Is there a way to give a restaurant 6 stars? Cause I cannot even begin to explain how good of an experience this place gave me. You have the ability to sit outside, on a deck, watch fireworks, live performances, and while the wait staff brings out dinner rolls. What more can a man wish for? The drinks had a cute little rubber ducky. Could not forget to mention that. The overall branding of this place is fabulous. I may be a bit bias as I love ducks but it's undeniably cool. They even have cars that can drive in water. And one you can even eat at in the restaurant! I wrote all of that and didn't even mention how the food tasted. In short... fantastic! I finally found a restaurant that served exceptional fish. Something I thought would be quite easy in central Florida but I digress. While we may have over ordered on the sides the main entrees truly lived up to the billing (duck joke). I absolutely love the atmosphere here, it's a yatch country club feel with finesse and class. The service is always top quality with speed, accuracy, attention to detail and always friendly! The food is never far from perfect, the oysters Rockefeller is to die for with the hint of lemon and the freshness without being fishy. The beef carpaccio had to be my favorite this time around, the arugula salad was so flavor adding to the thinly sliced beef which made it a great combo! The bread rolls are free and come to the table a soon as you order drinks which I love. I personally love sitting outside to be able to get the vow of the river and the hot air balloon and just the overall vibe of being in a beach front restaurant without the beach. The Boathouse has a memorable setting. Dining on the water at Disney Springs feels special and the atmosphere is elevated without being pretentious. My boyfriend was more impressed with the experience than I was, especially the food. He loves lobster rolls and he was genuinely pleased. I liked mine, but I felt the kitchen could have done a better job with the details. The bread on the lobster roll was fine, but the table bread that came before the meal was exceptional. My boyfriend said it was the best bread he has ever had. If the kitchen had used that same bread for the lobster roll, the dish would have been on another level. The other miss was the side. Serving potato chips with an upscale lobster roll brings the dish down. Fries or even a small salad would make more sense. The restaurant should offer a proper pairing or at least a choice. These are small adjustments, but they matter. Service was phenomenal. Our server knew the menu, moved at the right pace, and lifted the experience. Disney restaurants rarely fail on hospitality and this meal confirmed that standard. Overall, The Boathouse is a strong pick at Disney Springs. After a long trip, I finally stopped at Disney Springs and hearing so much about this place I had to stop by! This place is beautifully located at the end of Disney Springs at the lakefront area where you can see the balloon and the boats go by the restaurant. The restaurant itself is really nice with both indoor and outdoor venues along with a mini boardwalk that reaches out with its own private bar area. In addition, they even have dueling pianos inside! Service here was maybe the most attentive we ever had! We a very friendly server along with an assistant who was always ready to go refill your waters even though it was already left on our table. We also had two managers come by to check up on us and left a card. They really did seem to care we got the attention we needed, even if it was more than we wanted. We started with iced tea, orange juice, and their complimentary bread. So good! The bread was decked out in cinnamon and was a good taste of what to come! We got the pipette pasta and Cobb salad. They were huge! We probably could have just gotten one dish to split! They were really good and flavorful! The pasta did end up feeling a bit "soupy" at the end but that wasn't the worst as it was tasty. Overall, this was a great experience and will definitely be back and highly recommend it! read more

The vibes and menu here looked great, so we tried this place out tonight. It was very busy, but we got in off the walk in line in less than an hour. The ambiance is great, we sat outside and the weather was perfect and we caught a small sunset. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and our service wasn't the greatest either. We never got our appetizer at all, and finally asked about our food after waiting an hour at the table and seeing parties who sat after us get their meals. They brought the food out shortly after that and some of the items were cold. They claimed they discounted the bill for the inconvenience- the only discount was the appetizer being removed (we never got this, so that's not a discount) and our discount from using our Disney Visa. I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend this for any of my friends or family. This is the first place we have a meal when we visit Orlando. They do take reservations but it books up pretty quick. If we can't get a reservation, we do try to find a seat at the bar. The sugar coated bread with butter they serve is so good! I love the shrimp boil and the fresh oysters!! They do have fresh stone crab but it's $37 a claw. I did like the sauce it came with. For entrees, the steak and eggs were fantastic. Steak was so tender and cooked medium rare. This was honestly one of our favorite parts of our trip to Disney World. We had reservations for Friday afternoon and stayed to ride the boat car ride. Everything about this visit was five stars. The wine and beverage selection was excellent and I have a sommelier education. My husband is a chef and thought all of the food was 