If you're reading this and considering going, just do it. The menu is never ending, they have stations almost with sandwiches, paninis, wraps, pizza, pasta, hot food, bagels and then a whole cafe with coffee and pastries. Not to mention almost every drink ever made available in the coolers to purchase . Seating inside as well. Fair prices with a sandwitch being around 10-12$ Got the panini and some slices and was in love. This place seems to be loved by locals and tourists. Would recommend this place to everybody looking for a nice place to sit down and annoy a delicious breakfast or lunch

Fraudulent Overcharging and Tax Manipulation at The Bread Factory Cafe Date & Time of Incident: March 16, 2025 (Sunday) at 5:30 AM Location: The Bread Factory Cafe, 470 7th Ave, New York, NY 10018 Incident Summary: On March 16, 2025, at approximately 5:30 AM, I visited The Bread Factory Cafe to purchase breakfast. The menu listed an omelet at $10.95, but when I proceeded to pay, the total came to $16.55. I inquired about the discrepancy, and the cashier provided the following explanations: 1. Weekend/Holiday Surcharge: The menu posted that there would be a $1 extra charge for omelet orders on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The cashier explained this, which I understood. 2. Egg Price Increase: There was a sign stating that an additional $0.50 would be charged for egg orders, but instead, they charged me $1, effectively keeping an extra $0.50 beyond what was posted. 3. Tax Overcharge: The actual correct price should have been $12.45, but the cashier was attempting to charge me $16.55, which suggested an incorrect tax calculation. When I pointed out that the tax was too high, the cashier explained that she had applied 8.875% New York City sales tax to $12.95, which resulted in a final price of $14.10. Calculation Breakdown: Original Price: $10.95 Weekend surcharge: $1 Egg surcharge: $0.50 Correct Price: $12.45 Overcharge Details: Initially, I was overcharged to $12.95 instead of the correct $12.45. An unauthorized overcharge of $2.50 was applied to the total, which was being kept for the cashier's personal benefit. This $2.50 overcharge was added on top of the correct price, making it $14.95. This should not have been the case, as the actual correct total should have been $12.45 + $1.10 tax = $13.55 (after tax). However, the cashier was trying to charge me $16.55, which included the unauthorized overcharge: $12.45 + $1.10 tax + $3 "overcharge" = $16.55 (the price she was trying to charge me, lying to me about the "tax"). Once I questioned the overcharge, she immediately changed the total to $14.10, which means she still kept $0.50 extra on the base price, charging $12.95 + $1.15 tax = $14.10 instead of the correct $13.55. Once I questioned the price, she immediately became defensive and aggressively tried to justify her fraudulent actions, saying, "I am just a cashier, I got no time for this, move aside!" That was the moment I could tell she had been caught cheating on the tax rate and was trying to shut down any further questions. After catching this issue, I realized that this was not a simple mistake--this cashier has been cheating every customer who comes into the store, adding extra unauthorized charges, and keeping the difference for herself. Cashier Description: Hispanic woman in her late 30s to early 40s Wearing black leggings, a black hat, and black running shoes Hair tied back Gold earrings A mole on her right cheek Thick eyebrows Slim body type Action Taken: After realizing the overcharge, I called 911 immediately to report the issue for fraud and theft. However, no officers arrived at the scene. Four hours later, I received a call stating that police would not respond as it is a civil matter and recommended filing a complaint with consumer protection agencies or seeking legal action. Supporting Evidence: 1. Receipt available for submission (attached). 2. The receipt shows no itemized breakdown of the food ordered, only a vague reference to "tax" and an inflated total amount. 3. I have been visiting this store for the past month and suspect I have been overcharged multiple times. Request for Investigation: I am formally requesting an investigation into The Bread Factory Cafe for: Potential fraudulent pricing practices Improper tax application and possible tax fraud Unauthorized overcharging and possible employee theft Failure to provide an itemized receipt upon request

Chaos. And I mean that as a compliment. The menus are overwhelming and range from ramen, bagels, delicious looking pastries, soups and salads, bagels and coffee. The line moves very quickly and it took me a few minutes of staring at the process just to catch on to how things work and what I wanted. Once I ordered, we had our sandwiches in less than 5 minutes. They were hot and delicious. A very loud and busy eating area with a quick customer turn around. This place did show up on our maps and we stumbled on it by accident.

If you are looking for something for a tasty a budget meal, this is a good place. There is a variety of food, pizza, bagels, soups, Mexican, and more! Good customer service and there are some tables to seat inside.

Do not waste your time standing in line at the liberty bakery are the other bagel shop across the street from it come to the brake company. The service is great. The ambience is gives neighborhood vibes and the food is delicious. My husband and I both got bacon, egg and cheese bagels and we were not disappointed. Come here and enjoy a great bagel in the neighborhood spot.

