The drink i got was called "it comes in waves" but it very much in fact came in one big singular wave... it hit me like a truck but no regrets! I had a super fun time!! Food was delicious and perfect to munch on while drinking! One hack that our waitress told us about was getting the corn and the fries and flipping the corn on top to make it like loaded fries. Very cute date for my Fiance and I. It's our first speakeasy bar so the experience was great. It's a very dark and tiny room. They also had a live pianist playing in the background so that was cool. You don't get to choose where to sit but if you sit at the bar be prepared to be knit tight with the people sitting next to you. But the vibes were definitely something, we were able to have a a fun conversation with the people sitting next to us and especially the bartenders Frank and Hector. The bartenders were all amazing. Frank specifically was the one that served us and he always made sure we had a fresh poured drink in front of us. We had about 5 of the signature cocktails and 1 cocktail that was off menu it tasted like a fresh squeezed orange whisky sour. All the drinks are something to experience so definitely get some! PREVIOUS VISIT: I came here for my birthday in 2024-gave this speakeasy 5 stars minus a lack luster birthday experience that others around me had and the bartender charging us for a drink we casually were talking about but never actually ordered. It was a great experience overall... THIS TIME--it was just a no for us. The current cocktail menu with their House Specials--in my opinion (as an avid craft cocktail/speakeasy connoisseur) was not great. I strugggggled to find something I wanted to try but did decide to start with the Two Sizes Two Small--I could not finish or even take more than a few sips. My poor boyfriend had to mostly finish it because we felt bad and didn't want to say anything to our bartender. Our bartender was good--we have mostly had decent service--but he started off great informing us about their food menu and specifically said that he would let us know 30 mins before the kitchen closes to place any orders if we chose to have food. Well he didn't and he felt bad about it (as I did want to order food after struggling with cocktails) and did offer us shots on the house to make up for it. I then just decided to move to their classic cocktails and ordered a Sazerac (seen in photo) which I was able to drink more than half of that but could not finish. My boyfriend's cocktails were more palatable. He did order 3 cocktails and said they were decent but also not great--not like our last experience. So this visit was a bummer since we traveled to CA and tend to pick speakeasy bars to visit. Since I am born and raised in Orange--we were visiting my family and felt Blind Rabbit, based on our last visit, was a safe pick as we felt we knew we would enjoy. We were celebrating getting married and this just did not meet our expectations....unfortunately. After much anticipation to visit The Blind Rabbit, our group left highly disappointed, primarily due to the bartender's demeanor and lack of attentiveness. From the moment we arrived, the service felt unwelcoming, and the negative attitude noticeably impacted the overall experience. We understood and respected the speakeasy's rules, including the no-flash-photography policy. However, another group of influencers was openly taking flash photos throughout the venue. When we politely mentioned that they might be violating the rules, they told us the hostess had actually encouraged them to do so. The inconsistency felt frustrating and unfair. The space itself is small, intimate, and beautifully designed, creating the kind of cozy atmosphere you would expect from a speakeasy. The food was flavorful, creative, and one of the highlights of the evening. The cocktails, however, fell short. While inventive, many drinks seemed overly complicated, masking the true character of key spirits like mezcal and bourbon instead of enhancing them. The espresso martini was the exception and was quite enjoyable. Unfortunately, despite the ambiance and quality food, we will not be returning. Wow! What a singularly stellar experience. Four friends and I made a 5:00pm reservation to The Blind Rabbit and shared a wonderful evening in their spellbound speakeasy. A challenge to find inside, make your way downstairs to the main floor and find the host waiting your arrival outside of a wall of sale barrels. Once in, delight your visuals with a small but extremely well decorated and polished bar with a few scattered tables amongst the space. With a cocktail and food menu appetizing for any guest, we sampled multiple cocktails in our 90 minute time frame and left feeling enchanted. By far my favorite, their "An Angels Gets Its Wings" cocktail has the perfect blend of diverse flavors that feels like a well balanced desert cocktail. Amazing speakeasy in the packing district. Hard to locate but you can ask the security or anyone working and they'll show you the way. Really small room but the vibes and music are amazing. It's really dark in the room but there's underside counter lighting to read the menu. We were seated at the bar since usually the tables are reserved for bigger groups. All the drinks we had tasted great and were the perfect strength. My favorite was the "Becoming the Memory" which resembled a pina colada. The food was amazing as well with my