went with my friends this past saturday and we had an amazing first time!! our server daniel really tied together the whole experience and he was super attentive our whole dinner. our drinks were strong (in a good way) and all DELICIOUS! the food we ordered included burger and fries, the papas appetizer, and a crème brûlée and they were all hits- super vibrant flavor and beautiful presentation. regret not taking more pictures because the setting was so well decorated and there's a lot to take in. overall amazing vibes that set up a great time for us. highly recommend for future date nights or night out wjth friends!!
We have been to the Blind Rabbit many times. They just released their new spring menu, so it was time to return again. We usually eat before visiting, but many of the new food items looked very good, so we had dinner also. They are usually very busy, so be sure to book a reservation on their website. We started out with the empanadas (Shrimp, Mozzarella, Parsley, Chili Flakes, Chef's Bomb Salsa, $18) to get something in our stomachs early. There are two good sized empanadas, perfect for sharing, stuffed full with cheese and plenty of shrimp, with a crisp crust. The salsa definitely has a kick and brings some heat. They were excellent and filling. My first cocktail was the "La Peligrosa" - Vodka Banger (White Hjerte Vodka, Capaletti, Green Chartreuse, Papaya, Pineapple, Lemon, $19). It was balanced and not boozy, with light fruit and a hint of chartreuse which I love. Her first cocktail was the "Oaxacan Trading Co." - Mango Jet Pilot (Oaxaxa Rum, Trinidadian Rum, Lime, Grapefruit, Cinnamon, Mango, Meletti Float, $19). The rums are at the perfect level, and there is some funk. It is nice and juicy, and the grapefruit, mango, and cinnamon are all there. This was our favorite drink of the night. I was going to have steak for dinner, so I ordered the "Viejito En Vacaciones" - Pineapple Old-Fashioned (Sagamore Rye, Pineapple, Toasted Almond, Tiki Bitters, $18). It was smooth and had some light spices. Her second was the "Hole Mole" - Agave Sour (Magenta Blanco, Divin Espadin, Mole, Chile, Lime, Chocolate Bitters, $20). I have never had mole so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was balanced and had some good complexity. It had a light heat and some chocolate notes, very enjoyable. For my entrée, I had the Prime Filet Mignon (Blueberry Red Wine Reduction, Potato Pave, Mushroom Cream, Egg Truffle, $58). Wow, what a presentation! This dish looks like something you'd pay a fortune for at a fancy French restaurant. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare plus, just as ordered. The filet has to be at least six ounces, if not more, and is cut in half and served in two pieces. The mushroom cream was good (there's some mushrooms on the plate also), but I really loved the blueberry red wine reduction. I've never had a poached egg with a filet for dinner before, but it totally worked, and the truffle oil added another layer of flavor. The potato pave (squares) were so good, nice thin slices of potato pressed together with a crispy exterior. This was an excellent entrée. She just wanted a few more appetizers for her main, so we ordered the Papas Bravas (Baby Dutch Creamers, Chorizo Seco, Brava Sauce, Aioli, Parsley Oil, $18). The plate was barely warm when it arrived, so we asked our server if she could heat it up, which she was happy to do. Once heated properly, it was way better and the potatoes and chorizo were both good. The sauce had a little heat to it. We also ordered the hummus (Garbanzo, Pickled Vegetables, Paprika, Toasted Pepitas, $20). This was another visually impressive and exotic looking dish. It's served with warm toasted pitas, and the hummus is flavorful. The pickled vegetables were a nice addition, and I particularly enjoyed the onions and jalapenos. For my last cocktail, I had the Nina Fresa - Strawberries & Cream Milk Punch (Mijenta Blanco, Strawberry, Lime, Milk Punch, $20). It wasn't mentioned in the description, so I was pleasantly surprised when it was served with a nice, thick foam on top. I was even more surprised to find that the foam had a great coconut flavor to it. It paired well with the strawberry flavor of the milk punch, and the lime was quite noticeable. It had a mellow sweetness, and was a good finisher after the more classic cocktails earlier. She finished with the Te Quiero - Tamarind Margarita (Divino Mezcal, Xila, Fernet Vallet, Tamarind, Honey, $19). This had a great flavor profile with a light smokiness. The host Anna was very friendly and seated us immediately. Our server was Georgina who we've had several times. She is always very friendly and provides great service, and this visit was no exception. She mentioned that the kitchen was a running a bit slow that night, and kindly offered us shots of our choice on the house. We asked her to surprise us, and she brought out what I believe were daiquiri shots which were delicious. Our bartenders were Adrian and Ruben, and they made great drinks. The new spring menu is excellent. We really enjoyed both the cocktails and the food. If you haven't visited in a while, now is a great time to come back.
