    Ahi tuna on salad
    Natalie S.

The restaurant is large, it has outdoor & indoor seating, as well as a bar area. Unfortunately the outdoor seating doesn't really have a direct view of Lake Paupack. We sat inside at a large booth. They have a full cocktail menu. The women sitting behind us ordered a pumpkin cocktail. Their menus is big, lots to choose from. Appetizers included wings, eggplant stack and more. Entrees include salads, soup, burgers, and full entrees. My aunt had the eggplant stack and liked it. I had ahi tuna on salad, the tuna was fresh, delicious and came with a homemade ginger dressing. My uncle enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana served on a large bed of spaghetti. The serving was quite large

There are a lot of terrible reviews for this restaurant, but I don't think the one and two star ratings are warranted. Service is a little lackluster (it took us almost 10 minutes to get seated on a slow Tuesday afternoon). Food is fine but not gourmet (our buckhorn sandwich was under salted and a tad bland, though improved with mustard). And the setting is not as "waterside" as I expected (technically you can see the water from a couple of tables on the patio, but the water is pretty far away and mostly obscured by trees in the summer). All that being said, once our waitress noticed us, the service was quick, and the food was inoffensive, which is three stars in my book (and for the record I consider myself a pretty tough critic). They also have a nice area where you can play Cornhole and rings while you wait, and dogs are allowed on the patio.

Great service - staff were attentive and our food was bought to the table quick. We ordered fried calamari appetizer, Wally sliders, fish & chips, and two beers. Calamari was amazingly delicious with the pickled peppers. The Wally sliders and fish & chips were good and portions were just right. Best of all, The Boathouse Restaurant is dog friendly!

My husband and I stopped at The Boat House, Hawley PA, for a late lunch today. This is one of our favorite venues in the area since it consistently offers great food and service. Julie was our server today who was very efficient and always with a smile. We both ordered the Buckhorn sandwich (with coleslaw sides) which as always was absolutely delicious. This restaurant is just a lovely venue, inside and out. The outdoor covered porch has ceiling fans to keep you cool and help keep the bugs away. You won't be disappointed stopping at the Boat House for lunch or dinner!

    Chicken Picato.

My husband and I was really looking forward in checking this spot and realized they had high ratings. Well I'm not sure what happened but this place is really overrated and hyped up for no reason. Let's start off with my family and I were placed near a window and it was beyond freezing they didn't turn up the heat [ which is a huge turn off since it was raining & cold outside ] . 2nd we decided to order appetizers and I usually always go for the French Onion soup well it was a little bit too salty , and the Calamaria tasted as if it was frozen and soggy. 3rd we ordered our entress : My husband asked the waitress if the burgers are made fresh or frozen patties . We were advised that they were homemade there well when Mt husband and my father received there food yes it looked amazing but they were frozen patties and burnt as well and barely had any flavor. I decided to order the chicken picato dish & I didn't really care for it , the chicken was really hard & the string beans tasted as if it came out of a frozen bag. We were all highly disappointed with this place!

Sandy clams... enough said. Service was alright, but when you're paying $12 for 3 clams, they probably shouldn't be gritty.

Friendly service, reasonable rates, decent food and a very good view. It's a decent restaurant for the Lake wallenpaupack area.

Ask the Community - The Boathouse

Is there Boat parking/docking for lunch?

Yes, but only a couple available for boathouse customers.

    Quality of food and service?

Service is good, food is inconsistent, one time I went there and loved it and the second time I wanted to puke.

The child that was serving us did not tell us that the kitchen was closing at 7:30pm on a Thursday and we could not order any food past this time. We tried to order an additional round of food at 7:40 and were told we could not. Thankfully, at that time we asked how to order takeout beer and they told us we better hurriedly go up to the main counter since it was last call for takeout beer as well. When we went to order crowlers of the beer that was not available for takeout in cans, the "bartender" audibly sighed before telling us each one would take 5 minutes to complete. Again, beer was great, food was great - shoutout to the kitchen for the curry ketchup specifically - front of house is hurting your business.

The lady came over and she said she was gonna comp my meal. I told her she didn't have to do that because I did eat the spaghetti, or atleast my son ate the spaghetti, so she gave me twenty percent off or at least she said she did, on my receipt, It says fifteen percent off. $2.70 off. Yeah, I don't think we're coming back here. I should have took the full comp off the meal. I was trying to be fair but in the end, I feel it wasnt fair at all. There was a whole piece chicken that wasn't cuttable or chewable. I posted on my facebook and people replies that the food wasn't so good here. I'm actually shocked at my own experience. Because usually when a parking lot is always packed. It's a good sign.

The place had a good vibe and was packed, so I assumed it had to be decent. Boy, were we wrong…read more It took almost an hour and a half to get two coffees, a bagel with cream cheese, and a premade meat quiche that was already sitting in the display case and only needed to be heated up. And the "meat" in the quiche was literally just tiny pieces of chopped-up frozen sausage. Absolutely not worth the wait. I've seen other people complain about waiting over an hour here, and after watching what was going on behind the counter, I completely understand why. The entire operation was unbelievably inefficient. If they had four bagel orders, you would think they would toast all four bagels at once and have someone else add the different toppings and fillings. Nope. They would toast one bagel, stand around waiting for someone else to finish another step, and only then start working on the next one. One woman ordered five sandwiches, and by the time they finished the last one, the first three or four were already cold. The tomatoes, avocado, and other cold ingredients made them even colder, so the staff had to take the sandwiches apart and reheat the bread. How does that even happen? Another guy ordered one salad wrap and waited over an hour. They told him they were understaffed, but there were clearly multiple employees behind the counter. The problem was that nobody seemed organized. Some employees were busy refilling stacks of cups and lids that were nowhere close to empty while a huge backlog of food orders was piling up. Most of the food here is assembly-based. They have a microwave, toaster, and convection oven. They are not cooking elaborate meals from scratch. At most, they are reheating precooked food, cutting up a few ingredients, and putting sandwiches together. There is absolutely no excuse for a bagel, two coffees, and a premade quiche to take nearly an hour and a half. The staff members we spoke to were nice enough, but the level of disorganization and inefficiency was completely unacceptable. I will never come back here again. Seriously, if you are in the area and have anywhere else to be that day, avoid this place.
