    Rack of Lamb
    Jackie D.

Dined at Blue Lion and overall had a good experience. The standout dish was the rack of lamb. We shared it between five people as an appetizer and it was easily the best item we had. Very flavorful and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend ordering it. I also ordered the trout, which unfortunately did not live up to the rest of the meal. It lacked flavor and was the weakest dish at the table. On the plus side, they have a solid drink selection. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so reservations are recommended. We walked in without one and were seated within about thirty minutes. The wait was spent in the lounge area, which was cozy, and they served drinks while you wait. Overall, worth visiting, especially for the lamb.

5 stars. No notes. Absolute culinary witchcraft. Listen... I am NOT a lamb guy. Lamb and I have historically had a very casual, distant relationship. But the server convinced me to order the signature rack of lamb at The Blue Lion and I swear it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my entire life. I'm not exaggerating when I say I almost cried at the table. At one point I stopped talking entirely and just stared at the plate like I was having a spiritual experience. Was it expensive? Yes. Did they offer my wife a birthday dessert? They did not. Did I briefly consider licking the plate in public anyway? Also yes. None of it matters because that lamb transcended earthly cuisine. I will be 87 years old in a rocking chair still whispering about "that lamb in Jackson Hole." I don't know what dark culinary pact was made in that kitchen, but I support it fully. I swear... I will dream about that lamb.

    I love this!

We weren't planning on coming to The Blue Lion during our trip to Jackson. We had made reservations at a different restaurant but about 2 weeks out, we got a call from that restaurant that there was some sort of emergency and they had to close. I really wanted our anniversary dinner to be special and the next restaurant on the list was The Blue Lion. I have one regret about coming to The Blue Lion, and that's that I didn't choose it first. I should have. This restaurant was amazing! Walking in, this was the first restaurant we encountered that offered to take our jackets for us. Not only did they take our jackets, but they were not charging for it. The person at the door did not ask for our names, she already knew who we were and greeted us so warmly for our anniversary. When we got to the table, I almost cried, there was a card with a lovely note for us. These small touches mean so much to me, I can't thank this restaurant enough for caring about it's customers and giving us an amazing first anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful, with a lot of nice blue touches, including some lions around the place. I can see why people like the outside terrace in the summer, it's really large. Our server was also really nice and made us feel really comfortable. He wasn't as attentive as I think he'd like to be but he was also the only server working. The person who greeted us at the door (who I think may have been the manager) was the one to refill our waters. The cocktails here were hands down the best we had all weekend. Seriously, they know how to whip up a cocktail here. That huckleberry lemon drop? Stop! You have to get this. Beyond yummy! Also, they were made by the person who met us at the door. She was flipping fantastic and they are lucky to have her. The food here was also amazing. We happened to be here during the off season and there was a "tasting" menu where you can order small bites of their popular dishes. I loved this concept and we were able to try more things than we normally would have ordered. They gifted us with the mud pie at the end of the night. Perfect dessert to end a fantastic evening.

Really nice dining experience. Pre dinner drinks in the front parlor off the bar. Service was good. Ambience was relaxed. Had a guitar instrumentalist playing classic rock tunes. Food was outstanding! Pricey but worth every penny.

An absolute gem in Jackson Hole! We've been struggling to find a truly outstanding restaurant and The Blue Lion did not disappoint. We had the Rack of Lamb that was out of this world and the Elk which you could eat with a fork. If you're in the area, this is a must visit!

Another fantastic dinner at The Blue Lion! Their signature entree, the lamb chops, continues to be the best I've had. And mint jalapeño jelly served with lamb just brings everything into alignment and taste buds cry with delight. Whenever you visit Jackson Hole, this is a must experience restaurant. Set in an older house, the delightful ambiance will set you at ease and make you feel like you are home. The service was outstanding as usual with the staff attentive and pleasant without being overbearing. I will always come back to eat at The Blue Lion!

Trout dusted with curry on a bacon potato hash. Wonderful, balanced, flavor-forward meal.

We had the most special meal last night at the Blue Lion. From the moment we walked in we were taken by: the kind greeting, the acoustic guitar in the living room, and the cozy vibe on a snowy night. Everything we ordered was exquisite-- espresso martini, the stuffed mushrooms (to die for), and our entrees. Compliments to the chef for rendering a really special meal that we'll never be able to duplicate. The tenderloin medallions were perfect (melt in your mouth) and the preparation on the menu (blue cheese crab reduction) was flawless and didn't overpower the flavor... just added light, nuttiness to the dish. The trout was incredible. I was a little intimidated by the menu description, but the curry dusting drew out the natural sweetness of the fish. It was perfectly prepared and I ate every bite. Wonderful meal. Wonderful service by Petko. Sarah, the manager checked in frequently to make sure we loved everything and we did. It was a really special evening and we loved every moment.

What an amazing little gem in Jackson, WY. This place has a very cozy atmosphere, wonderful service and great food. Elk was cooked perfectly, elk pasta was the best comfort food and so good. They had me at "let us take care of you", not rushing us and letting us know we could relax and enjoy our dinner. They definitely know how to make a cocktail, and the service is above and beyond. Sarah was a breath of fresh air and just delightful. Recommend and will definitely be returning.