favorite being the corn esquites and steak frites. The best corn I have had hands down. The corn is like elote with the cotija cheese. It's also cooked with the fat and has huge chunks of chorizo that tastes so well with the sweet corn. A perfect sweet and salty combo. The steak frites were cooked to medium rare and was good. The star of the dish was the chimichurri sauce that added so much flavor to the steak. The bartender was amazing and knowledgeable and the service was great as well. I recommended giving yourself a buffer of 15 minutes or so during busy times to find parking and walk over. My friend and I came here on a weeknight evening for drinks and light bites. We had a reservation so we checked in when we got to the hostess stand and were seated within 10 minutes. We entered through the door with all the sake barrels. The door handle has a rabbit on it which fits the name. Upon entering, the space is cozy and dimly lit, but very on theme with lots of wood decor and brick. We were seated at the bar which was nice because we were able to chat with the bartenders and see our drinks being made. We had two rounds of drinks plus the corn esquites and ceviche. For the first round, my friend ordered a Penicillin and I ordered a Sailing Before the Wind. For the second round, we ordered two of the Becoming the Memory. The drinks were all delicious and well-balanced. The esquites were flavorful with a tang of citrus and the ceviche was fresh. Both made for the perfect light bites. Overall, giving Blind Rabbit a 5/5. We loved the ambiance, all the decor, and sitting at the bar. Service was good and the staff are friendly. Highly recommend coming here for drinks and food. If you know.. you know. This speakeasy is one not to be missed. The hidden in plain sight aspect plays perfectly within the Anaheim packing district. You step through the sake wall and into an escape from the crowd. The low lighting is easy on the eyes, calming and classic. It's been a few years since visiting the blind rabbit. Still holding popularity as its exclusive secrecy entices visitors. Outside bystanders peeking through with curiosity as the bookshelf door briefly opens and closes back into a boxed wall. By reservation only so it's hard to visit spontaneously as they are usually fully booked on weekends. Be aware of the cancellation policy. If you fail to cancel your reservation at least 24 hours prior to your reservation time slot you will be charged $25 per person. But if you didn't make reservations and have some time, it never hurts to try a walk in. The flavors described were a little muted. I was sort of expecting a little more complexity but still enjoyable. There's also bites and eats available. If you want to spend your entire time here go for it! You got in so stay as long as you can. It'll satisfy, but I would also recommend maybe saving some of your appetite for the surrounding eateries. You palate may be happier with that decision. Our waiter was great and they kept our water full at all times. The food was so good! We didn't have anything we didn't enjoy. The tater tots were crispy, the crab cakes were delicious, they did have fillers but still very flavorful and came with a salad as garnish. The duck fat potatoes were, so, so good. Esquite was also very flavorful. I loved my salmon and shorts ribs were tender and drool worthy. The only dish we could have skipped was the short rib gyoza and not because they weren't good but because the dumpling took away from the delicious short rib. When I say I've been desperate to try The Blind Rabbit, I mean it. Luckily for me my bday celebration day concluded with such a fun visit! Made a reservation for 9:15pm and got here on time. After a tiny bit of a wait, we entered and it was total speakeasy vibes. Dark interior, vintage aesthetic, and a great cocktail menu. I started with the tomorrow will be fine and it was delicious! I'm a huge fan of great glassware and i especially loved this one. We shared a death cup and it was strong and delicious. Its essentially a high quality version of a traditional zombie. It was excellent! to finish off, I steered away from the sweet drinks and had a Lonely Day. Occasionally I like a "serious" drink and this was just that; Whiskey, Licor 43, Mushroom, black truffle, and brown butter. It was the perfect 'savory' drink to end my birthday night. It didn't seem like they enforced a dress code, but it seemed pretty casual when we were there. I'm assuming people get more dressed up for the later reservations. We haven't had any of the food, but you really go there for the drinks and those are solid. They are strong, but are well made. They use lots of fresh juices, which is such a plus. The drinks we've tried have had well balanced flavors but also have different levels to them. The drinks we've ordered were all between $18-$20 which is pretty standard, and honestly felt worth the costs because of the craftsmanship that went into them. If you're an old fashioned fan, the Into the Woods is so good. The Ube, I love your way is smooth, subtly sweet, nutty and delicious. If you like gin, La Modiste is great. It is an alcohol forward drink, but is earthy, citrusy and it just works. We were served mainly by Sergio, who was awesome. Legitimately a nice guy who you can tell takes pride in his work. He gave us great recommendations and was just a cool person to talk to. We are big fans and will be back! read more