10 of 10 stars. The kids meals came in adorable car boats, and my kids crushed the burgers which were made from a brisket, Angus beef blend. We got oysters and shrimp and the shrimp were colossal. We had a slightly longer wait than our reservation, but the gift shop had some fabulous finds for gifts for our family. I loved the little rubber duckies by the checkout. I got the fish special and it was indeed special, Florida tile fish with coconut rice and a fabulous sauce. My husband got the fish tacos and loved them. The kids got a great deal, dessert for five dollars. We got to go cocktails outside to take on our boat tour with our fabulous guide who gave us lots of interesting information. The cauliflower steak at The Boathouse is pretty much unimpeachable. The cauliflower itself is roasted to perfection, which is tough to do given the varied densities of the different parts of the vegetable. Meanwhile the oyster mushrooms and almond gremolata are honed complementary flavors and consistencies that vary the dish just enough. If I had one small nit, I'd have more of the gremolata atop the cauliflower. The dining room is pretty loud and the decor is somewhat garish (perhaps intentionally so) but these elements don't take away from a superior meal. The boathouse is in Disney Springs and we had always wanted to go to the piano bar. They have a dueling piano that starts at 8:30 at night and you can be seated right in the same room with them and it's kind of fun to watch. It's a fairly unique place with lots of old motors on the wall and boat accessories like oar's and bow lights and ships wheels and it has a correct craft ski boat that you can actually sit on and it has a table and chairs. We had a reservation for 830 and they found us a table quickly and we were seated in a good spot to watch the show and listen to the music. I ordered the ribeye steak, medium, and it comes with red potatoes and I ordered a side of macaroni and cheese. My wife ordered the shrimp boil, which also sounded impressive on the menu and believed me it was when it came to the table. We also had drinks. My wife had a Pinot Grigio wine and I ordered Makers Mark on the rocks. It came as a very generous poor and it was perfect. We listened to the band for quite a while and enjoyed the music and soon enough, our food arrived at the table. They served bread to us that was fairly outstanding. I could've made a meal out of the bread alone, but I'm glad I waited for my steak. I'm not sure which plate looked better. The steak or the shrimp boil because they were both outstanding in the presentation. Our server TJ looked at me from across the room and I gave him a thumbs up and held my glass up and he understood and brought us both another drink. Just what we wanted. My steak was cooked perfectly medium and I didn't even need steak sauce or anything else on it. It was very good and flavorful and tender and I pretty much ate the whole thing. The mac & cheese was good. It was just a very large portion for sharing and I took most of it home with me. My wife had the shrimp boil, and although she ate all of the shrimp, she did not eat all of the rest of the food. Lots of potatoes, corn on the cob and. Andouill sausage. I'm telling you the shrimp boil is big enough for two to share. At the end of it all they offered us dessert but we were both much too full to have anything like that but we did see some rather nice ones get served to other tables. I'll give it a big thumbs up. I was going to be in Disney Springs for one day so I did extensive research on the ~best~ restaurant in Disney Springs and The Boathouse was at or near the top of every list (often interchanged with Homecomin). I was lucky enough to get a last-minute 5:30 PM reservation for a Saturday night. Score! We arrived about five minutes late because we hadn't realized you now had to go through security when entering Disney Springs and all three members of our party got pulled for extra bag check (umbrellas, sunglass cases, and backup batteries all seem to set off the machines). We checked in at the host stand, but instead of being seated, we were told we would be texted when our table was ready. We ended up not being seated until after 5:45 PM. We were seated in one of the back rooms, and I concur with what most other reviews say--the tables are close together and the entire restaurant is LOUD. It's really a shame there's not an adults-only room or bar. And to be clear, I'm not suggesting the restaurant shouldn't be kid-friendly--this is Disney Springs after all--but the restaurants had about four or five different rooms. They have the space (and appeal) to make one quieter. The whole restaurant is, perhaps obviously, boathouse-themed, and very fun. The food was quite good, and definitely made the noise volume worth it. Highlights include the free house honey rolls (we asked for seconds!), the filet mignon sliders, and the firecracker shrimp. The filet mignon sliders come with three and were honestly a great price for the amount and quality of meat you receive. They were perfect for sharing among three people or would make an excellent meal for one. And I'm not even really a shrimp person but the firecracker shrimp with whatever delicious sauce they use were, actually, fire. We also got the Caesar salad, which was fine but nothing special, and the Cajun mac n' cheese, which I didn't love but my dining companions did. The desserts looked amazing--I had my eye on the GIANT key lime pie at another table--but Disney Springs is full of so many good things we opted to get a sweet elsewhere. One additional great aspect is that they give a military discount (I think it was 10%) in both the shop and the restaurant. Big thanks for supporting our troops! Ultimately, I would come back to this restaurant, and would love to sit outside (when it isn't raining, like when we visited). read more