I was in New York City for vacation and we stopped here for a quick lunch. Not only is it an amazing bakery It has a hot bar with hot prepared foods, a pasta bar where you can make your own pasta and a rice bowl bar where you can make your own rice bowl all with several different meat choices and vegetables and different sauces. I did make your own pasta It was so delicious It was served in a to-go container which was so smart because I could not eat the whole thing in one setting. My food had amazing flavor and the pasta was not overcooked and it was refreshing to be able to pick my own toppings and meat.

This is a really good solid place for a quick breakfast. they are open on the weekends and the rest of the area is pretty empty, so if you need a quick grab and go breakfast and you are in Midtown it is a good spot to stop off at. I came here with a family and they ordered a good variety of options. They mostly have outdoor seating at the moment because of Covid. But they have a lot of space inside as well. The space inside is laid out like a mini food court where you have a variety of options of items to choose from for breakfast or brunch. We did try the burger as well as coffee a few sandwiches and fries. The food was pretty average but well prepared and came out pretty quickly from a service standpoint. They also helped us to get more tables and chairs for the party because we were on the larger side since there were six of us.

    Burrito Supreme, Lox Bagel Sandwich

Before SantaCon, my friend and I stopped at The Bread Factory Cafe for a quick breakfast. She got the burrito supreme, and I got the Lox bagel. As a lover of smoked salmon, I LOVED my Lox bagel. There was PLENTY of salmon, the bagel was slathered in cream cheese, and of course, the bagels themselves did not let me down. If you're looking for a quick breakfast near Times Square, I would recommend this spot!

The Mango and Pistachio looked so realistic and mirrored the flavors perfectly. I love the size of their cakes which are perfect to share with a group of 4. I indulged in their Black Sesame Mochi Cake and Blueberry Chiffon Cake which both have the fluffiest sponge cake base, a fluffy vibrant cream, and fresh ingredients and fruit. Give their drinks a try too. I enjoy their matcha here! The Traffic Lights is a strawberry matcha with a mango cream top. And I also tried their Black Sesame Latte but substituted the espresso for matcha and loved this customized pairing. FYI, there is no bathroom!

Finally decided to try this place after walking by it for years. I refused to try this in the past,…read morebecause I didn't like how many items they put on display. It felt like items weren't made with care and mass produced at a factory or something. I went 10 minutes before they closed and there was still 10+ of each dessert. I'm not convinced that they will dispose of them. Even if they do, it means they didn't do a good job in forecasting demand especially after being in business for multiple years. I ordered mango and yuzu. Both were too sweet and had one dimensional flavor and textures, not refreshing per their stated flavors. Even if their appearances take effort, they don't look pretty enough for me to forgive what goes in my mouth. I'm used to having patisseries with many layers and elements. Mango's sponge probably only took up 20% of the bottom, because I barely had bites of it. Most of my bites didn't have any. I didn't like how liquid the filling was. It didn't exactly ooze out but just melted into a puddle in my mouth. Yuzu looks pretty with the pink and yellow glaze, but it didn't go with the realistic fruit theme. I chose it for the flavor combination which is strawberry, yuzu, and guava. This was slightly better in terms of flavor variety in the mouth. The flower on top had a weird off putting flavor. The bottom crispy rice apparently is supposed to be chocolate but it came out plain. It was tasteless anyway, so not effective in terms of flavor or texture.

I had to run to work after an appointment so I ordered for takeout. The person taking my order was friendly. I opted for the Lumberjack and a black cold brew. I received the drink very quickly, with a short wait for the sandwich. While waiting, one member of the staff stocking up supplies on the side started chatting with me and then she offered to check up on my sandwich. She came out with it shortly thereafter. She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. The place was bustling with people, and everyone seemed happy and excited -- from the customers to the team behind the counter and the baristas. The cookie case was overflowing with so many amazing choices that it was hard to decide! I ended up getting the Rocky Road cookie, a Double Chocolate Chip cookie, a Two Chip Chocolate Chip cookie, and a blueberry muffin to enjoy for breakfast the next morning. The service was absolutely impeccable, and everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly, and delightful. When I got home, I had half of the Rocky Road cookie with a cup of tea, and it was incredible. The cookie was large and chunky but still perfectly enjoyable -- not heavy or overwhelming. It literally melted in my mouth. The chocolate was rich and smooth, and every bite was just delicious. The next morning, I tried the blueberry muffin, and it was just as impressive. It was light and airy, not overly sweet like many blueberry muffins can be. It truly felt like a breakfast pastry. The blueberries tasted fresh and burst with flavor in every bite. I will definitely be back for more cookies. This was such a wonderful find, and I'm so happy my coworker introduced me to this place!
