Had a quick lunch here with my husband. We were the only ones here our entire visit, so service was excellent. I had the "spicy" garlic noodles with sausage - loved them! I was expecting the usual garlic noodles I get from Asian restaurants, but this had such a unique flavor. Garlicky and cheesy, with some cajun flavors. Was it spicy? Not at all. Maybe they forgot to add the heat, but I was ok with it. The sausage was juicy and flavorful. Portion is large enough that I took 1/2 home for lunch the next day. Husband had their Hawaiian Shrimp Plate. It was supposed to come with pineapples, he didn't get any, and he was fine without them. His mac salad and rice were good. The shrimp unfortunately still had the shells on, which he wasn't expecting, and he wasn't happy about. He hates having to peel shrimp, so he was pretty turned off by this meal. He said he wished it was on the description on the menu, or that the waiter had told him. I tried the shrimp and thought it was good. He said he would never order this dish again. I would definitely get the noodles again, maybe a pound of their peeled/deveined shrimp, and their po'boys sound good too! Food: 4/5 I can mainly speak for the oysters because I come here during happy hour when oysters are $1.25 each. The oysters are bomb and very fresh and are usually a good size as well. I've eaten their shrimp boil and garlic noodles once before and they are okay, but I like the flavor of Kickin Crab better. The garlic noodles here are saucy and a spaghetti noodle vs the garlic noodles from Kickin Crab is egg noodles and drier, which tastes better. Service: 5/5 The times I go, it's always dead for the most part so service is pretty swift and I never had to wait for a table. Drove past this restaurant on the way to another restaurant lol, my boyfriend is a crawfish fanatic and decided he wanted to change plans. We parked at one of the public parking spots and enjoyed a nice walk to the restaurant. I will say the entrance of the restaurant isn't as readily available as it could be haha but that just might be a personal issue. The service was pretty good. We got there an hour and some change before closing. They were still very attentive and welcoming. Not sure if it was the time and day that we arrived but they seemed short staffed. They were 13.95. I'm usually not one to eat horseradish but there's was actually a great add on to my oysters! Mainly giving this spot a 4 because of the flavoring. When i opened my bag of shrimp the flavoring was all in chunks on top of my shrimp :( personally didnt like to see that honestly lol. And i would say that the flavor is a bit on the sweeter side. This is one of my go-to spot when I want good cajun seafood boil without having to drive far. The shrimp was meaty and plump, just the right level of spice. I wish there was more sauce because I love to dip my seafood and fries in the sauce. Fries always crispy. Service was on point, very friendly and attentive. Parking might be tough on the weekend since its near a big bar. I also believe Thurs-Sat night, you have to pay for parking in downtown Fullerton. I went with my family to Crawfish Cave on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm. There were only a few more parties at the restaurant but when we talked to the owner later, he said it has been a bit slower since the pandemic. Our server came to take our drink order and brought them back fast. We got the medium heat and cave style cave bucket for $50 which is three pounds of shrimp with sausage, corn and potatoes (your choice between crawfish, clams, mussels or shrimp- pretty good price). We also got fries, fresh oysters and another pound of clams for the table. The oysters were delish, they were the perfect cold temperature and were served with tabasco, tapatio, salt and lemon. Fries were decent. All of the cajun style food was delicious, it had been a while since I went to one and I left with a happy tummy. Give this place some support! It needs more hype. read more

I and my wife came at lunch time as we were craving for some oysters and some seafood. This turned out to be a great place - basically a sports spot a la Joe Crab House of yesteryears but with plenty to show off for. The garlic pasta is their specialty so we did not miss ordering it , so are their baked oysters , fried calamari and Northeast Cajun shrimps . The servings were plentiful so we ended up with two boxes to take home. Zack who was alone to attend to us was pleasantly accommodating and was so knowledgeable of all the dishes and which ones to recommend. Ahhh I've been craving crab for months, and finally found it for a price I was willing to pay. Snow crab was $31/lb today and so worth it. We also had the garlic noodles which were deliciously flavorful and the shrimp and chips, because we were curious. I would come back for the snow crab and garlic noodles. The lemons were the perfect complement. Carmen was our server and was friendly and attentive. The other waitstaff checked in frequently and helped to keep our waters full. I don't have much experience with cracking my own crab, but I learned to use the scissors to cut the crab open lengthwise instead of just cutting horizontally and struggling to dig it out. Wow... this is by far the best cajun seafood place I've been to. The main reason is because most cajun seafood places' (at least the ones I've been to) shrimp are always mushy and just don't taste fresh at all. But this place's shrimp tasted fresh, chewy, and juicy. Get it with their cajun garlic fries and it'll definitely hit the spot. The sauce I got was cajun, and they give you a good amount of sauce in the bag. Some places I've been to barely give you any sauce. Definitely will be back and 10/10 recommend this place to any cajun seafood fans. read more