I usually sit at one of the 3 bars ( no kids). I ordered, of course, and expresso martini. Those of you that had read my reviews know it's my go to drink. It's definitely for me the best at Disney Springs (vanilla vodka, liquor 43, Kailua and expresso. A must try. I also ordered a poke tuna..stacks of avocado and tuna with wonton chips and a side of asparagus. This comes with an awesome hollandise sauce. We had a reservation for a Saturday night. Once we were seated everything was smooth sailing, but the process of getting seating was a bit of a mess. You have to check in with the exterior hostess who will then text you once your table is ready. They then direct you to the interior hostess and you may be asked to stand aside for another minute while they do something. Then we were seated. It must be said- The rolls were amazing!! They put what tasted like a honey butter glaze on top of them that was to die for. My grouper sandwich was good. The pan roasted corvina was better- delicious! I wish the fries were a little hotter or crispier, but they were properly seasoned which was a plus. Huge kudos to the staff for taking allergies seriously. Other restaurants would probably communicate the allergen and ask you to switch to something else, but staff here went above and beyond to find an acceptable substitution for an allergen in what my friend ordered so that she didn't have to choose a different entree. Obviously depending on what you order that may not be possible to make an ingredient switch, but she ordered a salad so the swap was possible and their accommodation was appreciated! read more

This was our first dinner here in Orlando and out of all the exciting places to try in Disney Springs, we were happy we chose the Boathouse! I had a reservation for 5:15pm and we were seated quickly. Our table was inside but we could view outside onto the water and it was a lovely setting. Our waitress was wonderful and very sweet. We ordered a couple drinks and I really liked the Shipwreck cocktail. It reminded me of the Hurricane cocktail from Disneyland's Blue Bayou restaurant. The complimentary bread rolls with butter were so good. I'd honestly come back just for that because the bread was super soft and just melted in your mouth with the butter. I ordered the filet mignon sliders as my main course despite it being an appetizer. Absolutely delicious. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was very tender and juicy. There was no sauce or anything on it which I really liked because I got to enjoy the filet mignon flavor more that way. The Mac and cheese was good but not the best. It reminded me of a more elevated velveeta Mac and cheese. I love velveeta but this didn't give gourmet. The truffle fries were good but not as crispy as I'd like. My husband did enjoy his pan-crusted corvina fish. Overall, the ambiance, drinks/food, and service were all pretty amazing and I enjoyed my experience here. I haven't been here since they took the peel and eat shrimp off. I struggled finding something I would like off of the menu until I came for brunch! The biscoff cookie waffles and home fries were spectacular. I also got the calamari and it was SO SO good. I also enjoyed our server a lot. I will say I didn't like the live music. First and foremost the ambiance truly felt like you were on the beach! Our server was so nice and gave suggestions to guide our choices. Now let's get to the food! Coconut Shrimp: this was pretty good, 8/10 but i think there are some better appetizers. NY Steak and Frites: 10/10, I got a medium rare steak and it was PHENOMENAL, if you are craving steak get this!!! Crab Cake: 100/10, When I tasted this my jaw dropped. 90% real crab meat and you can taste it. Usually I have crab legs for Christmas, we didn't this year, and this gave me the fix I've been looking for. GET THIS IF ANYTHING. Coleslaw was ok....could have used a bit more flavor. Wedge: 10/10, this dish is hard to mess up, it was crisp and perfect So happy we chose this for our Disney Springs night! We sat outside! With everything at Disney, some foods can be hit or miss. A lot of people were saying that Boathouse really good so I was under the impression that I would be wowed. First off, the place is so dreamy. It is by the water and the views are immaculate. Looking through the menu, I was surprised but so excited to see that Boathouse is part of the Gibson's restaurants. We really enjoyed the Gibson in Chicago. At this point, my expectations were pretty high. We started off with the butter bread rolls.. I mean, who wouldn't fall in love with these sweet buttered Hawaiian rolls. I truly could eat a dozen of these. We originally had planned on sharing the filet mignon sliders and lobster roll; however, being that the complimentary bread were the rolls, we thought it might be a bit of overkill and just wanted to try different items on the menu. We ended up sharing the lobster roll and the grilled fish tacos. The grilled fish tacos were so well balanced. The fish was tasty and was charred so well. I wasn't too amused by the tortilla chips or the salsa that came with it. The salsa was like what you can get from a can. As for the lobster roll, it was super fresh and of a very generous portion. It was my first time seeing a lobster roll with tomato and truthfully, I could have done without. I ended up taking out the lettuce and the tomato because I felt like it took away from the delicious lobster. We really enjoyed our meat at the Boathouse and am so so glad it lived up to all the talk online. I definitely will still be thinking about the filet mignon sliders until next time. read more
