A pretty decent local breakfast. Nothing fancy, nothing spectacular, but all in all a nice breakfast plate. Service was super fast and friendly. The portions were ample and everything was tasty enough. The hash browns were not crispy enough for my liking. They have all the breakfast items you could want including their house made ham which I found to be a tad salty even for a ham. It seems to be a family run place and they were hustling all over. My best friend and I went here for the first time this morning and while he loved it at first sight, I had my doubts. The atmosphere was lacking a bit but they did happen to have nice table cloths that sparked it up and made it feel a little better. I got the One Egg platter with bacon and hash browns with a large coffee. I was surprised that a cup of coffee was $2.25 to only come with two Coffeemate creamers however they did have turbinado in the sugar bin on the table which made me very happy. The eggs were scrambled to perfection. The hash browns are more like breakfast potatoes as they were not as crispy as most places but you could tell they were homemade which is always good; also nicely seasoned I did have the need to add salt. The platter came with one piece of perfectly cooked bacon, but was well enough with the enormous amount of hash browns that came with. My best friend ordered the big stack of pancakes (3) and it was a big stack, he could only get through two. I don't like syrup and butter on my pancakes so I tried just an untouched piece of pancake and I promise they are better than any other pancake I've ever had; very sweet and fluffy! The service however was lacking in the fact that most of the staff was sitting at the bar when not checking on people, and was unprofessional. I paid with a card and got my check back as usual however, my friend paid with cash and was not given his check back as the waitress kept the change. Both of our meals were under $10 which was comforting. Not to be picky, but as a health conscious person I noticed that there were no healthy options besides sugar-free syrup. I'm going to have to agree with the previous review; The Breakfast Place is full of great and friendly people but the food is nothing to write home about. It's not bad, just not above average. I had a chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns and biscuits and gravy while the significant other had an omelette. The food was plentiful and we ate well, but there wasn't anything which would make this place stand out or I'd wake up on any given morning and feel like I must go here for breakfast. On an interesting note, if you're a big eater and into food challenges, try this on for size: Big Rooster Challenge: 9 Grade A eggs stuffed with your choice of one pound of Ham, Sausage, or Bacon and topped with a half pound of cheese. 1 pound of hash browns, a side of double stacked pancakes, and 5 pieces of toast. I want first start off by saying if my review was based on the food alone or even the wait staff I have experienced over these last 7 years since I discovered this place it would DEFINITELY be five stars ... For the most part my husband or I would call in orders for pickup and maybe dine in every blue moon. Never had a problem with customer service nor our meals... Today 11/4/2021 I called in my order as I have many times prior . (Pictures are from last week visit dine in and pick up, shows how OFTEN I patronize this place )After placing my order I was asked for my credit card number over the phone. ( I don't believe in giving my credit card number over the phone. I have founf written credit card numbers on the ground at places or even overheard a cashier repeat a customer credit card information back to them on the phone while I was around). I asked when did this start I have NEVER had to give that information over the phone... I THAN PROCEED to say just cancel I WILL COME IN TO PLACE MY ORDER . The cashier than informed me that she was just going to go ahead and place the order. Either way was fine with me. If your policy says you need the card number and I refuse I will just place my order in person. My issue comes when I go to pick up the order . A lady I HAVE NEVER SEEN (usually an older lady is checking out ) was there and introduce her self as the owner assistant. She was EXTREMELY rude about the whole situation about me saying I did not want to give my card information out over the phone . She proceeds to tell me in a VERY rude manner about what their policy is and I informed her SEVERAL times that I did OFFER TO CANCEL THE OVER THE PHONE order AND COME IN AND PLACE AND PAY for THE ORDER. Her attitude and the way she talked to me and handled the situation was very UNPROFESSIONAL, especial coming from an owner or owner assistant. There is always a way to explain a policy with out attitudes and being Straight up RUDE. ESPECIALLY when I tried to follow the policy and their employee ALLOWED me to still place the order with nothing said but I will place it without your credit card information . NO , Her attitude DID NOT REFLECT the warm comfortable feeling you usually get while visiting here, BUT it did reflect how I felt as customer interacting with an OWNER or OWNER representative. My family loves this place. The food is good, but I only give it 3 stars. At least they finally updated their road sign so one can actually find it. Now, if they could just do something about the abysmal parking situation! I've not had a bad meal here, from omelettes to burgers, the hot cakes and the chicken and waffles, all good. What I can't understand is why they have the worst hash browns in all of eternity. If Satan were to go out for hash browns, this is where he'd come. Even if you order them extra crispy, they still come out soggy as pasta. The last time this happened, I gave up and asked if I could just get French fries, instead, which they did for me. My father is the same way, he likes his crispy, but he can never get them prepared that way. The staff is very friendly and it seems mostly family-run. They do have some really good items on the menu, and it's not all breakfast stuff. When the family are in town, I know I'll be eating here. The food and staff are great! The pork chops are one of their amazing breakfast platters is worth the visit alone! Stack that with the pancakes or waffles, and even their variation of a philly cheesesteak, is mouthwatering. This is easily a four star breakfast spot. I'd even go as far as a 4.5. The food is that good, great prices and large portions. However the interior is cramped and dim in light. A hit on cleanliness also drops this to a respectable 3.5! Wish, yelp allowed half stars. Been once before and liked the food. Today after waiting 20+ minutes for anyone to ask for our drink order I asked the lady who sat us if we were going to be waited. She seemed surprised that no one had at least brought out our drinks but we hadn't even given a drink order. She hollered at someone behind the counter and the lady said she'd be right with us. The lady who sat us said they were short one server. By this time the restaurant was half empty and we waited another 15 minutes and the lady behind the counter never came out.
