My mom liked the unique table covers and was amused that we had to use bibs and our fingers to eat. We got a pound of shrimp, potatoes, and 2 corns. It was plenty for both of us. It was a fun experience, despite the mess we made using our hands to eat, and our waiter lacked a bit of attention. Thankfully the manager was helping out. The ambiance is chill & casual. Me and my man love a good seafood boil...we've been to multiple places to try them out around dfw . We get shrimp and snow crab, when he came here the pound of snow crab only comes with one cluster but other places come with 2-3....this place is a rip off when it comes to crab legs... 1 cluster for 32-35 dollars is outrageous and it does not fill one up at all. Other than the snow crab problem the shrimp is great we had oysters those were good too. The flavor is on point. read more

Thanks Texas for the great crab! Hole in the wall crab shack but equivalent to the Crafty Crabs that they have over in Florida. You basically come in, sit anywhere, tables get covered with a big sheet of paper and then throw your crab legs and lobster all over the table... Definitely a mess of an eating situation but that's how it goes with these crab shacks. King Crabs were great, shrimp and corn was pretty good, spices here are very interesting, a bit too much. BEST crawfish place ever. It's easily one of my favorite restaurants in the DFW area. I have been ordering crawfish from here every month and it never disappoints. Last night, I ordered 8 pounds of crawfish for my family and I in the whole sha-bang with medium spice with an order of potatoes and 2 corns. It was delicious. Boiling crab also adds lots of garlic in the sauces which tastes so good. I love dipping the crawfish, potatoes, and corns in the sauces to get even more flavor and spice. Highly recommend. Don't bother checking in with the app cause the timing is off. We arrived at our supposed time only to be told that it would be an hour. Fine. No problem. It's a rare date night for us (thanks for ruining it) and we figured we would just wait the hour. Come to find out we only had to wait 40 minutes. Quote high wait times and get them in early to make it seem a little better. They didn't have live Dungeness Crab. They offered a frozen one. Ok no problem. We also ordered snow crab, and 2lbs of shrimp. Oh and rice. I'm the type of person who needs rice at my meal. After placing the order 15 minutes later the waitress comes back and says they don't have rice. She told me it would be 30 minutes. I said fine no problem. 30 minutes passed and they brought out the shrimp. I asked about the rice and she said it would be about 5 minutes. 10 minutes later both crabs came out. I asked the guy who brought the crabs about rice and another guy who was a manager said it would be about 10 more minutes and he said he would just give me the rice without charge. Tried to make it sound like it was a big deal to get rice for free. Fine. 15 minutes more later he comes back and says rice will be ready in 10 more minutes. At that point I'm just angry. My soda had been sitting empty with no refill and they have like 10 people standing behind the counter. We are literally done eating and he they come back and tell me rice is ready would I like rice. The snow crab wasn't that great. And Dungeness Crab which was frozen tasted old. Barely any meat and there was absolutely no way that crab weighed 2lbs. The meat was discolored and it was just a joke. Now if you had just told me that the rice wasn't going to be ready until 10pm after we were done eating I would have ordered some more fries, or maybe corn with another lb of shrimp. Instead what I got on a rare date night for us was a bill for $152 .52 in which I ate 6 pieces of shrimp and had an awkward dinner with my wife where I was just bitter and angry. Luckily my wife took the bill from me and tipped the waitress cause I was on the phone with an employee of mine. I might have been close to not tipping. Regardless of how busy you guys get, you shouldn't think that is ok to stiffen up on service of a table for 2. The wait for 2 people was 2 hours. However, I placed myself on the waitlist via Yelp, so it wasn't as bad. Once seated, our waitress took our order, never to be seen or heard from again. From that point, a guy took over while the previous waitress enjoyed her time with other coworkers. My friend and I ordered Cajun wings (best wings I've ever had), a half pound of shrimp (good) and a pound of crab legs. Although the crab legs were good, we were given FOUR LEGS. The waitor insisted that it was a pound and that the weight would be placed on the receipt. That means absolutely nothing. I eat at other seafood places (like Shell Shack) at least twice a month and a pound of crab legs are ALWAYS a cluster. This place is getting over on people. Their seasonings are the best seasonings ever but they are cheating people on food. I suggest people come once to experience the food but I would not make this my go to place. There are too many seafood places in DFW that actually give you your monies worth. After 8 years, I got to finally stop by to see what the hype was about, but won't be back. For $32 a pound surely they can get some fresh crab legs. My order was a take out order. I placed it at the bar and received a text when it was ready. I tipped 18% on top of the already high bill. I glanced at the seafood bags to verify the side stuff was there (potatoes, eggs, etc...) and they were. When I got home I took out the first cluster of crab legs and it was black. I took out the second cluster and it was black. To make matters worse I ordered a 10pc wing and they gave me 6. workers are insanely nice, property manager however is the hugest asshole ever. my car tire blew out and i had to pull over in their parking lot with ZERO TOWING SIGNS. me and my father tried to take my blown out tire off but failed and had to leave it there overnight and came back before 24 hours and it was already towed. to a place AN HOUR AWAY! property manager didn't even talk to me but instead talked to me through his employee. they stole my car and made me pay $150 to get it back WITH a blown out tire because the tow place refused to help untighten the lugnuts. i am beyond frustrated and now me and my family will never go to any place in that parking lot. terrible terrible property manager and insanely unprofessional. read more