The Blind Rabbit is one of the coolest speakeasies I've ever been too. I've had some of the most delicious drinks of my life here -- Each cocktail is hand-crafted with care and expertise. The food is also fantastic. If you love seafood, I highly recommend the scallops The bar is EXTREMELY small, with less than like ten tables plus a few more seats at the bar. So reservations are key if you want to visit, especially during a busy time or one of their specialty themed seasons.
Nice speakeasy at Anaheim Packing District, reservations required! The drinks were yummy; the Saturn cocktail ($18) is the best. The food was ok; we got the Duck Confit Mac & Cheese ($19), Beef Tartare ($23), and a side of fries. It was tasty, but super small portions for the price. It's pretty small inside, but I think that's a lot of speakeasys. It is very dark inside. Service was great, and they let us stay a bit longer than our reserved time since I was late and couldn't find parking. (Parking is really tough, went on a Thursday night and was struggling for a bit) Would come again for their special menus!
Enjoyed this speakeasy! It is nicely "hidden" and the ambiance was cool- low lit, eclectic and cozy. The hostess was very sweet and let us in and seated us right away. There were 2 bartenders and a server for the tables. We sat at the bar. One of bartenders seemed to be newer but everyone was very nice. The drinks we ordered were yummy. We also ordered the crab cake, shrimp ceviche, and empanadas. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Unlike other places, there didn't seem to be a time limit or since it was a Tuesday evening, they weren't too busy. Again, the ambience and music were great. There was one area in the ceiling they need to fix but other than that, everything was good. You should def try it.
Parking can get hard since the lot is small. The bar is located inside the Packing District. It's best to make reservations 'cause the bar can get packed, and then you'd have to wait awhile. The bar is like a "speakeasy" and is really small inside. But the experience was pretty cool, and the waiter was super nice. I ordered the Candela (which was a fruity drink). It wasn't too strong, and it was really good! Such a cool location! Emma (I believe that was her name) was efficient checking us in and leading is to our table. The waitress was also great and there was already water waiting for us. Since the water was sitting out, it wasn't as cold as I would have liked. But that didn't bother me too much since I ordered a Niña Fresa drink! I'd also had the Crab Cake, Creme Brûlée and the Banana Bread Pudding. I enjoyed each item, and my party really enjoyed the bread pudding specifically! The vibes are very unique; dim lighting with books as decor. At first they had music playing on the speakers but later in the evening there was an actual pianist! I'm a sucker for live entertainment. My party and I agreed we would like to come back someday!
It was kind of hard to make reservations to this restaurant, but once we arrived, it was easy to see why. The restaurant is very small, with only about 7-8 tables, and it has a speakeasy-style concept that creates a unique and intimate atmosphere. I had heard that this place is known for its cocktails, but unfortunately the drinks we ordered were not really to my taste. For food, we tried the crab cake, scallops, steak, and crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was definitely the standout dish of the evening and the most memorable part of the meal. The crab cake, scallops, and steak were decent, but they didn't particularly impress me. Overall, the cozy setting and unique concept make this restaurant worth experiencing, but the food and drinks were a bit hit-or-miss for me.
It took a little while for us to get seated since no one was at the front to check us in, and a few parties with the same reservation time had lined up by the time we were helped. I had really loved the food menu on my previous visit, but I didn't realize the menu rotates. This time I ordered the duck confit truffle mac and cheese along with a tequila sour. Unfortunately, the duck was a bit dry, and the top layer of the mac and cheese was also dry and slightly hard, while most of the cheese sauce had settled at the bottom. That said, I really enjoyed my tequila sour. We were seated at the bar, and the service there was attentive--staff checked in on us regularly and were great about water refills and making sure we were enjoying our food and drinks.
I've gotten mixed reviews for this place and I just wanted to check it out for this place. My honest review is, that it's actually pretty great!! The check in area is on the first floor next to the swings (if you know the double swings at the sitting area) and the host tells you if you can sit right away or if it's reservations only. I went on a weekday night without reservations and the speakeasy bar had some walk-in tables available. The inside isn't too big, usually small table or bar style. We tried a burger and some really good cocktails. Definitely recommend this place. This place is quite dark though, and I couldn't really see much of the colors that looked really pretty. But I loved the ambiance so much as well as the food/drink options. Check them out!!

