Super popular burger place in Melbourne - evident by their long wait time. I love that they did a prison theme for Halloween- workers were either in orange or cop costumes. The Maxi burger was huge (16oz), and you can add toppings in their list for free or extra. My burger toppings were falling because of how big it is. Worth it for $15! Def got the sautéed mushrooms but wish I got the A1 steak sauce (forgot). Their shoestring fries were okay, needed salt or something. The food took about 15 minutes to come out but they call your number and bring it to you. I came on a Wednesday evening, so I'd imagine it'd be a longer wait on weekends. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating options. The burger was rather standard, but they have a wide range of free topping options (including grilled onions and mushrooms), as well as it being on a brioche bun. I enjoyed the burger, nothing special but still good nonetheless. The shake was absolutely delicious and almost a chocolate overload. So I like a beer with my burger, but apparently the taps were malfunctioning. So, I ordered an expresso vanilla shake. It was really good, so not a beer but pretty tasty. Got a loaded 8oz cheddar cheese burger with grilled onion and mushrooms. The burger was excellent. Only weird deal was the paper napkins. They were thin and small. Not an exaggeration. Service at the front was helpful and pleasant for first time visitors. Prices were extremely reasonable. This spot is adorable! It has a retro vibe that plays wonder oldies with stylish blue and white classic furniture that just feels like an old Chevy car! Lol The fries are super super thin and crispy (my favorite but my husband least favorite) though he had a basket of fries and everyone of them was only about an inch long which made it so so hard to eat. Now onto the food. Both of our burgers were well done. But they were still surprisingly juicy. I had a bacon cheeseburger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato. My buddy had a regular cheeseburger with mushrooms and onions. And here's where the 1 star deduction comes in. The fries, although crispy, were like the bottom of a bag of fries. Just small pieces of fries that were not even able to be picked up to dip. I ended up with the option of using a fork and stabbing them. They were also on the greasy side. Good seasoning but a bit greasy. We left around 12:30 and the line was out the door and down the street. Maybe 15-20 people deep. A very popular lunch spot.