Alot of crawfish places are good and always somewhat consistent. My boyfriend and i first seafood boil in texas was the boiling crab and they do not disappoint. I had dreams about this place! I always get shrimp by the pound with the whole sha bang and mild because im a wimp. The shrimp is boiled perfect every time i've had it and the sauce it just the perfect balance of butter and spices. Another staple is the soft shell crab basket. I love soft shell crab and every time they bring it out its so juicy, crispy and so yums! The lemon pepper fries are also the perfect touch to the whole meal. Lemon pepper over cajun any day. We've been eating at this restaurant a long time. Even while on Walnut and Jupiter. The last 3 times we've ordered the shrimp cha-bang medium we've been disappointed. The seasoning is good but the shrimp is not firm and it is hard to peel it off of the shell. Either it is old shrimp or boiled too long but it is very disappointing. I must say there's something about this place that I can't resist! I was having a birthday dinner and wanted to serve seafood boil. When I arrived to pick up my order of food, there were a few people dining in at separate tables, which was good for distance. I'm such a crab connoisseur, and The Boiling Crab is doing it right with the snow crab. The king crabs wasn't over cooked and kickin with medium heat. The green lipped mussels were not chewy but cooked just right. Everything was great, despite the shrimp being a little overcooked. I notice the seafood butter sauce was chunkier than my last experience, with half chopped fresh garlic pieces and a good amount of seasoning but not salty. The snow crab was $26 a pound and everything all together was $136, which is a little pricey, but worth it for the occasion. There are other options not as pricey on the menu like fried catfish, fried shrimp, fries etc. Being a satisfied customer I will be back to try the blue crab and the Dungeness crab. read more

My family and I really enjoy this place. We used to visit the old location but there was always a wait time since the place was small, so it was a pleasant surprise to see this new location with ample space. The restaurant is very clean and I love the decor and ambiance. The service is as good as before, always very attentive and friendly servers plus the manager always walks around the place to check in on everyone. The food is our main reason to visit, there are so many seafood boil places but nothing comes close. The seasoning is the best! We love the whole shebang -medium. Indoor dining just opened up again and I was glad to be able to eat boiling crab not at home. (It's messy work) The waitstaff was nice and sweet. The indoor seating felt a little close though. There was glass between the booths but it was definitely less than 2 feet apart. The shrimp is my go-to and I loved how the skin wasn't stuck and it was actually easy to peel. Unfortunately they didn't provide enough sauce for me and I felt like I had to keep dipping my shrimp back into the bottom of the bag. I also ordered takeout for my family members and there also was a lack of sauce. I would recommend getting the fresh (not frozen) seafood.
