    Stockholm Fog, Strawberry Matcha
    Katie C.

Decor inside was modern aesthetic but tranquil, would love to have a work from cafe day here. Visited on a Monday late morning and was able to find parking right on Green St. but I understand parking maybe a nightmare during other times of the day. Really wanted to try their Mango Sunrise Matcha but staff said they ran out of mango, maybe next time I'll order that. Pastries were great, ordered them warmed up and they were crispy. Strawberry Matcha -tasted like strawberry ice cream mixed into matcha, no artificial taste. Personally would prefer it to be a bit sweeter, a few sugar packets helped a ton. Always better to not be overly sweet than too sweet and can't fix it. Stockholm Fog -mocha shines through the chai and it was great. It's cinnamon strong and I'm not complaining.

What a coffee spot! I'm still reminiscing on the ambiance and how perfect it would be for a coworking spot. There's an abundant amount of small tables. If you're in the mood for specialty drip coffee, this is the spot! I ordered the Stockholm Fog and it was delicious. Not overly sweet and just the right amount of smokiness, so good! Highly recommend.

9/10!!!! Very yummy & refreshing! Perfect for a hot day! Came here on a Sunday so it was somewhat busy and they only had one person taking orders / making the drinks but she handled the line like a pro! She was great at communicating to us that if we had any questions to let her know and as she was making drinks she was holding a conversation with us while we waited for her to take our order! She always was really quick at making all the drinks!! I would definitely come back to try another drink!!

2/11/2026 Stockholm Fog (The perfect of Mocha + Chai flavor blend) They gave me a sample of this as iced drink. Spicy, but very creamy and slightly on the sweeter side. You can taste the chai flavors which is forward in this drink, but due to the creaminess of the milk and the chocolate, it is a harmonious drink. It is slightly more on the sweet side. Cappuccino (2oz double shot of Classic or Modern Espresso + the milk of your preference Served in a 5oz cup) It was good and creamy. Did add a packet of sugar as usual. Light sourness and bitterness of the espresso. The temperature could be hotter, as it would probably get cold much sooner than later. Personally, it wasn't my favorite cappuccino, as I like my drinks a bit more frothier. Customer Service The person taking my order was nice, but at the same time, I can tell she was a bit annoyed at my many questions of their coffee options. However, she got through it with a smile! The barista making the drink was very nice and encouraged me to order a cappuccino with chocolate, as she made one for herself earlier. I was going to, but maybe another time. Space / Ambiance It is a nice modern space, mostly dark furniture and tables and chairs of metal and wood. About 9 tables of 2. All of them were taken by those working on their laptops. There was a bench in the corner towards the wall, which were directly facing the tables right in front of them, which would be an awkward seat to take. Gladly I snagged a table near the front and it was nice and cozy. Parking Free street parking. Not a whole lot of spots close to the coffee shop, but if you do find one, you would never want to leave!

Its very rare that I order a vanilla latte, after all, it so basic right? Well, not here. My intent when I ordered was to get it and go, but after the first sip, I was like, 'Wait, this is amazing," so I decided to stay a while and enjoy the flavor which was in line with the atmosphere- soft, inviting, and relaxing. Go off The Boy & The Bear! Great customer service, great drink, well thought out vibes. I will return time and time again.

Service: server did not smile at all. Seems like ordering was a burden for her. Ambiance: nice decor. But I felt like I had to whisper in there like a library. Food: white tea was refreshing. Got the sourdough toast with salted butter and jam. Eh Don't think I'll be returning.

Was this the best coffee I've had in the LA area? No, was it good? Yes! My go to drink is a Flat white with oat milk and this place had it, but unfortunately it lacked the rich velvety smoothness of a delicious ristretto shot. It wasn't super bitter so I was happy about that. The service was great, staff was friendly and super helpful to the customer before me and to me. It's a cute little shop so I will definitely be back to try something else. Of interest, street parking is free but hard to come by.

Delicious coffee, delicious pastries, immaculate design & ambiance, and charming baristas. Located on the corner of Green and Mentor is this super cool but unassuming building. The exterior wall with large windows is dotted with minimalist seating. Just a couple small tables and chairs to enjoy your morning latte as passersby greet you. As soon as you enter, the rich dark academia decor instantly sets a calming tone. The baristas are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I ordered an iced honey latte but I was lucky to taste the hot vanilla latte as well and both were nutty, rich, perfectly sweetened and delicious. I fell in love with the place and hope to visit again soon Note: Outside food and drinks not allowed so don't try to bring the previous night's dessert with you. :P

The Boy and The Bear in Pasadena is a wonderful spot for great coffee and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Colombian coffee and decor influences with latin music is a welcomed break from the cookie cutter coffee shops. The space is charming and thoughtfully designed, making it the perfect place to catch up with friends, get some work done, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with a really good cup of coffee. 4.8* Coffee 4.8* Service 5* Ambiance The coffee is smooth, rich and clearly made with high quality beans and roasted to perfection. By the time we arrived, they had sold out on all their pastries.... I guess you have to get there earlier in the day to enjoy their very popular sweets. I loved my macchiato as it had a great ratio of espresso and milk. The latte was also good however, next time, I want to try their other specialty brews.

What a great vibe! Plenty of places to work or study, connect with friends or read a book while enjoying a beverage. The location is really beautiful, smells good, and is in a charming location. The coffee was good - I think? I'm new to drinking coffee and wanted a latte or cafe au lait. I'm not a good judge! The people behind the counter were competent, a bit aloof, but that's kind of the vibe.

3.5 Stars Coffee 3/5 Service 5/5 The Boy & The Bear. It's a cute name and the logo is cute too. This coffee roastery was established in 2012. They source their coffee from small farms in Columbia that are dedicated to producing top-quality beans. I've heard great things about TBTB and since it's near my gym I decided to stop in for a pre-workout caffeine fix. The design aesthetic is sleek & modern. The first thing you notice is the stunning mural on the wall, which emits art-deco vibes. There are tables along the wall in case you want to work or just relax in one of the comfy chairs. The lady that took my order was very friendly. I saw that they had a seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte, so I requested it with almond milk. The latte was smooth & creamy. I could taste a hint of the spices but the coffee flavor was non-existent. It was more milk than coffee. I should have asked for an extra shot of espresso. I was also shocked that it was $10! Ay, caramba! Definitely not worth the price. They also offer classes such as Latte Art & Pour Over Brewing Method, which you can sign up for on their website. *Street Parking

Came here on a Friday to really enjoy and take in this coffee spot. Didn't disappoint and was able to have a nice and slow morning. I had their macchiato and a cheese danish. Come and visit this place on a quieter part of Pasadena.

She was genuinely engaged in talking about coffee, understood the beans she was serving, and was able to answer questions without hesitation. That's becoming harder to find these days, and it definitely added to the overall experience. The cortado itself was well executed. The temperature was right where it should be, allowing the flavors to come through immediately without having to wait for the drink to cool down. I was able to clearly taste the notes in the coffee, and the balance between the espresso and milk was excellent. The body held together nicely throughout the drink and never felt thin or watered down. My only critique would be that the crema and microfoam leaned a little more matte and foamy than glossy. It wasn't enough to take away from the drink, but a slightly silkier, shinier texture would have elevated it even further. That said, this was an Ethiopian natural, which can be a bit trickier to dial in and pair with milk while still preserving the character of the coffee, so it's a fairly minor criticism. Overall, a very good cortado from a shop that clearly cares about coffee. Good execution, proper temperature, clear flavor separation, and knowledgeable staff always make for a better coffee experience.
