Love how close this location is to me!! No more having to drive to Rowland or garden grove I was craving seafood boil on a Friday night after work. We got there around 6 and for a party of 2 only waited about 15 min. Food and service were especially quick! Can't wait to come back

    Not saucy :(

We came here on a Sunday afternoon and sat outside. Gabriel helped us and he was very friendly and attentive. Outdoor seating was nice but they should put a shade or some sort of sunshade to block the suns direct sunlight. Food was just ok. Both seafood didn't have enough sauce. We were barely scrambling to get the sauce out of the shrimp and mussels bag. Mussels were over cooked and not debearded. Cajun chicken wings were just OK. Seasoning wasn't as flavorful. Fries were cooked perfectly.

We went for the grand opening on 6/2 around 6:30pm. The wait time was only 45 minutes to 1 hour. The shortest wait time we have had at any boiling crab. We got seated outside. The staff was very friendly but new. We ordered our usual, 2lbs shrimp with the whole shabang medium sauce, xxx the whole shabang sauce on the side, potato in butter, steamed rice, and 2 orders of fried catfish with cajun medium fries. They brought the rice out way before any other food came. Normally the timing is better so that we don't wait so long to actually eat it. Shrimp - these were okay. I think the combination of the sauce not being what we are used to and then then the shrimp peeling weird. Normally once peeled, they are still intact. These after peeled were slushy. They also had all sorts of gunk coming out of them. Normally we have a much cleaner shrimp. Catfish - these were good and also not so good. I don't think it was cooked evenly. The parts that were cooked correct were good and steaming hot. The parts thst weren't were rubbery. Unfortunately it was not just one piece that had this issue. Fries - perfect Service - the staff is super friendly. They were a little confused about what was still available and what wasn't, but honestly it was the first day, so that is okay. We would have liked to be checked in a little bit more though. But again, not complaining as it was the first day. Cleanliness- it was the first day and everything was sparkling clean. Overall we were pleased to see this place open up close to us. We love going but hate the drive. This location is perfect. I am hoping all these first day/week jitters come out and they improve an already impressive first day. I keep forgetting to mention my loyalty to receive points, but be sure to mention before you pay.

So happy we were able to make their grand opening. We waited for roughly ten minutes to be seated. We ordered our goodies with the famous Sha-Bang sauce and medium spicy. The service was phenomenal, Don and Jessica were the main ones assisting our table, but we had many others that checked on us throughout the experience. The restaurant vibes were energetic and lively. As always, parking in downtown Brea can get hectic...so anticipate it with a little patience!

We had the opportunity to attend a special event before the grand opening, and it was a fantastic experience! The service was excellent, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food came out fast. Everything we tried was delicious. We're especially excited to have The Boiling Crab so close to home here in Brea. Congratulations to the team on their grand opening today, June 2, 2026. Wishing them all the success and can't wait to come back!

Went to the grand opening at their newest location in Brea with a few family members . I heard it was the old laugh factory. The staff were really friendly and attentive and very helpful. This location is very spacious and has an outdoor patio as well. Theres a lot of parking in the area so parkings not an issue. We got a mixture of items from shrimp, king crab, crawfish, onion rings, the catfish basket and a few soft drinks. We also added sides of corn and potatoes into our seafood broils. Everything was great, we all enjoyed the big meal. Will definitely come again if im in the area. Much success at the new location.

The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. Our waiter graciously accommodated our request to have the egg on the side. Off the entrée/taco menu, my friend ordered the Korean tacos and I got the Ensenada (fish) tacos. But you can also order the Ensenada tacos with shrimp. These were delicious, I would have loved a little more lime crema to go with the fish - but not a big deal. I got a Watermelon Margarita. I wasn't expecting it to be HUGE, but it was the perfect amount considering how much food we as a pair ordered. My friend ordered the La Toxica table side cocktail and one additional mango cocktail. Table side cocktail was a whole show and my friend really enjoyed it. We had a great lunch at Tempo Cantina. I can't wait to try more of their bar menu, maybe even at night when the restaurant is lively

I was shocked by how good the prices are since the oysters were $1.50 for their house seasurf select, and the poke nachos were $7. The amount of poke on the nachos was really generous for the price, and was delicious. You order at the counter, receive a number, and then they bring the food out to you. Outside of the happy hour menu, my boyfriend got the lobster roll which came with fries and a coleslaw (which was not the usual mayo-based coleslaw, it was a lot better in our opinion). The lobster tasted great, too.

