Always a good time here! The sauce hits every time--garlicky, buttery, and spicy Seafood tasted fresh and came out quick. Staff was super friendly too. Be ready to get messy but that's part of the experience and WEAR YOUR BIB

They don't take reservations or have an online waitlist. Expect a 45 min to an hour wait, especially on weekends. Fortunately, we were seated sooner than the quoted time. The restaurant is in a great plaza where you can easily walk to Target or grab matcha while you wait (which is exactly what we did!). Their menu is a bit different from other seafood boil spots. There are no combo options, so you order everything by the pound. Service was quick and friendly. With a group of three, we ordered 2 lbs of shrimp, 1 lb of mussels, and 1 lb of clams with the whole shabang sauce at medium spice. The heat builds as you go, but the flavor was delicious -great kick and super saucy. The fried calamari was nicely cooked and tasty as well. My only wish is that they offered garlic noodles on the menu.

I finally tried this place after my best friend and sister recommended it! I ordered the Fried Shrimp Basket and got the Cajun Fries with no spice. I also had a plain Margarita. It had a lot of flavor and was pretty strong, so I stayed in the restaurant for a while to let the buzz wear off. I'll definitely be back to try more things from the menu. The Boiling Crab is now one of my favorite restaurants!

The best seafood boil meal in the bay area is at Boiling Crab. Our favorites are shrimps, whole sha-bang sauce, medium spicy. My preference is 1/2 a pound $9. This time we tried the blue crab which is $25 for 2 crabs. The other stuff were fine. Fried scallops $19, fried calamari rings $12 and fried shrimps $16. That Cajun, garlic butter and lemon pepper on the seafood is what makes it perfect. Service was excellent. Boiling Crab is always a fun place to be because of the lively atmosphere and young staff. Good job guys.

Good service, nice people, relaxing and happy whit my friends. I invited anyone to visit this restaurant

On a chill Wednesday, my partner and I decided to get some seafood boil following a blood donation as it is a great way to restore iron. We decided to get some shrimp with added sausage in the medium whole shabang sauce. We also got the fried soft shell crab basket w/ lemon pepper fries. The food was delicious and was of pretty solid value. The only thing that was a little surprising to me was the amount of fries in the basket. I was expecting at least 1.5 to 2 times the amount of fries. It was definitely delicious, but with fries being a relatively cheap accompaniment, I would've thought there would be more. Regardless, food and service were fantastic and it was a great time there.

The OG location of Cajun seafood boils! We use to go here back in the day when there was not that many seafood boil spots around. I remember the wait back then was really bad like 1-2 hours wait. Nowadays the wait is not that bad depending on the time of the day. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon after church. Parking was accessible but can still be crowded. Fortunately we got seated immediately upon arrival. We ordered our usual 2lbs of shrimp, rice, calamari, and Cajun fries. Perfect amount for our family of four. Unfortunately they do not have any garlic noodles which we usually get at other similar Cajun seafood boil spots. Not good but oh well. Everything was delicious. The shrimp with the whole sha-bang sauce was scrumptious with the right kick. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall we enjoyed our experience being back at The Boiling Crab. Not sure if we'll be back anytime soon since there are other Cajun seafood spots closer to us and that serve garlic noodles. Nonetheless it was nostalgic to revisit the OG location.

The best Boiling Crab location I've been to! The shrimp was super fresh and sweet, and the corn tasted fresh too. I loved the double fry on the fries.

TBC on a Sunday for 4 around 1:30P was about a 20min wait. They utilize Yelp Waitlist which I really like because you get a text when it's your turn for a table. I like this feature because it allows you to wait outside/in your car as the waiting area inside the restaurant is quite small. Service was pretty consistent and our waiter checked up on us a couple of times. S&P, bibs and lemons were given however gloves and forks were upon request during my visit. Calamari-- 2/5. Maybe 15 pieces? Comes with no sauce... then saw on the menu 75c per sauce... usually calamari comes with sauce or at least that's what I'm accustomed to. Next time I know. Some overcooked pieces but seasoning was probably the only highlight. Cajun fries (medium spice)-- 1/5. Fries seasoned very poorly and unevenly.. all it takes is a little shake and toss. Seafood Boil (whole shabang sauce, medium spice)-- 4/5 for flavor, 3/5 for quality. Got some shrimp heads without shrimps, a lot of clam shells without clams but the garlic pieces at the bottom of the bag were definitely a plus and added lots of flavor. $100 for 3lb shrimp, 1lb clams, cajun fries and calamari after tip. It was a while since I've eaten here and I had very high hopes returning but think it's my last time as my experience was very underwhelming.

