They had a lot of construction going on ( May 2026 ) so they were serving out of the 217 wine bar. Seating was scattered and not well for a resturant setting. But, it was not bad. Had a lovely lunch with friends and I highly recommend the Butter Head Salad! Asparagus, Peas, Artichoke, Sliced Radish, and Pumpernickel Crumble with Gorgonzola Dressing. It was delicious! Thank you.

We came to Stanley hotel on a sunny spring Saturday at 3:30 for their last lunch seating. The atmosphere is old fashioned worldly. The staff are friendly and professional. We had to ask the waiter for a glass for the beer we ordered. I had the fish tacos ($20) which was bursting with flavors from the pickled onion, cilantro, lime and cabbage. Delicious! My husband had the prime rib sandwich with sour dough bread. It came with lots of beef and a side of fries. ($24). They automatically add a 3% historical preservation fee to the bill. It was still a good value and we'll be back.

Stayed at the Stanley and visited Cascades a number of times. They have an amazing whiskey collection and offer flights. We had a great time waiting for an uber to the wedding we were headed to while hanging out in the rustic but upscale bar. Not to mention an enjoyable night cap after the wedding while having great conversation with the bartenders and other patrons (about whiskey). Heaven Hill was the poison we picked. We also visited for breakfast and my egg and hash were cooked perfectly. Not to mention, I could tell the sausage was artisan. I also had a lavender mimosa which was a nice twist on a classic brunch drink. I would love to try dinner here next!

Made the mistake of ordering the dry aged ribeye. The most dry "medium-rare" aged steak in my opinion. I rarely give a one or two star review, but it was the way they handled it that warranted this review. Cutting the steak, noted the color, then sliced through the whole steak: 40% well-done, 20% charred, and 40% medium well. Being a pricey cut, I asked for another. The waiter told me I was mistaken and he was as tough as the steak. I said "fine" then he realized I was annoyed, said something and came back with the check for us to settle our bill. Being a rare parents night out for my birthday, we realized we only ordered one entree to split and asked to order something else, still hungry. That point a manager came, we explained, they brought us a menu and we waited another 20 minutes. At that point the Food and Beverage Director came out with a raw piece of meat to give me a lecture on dry aged steak. I told him I understood but I still felt, having had many before, that it was just over cooked and would have liked another or something else. By this point the night was awkward. They still charged us, but gave a small discount. (Pics attached) Amazing ambience and loving our stay at the Stanley Hotel. Too bad the quality of food and service at this restaurant didn't match up with the rest of the hotel.

Ok this time around it was better! We stopped in just for a snack and some drinks with friends for my mom's birthday and it was a much better experience. Our waitress was super nice and kind gal. All of our drinks were great and we all had different things. For food we got the chili, charcuterie board, and blueberry bread pudding for my mom's birthday dessert. The chili was very good and we all loved it. The charcuterie board had a lot of options and the cheeses and meats all tasted great! Ok the blueberry bread pudding should be illegal because it was phenomenal and was crazy good. It tasted just like a blueberry and mixed with the ice cream it was a different level. It varies visit to visit I guess with how your experience will be here.

My husband surprised me for Valentine's Day with a trip up to The Stanley Hotel for a late lunch at 2pm, and it was such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was beautiful and romantic -- the perfect setting for a special day. We started with the pork belly appetizer, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion had plenty of meat, and the cut was incredible -- perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I ordered the Cobb salad, which was fresh and well balanced, and my husband had the French dip, which he really enjoyed. Everything was prepared beautifully and tasted great. To finish, we had the crème brûlée, and that was definitely my favorite part of the meal! It was the perfect sweet ending to a lovely afternoon. We had a great experience

After our tour of The Stanley, we planned to have lunch in the main dining room. Mostly for the novelty (total The Shining fans!). Our expectations were low based on reviews! Definitely exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed our food and cocktails! We had a wonderful server (Joel).that explained and recommended so many items on the menu. The meats are locally sourced and some smoked onsite. We started with cocktails and an appetizer of Brussel Sprouts, all excellent. For entrees, two of us had Prime Rib Beef Dips with fries and the third ordered the Bison Burger with fries! Great choices! Cocktails consisted of a dirty Martini and a Stanley Old Fashion (with an amazing cherry). Highly recommend going to The Cascades. Great food, service, and a novelty to dine at The Stanley!

I saw that Cascades Restaurant had a Prime Rib French Dip on their lunch menu and knew I had to try it - it did not disappoint. The sandwich was huge! The meat was plentiful and great flavor. Apparently, they smoke many of their meats in house. The chicken wing plate was a fair price - delicious as well. The dry rub was great. The pork belly also had great flavor and cooked to perfection. Our entire dining experience was amazing today! Big thanks to Joel for going through the menu with us and for the laughs. Exceptional service! We will definitely return!

