Been going to this place since it opened and they have never changed their hometown burger place feel!

I used to frequent the Burger Joint and generally liked their food. That was until one day we found a razor in their fries. Now because we generally thought very highly of them, we didn't make a big deal out of it. However, neither did they. The cooks never offered us a refund and the manager acted like we were out for money, when in all honesty we saved their behinds from a lawsuit. Needless to say, the lack of reaction from the management to a VERY serious situation (one which could have ended one of their loyal customers in the hospital) caused us to not only decide to never eat their again, but to be sure to let others know to never eat there again. The RAZOR IN THE FOOD was the result of the manager refusing to fully clean out the fry cooker after it broke. We never received an apology, and were only met with an ungrateful attitude. EDIT: The manager contacted us to sort out this misunderstanding. We were very pleased with their response and I've updated my rating to reflect our usual experience. ORIGINAL REVIEW My family and I have been here many times before and have enjoyed the food each time. Unfortunately, when we arrived to eat today we did not even make it to ordering. We had 5 in our party, plus newborn twins in their carriers. There were no tables free for that many of us as all the larger tables were occupied by smaller parties, so after a few minutes of standing looking around and debating what to do, we pushed two adjacent tables maybe 2ft together so we could eat as a family. This did not disturb any of the other guests, block any exits or walkways or cause any issue or any reaction from anyone, staff included. There were no signs saying not to move tables, no one said anything to us at the time, and we would have returned the tables once done. About 5 minutes later we went up to order, at which time the server, without even greeting us, told us we weren't allowed to move tables. Fine. Not a problem. I asked if we could order first, and then move the tables back, and got no response other than a blank stare. Unsure of what to do, but wanting to place an order, I stood there until my husband came up to ask what the problem was. At which time the server launched into a defensive and generally rude tirade about the lack of respect shown by my husband and I. That we should have asked first to move tables and generally insinuating we were horrible human beings. When he said "would you move the tables at any other restaurant?" my patience gave in and we left to eat lunch elsewhere. At any other restaurant, the staff would have noticed a party that large, with two newborns and offered help to seat them instead of yelling at them. When my husband went back an hour or so later to talk to the manager, he was again spoken to rudely and told that our family was no longer welcome back. My husband and I both have worked a number of years in customer service and in the food industry. We know what it is like, we know the customer isn't always right and we are always extra careful to be courteous and understanding. There is no excuse for the way we were treated at the Burger Joint today. I'm disappointed to miss out on their burgers in the future, but will happily avoid an establishment where treatment of customers in this way is endorsed. read more

I worked there for a hot minute! The place is disgusting! There are gnats flying around the condiment area! They make milkshakes on the same counter they process the raw burger meat without cleaning the counter! They do not clean the blender after making milkshakes! Just a dirty kitchen! read more

I really like this place. My husband loves the turkey burger with the Joey burger toppings and I love the black bean burger (but I prefer the regular bun to the ciabatta). Onion rings, sweet potato fries, and regular fries are all great. I wasn't impressed with the chocolate shake, seemed too milky tasting to me. I really hope the people who have complained about things being awful told management or the owners. How is it fair to leave a bad Yelp review without letting them try to fix the problem? Yes, it's great if things are always perfect, but that's not realistic. read more

Yummo!! This place does an excellent burger and fries. The Sweet Potato fries are outstanding and the kids that work there are polite.

Not impressed, food was "ok". Service was not "ok", five people screwing around behind the counter, music was to loud to hear the guy taking our orders (he must have said "What?" At least 5 times) table was sticky mustard was empty, it was way too hot inside and to top it all off my wife and I both ended up in bed with stomach issues after our meal... This place was pretty bad. The hamburgers were no better then any fast food place. I had dry black and blue burger, overlooked and no flavor. The fries were over fried and burnt. The milkshake was not good at all basically tasted like milk. Save some money and head to the Wendy's down the street, better quality at cheaper price. read more

Love this place and eat here often but the service/ticket times have been progressively getting worse. Today, one cook and one cashier. Exactly 30 minutes for food to come up. Then guess what? i love this place good food . the last time i was here the GM was siting down and playing on his phone and did not come help use just let the employees take care of use i am happy that he is no longer there and that the new guy that is running the place now is doing a rely good job the place looks rely clean and the the new GM is rely nice comes out to the table to see how every thing is going takes the trash for you and is rely doing a good job. the food was rely good this time i will be back agen just to see how everything is doing with the new GM if he gets the store i thing he should get it he has made it so we would want to come back not just for the food but the staff keep up the good work guys your dong good read more

I was so excited! I have been wanting to eat here for ages. I got a gift card for Christmas and me and my husband got to go burgers and fries. We got home and half our food was missing. He ended up going back and they gave him the missing food, but still... Also, the fries were cold and old. Not just that but (worse than anything), the burger was dry and so greasy I couldn't finish it. What the heck? I wanted to love you so much, but that's not cool at all. read more

Took a 40 minute drive out on a recommendation and was not disappointed! My son said it was the best gluten free burger he has ever had. I was impressed with the perfect amount of toppings on mine. Stopped in during Art Fair, as good or better than Blimpy in AA, and much better than Red Coat or Miller's Bar. Reasonable prices too. Wife & I shared a single with cheddar cheese, onions, heinz57, L&T, pickle, with mushroom(yum) on the side as courtesy to my wife. Large fries. Less than $6. As far as the other reviewers comments about overcooked, ours was PERFECTLY medium, just pink in the middle, very moist!!! Lovely crunchy sweet/tangy pickle, while the onions weren't burnt as described, they were generous, sweet, mild & sauteed (tasted like onion rings). My wife typically does not like these, but gobbled them down happily. While slightly messy, we could not wait to bring back our kids & friends to share our find. Fries are hand cut, wonderful visual appeal, with skins, reminiscent of carnival. Very good, natural taste..though they could use a little tiny zip(they offer season salt & condiments on the side). Presentation is a old fashioned cardboard basket with your fries and the custom made burger wrapped end open sat with them. Tomato was cut up. I think, a regular slice might be better. The buttered toasted special bun tops off the experience. A real treat for us. I would be slightly more generous with fries (like 5Guys), but otherwise...for once we were NOT disappointed. KUDOS, especially during a very busy day. When many others are charging $5-7 base price, its only $3.29? or $3.39 including choice of cheese and everything I described above on the burger, fries were $1.99/$2.49 w/sandwich. I stopped into Burger Joint because my family and I were craving burgers and it seemed like the best bet. I walked in and found the ambiance quite quirky, in a good way! The decor was unique, and I liked that. We were greeted by the cashier, who immediately asked us if we were eating here or to go, which made me feel like I was being rushed into ordering immediately, rather than given time to look at the menu. I quickly chose to build my own burger, with 1/4 chuck, cheese, mayonnaise, and bacon with a side of fries and a medium drink. My dad ordered the same thing, minus a drink, and my brother ordered something similar. Our total came to $39 and some change, which shocked me quite a bit! Why was it so expensive? The burgers do not come with a combo option, which means we all purchased fries and drinks separately, making everybody's meal over $10 each. I thought that was kind of annoying, but oh well. The burger and fries were pretty good, but I don't think the price is very fair for what you get. They should offer meal deals. I did notice you could get discounts if you join their rewards program, which looked like a pretty good way to save some cash when ordering food here. All in all, it was an okay experience. Nothing too special. It was a good meal, but I don't think I'll be back for awhile. There are better burgers out there for way better prices, that's for sure. read more
