I've been going to TBTB since they opened the first store in my hometown in 2012. When they started out it was amazing 3rd & 4th wave coffee. Now, it leaves much to be desired. The green store is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing but the vibe when you stay for a while is not it. Neither are the prices. I paid upwards of $9 for an iced oat matcha. Nothing else added to it. (It's a great matcha, which is why I do it but I can't really justify that often.) I stayed for a while to do some work, and the store is lined of people working remotely. So it's nice for people like me, I guess. Unfortunately, it was stuffy as heck in there and the music was so so distracting and loud. It's good background music if you're ordering and leaving, but definitely not if you're staying in. I actually started feeling overwhelmed and left due to the stuffy air and music. The girls working today were super nice! So that was a great plus. Anyway, overall not impressed with tbtb over the years which is sad. :: Drink :: I'm finally trying The Boy and The Bear after driving by numerous of times, as well as having it bookmarked ever since reading about them in an Eater article. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was really good! The espresso was strong and it was not overly sweet! :: Service :: The gentleman who took my order and made my drink was great. It was nice to be greeted with a smile when I walked in, as well as when I picked up my drink. The latte was made pretty quick, I came just in time before the Sunday AM rush. :: Ambiance :: I loved seeing all the greenery (plants, chairs, walls, and mural). It must've been my lucky day, too, since there was THE cutest pup in the shop. I've been to all the boy and bears and each has its own sense of class and charm. Today I had the silver needles tea which is my favorite at BB. Service was fast, which was surprising as they usually take more time to steep the tea. Today was "toss the bag in and pour the water." Done. The cafe has a decent amount of seats and plugs for those wanting to work. Parking all along Green gets full as the day goes on. read more

That said, while the experience is exceptional, the pricing--$1 per ounce for pour-over--does make frequent visits a challenge. Came here on a Friday morning as a friend picked this place to meet up for our coffee date. I would describe this location as a moody, eclectic coffee shop. Clean and modern. I wouldn't not recommend this coffee shop but to me, it's nothing special or out of the ordinary. If you are looking for a place to study or work, it is not the place for you as it is a little more on the darker side, tables are all small, and the wifi is slow. You should go to copa vida if you want to study. My friend asked if they made their chai as she wanted their chai latte and appreciated the employee saying no it was just powder. The employees were super helpful and patient with the long line and 1st time customers like us. I got the nordic cold brew for 5.50$ and it was good, but I wouldn't come out of my way to come here to get it. Parking is street parking only, which can be hard on Green street. read more

This coffee shop is located off Green in Pasadena. Street parking only so you may just have to walk a little depending on time of day and where you find parking. There are a few tables inside. I tried the chai and a croissant. Tea was great, not too sweet just how I like it. And croissant well made, nice a flaky. Not a cutesy instagrammy place but good drink and good variety of pastries. If you just need a stop to relax or grab a quick snack this is a good spot. read more

Such a great spot in Pasadena! The coffee here is next level--smooth, rich, and never bitter. You can really taste the quality in every cup. The space is beautiful and super clean, with plenty of natural light and a calm vibe that makes it easy to hang out or get a little work done. The staff is always so friendly and helpful when it comes to recommending drinks (their flat white is my favorite, but honestly everything I've tried has been excellent). This coffee house has such a unique atmosphere and great staff. Both the barista and the cashier were friendly at all times. Their selection of teas is really good and there's plenty of seating (but it does get filled up quickly, though). One thing that stood out to me is how they have their own merch here for sale. And it's all high-quality stuff too. They also have electric outlets for someone doing a bit of light work (I stayed for an hour working on my laptop) which makes the place even more welcoming. Especially since, as of late, other coffee shops have gotten rid of those electric outlets and you're forced to rely on battery power for as long as you're there. It is not so in this place, and for that, I was grateful. read more