Had an amazing experience here eating on the patio. All of the food was fantastic. The staff was wonderful and quick. Loved being able to dine at this historic location.

The prime rib, ordered medium rare, was raw. The bison ribeye was so chewy it was inedible. It took forever to cut the smallest pieces. The broccolini and potatoes lacked any seasoning whatsoever. The spinach artichoke "dip," more like a casserole, was passable. Overall, for the prices they're charging, Outback Steakhouse does it better, and that's not props to Outback. Golden Corral would have been better. It just didn't taste good either. We're tried to power through, but gave up after five minutes. I can see why they get so many one star reviews. The atmosphere is great, but not the food. High prices don't make for better quality. You're basically trapped at the hotel at night, so it's sadly the only option other than starving. Avoid and plan ahead if staying at the Stanley Hotel. I have never been this thoroughly disappointed in years.

We had a fantastic experience at the bar here. The bartender was fabulous and gave us amazing customized recommendations based on what we liked. He also told us about the bar's history and architecture. The whiskey selection was top-notch, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The lamb lollies were also so good, and it was cool seeing photos on the wall of where ingredients were locally sourced.

It was good, I can't complain about that. I've had better- ESPECIALLY for the price. The atmosphere is loud rowdy bar, that was a little bit of a turn off. Otherwise it was fine.... But for $200 for two people without alcohol... it should be better than fine.

We came here twice during our stay at the Stanley - once for cocktails upon our arrival, and again for dinner after the ghost tour. We were excited to be here because of its Hollywood history - aside from Stephen King conceptualising 'The Shining' at the Stanley, the hotel was used as the Aspen hotel in 'Dumb & Dumber', and the bar scenes were filmed at Cascades. "She has DINNER!" The cocktails were great. They were pricier, as expected, so we ordered special drinks, all 'The Shining'-themed: 217 Spritzer and Redrum Punch, plus a round of 217 Ale by the local Estes Park Brewery. The bartender was friendly and efficient, and the bar looked pretty much as I remembered it from 'Dumb & Dumber'. The framed moonlanding article prompting Jim Carrey's ad-lib in the film still hangs! Our meal there pleasantly surprised us. We'd planned to go out in Estes Park after our ghost tour, but we were tired and woozy from the altitude, so we decided to just stay in and try Cascades for dinner. We were expecting mediocre food at outrageous hotel prices. Again, prices were indeed higher, but the items we chose were phenomenal. I had the pappardelle bolognese, a huge portion of extra creamy, rich meat sauce and giant fresh noodles. My boyfriend chose the elk, bison, and wild boar meatloaf, served with whipped potatoes and steamed broccoli. Both were delicious, high-quality dishes. We have no desire to stay at the Stanley again (it is truly spooky and unsettling to sleep there), but if we ever return to Estes Park, we'd definitely come back to Cascades.

I do appreciate the size though as you never know how hungry you are going to be after a long hike especially in this altitude. We went with the turkey sandwich and added cheese, all kinds of toppings and a spread. These sandwiches were very tasty and all the veggies on the sandwich were so fresh. Their baked goods looked so inviting especially the cinnamon rolls. I will have to come back! Service was efficient and helpful. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when they are busy. After one of my go-to nearby restaurants closed down, I decided to venture here for a burger. This place rocks! Boss Burgers and Gyros reminds me of a classic dive that we all know and love. Nothing fancy, no frills, no fuss, no pretentiousness, just tasty food at an affordable price. You order at the counter and the cashier gives you a table number. Plenty of outdoor seating with some indoor seating as well. This place gets pretty busy, but the staff hustles. Kitchen is cranking out relatively quick ticket times so you don't have to wait that long at all. For a cheeseburger with bacon and jalapeños and an order of cheese fries, this was $14 and change. And I added the bacon and jalapeños to the burger! In Denver, this would be $25, haha. The cheese fries (small) were really enough for two people. So you get your money's worth after a day exhausting yourself at RMNP. Burger was great. I added some mustard to mine at the table. It comes with LTO, ketchup, and mayo. This tastes like what you want at a backyard BBQ. Served on a red plastic tray with paper lining, this mom and pop place dishes humble food without breaking the bank. Bacon was crispy, cheese was melty, I had no complaints! Only knock on the cheese fries were that they desperately needed salt. It's not the best burger place of all time, but it doesn't need to be. The tomatoes slid right off every time I tried to take a bite. It was just severely under-seasoned and really didn't have any flavor at all.
