Always a good time here! The sauce hits every time--garlicky, buttery, and spicy Seafood tasted fresh and came out quick. Staff was super friendly too. Be ready to get messy but that's part of the experience and WEAR YOUR BIB

They don't take reservations or have an online waitlist. Expect a 45 min to an hour wait, especially on weekends. Fortunately, we were seated sooner than the quoted time. The restaurant is in a great plaza where you can easily walk to Target or grab matcha while you wait (which is exactly what we did!). Their menu is a bit different from other seafood boil spots. There are no combo options, so you order everything by the pound. Service was quick and friendly. With a group of three, we ordered 2 lbs of shrimp, 1 lb of mussels, and 1 lb of clams with the whole shabang sauce at medium spice. The heat builds as you go, but the flavor was delicious -great kick and super saucy. The fried calamari was nicely cooked and tasty as well. My only wish is that they offered garlic noodles on the menu.

I finally tried this place after my best friend and sister recommended it! I ordered the Fried Shrimp Basket and got the Cajun Fries with no spice. I also had a plain Margarita. It had a lot of flavor and was pretty strong, so I stayed in the restaurant for a while to let the buzz wear off. I'll definitely be back to try more things from the menu. The Boiling Crab is now one of my favorite restaurants!

The best seafood boil meal in the bay area is at Boiling Crab. Our favorites are shrimps, whole sha-bang sauce, medium spicy. My preference is 1/2 a pound $9. This time we tried the blue crab which is $25 for 2 crabs. The other stuff were fine. Fried scallops $19, fried calamari rings $12 and fried shrimps $16. That Cajun, garlic butter and lemon pepper on the seafood is what makes it perfect. Service was excellent. Boiling Crab is always a fun place to be because of the lively atmosphere and young staff. Good job guys.

Good service, nice people, relaxing and happy whit my friends. I invited anyone to visit this restaurant

On a chill Wednesday, my partner and I decided to get some seafood boil following a blood donation as it is a great way to restore iron. We decided to get some shrimp with added sausage in the medium whole shabang sauce. We also got the fried soft shell crab basket w/ lemon pepper fries. The food was delicious and was of pretty solid value. The only thing that was a little surprising to me was the amount of fries in the basket. I was expecting at least 1.5 to 2 times the amount of fries. It was definitely delicious, but with fries being a relatively cheap accompaniment, I would've thought there would be more. Regardless, food and service were fantastic and it was a great time there.

The OG location of Cajun seafood boils! We use to go here back in the day when there was not that many seafood boil spots around. I remember the wait back then was really bad like 1-2 hours wait. Nowadays the wait is not that bad depending on the time of the day. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon after church. Parking was accessible but can still be crowded. Fortunately we got seated immediately upon arrival. We ordered our usual 2lbs of shrimp, rice, calamari, and Cajun fries. Perfect amount for our family of four. Unfortunately they do not have any garlic noodles which we usually get at other similar Cajun seafood boil spots. Not good but oh well. Everything was delicious. The shrimp with the whole sha-bang sauce was scrumptious with the right kick. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall we enjoyed our experience being back at The Boiling Crab. Not sure if we'll be back anytime soon since there are other Cajun seafood spots closer to us and that serve garlic noodles. Nonetheless it was nostalgic to revisit the OG location.

The best Boiling Crab location I've been to! The shrimp was super fresh and sweet, and the corn tasted fresh too. I loved the double fry on the fries.

TBC on a Sunday for 4 around 1:30P was about a 20min wait. They utilize Yelp Waitlist which I really like because you get a text when it's your turn for a table. I like this feature because it allows you to wait outside/in your car as the waiting area inside the restaurant is quite small. Service was pretty consistent and our waiter checked up on us a couple of times. S&P, bibs and lemons were given however gloves and forks were upon request during my visit. Calamari-- 2/5. Maybe 15 pieces? Comes with no sauce... then saw on the menu 75c per sauce... usually calamari comes with sauce or at least that's what I'm accustomed to. Next time I know. Some overcooked pieces but seasoning was probably the only highlight. Cajun fries (medium spice)-- 1/5. Fries seasoned very poorly and unevenly.. all it takes is a little shake and toss. Seafood Boil (whole shabang sauce, medium spice)-- 4/5 for flavor, 3/5 for quality. Got some shrimp heads without shrimps, a lot of clam shells without clams but the garlic pieces at the bottom of the bag were definitely a plus and added lots of flavor. $100 for 3lb shrimp, 1lb clams, cajun fries and calamari after tip. It was a while since I've eaten here and I had very high hopes returning but think it's my last time as my experience was very underwhelming.