Walking up, the outside is very unassuming, even to the point that I almost second guessed our decision, but don't let that deter you. The inside is half wine shop liquor store, half intimate tapas wine bar. There's several long tables for communal dining and a few spots at the bar. During happy hour, all of their drinks are half off as well as their burratas and cheese plates. I got a nice dry rose which was fantastic. For an early evening bite, we got the fried artichokes and the mushroom burrata plate and both were excellent. Overall, this is a cozy spot to bring a friend, a date, or even your parents. The food is fantastic and the drink selection is sure to please everyone. I believe they will also allow you to purchase a bottle at their store to open and drink at the restaurant (corking fee may be required). A hidden gem for sure. Turns out Cloudveil is only open between June-ish and before winter, and I came late May 2026 so they weren't open yet. However, the nice folks at the bistro were able to serve me without a reservation (restaurant was about 2/3 full). The food was a little high but not crazy for a sit down restaurant and given I wasn't all that hungry, it was the perfect amount of food. They serve fresh bread with butter spread before your entree and it is so, so lovely! I ended up getting one of their appetizer salads with fresh fruit on a bed of roast veg, and I got two drinks - the "Rose French 75" ($16 - has alcohol) and "the inversion" ($11 - mocktail version of the "Jackson fog" cocktail). I can genuinely say both drinks but particularly the inversion were two of the best drinks I've had; the flavor was perfectly sweet, just a bit floral, and distinct from any other drink I've had (which is something I love to experience!). They paired great with the salad and the bread. They were also sweet enough I didn't even need dessert (although the huckleberry cheesecake and the bread pudding were tempting). I would go here again just to get another inversion mocktail if nothing else. It's a lovely place to have dinner and just enjoy the ambiance near Jackson square - highly recommend!!

Dressed up and on reservation, we arrived a tad early and were promptly greeted. Maybe hospitality isn't Wyoming's forte, but all of the staff did not seem happy to see nor serve us from the beginning. The booking site only offered high top tables, so that's what I selected. When the hostess asked if we'd like to switch to a table, she was sternly corrected in front of us that it "wouldn't be possible" by another staff member. The interaction felt unprofessional in front of guests, and as if they weren't willing to accommodate us. On top of that fiasco came plenty of glares and stares from staff throughout our visit. Crawfish & Dumpling - 9/10 For the table. Pungent; a few bites satisfy. I've never had crawfish in this setting. Perfect gnocchi. Delicious all around. Oyster Shooter - 8/10 Fairly priced, fresh. Nice bloody mary. Rabbit Ravioli - 6.5/10 Stingy portion of meat. Ravioli is just okay. The fried carrot nest was fun but it was too much for the serving. It's a carrot salad with a bite of meat and maybe 5 ravioli. Bar Steak - One came overcooked and one under. Sides were mediocre. Uninteresting mashed potatoes. Our waitress tried to take our order almost immediately after being seated. She visited few times after ordering. With a 5:30 reservation, we left by 5:57 thanks to the small portions and staff seeming to rush us out. In a tourist destination, I would imagine better hospitality and warmth from local workers. Not many smiles here. I typically tip well, but they didn't seem to want us there and the experience really dampened my entire party's mood.

While the previous restaurants mentioned are a bit more upscale, Gather is on the more casual side. It's located right at the base of Snow King mountain so you can look out at the mountain. Most of all - the food here was amazing. We are from NYC and are self proclaimed "foodies" - so we don't say it lightly when we say that the chef/menu here was super eclectic in the best way possible. He infused flavors from all different cuisines from Mediterranean to Korean -- without anything feeling overpoweringly ethnic. The pork buns were a 10 - unlike most restaurants that use a chunk of pork belly, it seemed like they cubed pork from the rib and it tasted more like eating a delicious spare rib from a Chinese restaurant - without the fat you often get in a traditional pork belly bun. The Fresno peppers accented the sweetness of the buns brilliantly. For entree my wife had the elk bolognese which was superb. The papardelle had a perfect chew (maybe made in house?) and the meat / sauce itself was wonderful. The real showstopper here though was the pork ribeye. I've had plenty of good pork chops but this was something completely different. This cut and its preparation was unbelievably tender and juicy - it melts in your mouth like a piece of wagyu steak. I truly did not think you could achieve this level of tenderness from a pork. The flavors around it were incredible and it was genuinely one of the best dishes I've ever had - anywhere - period. Kudos to the chef for this masterful creation. If you even marginally like pork - please do yourself a favor and get this!! Lastly - shout out to ELLA, our server, who was kind and warm and honest and attentive throughout the whole meal. One of the best servers we had on our entire trip - she was amazing! We were lucky enough to get last minute seating at the bar - likely because it was a Monday night. We walked here from our hotel (Cloudveil) which only took 5-7 minutes. It's a quaint restaurant that keeps it's mountain town essence as the space is a converted home with an outdoor patio facing the quiet neighborhood street. While the food is elevated it doesn't feel pretentious and maintains a laid back local's feel despite alot of tourists stopping by. While we love cocktails and were impressed with the menu, we were in a wine mood. They have a petite selection of wines by the glass but there's plenty of bottles to choose from. For appetizers we were in the mood for light and refreshing, so the bartender recommended the caesar salad with fresh anchovies. It was perfect for us to share and we loved it. He also mentioned the pasta was house made, so we knew we had to try it. We ordered the fusilli which was so flavorful in spite of being a very simple dish. Our neighbors sitting next to us ordered it first and said it was some of the best they've ever had and they're from NY and have high standards. We really enjoyed it. Lastly, we usually always say no to desert but when in Jackson! The house made panna cotta was perfection - not too sweet. This is a must stop visit for your trip to Jackson.
