    Chicken and waffles sliders
    Heather M.

This place is a whole VIBE... First time coming here and like I normally do I go onto Google to see if they do reservations. Bet - they do and seems like that the best Thang to do also lol music was really good (you have to like rap, r&b soul music) . At first it was just a radio playing the mysic and then a DJ arrived to kick it up a notch. all the ladies working were all so nice with smiles and just chilin like they actually liked their job. The drinks were not water down and the food came out fresh and hot. I orderedthe cheesy jalapeño grits which was extra cheesy and mild to my taste buds and I ordered the Thai lettuce chicken wraps. I liked I could put the chicken filling into the lettuce pieces my self so I could fill them to my desired size and add a leaf if I wanted to. The filling was bursting with flavor. My husband ordered the chicken and waffle sliders and the chicken was cripsy and flavorful the waffles were fluffy and the syrup had a taste of cinnamon. I can't wait to come back to try something else off their menu. I also want to note. I noticed that having a reservation is actually the only way you MOST LIKELY WILL GET YOU A TABLE rather they look busy or not. Just a FYI it seemed like the sat at a pace also as toot overwhelm the waitresses. My table sat asap because we HAD a reservation!

The Buffalo wings are the best thing in the menu! Always on point and consistent. The service is good in the bar area, it's always packed on the weekend but I still enjoy going. Music is pretty loud so be prepared for that but it's a good spot to go when I come back home to visit. I really want to come for brunch next time! But I keep missing the time that it ends...

I've come here twice and enjoyed my experience both times. The 1st time, I came to a trivia night with a live DJ which was fun. If you get there before 6:30, they have happy hour. I got some of their wings and the hype is real. They were soooo delicious! Very flavorful and filling. I got some Brussels sprouts to go with them but I didn't care for them. They put way too much sauce on them and they came topped with cashews. I would have preferred some seasoned roasted Brussels sprouts. The sauce was just too much... The 2nd time I came, I sat in the bar area and ordered the salmon sliders which was okay. They didn't have any flavor to them. The side of broccolini was amazing. I ordered a second plate to go. really love that. The bartender made me a nice little mocktail as well. My overall experience was good. I would come back.

We made a Saturday reservation for opening time. It was nice to get in before it got crowded. The live DJ was a nice touch. I am picky about my wings but these were a 10! They weren't dry & had the perfect amount of sauce. The jalapeno shrimp & grits were good too! I enjoyed everything I ordered. But that price... whew. We spent about $75pp and it was one appetizer 2 entrees and one cocktail. My side of eggs was $8 alone. It was my first time eating here so I wasn't sure what to expect. I enjoyed it.

My family and I went for Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. I recommend having a reservation because they are crowded on Sundays. There is a Dj who plays a nice mix of current and old school music. Service is was fast and my food was good. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The potatoes and eggs needed salt and pepper, but they didn't require a lot. Everyone in my group enjoyed their food and we had a good time vibing to the music without it being too loud. I will definitely be back.

    Spicy Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Food - I had the spicy chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken was grilled but it definitely held its flavor and juiciness. As for the chipotle sauce ask for it on the side because it did make the sandwich HOT, lol. If you're not used to heat I suggest you get something else. The sandwich was 10/10 but what would have taken it to the next level would have been some BACON!!!!!!! The fries were temperature hot and I love my food hot to the touch. The sweet potato cheesecake was tasty. My friend stated it was equivalent to a coffee cake, but I think that it was more in line with a carrot cake. Also got a piece of the lemon cake which was served warm...it was yummy also. Service - was quick; the server was personable. Ambience- it's a cute little spot...it's small and quaint 18% gratuity for all checks If your visiting to Detroit or even if you are a native go to The Block, you won't be disappointed

Oh my goodness! It was great to be in the D and visit with the amazing team at The Block. The food and the service was excellent. The culture is alive and kicking in this bar and kitchen! Live DJ during our brunch too and fun to meet Chef Kenny Parker!

I love their happy hour. I highly recommend the salmon sliders and wings. My peach/mango margarita was delicious.