I used to love coming to Boiling Crab, but the past two years I've noticed that the quality of their seafood has gone downhill. The last two visits, the shrimp and clams didn't taste very fresh. I'm also not sure why they changed their hot link sausage to a different kind that doesn't taste good. I probably won't be coming back anytime .

    Dani G.

This is a super nice restaurant, it has very good customer service and the staff are friendly. I specifically highly Dylan for making our experience even better than it was. The fried options were delicious and the seafood boils were amazing. Would definitely recommend coming here and definitely ask for Dylan if you want an unforgettable experience and some "eye candy" he's a hottie.

The seafood was well-seasoned with a nice spicy kick, and our noodles were very garlicky (in a good way). The chicken tenders were also flavorful, but a bit dry (I still like it btw). The only small downside was that the crawfish had a bit of a fishy taste, but it wasn't enough to ruin the meal since the seasoning was still really good. The shrimp, on the other hand, were delicious and cooked perfectly. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, great for groups. The garlic fries were cooked to the perfect level of crispiness, while the lobster garlic noodles were flavorful, savory, and packed with garlic goodness. The seafood itself was fresh and good quality, but I found the House Special Mild sauce a little underwhelming. I was hoping for more depth and flavor, but most of what I tasted was a mild kick of heat. While it wasn't bad, it didn't have the rich, buttery, and well-seasoned flavor profile that I typically look for in a seafood boil sauce. Service was great throughout our visit. We were seated promptly, our food arrived quickly, and any requests we had were fulfilled without issue. The staff was attentive and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the restaurant's nautical theme. The decor featured fishing nets, ship-inspired accents, and other sea-themed elements that helped create a fun and immersive atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try. The garlic noodles and fries were delicious, and the service was excellent. While I would probably choose other seafood boil spots in the future, this was still a solid experience and worth trying at least once.

We went in at 9 pm on a Friday night with a group of eight of us. Please note that the restaurant is tiny so it did take sometime while we waited for our table, but we did not wait too long. There was plenty of parking spots in the plaza and the restaurant was a little loud, but it was a small place for a bunch of people dining in on a late evening. The service was great. They were checking in whenever we were ready to order and answering all of our questions. Because our group was so large, we did have to squish into a small table, but it did not make the food any less delicious. They had a special where we could choose 4 pounds of any types of shrimp, mussels, crawfish, clam. This was a great deal, and I wish I knew to order more. Once we were finished with this 4 pounds... We ordered some more. I believe we ordered with the Louisiana sauce at medium and it was to die for. We also tried the sweet California, but I thought it was just OK. To be honest, it was a little bit too sweet for me, but everyone's taste differ. We also ordered the basil clams and they were also delicious but they did come pretty late into a meal. My friends that don't eat seafood, enjoyed the lamb chops, the chicken wings, the garlic noodles and some other dishes. All in all, I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a great spot to enjoy with friends and I am so grateful that it was open late night. I am already thinking about the next time I come to visit San Jose to eat some more.

The corn tasted old, the shrimp and snow crab didn't taste fresh, and the snow crab clusters had barely any meat. By the time I cracked everything open, it felt like there was more shell than seafood. The mussel shells even had barnacles on them, which I've never seen here before. It made the seafood feel like it hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have. The garlic fries were crispy, but that's it. It was weird--I could see the garlic and was literally eating it, yet there was no garlic flavor. The garlic noodles used to be one of my favorite items because they were bold and packed with garlic. I was worried they would be close by the time I get there since they close at 5pm and it was 4:45pm when we got there. There is parking in the back that you can drive in and park. I told them I wanted 120 Pacific oysters and the worker brought it out right away. They were $120 but since I used my card to pay, they tacked on $5 to the price. I think you have to spend a certain amount to avoid the $5 credit card charge. They asked if I was ok with it and I told them it was fine and proceeded to pay. They have newspapers on the side that you can use to put in ur car so the water from the oysters doesn't get on the car carpet. The oysters were really good and tasted fresh. We ended up killing all 120 oysters last night. Highly recommend this place for oysters. I heard certain hours of the day, the place can be packed so be prepared just in case you can't park inside and have to find street parking.