This review is about 3 years too late. But found these gems as I was cleaning up the photos from my phone, and given that the final season of Stranger Things is now streaming, I was hoping it would still be fun and relevant. I've come here several times over the years but I once came here with a friend during Halloween. The entire bar was decorated to resemble the Upside Down, complete with a Demogorgon coming through the wall. It was such a fun and creepy vibe that really set the mood. The drinks and service was spectacular, as always.

Blind Rabbit is super cool, best if you sit at the bar as a couple, because the bartenders are nice and service is faster. Over the years I feel like it has definitely become more bright inside even in non holiday times. The first couple of times I came here I could hardly even see my wife sitting across from me because it was so dark. Food is excellent and I love the smashed potatoes with some type of aioli, it's just the best, perfect mix of salt, texture and volume. You can get the potatoes alone or as part of steak frites. Great holiday drinks and other harder to find drinks, like a lions tail... I suggest coming in a concentrated burst at first, this will allow you to be recognized and hopefully you get to skip the reading of the rules...this is probably my only complaint about some of the trendier social media spots. I love and prefer a reservation, but I also love being able to come inside and enjoy a place without the unwelcoming rigmarole. I love this place! read more

I felt like I was in Las Vegas the whole time we were there. The ambiance and the music was great. We noticed food coming out so next time we'd definitely also eat here. The Blind Rabbit is hands down one of my favorite speakeasies in Orange County. Tucked away in the Anaheim Packing District, it's a small, intimate, and incredibly charming spot--perfect for a date night or special evening out. The interior is beautifully decorated, with moody lighting and vintage vibes that instantly transport you somewhere else. Reservations are highly recommended, as seating is very limited and the space fills up quickly. It's part of what makes the experience feel so exclusive and special. Their drink menu is impressive--creative, fun, and full of surprises. We tried the Ube I Love Your Way, and wow... it was the star of the night. It looks crystal clear like water but tastes absolutely incredible. The Middommar was another hit--light, refreshing, and well-balanced. The presentation of every cocktail is next-level and shows real craftsmanship. Service was out of this world. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our server took time to walk us through the menu and offer thoughtful recommendations. As a cherry on top, the bartender gave us a complimentary shot just before closing--such a memorable and generous gesture. They have a selection of food as well, which looked really appetizing, however we had just eaten so stuck to drinks, however I would love to try the food next time! If you're looking for a standout cocktail experience in a cozy, atmospheric setting, The Blind Rabbit is a must. I cannot recommend it enough! read more