I used to love coming to Boiling Crab, but the past two years I've noticed that the quality of their seafood has gone downhill. The last two visits, the shrimp and clams didn't taste very fresh. I'm also not sure why they changed their hot link sausage to a different kind that doesn't taste good. I probably won't be coming back anytime .

This is a super nice restaurant, it has very good customer service and the staff are friendly. I specifically highly Dylan for making our experience even better than it was. The fried options were delicious and the seafood boils were amazing. Would definitely recommend coming here and definitely ask for Dylan if you want an unforgettable experience and some "eye candy" he's a hottie.

I didn't know that you could call for a reservation, or get on their waitlist with Yelp. I was going to do my order to go, when I was asked if I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar. Not at all. I was seated right away, and I was helped by Allison, who was also tending bar. She was a very nice lady, and she took very good care of me. The restaurant has. A nautical theme to it. I decided to go with the Cajun chowder, and the softshell crab po' boy. . My food comes quickly, and the order was huge! It was a very good, rich chowder, with just a tiny bit of a "zip" from the Cajun spices. They definitely gave it a good flavor. There were lots of goodies inside. The one thing about the chowder, was they didn't take out the bay leaves, and I did get a couple.. I just put them off to the side. I'm not going to take off a star, because the chowder was so good. Hey, It happens.... The po' boy was huge! The softshell crab was not over breaded. I could taste the crab with no problem, and it was a little bit sweet, a little bit savory, with that wonderful "crabby" flavor. The roll was a soft roll, , but it still held up to the sandwich extremely well The lettuce, and tomato were crisp and fresh . The Cajun fries, had a little bit of a zip to them, but not too much. they came with ketchup, and their house Cajun sauce. I didn't even touch the ketchup. The sandwich already had some Cajun sauce on it, I put a little bit more. The rest, I used to dip the fries. I only made it halfway through the sandwich, and the fries. The rest came back to my room with me for another great meal. I also got another little "tub" of that sauce to take with me. The entire time, Alison was so personable, , we chatted a little bit about this and that... She is definitely an asset to that restaurant. (Tell her boss to give her a raise...:). The price was extremely reasonable for such a wonderful meal, and they also have a military/veterans discount this was such a great meal, I would gladly come back here again. Thank you so very much

The seafood was well-seasoned with a nice spicy kick, and our noodles were very garlicky (in a good way). The chicken tenders were also flavorful, but a bit dry (I still like it btw). The garlic fries were cooked to the perfect level of crispiness, while the lobster garlic noodles were flavorful, savory, and packed with garlic goodness. The seafood itself was fresh and good quality, but I found the House Special Mild sauce a little underwhelming. I was hoping for more depth and flavor, but most of what I tasted was a mild kick of heat. While it wasn't bad, it didn't have the rich, buttery, and well-seasoned flavor profile that I typically look for in a seafood boil sauce. Service was great throughout our visit. We were seated promptly, our food arrived quickly, and any requests we had were fulfilled without issue. The staff was attentive and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the restaurant's nautical theme. The decor featured fishing nets, ship-inspired accents, and other sea-themed elements that helped create a fun and immersive atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try. The garlic noodles and fries were delicious, and the service was excellent. While I would probably choose other seafood boil spots in the future, this was still a solid experience and worth trying at least once.

The corn tasted old, the shrimp and snow crab didn't taste fresh, and the snow crab clusters had barely any meat. By the time I cracked everything open, it felt like there was more shell than seafood. The mussel shells even had barnacles on them, which I've never seen here before. It made the seafood feel like it hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have. The garlic fries were crispy, but that's it. It was weird--I could see the garlic and was literally eating it, yet there was no garlic flavor. The garlic noodles used to be one of my favorite items because they were bold and packed with garlic. Now they've definitely toned the flavor down, and they're just not the same anymore. It's honestly disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorite seafood spots. We went in at 9 pm on a Friday night with a group of eight of us. Please note that the restaurant is tiny so it did take sometime while we waited for our table, but we did not wait too long. There was plenty of parking spots in the plaza and the restaurant was a little loud, but it was a small place for a bunch of people dining in on a late evening. The service was great. They were checking in whenever we were ready to order and answering all of our questions. Because our group was so large, we did have to squish into a small table, but it did not make the food any less delicious. They had a special where we could choose 4 pounds of any types of shrimp, mussels, crawfish, clam. This was a great deal, and I wish I knew to order more. Once we were finished with this 4 pounds... We ordered some more. I believe we ordered with the Louisiana sauce at medium and it was to die for. We also tried the sweet California, but I thought it was just OK. To be honest, it was a little bit too sweet for me, but everyone's taste differ. We also ordered the basil clams and they were also delicious but they did come pretty late into a meal. My friends that don't eat seafood, enjoyed the lamb chops, the chicken wings, the garlic noodles and some other dishes. All in all, I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a great spot to enjoy with friends and I am so grateful that it was open late night. I am already thinking about the next time I come to visit San Jose to eat some more.