This coffee shop is a dimly-lit little spot on Green street with very interesting drinks that were intriguing for me. For example, I've never tried a Stockholm Fog so it made me very curious! This drink has mocha mixed with the chai mix, so it's on the sweeter side, but it wasn't overpowering. The taste was more on the subtle side, and not as spicy as other chai drinks, which I suspect is because of the mocha mixed with it that masked the flavor. The quiet ambience of the coffee shop was interesting and we were surprised to see the area where pastries would normally be was completely empty. The service was generally nice. I would come back here again for the drinks, and possibly their canned kombucha, which they have in their fridge. PARKING: Limited but free in the back lot. TB &TB Pasadena This place by far is one of my favorite spots! I love everything about it!! The modern decor, floral prints and plants makes me feel like I am on v-k alongside their extensive music playlist that set the mood. My drink of choice is Iced Matcha latte, with oat milk. They use a high quality ceremonial grade matcha, which is the best that I have had for a coffee shop. I don't drink coffee, but when I do pick one up for my hubby, there is nothing but the sound of satisfaction. Their pastries are perfect mixture of savory or sweet, and delicious. Lastly, I appreciate the Baristas. Everyone is welcoming, has great customer service, takes pride in making drinks, and creative. Their drinks are always consistent. Stumbled upon this place with a friend. The exterior and interior are beautifully decorated and have a dark, elegant vibe. I had an a carrot cake donut, which was very good and moist. My friend had an almond croissant, which she loved. However, I was disappointed by the chai latte and its flavor was weak. Good place to study, but not a great place to talk a lot with a friend. I was excited to try this because I live in the area. I ordered matcha latte and iced Americano, but their matcha was truly disappointment. I understand that when store gets busy, you tend to work faster, but if it affects the quality of my drinks, I rather wait a little longer. My matcha latte still had tons of chunks, so they were not dissolved completely, resulting in having my matcha latte tasteless because their matcha flavor stay in those chunks.. :( It only tastes like milk.. We came here on an early Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy. I read a lot of reviews about the wait time being long but we didn't experience that at all. We got our drinks fairly quick and were able to find a table to work at. + Salted caramel latte: This was delicious, very creamy and rich in flavor. It's on the sweeter side but it's a nice treat. + Stockholm fog: This is a blend of mocha and chai, personally I'm not a huge fan of chai but the taste was very unique. It's velvety and rich in chocolate. The interior is quite aesthetically pleasing, very clean and relaxing with plants all around. Great place to work or catch up with friends. I also love that they are dog friendly, I saw lots of furry friends during my time there. I would definitely come back and perhaps give their pastries a try next time. Amazing coffee! I ordered a almond latte and it was so good. I will be honest. I was a bit nervous coming here because I was afraid I might ended up with a bland/weak coffee like many other coffee places I been to. I m glad i haven't given up on my search for good coffee. I would have missed my opportunity with this place. The almond latte had a thick smooth coffee taste to it with the almond flavor that didn't over power the coffee. I asked for a little sweeter when I ordered. I didn't expected to be perfect to my liking. To my surprise, the barista did a wonderful job. I didn't needed to ask for any adjustments. Thank you!!!! As for the croissant, it was not the best. It was a bit dry and needed to be a bit warmer. Still giving this place 5 stars because I enjoyed the latte very much. I think the business heard all of you...I've been thrice and have not seen any plant bugs/flies! I promise. The only thing I've experienced is a darkened, beautiful, high-ceiling, artistic, room with pretty good chances of getting decent parking on a tree-lined Green Street, excellent coffee shop vibes, good customer service, great schwag (tshirts, coffee beans, totes, journals, pins, stickers, patches...), amazing lattes served in great drink ware, excellent pastries...and what else would you want from a coffee shop?! They're quick and even when busy I had an amazing product that was executed with precision. Definitely a new spot on my routine latte & coffee drinking escapades. Proof Of Vaccination: Due to the city of pasadena, this