HIT. THE. SPOT. I was craving some crab and I've always driven past this place and finally tried it!! It was very good! I didn't get good photos of the boil bags (they didn't photograph well) but the favor was definitely there! We got all the flavors combined and everything was tasty. We got shrimp, mussels and another crab in the boil bags and then we got a side of garlic noodles and rice. Additionally we got 2 pieces of corn, 1 3 piece of potatoes and 2 orders of sausage links. The side portions seemed a little expensive for how much you get... definitely been to other places that had better discounts for the potatoes and things and the flavor on those was just okay. I think I prefer when they are mixed in the bag as well (which I know you can do yourself, but just commenting on how it was served here). One thing that made me mad was that they take tip automatic you don't get to choose how much tip you wanna give them. Their food is barely even seasoned they're waitresses took forever. i freaking love this place, its my favorite seafood place to go to, mostly because of the sauce. i always get the mild cave style sauce shrimp with head on, extra sauce with chicken and fries with no fries, extra protein. I used to be someone who really liked eating the shrimp, but one day when I bought my shrimp with my chicken and fries, I dipped my chicken into the sauce and found a new favorite combo. i'm not entirely sure if this place sells just the sauce, but if they do, that is definitely what I would get.... or if they got one of those bag seasonings some seafood mukbangers sell online, id buy the packet from the website. should definitely consider that. Came here July 2021 to try out a few dishes. The indoor and outdoor options are both open. They have a split lot for delivery pickups and dine in. I'm assuming they have an overflow parking lot across the street because there was only two open spots when I arrive around 530pm on a Thursday evening. The decor here is nicely done in a seafood centric atmosphere. Lots of large open tables easy to setup large gatherings plus the tables are lined with paper so kids can draw with the provided crayons on. The menu is largely customizable depending on flavor and spice level as well as your preferred type of seafood. There's a good amount of side dishes to accompany the main seafood boil as well - I had the clam chowder, garlic cheese noodles, honey bbq wings as starters. I tried the 1lb shrimp head on with sausages corn and potatoes. Definitely a fun experience with the bib, eating with hands or the free provided gloves and off the table directly. We're always on the prowl for a good happy hour oyster and Crawfish Cave definitely delivers with $1 happy hour oysters. Oysters were decent-sized, luscious, and fresh! The accompanying horseradish, hot sauce, and cocktail sauce made for delightful bite. They also have good happy hour drink specials! For seafood, we ordered 1 lb each of crawfish, peeled shrimp, and snow crab legs. We opted for cave style, medium-spice seasoning with an order of corn and potatoes - I have no idea what goes into this seasoning but it is finger-licking good like you could add this sauce/seasoning to literally anything and it would be delicious. My favorite of the seafood was the crab legs. We typically also always order the garlic noodles, which are delicious on their own, but also the perfect side for the seafood. We also ordered the clam chowder - creamy and delectable. The service has been average to good. During our most recent visit, we waited a decent while before being seated despite not being that busy - it does not appear they have a host/hostess? We also initially received shell-on shrimp when we had ordered peeled shrimp but our waitress fixed this for us once we let her know. But I recall our waiter being friendly/helpful during our first visit. Overall, Crawfish Cave is one of our go-to spots when we're craving a happy hour oyster session! read more