A Memorable First Speakeasy Experience! We had never been to a speakeasy before, and we're so glad The Blind Rabbit was our first! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was intimate and inviting--perfectly moody with just the right touch of intrigue. We were warmly welcomed by our lovely server, Jasmine (or Jazmine--apologies if I misspelled your name!). Her bright smile lit up the dimly lit room and immediately made us feel at home. For drinks, we tried the Shogun Assassin and the Midsommar--both were incredibly smooth and flavorful (they definitely sneak up on you later!). When it came to food, we couldn't decide on just one dish, so we shared the Beef Tartare and the Duck Confit Mac & Cheese. Both were absolutely delicious and beautifully plated. To end the night, we treated ourselves to the crème brûlée, which was the perfect sweet finish to an already amazing evening. We capped it all off with a final shot together before heading out--a small moment that made the whole experience even more memorable. So cute! We went here for a holiday celebration and the place was decked out in Christmas decoration. The place was small but very cozy. I loved all the holiday drink options! Shoutout to Anna! She was so awesome -- constantly checked in on us to see if we needed more drinks, water, or sodas. Our server/bartender Pirate Joe(?) was super nice as well. I have been wanting to go to this place for a long time and finally my daughter agreed to go with me. Word of caution for first time visitors, you have to wait outside until the hostess checks you in and seats you. If you don't see the hostess, just wait. If you go in, they will ask you to leave and wait. They are not rude about this, but they are firm on the rule. After we left and waited a few minutes, the hostess sat us down at the bar. The place is small, but very cozy. Our bartender Adrian helped us with our first round of drinks and our food. We ordered the steak frites and for drinks we had Panic at Caroling and Absinthe. Adrian was a true master. Even though he was busy, he was friendly and engaged in small talk with us. Just like a chef is concerned with presentation of the food plate, Adrian was focused on ensuring that the cocktails not only tasted great, but the presentation was epic as well. We ate our food and I had a penicillin which was delicious. We finished our meal with banana bread pudding which I highly recommend. This is a great place for a couple to enjoy a unique dining and drinking experience. This could be your partner or a really close friend. I highly recommend this place and I even bought the book Adrian recommended. Five starts all around! read more
Service was unreal. The moment we were greeted upon walking up, to being led to our table, and the continued service throughout it was so good. The drinks were delicious! I absolutely loved Ube, I Love Your Way--it was so unique! Into the Woods had an amazing presentation and was pretty good as well. We all enjoyed ourselves and the drinks. Inside is so cozy--it makes me feel like I'm in a speakeasy on the east coast and it should be raining/cold outside. They had a live pianist playing/singing so that was a nice touch. Cocktails are excellent. what a fun experience, try the absinthe cocktails where the jar is brought to your table and you let it slowly drip onto the sugar cube in your glass. appreciated the educational aspect before I got started on this drink. Had absinthe drinks before elsewhere other events but not right at my table. so this was cool. delightful. make reservations online, for sure. it's a small space, only few tables. plan days ahead. entrance is hidden so give yourself plenty of time to PARK your car, then walk around the food court building, to find your way here. better early than late you know or you lose your table. service was kind and personal. they were happy to explain the history of absinthe or anything you needed to know about any drinks on the menu. food available. burger and fries can be shared and get a cocktail each, that'll be a good time and you can go elsewhere to eat if you need more food if you still have stomach for it. so many choices in this building. read more
Went here a couple weeks ago with some girl friendsss! 1st time going to a speakeasy, this place is definitely going to be hard to top! Shout out to Stephen & Cameron who truly elevated our experience. So funny & so knowledgeable in regards to the drinks we ordered. I learned so much about alcohol in one night hahaha. This place is located downstairs in the back right corner look for the large barrels. There's a hostess stand out front. This place is already so famous that getting a reservation is a challenge, but I finally made it for the second time. The cocktails? Out of this world. Our first visit to The Blind Rabbit was absolutely fantastic! I've known about this spot for a while, but reservations were always tough to get. When I saw they were hosting a Grinch-themed pop-up, I jumped at the chance. The ambiance was wonderful, with festive Grinch-themed decor that really set the mood. We tried three of the Grinch-themed drinks, and each one was amazing. We also shared the steak frites, and I can't stop thinking about the fried olives--they were incredible! The service was excellent, adding to the overall great experience. I will definitely be back and can't wait to see what other pop-ups they have in store. Brunch is next on my list! read more

Finally got to try this place! Its been around for awhile but could never get a reservation. Its very small inside and dark but its so nice and enticing. So many drinks it is a bit pricy but so is everything right now lol. Average drink id say is $16 and up. I dont recall what i got, I just knew it was good haha. They also have a very small good menu and everything that came out the kitchen smelled delicious. I'd come back again to try the food. We got seated at the bar stools and the bartenders were very nice and attentive and gave good suggestions for drinks. Overall 9/10 great speakeasy read more

Inside the packing district is this cute little speakeasy! We had reservations for Friday night, when we got there, we were seated shortly. The speak easy is definitely very intimate, cute, and a nice place for date night. The drinks are expected to be on the pricier side. The bartenders and servers are super nice, engaging, and making sure you like your drink. They'll have you taste test a few liquors to see your flavor profile. read more

