Food - excellent. Service wonderful. Ambiance - calm, serene, relaxing, quiet. Small-town feel. Romantic. BYOB. Would like a wider menu or some interesting specials. Would have liked to see a few more interesting dishes / something with more acid. Lobster bisque had real lobster chunks, mahi mahi was cooked perfectly and made even more wonderfully flavorful with generous saucing on the plate. Scallops and shrimp were cooked to perfection and very tasty. The goat cheese tart was a lovely taste. Texture could have been lighter and crispier, but it was still a highlight, and mad love to the greens that came with it. We enjoyed the sunset and each other as we had a lovely dinner. I definitely recommend this place. As a bonus, it's BYOB.

Amazing owners who truly care about guests and guests love them too! Take time to slow down, relax and Enjoy a special day or evening here. Great creative food that they can customize per allergies. Indoor or outdoor seating. Blue Bottle serves the BEST tasting desserts and the presentation is superb! FATWS

After having this place on my bookmark for quite some time now finally decided to give it a try. So glad we did. Went there with my boyfriend for a dinner date. Thought the place was cute. Service was on point. The food was cooked well, good portions, and reasonable prices. My boyfriend was also pleased with his dinner and might I add he is very hard to please. Definitely will be back.

Everything was absolutely amazing! The sauce for the venison was absolutely incredible. The meat was cooked perfectly. I was concerned the tart would have too much Brie, but it was perfect. Gnocchi were perfect crispy little pillows in an amazing creamy sauce. I had the financier the last time I was here without the bananas and like it a lot better, but it was still an absolutely delicious dessert.

This small venue off the beaten path near Princeton is a true gem. And the BYO is an nice plus. Came here with a small group of clients from as far north as Hoboken and as far south as Wynnewood PA - an hour away in each direction. Both said the drive was well worth the effort. The ambiance is warm and French country-ish and serves as a great backdrop to a terrific menu. Serve was spot on. Invisible except when needed and anticipating every need. Our group had lots of questions, and one member of our party changed several components of his dish - all handled with a "no problem" and a smile. The "truffled" cream of Porcini mushroom soup was outstanding and a great starter. I moved on to a wild boar duo - a perfectly grilled chop and two nice-sized house-made sausage links. The sides - spaetzle, gruyere and pilsner fondue, pretzel crumble, garlic spinach, and a sauce Charcutiere knocked it out of the park. I wiped my plate clean. Sadly, it's a solid 2 hours and 15 minutes from my home, but I plan to take an overnight with my wife so we can enjoy this wonderful spot together.

Let's be honest--I come here for one reason: the soufflés. They are my kryptonite. Sweet or savory, they never disappoint. I've had the chocolate (rich, decadent, flawless), though I'm still chasing my ultimate favorite--the elusive Grand Marnier soufflé. One day... Beyond that: * Mussels + champagne = always a win * Service is warm and welcoming * Prices feel fair for the quality and experience This place has become part of my ritual when I'm in the area. I'll fly into Newark Liberty International Airport, hop on the Amtrak Acela, get off in Princeton, head straight here, and yes--plan my trip around a soufflé. No regrets. The location is perfect--right in the heart of Princeton, which is one of those charming, walkable towns with tree-lined streets and that classic, almost European feel. There's garage parking nearby, but honestly, once you're there, you won't need your car. Perfect for: * Date night * Dessert and champagne with friends * Solo bar seating (highly recommend) Bottom line: Elegant, cozy, and worth going out of your way for--especially if you love a proper soufflé. Life's too short not to eat well. Go make it happen.

Food was delicious (five original, creative, tasty courses), service was outstanding (the wait staff could not have been any better), the ambiance (décor, surroundings) was perfect. We've been there several times for dinner (just the two of us, and always enjoyed it), but never for a major event. Chef Salvatore worked with us to fine-hone the menu (appetizers, salad, pasta course and dessert were served family style; main courses were individual [and there were about five choices guests could choose from]), and it was all as good as it could possibly have been. All the guests we're blown away with the quality of the food and how it was served - it all felt so personal and unique. Our guests were our adult children, some relatives-who-are-friends and other couples, some of whom we have known for 40 years, and some for just a few. And it all worked perfectly. So, I am so happy to recommend Vidalia (in Lawrenceville NJ, just off Route 206, the main drag) to anyone planning a dinner party in the future. ...

Let me tell you - Chef Brian did not disappoint with his three-course price fixed dinner. There is SO much to pick from, it was near impossible to choose. What was even more amazing is you can do the standard size dish or a smaller version depending on how hungry you are. And no, it's not lunch prices and sizes. It's genius for a multi-course meal. The highlights from our meal- - The staff: seriously. Shout out to them. So welcoming from the start. Never rushed us. Asked us if we needed a break before jumping in to dessert. Attentive without being overbearing. A difficult balance they executed flawlessly. - Sea scallops with black truffle risotto: sensational. I would have licked my bowl if that was acceptable - Squid puttanesca: it's a fine line between undercooked squid til it turns rubbery, and this was an exceptional cook. - Pork tenderloin: flavorful and so moist - Rack of lamb with leeks: a jus you never knew you needed. - Bread pudding: unsung hero of the desserts. The property feels like a slice of the French countryside, with charming architecture, manicured gardens, and scenic views that make the atmosphere romantic, peaceful, and perfect for a date night or a special celebration. *AMBIANCE* The ambiance is exceptional and worth seeing at least once. There is a parking lot right next to the restaurant. The weather wasn't great when we came, but there is a very scenic patio area overlooking Monet's Bridge and the pond. We came with reservations but had a bit of a wait even though there were some empty tables. Additionally, we were celebrating a special occasion but that was not acknowledged anywhere so it felt slightly underwhelming. *FOOD* The food was well-prepared and several dishes were enjoyable. For starters, we tried the petites bouchées de poulet ($22) which are bite sized pickled buttermilk fried chickens, though the portions were small for the price. I got the coffee crusted 1855 bone-in beef short rib ($42) which was very delicious. The meal was good, but I was not blown away by the food. *SERVICE* Service was courteous and professional. There was a slight delay where the sides arrived a bit later with our entree, but other than that service was attentive. Overall, worth checking out once for the beautiful location but just keep in mind at this price point, you are paying more for the ambiance than the food itself.