We were in town for the Detroit Tigers opening day game and looking support black-owned businesses or restaurants. We found this place and we are not disappointed. The hostess who greeted us when we walked in was all smiles and super friendly. She sat us on the side where the bar is but there was also a side with nothing but tables so if you didn't want to be near the bar you didn't have to be. There was plenty of light from the huge windows in the front. The menu you access by scanning a QR code and it comes up as a PDF on your phone. The menu is a bit limited but I think that's so that they can focus on what they do well and that is definitely the wings! The wings had some sweet chili on them and everybody was eating them so we had to try them and they were absolutely amazing! They were fried hard like we like them, super sticky and sweet, and not huge like you wonder what was done to them to make them grow so big. Haha. The burger was delicious also; it was juicy and crunchy on the edges and a nice size especially considering it was like a $20 Burger (I took a star for this) . The prices were a bit high but you pay for the quality I guess. I also got a drink called "Say Less" which the name alone cracks me up. It was lemonade raspberry and dusse. This drunk was $16. Good but the bartender has a heavy hand, FYI if you driving. We also got something called shotgun shrimp which was similar to boom boom shrimp but not as saucy. Also great. Esp with these little things that look like cherries but they weren't there were some kind of pepper little red pepper. Yum! Plenty of street parking. It's also within walking distance of Wayne State University and a bakery. There's lots of seating. The food came really fast and fresh. The walls are decorated in really cool art that it seems to be locally done as it references midtown and the cass corridor of Detroit. I definitely plan to go back here and would urge anyone to stop by. Even on our way out the hostess asked us if we needed a bag and then bagged it for us ...we had two little boxes. Lol. It was a really friendly inviting atmosphere and the food was great and I would come back anytime.

Recently visited Detroit and The Block was recommended. Upon entry, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server made great recommendations and they were spot on! The portion sizes were great as well. I had the shrimp and tacos, and my friend had the burgers. All were super delicious! I definitely want to come back and try their brunch.

When you walk into the place it feels like you are being invited into a home. The customer service is just like that. The wood tables and stools are actually comfortable. Nice music in the background and the painted murals on the walls is cool. The salad was delicious. The salmon was seasoned just right. It was enough of a salad for two servings. I'd highly recommend this place.

My first visit here was on my birthday in 2025. I tried the Woodward wings with buffalo sauce and the spinach dip and I couldn't stop thinking about it ever since! I decided to go solo this past Sunday during brunch and it was lit. They had a live DJ and the throwback music was everything. This time I tried the shrimp n grits with a side of scrambled eggs and the Boozy punch and that little punch had me leaning okayyy?! I loved the energy of this place both times. I would recommend you get there early if you are doing brunch or make a reservation (if you can get one). I will definitely be back for the food and vibes!!

A lil on the spicy side but pretty tasteful and fulfilling app for happy hour. I would order again. Spent a Saturday early evening at the bar and it was pretty crowded. Reservations were encouraged for table seating. Staff were nice.

From the moment I walked in, the ambiance transported me to a beautiful Mediterranean garden, with its gorgeous tiled floors, lush greenery, and warm, inviting atmosphere. It felt like a refreshing escape right in the middle of Detroit's historic cobblestone streets. It was the perfect setting for a long-overdue reunion with my sorority sisters, and Supergeil was incredibly accommodating, hosting our group of 14 women in the middle of Grand Prix weekend without missing a beat. We kicked off the evening with a few appetizers to share, including the hummus, deviled eggs, and meatballs. Everything arrived quickly and was an instant hit around the table. The standout was definitely the hummus, served with fresh, homemade pita that was unbelievably soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The meatballs were also delicious, perfectly tender, juicy, and well seasoned. For my entrée, I ordered the popular lamb and beef döner, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The portion was generous and beautifully presented, overflowing with crisp vegetables, fresh lettuce, garlic sauce, hot sauce, and the most tender, savory lamb and beef. Around the table, others enjoyed the Turkish ravioli with spiced beef and pork, more döner, and a variety of salads. Everyone loved their meals, and we couldn't resist passing plates around to sample a little of everything. It's the kind of restaurant that's perfect for sharing and enjoying with a large group. And what would a girls' night be without cocktails? If you're a fan of Two James spirits like I am, you're in for a treat. The bartenders create incredibly inventive cocktails from a seasonally rotating menu. I stepped outside my comfort zone and ordered the Open Kettle, made with coffee infused Doctor Bird Rum, cola reduction, coconut cream, and Underberg. It was unlike anything I've ever had! It was rich, tropical, complex, and with just the right kick. It's an absolute must try. Another crowd favorite was the Purple Gang, featuring lavender vodka, lemon, and butterfly pea tea, which gave it the most stunning purple hue. To finish the night, we ordered all three desserts to share: the burnt sugar tres leches, strawberries and cream, and the hot brownie with cinnamon ice cream. My favorite was easily the tres leches. It was light, creamy, and perfectly balanced with the crunch of burnt caramel and the subtle sweetness of coconut, it was a creative twist on a classic dessert. The warm brownie with cinnamon ice cream was pure comfort and a chocolate lover's dream, while the strawberries and cream offered a lighter finish with sesame brittle and hibiscus, creating a unique combination that reminded me of an elevated granola paired with a glazed donut cream. From the beautiful atmosphere and attentive service to the creative cocktails and delicious food, Supergeil delivered an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're planning date night, catching up with friends, or celebrating with a large group, it's definitely a spot worth adding to your Detroit restaurant list.

And, when I say that not a single bite was chewy, I know that because we finished every bit of it. My burger was a half pound of ground prime rib. This might be the best hamburger I've ever had in my life, and I have eaten a lot of excellent burgers. It was so good that my wife kept taking bites of it.