My first time ever going to a speakeasy! The ambience was really cool inside and it wasn't too loud and crazy like a bar but rather, more intimate, which I liked! The drink i got was called "it comes in waves" but it very much in fact came in one big singular wave... it hit me like a truck but no regrets! I had a super fun time!! Food was delicious and perfect to munch on while drinking! One hack that our waitress told us about was getting the corn and the fries and flipping the corn on top to make it like loaded fries. IT WAS SO GOOD. I did take off one star because we had an appointment but still had to wait like 30+ minutes to get seated because the people who had our table weren't leaving yet.. i think there should be a better system to have customers honor the time limit but they did compensate us with free drinks so I'm not thaaat upset about it drink: 7/10 fries + elote: 9/10 tater tots: 8/10 crème brûlée: 8/10 read more

This has to be the coolest speakeasy in OC! The ambiance is so unique and cozy, with a vibe that makes every visit feel like a special night out. The food is always spot on, and the fried chicken sandwich is hands down my favorite. They also have absinthe, which is a fun and unforgettable experience if you've never tried it before. The whole place has such a great energy, and it's hidden away in the Anaheim Packing House, which makes it feel like a little secret. I love this place--it's always a good time! read more

PREVIOUS VISIT: I came here for my birthday in 2024-gave this speakeasy 5 stars minus a lack luster birthday experience that others around me had and the bartender charging us for a drink we casually were talking about but never actually ordered. It was a great experience overall... THIS TIME--it was just a no for us. The current cocktail menu with their House Specials--in my opinion (as an avid craft cocktail/speakeasy connoisseur) was not great. I strugggggled to find something I wanted to try but did decide to start with the Two Sizes Two Small--I could not finish or even take more than a few sips. My poor boyfriend had to mostly finish it because we felt bad and didn't want to say anything to our bartender. Our bartender was good--we have mostly had decent service--but he started off great informing us about their food menu and specifically said that he would let us know 30 mins before the kitchen closes to place any orders if we chose to have food. Well he didn't and he felt bad about it (as I did want to order food after struggling with cocktails) and did offer us shots on the house to make up for it. I then just decided to move to their classic cocktails and ordered a Sazerac (seen in photo) which I was able to drink more than half of that but could not finish. My boyfriend's cocktails were more palatable. He did order 3 cocktails and said they were decent but also not great--not like our last experience. So this visit was a bummer since we traveled to CA and tend to pick speakeasy bars to visit. Since I am born and raised in Orange--we were visiting my family and felt Blind Rabbit, based on our last visit, was a safe pick as we felt we knew we would enjoy. We were celebrating getting married and this just did not meet our expectations....unfortunately. Will not return as we both felt we have experienced the highs and lows here and we will stick to places like Strong Water. The ambiance with the dark and moody vibes--is there and will always be there. Maybe a menu change or fine tuning cocktails to be more balanced. read more

Great service! Would definitely recommend this place. Usually it's a lot more dimmed and dark in there, but because we went during the Christmas time, they had it festive with decorations. The food is great as well, but if you're hungry and going on empty stomach, you should definitely eat before because their portions are small, but great food overall. read more

Awesome full dinner available! As much as I hate the instagramness here sometimes, it's a great place, tasty food and wonderful staff!

Yes you should be able to. I have seen people there in shorts.
What's the wait list/reservation like? I was looking to reserve for 2 people this week (12/11 actually) but there are no reservations. The table reservation website indicates no reservations for many weeks. Is it just walk in now?
They do not allow walk ins in the evening only reservations. I believe that you can do walk ins up to 4:00 on weekends but that was a few years ago. And yes it is months out to get in...

No smoking is allowed in or around the whole Packing House area.
Is the upside down theme going on with stranger things?
Haven’t heard about any Stranger Things theming, but the Harry Potter one should be in October.
How fast do you get a response when messaging on any of the social media sites?
We have an average response rate of 30min for the Yelp Messaging Platform. When reaching out through Instagram we average relatively the same time but can be longer as we prioritize Yelp.
Is there a cancelation fee?
You can cancel but you have to give them 23-48 hours notice, I believe. Otherwise, you will get a per person charge. Be sure to read their reservation policy for the exact info.
Is the Harry Potter theme continuing in January 2024?
From what I gather, the Harry Potter layover is only in October.

Nope, it was October only.
Is this place big enough for 8 people to be comfortable?
No. They will most likely split your group

Is there live music on friday nights?
Yes, they do! They have a live pianist singer who does songs from the prohibition period 1920's-30's. My husband and I have seen him a bunch of times!
Is it difficult to get a seat at the bar without reservations during the weekday?
