I've had a great breakfast here and a not so great breakfast here. It's a happening spot. Lots going on. Everyone seems busy. Crispy bacon came out like charcoal. Haha. But the Benedict with the spinach on the rosemary sourdough is bomb. Today I got the Eggs Papi with soy rizo, the plate didn't have enough green on it so I ordered a side salad to compensate. They just opened their second spot on Redondo & 4th and are ready for action. I hit them up recently and here's what I had. Meatloaf Steak & Eggs This was my first time having meatloaf for breakfast. It was a tasty thick cut slice of meatloaf made with beef, pork, and soyrizo. I got it topped with two sunny side up eggs, but you can get them any way you like. It also comes with a potato pancake and house rosemary sourdough bread. I gotta say I'm pretty stoked on meatloaf for breakfast now. Pig Candy Donut Sammie Donuts are one one my absolute fave breakfast items. So I totally had to have this Donut Sammie when I saw it on the menu. It's a glazed donut stuffed with whipped cream cheese filling and then topped with powdered sugar. Pure donut decadence!! BYBP (Backyard Bourbon Punch) Can't go to the Breakfast Bar without having a cocktail! So I went with their Backyard Bourbon Punch. It's got Knob Creek, lime juice, rasberry syrup, ginger beer with a lime wedge and blood orange wheel garnish. Super refreshing and smooth. To make things more awesome, they've started their Late Nights hours at the new location and are open until 12am Thursday, Friday, & Saturday! For $7.00 a small glass i expected it not to be watered down mostly. We ordered a shrimp an grits appetizer that never came out an a side of pancakes that as well never came out. Our waitress, Mo, was so welcoming and offered her menu suggestions. Uncle Marcee's omelet casserole was absolutely amazing and came with a potato pancake very different from any potato pancake I've ever had. It was super crunchy yet moist and was full of flavor. The lemon cake pancake was a sweet treat to finish off the meal. There were a few other items I would like to try, but when I return I definitely will order the omelet casserole again. It was difficult to get the final bill without leaving the table to track down a waiter. Your bill come paperless on a handheld electronic device which makes it prohibitive to check items ordered and cost. It also makes adding a tip difficult and awkward when the waiter is standing next to you looking over your shoulder. Best to take your business elsewhere. read more