Second time back today and I gotta say FOOD IS UNIQUELY its own flavor of a shrimp boil. It's no where near your typical boiling seafood spot that all taste similar. There's this cool iPad to join the waitlist when you arrive. Ambiance is pretty low lit during the day. Music is playing overhead. Drink waiters are ALWAYS ON IT and in such a good mood it makes you enjoy your food twice as much! Prices are fair and the food is ridiculous yummy! Mild is FLAVORFUL! Medium is a typical mild if you eat spicy at all. Highly suggest the tots WELL DONE :) Their garlic noodles are a big deal because they're delicious!! I've been here before but never left a review. Today was such a great experience that I could not let myself forget to review it. The cook brought out our bucket and along with the waitress, they checked on us frequent, but not overbearing like other places. What really stood out to me this time was the cook seeing my son's water bottle empty and offered to fill it for us! Not every place is as genuine and welcoming to kids because they can be noisy, but this interaction really touched me. He did not have to do that and I'm sure he had other things to do, but still took the time to do that for us was amazing. We will definitely be back! I really liked how my son's chicken nuggets and fries were served first and I think they knew that children are usually the hungriest first and that made our lunch much more enjoyable. Food is wonderful, dine in service is ridiculously bad. We often come here for dinner and the service is always incredibly slow. Definitely not a place to come if you aren't in the mood for the leisurely dinner. But the quality of food makes it worth it - until our most recent visit. The place is always near empty, but you can't get your server's attention for anything. They also do not bus tables very often, so there are constantly three or four tables piled with dirty dishes. (I know poor service is an ongoing issue at this location - check out the 1-star reviews - despite the restaurant responses that they will work on it.) I'm sticking to two stars because the food is great. Against my better judgment, we booked for a party of 12 on a weeknight - my daughter asked for Crawfish Cave after her graduation ceremony. I am not exaggerating - it took 30 minutes to just put in a drink order, another 20 for the drinks to come out. (We had two toddlers with us, so any server worth a grain of salt would know time is of the essence when dealing with little ones.) Dinners came out staggered over the course of an HOUR, half the table had cold meals waiting for the rest of the meals to come out. Those of us that did start eating before everyone else's arrived were done before others were even served. Two orders were wrong and we just let it slide because the service was so ridiculous. The last person waiting for their meal cancelled their order because she hadn't been served for over an hour and shared with her daughter. The server even asked "how everything was" when only 3 people had been served. Instead of actually doing his job, at one point he spent 15-20 minutes hanging out at one of the two tables he was working rather than getting our orders out. When we complained, we were told they had a lot of takeaway orders come in. Don't you tell takeaway orders to wait longer and prioritize people actually sitting waiting for their food in the restaurant?? We eventually gave up on dinner and got up to get our own takeaway containers and walked over to the manager to get our check. The server apologized when he brought the check over but I definitely got the sense he had no clue what he was apologizing for. They "discounted" our check for the inconvenience - the total discount was for 4% on a $350 dollar check AND they tacked on an 18% auto gratuity for service that was a complete joke. I would have argued the gratuity but at that point, I just wanted to get out of there. All this in a restaurant that had three other tables occupied while we were there and two servers working (barely). I am all for supporting service workers, but this was over the top incompetence and lack of interest in basic service. They either need some training in wait service or shut down the dining area and only do takeout. It seems the people working there couldn't care less about anything. I won't be going back in and dining . It was embarrassing to spend that much on a dinner and have my family and friends leave frustrated and unhappy. read more

Came here tonight for the first and last time. Today was National Oyster Day, so that was the reason I came here. It was Happy Hour, so I ordered a dozen. I finished them and wanted to order more, and was told that the Happy Hour price was only good for the 1st dozen, so I said nevermind. I was then ignored for the next 25 minutes, and then the waiter finally came back to me and asked if I wanted my check. I originally was gonna order more food, but with the terrible service, I ordered food from somewhere else to pick up on the way home. The restaurant was not busy at all, no excuse. I've been coming to this spot since 2018 and I feel like it has only improved since then. To start off every side I've tried here has been a hit, ranging from the fries to calamari to their garlic bread. The shrimp here is perfectly cooked and their spiciest flavor is actually spicy! I would highly recommend this spot to those who love a good kick. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly and efficient. No matter how packed the restaurant seems you won't be waiting more than 20 minutes to be sat and the food comes out relatively fast.
