Other times I'm just in the mood for a cocktail that reminds me why I don't waste my time at places that think whiskey and cola is "craft." This visit was all about the cocktails, and Seven Grand absolutely delivered. Josh, our bartender, was running the room like a conductor leading an orchestra of happy whiskey drinkers. He asked what we liked, made a couple of recommendations for Old Fashioneds based on our preferences, and absolutely nailed it. Every drink was balanced, flavorful, and dangerously easy to sip. The guy knows his whiskey, knows his cocktails, and somehow still manages to make everyone at the bar feel like they're his only customer. The whiskey selection is enough to make a bourbon nerd lose all sense of financial responsibility, but surprisingly, we escaped without needing to refinance the house. If Josh doesn't own Seven Grand, someone should probably look into fixing that. Until then, I'll keep showing up to "try just one drink"... knowing full well that's a lie I tell myself every single time. Highly recommend. There was no one in the place on a Monday night so we sat at the bar and began chatting with Rob, our bartender. Rob was so fun! We had a great conversation with him. A few other couples came in and out, grabbing a drink or two it was pretty quiet. The drink was perfectly balanced. I don't blame these employees for this long wait but the company and management. They were both very stressed, kind, working hard, and were apologetic for the timing. This is a busy time and they could clearly use another employee, it is unfair to put these two employees in such a difficult and stressful position. We got a lavender latte and their raspberry special. Both had great flavor but were very sanguine (and we like sweet things). I would recommend requesting partial sweetness.
