow has a casual atmosphere utilizing the industrial brick feel of downtown Columbus. Drink menu has some custom cocktails and I tried the Georgia Peach Mule. It was quite refreshing on a hot Georgia day. I sat at the bar and Abby, the bartender, was super friendly and very helpful with ordering. I had the side salad (which I failed to take a picture of ‍), it was pretty basic but the vinaigrette dressing Abby recommended was delicious. I ate the Steakhouse Burger with fries for my meal. We had 4 adults and 2 children. We were sat on arrival. The vibe is cool and relaxing inside. We ordered drinks which were just beers and they were opened right away by bartender but sat on the bar for 10 minutes before waitress brought them. All our food came out expect for the kids food.... We had to wait 15 minutes for the kids chicken tenders and checked in serval times to get them. This is so backwards. Anyone with kids knows they need there food first. Me and my buddy tried to give thos place a try but when seated they put us up against a door so we had to sit next to each other. The place was empty so we moved one table over and the hostess made a huge deal out of it. She told us that she would have shut the door, shook her head and gave my buddy a nasty look.