The cioppino is great with a lot of seafood in it, even has pasta in it but you would have to mix the pasta with the cioppino otherwise it has no flavor at all. Our only complaint is the uni oyster. We ordered it since it stated Santa Barbara Uni (imo the Santa Barbara and San Diego Uni are the best in the states). However, as you can see the the picture, the uni was sitting/soaking in the oyster juice that took out the sweetness of the uni and instead filled it with the salty seawater flavor. I hope they tried it themselves and find a way to solve this. Otherwise will not order this appetizer, it is $20 for 2 uni oysters, which is totally not worth it.

Staff member Manny recommended this dish to me. Oh my Lord,…read moredid the food taste WONDERFUL! He was RIGHT! The mahi mahi had a really nice flavor to it, but WASN'T fishy. The salad & especially the dressing was wonderful! The rice had a great flavor unlike any rice I've had at any other place. The tzaziki sauce with my plate was SO smooth, creamy, and not overbearing, so it made a nice little dip for the fish. (AND the cucumbers in the salad. AND the tomatoes in the salad!) My veggies were grilled and tasted VERY good. My friend ordered an app of French fries, and they were EXCELLENT! Tasty, crispy, not chewy at ALL. Bite into one, "CRUNCH!" and you have what they feel like. Dip 'em in ketchup, or tzaziki, or GARLIC SAUCE, or not at all! I ate a lot of them. I also tried my friend's garlic sauce. I am SO going to have to order some of that to go because it can go with ANYTHING! Pita brea, fish, French fries, wraps (yum!), chicken, shrimp, lobster, beef, lamb, it's too creamy and yummy! Not too garlic-y either! I took her little container home and I'm ashamed to say I got the last little bit of it with my fingers. It'd make a REALLY nice dip for raw veggies as well. I WILL be back with some friends and a family member or two.

I ordered the fish and chips (to go order) -- 3 pieces served with seasoned fries and coleslaw. The fish was good, but the fries had great seasoning was my favorite. There is also outdoor dining which is nice on a great day!!! My only complaint....fries should be in a bag not in the box. It got soggy when I got home!! Booo. Otherwise, over all yummy so come here to support local entrepreneur!!!

I love malatang and I've been on the search to find a new malatang places since the place I used to go to near me unfortunately closed down. I'm glad I tried this place because I come to brea mall so often so I'm glad I found a restaurant I can now go to if I'm ever at the mall. This is build your own bowl concept. You can either get soup base or stirfry. This place definitely has more options than the places I've visited from. They also have your own sauce station. For the broth, I chose "just a kick" which was perfect for me. It was a good spice and wasn't overly spicy. Absolutely delicious. I couldn't finish my bowl so I did get pack the rest for home and had it for lunch the next day and it was still delicious. There's a good amount of seating inside and few tables outside. You grab your own ingredients, build a bowl, and hand it over for cooking. The challenge is the pricing. Since you're selecting ingredients before they're weighed and charged, it's hard to know what you're spending until the end. The cost adds up quickly, and the final bill can be surprising. As for the food, it's alright. The broth does most of the heavy lifting. The ingredients themselves are fresh enough, but the flavor largely comes from the soup base they add at the end. The experience is simple and efficient--almost like an assembly line. Everything is self-service, and there isn't much interaction beyond the ordering process. I appreciate the concept and understand why it's popular. The customization is fun, and the hot bowl is satisfying on a cold day. But when I compare it to the price, I see it as only a small step above food court dining. Not bad. Not amazing. Just okay.

We decided to give it a shot because the menus and pics I was seeing on Yelp looked good. I feel deceived y'all!!! This spot was hyped up as another "Tempo" and I was hoping for a less loud, club-like vibe with good food and drinks. Apparently, they changed owners AGAIN just a few months ago. All of the legit Mexican items- gone! I was really bummed because Orange County really doesn't need yet another mediocre attempt at a vibey sushi spot that serves WARM FISH. * The bartender was great! I honestly felt horrible for the staff. They open at 3:00, and I came in at 4:00 to a literal graveyard. I really hope the guys who waited on us get out fast before this place goes down. I know their tips are probably not even $20/a day. * The sushi items were all warm. I got nauseous within the hour after consuming them. * By 5:00 only one other table had arrived and they were also shocked at the massive disappointment so they spent their time waiting for cocktails, on their phones trying to make arrangements to go to another restaurant. So within two hours, they had two tables. * Yelp is deceiving- their reviews are mostly for the old place. Their menu is a disaster right now. There's limited sushi, brisket sandwich, wings, and other weird hodgepodge selections of oddities. The interior is almost exactly the same as Taps. They kept all of the furniture and decor. Maybe this should be a tear down and star over. It's really sad because we could use an old school Mexican restaurant with mariachi's and Sunday champagne buffet brunch. Just look at how El Torito Grill in Brea kills it on Sundays. Taps used to kill it on Sundays too. Where are the smart investors?! Come save this spot!