Very much gen z service here. We got garlic noodles and the 4lb combo (2lbs crawfish, 1lb shrimp, 1lb mussels) with medium spice Sweet California sauce. The garlic noodles are very homey and uniquely Vietnamese. They remind me a lot of my mom's cooking. I don't recommend the crawfish right now because they were so small and overcooked. However the shrimp was plump and sweet, so I wish we got more of that instead. There were a bunch of empty shells in our bag because the actual mussels fell out. It's very crowded seating inside the restaurant. Parking is easy at night but during the day, the plaza is extremely crowded.

We arrived on a Saturday evening for dinner. The restaurant is located in a nice newer plaza area in Cupertino off the Vallco Parkway close to where Vallco Shopping Mall once stood. Parking is available in the parking garage in the plaza. The restaurant is medium size but maximizes the space efficiently with plenty of booths and tables for dine in. The modern decor is nice and sleek. Whereas the vibe is bustling and welcoming. We ordered the combo of 2 pounds of shrimp with heads on, garlic noodles, and 2 steamed rice. The seafood boil came out in a large silver bowl instead of the usual large clear bag. I found this to be much better in presentation. Everything was so delicious. The captain Loui sauce was so flavorful and sweet. The shrimp were plump and juicy. Garlic noodles were tasty. A couple of saucy yummy corn and potato were found in the bowl which was a good surprise. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Cap't Loui. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The combo options were a great deal. Free Ice cream popsicles for dessert were a nice surprise at the end. We will definitely be back as their seafood boil is one of the better options in the South Bay.

This time we ordered combo #3 with the snow crab legs and 2 lbs of shrimp, and 1 lb of mussel. They were out of clams but it was okay. The sauce and the flavor were superb and everything was cooked to perfection in the kickin sauce, mild. My friend whose favorite is boiling crab, really liked this place. Staff actually came around to check on us and to refill our waters. It's been pretty slow every time I come in here but there's plenty of tables to choose from and sit at. They still play some really good music and it's a vibe. Still one of my all time favorite places to eat.

Unfortunately, today's experience was nowhere near what we remembered. We ordered a pound of king crab, snow crab & shrimp, and snow crab with Cajun fries -- definitely not a cheap order. We were also told we couldn't order or pay over the phone because of the cost, which was already a little frustrating. But the food was the real disappointment. The sauce was extremely watered down, to the point that the seasoning wouldn't even stick to the shrimp, crab, potatoes, or corn. The crab itself was flimsy and somehow tasted dry like it wasn't fresh, and several of the claws had little to no meat in them. Being a pescatarian, and I can honestly say I've never thrown away a pound of king crab until today. For what king crab costs, that says everything. We used to love this place, which is why this experience was especially disappointing.

This visit, my husband and I ordered the crawfish pasta and the jambalaya. We also got the shrimp po'boy to go for my in-laws to try. The crawfish pasta was delicious and had a fair crawfish to pasta ratio (like 5 pasta shells to each crawfish bite, which is perfect for me as I was craving pasta that week). We also got drinks which was an interesting ordering experience since you have to order and pay at the bar before you get to the register where you can order your food. I think the bartender did a good job managing the crowd and checking in as best as she can to make sure people got their drink orders in! Jambalaya was flavorful (and I got it again on my next visit so I was def happy with it). No A/C inside and only fans which was rough after this particularly hot heat wave of a week we had. Outdoor was vibey if you were able to secure a spot. They had a live band playing so we were not able to secure a spot in that area. We decided to stay indoors where we were able to eventually cool down with our drinks. I can absolutely see this as a spot we go to before and after games. Already thinking about the next time we go with our friend group. And I'm noting that there's a speakeasy underneath I want to check out!
