My husband was in dire need of eating red meat yesterday. We eat a keto/carnivore way and I'm enjoying as much seafood/fish as I can on our trip here in Fla but I've been steering us to seafood places not the best beef restaurants. He wanted a big hamburger. We came in after lunch time and he got the 16 oz. burger and a side of fries (not keto or carnivore). I haven't had a potato since last Christmas and these fries looked REAL (not the frozen or processed fries most restaurants use which I wouldn't waste my time eating). I had to try a few. I wasn't hungry so I just ate a few of his fries and tried a couple bites of his burger. The fries were yummy. Almost addictive. I asked the gal at the counter about what kind of oil they used to fry potatoes in. Sadly, they use soybean oil, not tallow which is what all restaurants used pre-1980. Tallow is at least keto/carnivore friendly. My husband loved the burger minus the bun. I thought the burger was absolutely DELICIOUS. Super popular burger place in Melbourne - evident by their long wait time. I love that they did a prison theme for Halloween- workers were either in orange or cop costumes. The Maxi burger was huge (16oz), and you can add toppings in their list for free or extra. My burger toppings were falling because of how big it is. Worth it for $15! Def got the sautéed mushrooms but wish I got the A1 steak sauce (forgot). Their shoestring fries were okay, needed salt or something. The interior is all in the classic 50's (?) burger joint style, kind of similar to steak n' shake interiors. The food is reasonably priced for the locations, with burgers being approximately $6-$10, shakes being $6-$8 and fries $4-$6. I got a burger and malt shake for ~15 after tax. The food took about 15 minutes to come out but they call your number and bring it to you. I came on a Wednesday evening, so I'd imagine it'd be a longer wait on weekends. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating options. The burger was rather standard, but they have a wide range of free topping options (including grilled onions and mushrooms), as well as it being on a brioche bun. Tonight was burger night, and we are trying to search for the best burgers in Brevard County. This time we gave " the burger place" a try. So I like a beer with my burger, but apparently the taps were malfunctioning. So, I ordered an expresso vanilla shake. It was really good, so not a beer but pretty tasty. Got a loaded 8oz cheddar cheese burger with grilled onion and mushrooms. The burger was excellent. Only weird deal was the paper napkins. They were thin and small. Not an exaggeration. We went through 25 plus napkins. Lol, juicy burger, they need big napkins. So, two burgers, two shakes, large fries, with 20% tip.... $55 buck. I guess in this day and age of inflation???? This spot is adorable! It has a retro vibe that plays wonder oldies with stylish blue and white classic furniture that just feels like an old Chevy car! Lol The fries are super super thin and crispy (my favorite but my husband least favorite) though he had a basket of fries and everyone of them was only about an inch long which made it so so hard to eat. He was not happy but we guess it was the bottom of the batch (which probably should have been thrown away instead of served to customers) The milkshakes are creamy and THICK! Very iconic. One of the best places to get a burger in Brevard county. The just right amount of everything working together in perfect harmony. Service at the front was helpful and pleasant for first time visitors. Prices were extremely reasonable. My burger was cooked medium, seasoned excellent, was juicy but not so greasy that it would drip everywhere or soak the bun. Toppings were all very fresh and in perfect proportion so that not one single topping over powered the other. Fries are very good. Not quite shoe string but thinner than your standard fast food joint. Somehow they are able to cook them to the perfect crispiness on the outside without over cooking on the inside.