This place delivered exactly what I was longing for.My order was ready in less than 10 minutes: fresh, hot, and perfectly crunchy. The shredded papaya and the savory sauce instantly brought back fond memories of school years past. Since it is a dish I cannot easily make at home, the price felt very reasonable. To top it off, the lady working there was incredibly warm, nice, and friendly. Eating here recovered 80% of my homesickness!

We came on a Saturday around 10:20am and the food court was already bustling. Ordering was quick and easy. When our food was ready, the cashier lady called out to us to come pick it up. We ordered.. BOT CHIEN KHOAI MON $14 -fried taro cake with egg. It's topped with shredded papaya, green onions and fried little bread croutons. Sweet soy dipping sauce, chili sambal and pickled shredded daikon / carrots were given on the side. OK overall, the taro cake was too dense and heavy for me. The dipping sauce was delicious though. I think I would have preferred the original rice cake version. The portion was kinda small for the price tag. 3/5* CHA CA CHIEN (2) $12 -fried fish cake taco. It's basically fish paste smeared on rice paper, folded in half and deep fried. It came with sweet and sour sauce. Pretty good, different but again, hefty price tag for what you get. It's more like a snack. 3/5* The lady taking our order was super friendly. She gave us a free sample of their crispy rice with pork floss. She also noticed that we had our toddler with us so she asked if we wanted extra napkins, plates and water. I would come back to try their regular bot chien if we were already dining in the Lion Food Court.

I thought they added a bit too much anise spice but other than that, it's delicious. They have all the major meats available like rib eye, flank steak, pork belly, beef belly, lamb, and more. They have lots of appetizers to choose from in which our favorite is their crispy fried chicken. This side dish is so good and pairs great with regular rice with broth. They have a sauce bar for condiments and a fruit bar for sweet treats. The employees are quick on their feet and do frequently check-in with tables for refills and more. Dinner & weekends are ~$36, with weekday lunches being cheaper; I find that this is about the same as or cheaper than what I would pay at an à la carte-style spot. Parking was really easy, as it's in a massive plaza with plenty of parking. I thought the interior alright; it was pleasant but not notably nice. The service was quite good--our orders came out quickly, our empty bowls were cleared fast, and we never had trouble getting their attention. They have a decent selection of hot pot broths, with individual pots for each customer. Their sauce bar is pretty standard, and they have a little dessert bar also. I found the desserts a little lacking (though they had mango sago, which was fun), but there is a decent amount of fresh fruit (mostly melons). They have a menu with fried appetizers & main proteins--the selection is on the smaller side, but I think it is sufficient. The fun part is the conveyer belt! They have all the sides you would normally expect--spinach, cabbage, several types of mushrooms, noodles, rice cakes, seafood, and the like. Everything on the belt is refilled really quickly, so I never felt like I was waiting too long for any item. Ultimately, I will say that I feel this spot is great if you have a big appetite and don't mind a somewhat smaller range of options. I do think that they cover most ingredients that you might expect from a hot pot place, so I didn't really notice the restrictions much (I'm also pescetarian, to be fair--the meats definitely seem fewer in range).

Regardless of the matter and situation, I'm happy to see that they're doing well. I came in super late last night being it the second to last Friday for Lent and was craving seafood. I remembered this spot had a dish of steamed clams in a basil and ginger broth that reminded me of my dad's Filipino version. I came back because I craved it and since I wasn't feeling 100%. This brought me back to life. It was so good and fragrant, which definitely brought me back to my childhood. I decided to also get a few more dishes since I'm acclimating to the Vietnamese culture. The food here is super good and the owner or staff here in general are very nice. I'm going to try to come back often since the price point is worth it in my opinion.

But using that same approach here, we were still very hungry afterward. Not only are the portions extremely small, but the flavors are inconsistent. The xào me was overly salty, while the rang muối ớt was surprisingly bland. On top of that, the presentation was top notched....... the portions are much smaller than what's shown in the photos, vegetables were stale, and there wasn't even any garlic included, despite it being clearly shown on the menu. The gỏi was okay. Will not return.