shop is a bit more relaxed on showing proof of vaccination when you patronize this shop. All the other three locations, require you to show your vax cards to dine in. Credit Cards: Transactions are made through credit cards. Cash is not king here! Location/Parking: Located on the NE corner of E. Green St. and S. Mentor Ave.. Metered parking, but if you come earlier it is freee! I believe metered parking starts around 8am. Ambiance/Decor: The interior design was very nice and had modern furnishings through out the shop. Gives off a chill vibe. Love the mural (Fauna and Flora) that is near the coffee bar area. Quick Facts Of Fauna and Flora: Flora and fauna refer to plants and animals in the broadest sense of the words, encompassing pretty much all life on Earth. In general scientists break down the different types of flora and fauna into different classifications, ranging from a specific type of life down to an individual species. Service: Esther was great! She was friendly, attentive, and very informative of the shop. Drink and pastry was ready at decent time. Coffee Of Choice: Went with their medium roast drip coffee. Went down the hatch very smoothly. I even asked for some ice cubes to cool down the coffee a bit, because nobody has the time to wait for coffee to cool down before consumption. :P Pastry Of Choice: They get their supply from Cake Monkey. It is located in a calm area of pasadena, so there is plenty of street parking and not your typical long lines to get coffee on a weekend... Step inside, and see what a cozy/trendy place this is... mural behind the counter... plants all around and music in the background... -making your coffee more enjoyable Coffee is good enough to get a 2nd cup ( I don't think they offer reills), meaning pay for another cup!!.. - some coffee shops, I've had to purchase another cup bcuz I enjoyed the atmosphere... and this place is on of them!! Friendly staff... no issues, yet again, I just ordered and waited for coffee, so no big interaction... My wife got a salted caramel latte, and she was happy with her choice (I only get regular coffee anywhere I go).... Outside and inside is nice and calming atmosphere. Service was so so, the cashier did not listen to my requests, even though he asked to verify what I was requesting. Barista seemed upset when I explained to her what I meant by leaving room in the cup. When you walk in, the wall has a beautiful backdrop. Very eye-catching and intricate! The ambience is very relaxing and clean and hipster. It was kinda chilly with the AC. The seats by the front door are very comfortable. They had 2 books on the table (one of Columbia's beautiful buildings and another about Coffee Shops). It was fun to look through and made me truly feel like I was in a coffee shop. I ordered the Stockholm Fog (mocha + chai) and it was delicious! I also shared an almond croissant with my husband and it was good but messy (as all croissants are). I give this place 4 stars because it is quite pricey so I would not be able to come here frequently. You get what you pay for (feels quite posh as my husband put it). The other day I went to check out this shop and had a good experience. I would say the stand outs were the cool decor and clean look to the furniture. The shop had a nice layout of seating with a couple outdoor benches with small tables for your drinks. I thought it'd be ideal for a morning coffee and read. The parking situation was fine as well with a couple of options. The coffee was great but I personally enjoy cold brew or iced coffee and options in that area were limited. However, the latte options were solid. Overall, I would go back but mostly because of the vibe and to try get more into lattes. read more

So the vibes are cute but the last time I went there was a weird draft around my feet which made it super cold. Other than that, it's so hipster and quaint - perfect for a cafe spot to do some reading and grab a cuppa. The seating isn't designed for long-term seating and I don't think there was Wifi the last time I went. Open and spacious coffee shop with high ceilings. Has a bit of a moody vibe with the dark grey walls and black tables. There was an interesting choice of music when I was there, not your typical coffee shop music, but it didn't bother me too much. Menu has pretty standard fare and wasn't really extensive. The pastry case was also nearly empty by the time I got there at noon on a weekday. There were tables scattered around the shop and there were a nice mix of people doing work and chatting. More tables could probably be added to a space this big. The latte I got was also very standard but came in a huge mug, so I was very happy with that. Good place to get some work done. read more
