We ate at The C Restaurant + Bar inside the InterContinental The Clement Monterey and honestly it was really good. Super convenient having it right there in the hotel. The food was excellent. I was a little unsure at first, but I'm really glad I tried it. I got the milk and honey toast, and it was so good... like I'm actually sad it's an hour and a half away because I'd go back just for that. My husband had the avocado toast with two poached eggs, my daughter had the pancakes, and we also got fresh berries, grapefruit juice, orange juice, and hot chocolate. Everything was good, no complaints. Our server Claudia was really sweet, very patient, and knew the menu well which I appreciated. Joe, I think he was the manager, came over and talked to us and shared a little background about the food and the chef, which made it feel more personal. They mentioned the cook had been on Food Network and created that milk and honey toast, which made sense after tasting it. Overall just a really good experience, good food, good service, and I'd definitely go back.
We came here a year ago and we love this place! In fact our same Bartender Luis was here! A very beautiful place with an amazing ocean bay view. We will eat here eventually for a full dinner but it's too much fun hanging out eat small bites to fess over a full-sized meal.
We had a wonderful experience at C Restaurant + Bar! The oceanfront view was absolutely beautiful and created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. We started with the oysters, which were incredibly fresh and full of flavor, and the clam chowder was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Between the amazing food, stunning scenery, and great ambiance, this was a memorable dining experience. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great seafood with an unbeatable ocean view!
I was really looking forward to having a meal here and we were definitely satisfied! We were staying at The Clement Hotel for a couple of days for our anniversary getaway, so I decided to make dinner reservations here for our first night. It was very convenient for us and made perfect sense to stay on site while having a few cocktails! Our reservation was set for 7pm, hoping we could catch the sunset. Unfortunately it was a bit overcast, but we still had beautiful views nonetheless. There was a romantic elegance yet fun vibe in the restaurant. There was also soft live music playing which was very nice. We were seated by the windows overseeing the ocean and we were lucky enough to see a mama sea otter with her baby swimming around in front of us, which made it even more special! I ordered the South of the Border and my husband ordered the InterContinental Drift as our first round of drinks. Both drinks were unique and delicious. We each ordered Clam Chowder as our starter which was pretty tasty. My hubby ordered the Salmon and surprisingly enough I wasn't too hungry after having the soup, so I ordered an appetizer instead. I chose the Monterey Bay Calamari thinking it was a small portion, but it was the total opposite lol. It was a boatload of Calamari and so very good! We were both pleased with our food choices and ordered another round of drinks. I decide to order the Rested Plane this time which was refreshing. We had exceptional service and our waiter was very animated and fun. I'm so sad we didn't get a chance to have breakfast here, but totally recommend it for dinner. I do know they have a good happy hour menu that we missed too!
Definitely resort prices so feels a bit overpriced, but a delicious dinner overall. Recommend making a reservation because we were able to sit by one of the windows with views of the water which was lovely. My husband and I shared the Ora King Salmon which was cooked perfectly. It was served with sautéed spinach, cauliflower, and mushrooms. We also shared the prawn and Dungeness crab pappardelle. The crab is mixed in with the sauce and 5 pieces of prawn. The sauce is creamy and salty and the lemon adds a nice fresh acidity to it. Both dishes were a good size for sharing between the two of us. We ended the meal with the milk and honey toast which was a great way to end the meal. The toast was so buttery with a nice crunch on the outside but fluffy on the inside. It's topped with ice cream, honeycomb candy, and strawberry guava jam which brought different textures and levels of sweetness to the dessert.

The food is incredible, who thought a pancake could taste so different! The environment is romantic and cozy but open and free, very nice, we had room service for breakfast but we have had dinner here before and it was divine.

5 star bar right on cannery row in the bottom of the Intercontinental Hotel! A must visit for a high-end experience on Cannery Row. PROs: Top of the line staff with a very attentive and positive attitude. The bar tender was a mixologist so I would recommend a good cocktail vice beer or wine. Oysters were superb and fresh. Bathrooms were very modern and clean. Vibes were very maritime with amazing views of the bay. It is a little pricey, but that should be expected for this quality of a product and location. CONs: Parking is very congested if you want to park close by. Valet is also an option here.
Took the most amazing walk down the trail along the bay to get to this restaurant and so happy we did. Started with a dozen oysters. They were a 3/5. I was surprised. I didn't love them. They were pretty briney and just ok. Our martinis were bomb. Hubby had delicate little floating ice in his and we hardly ever find that yumminess! It was ice cold and so yummy. Service was super great! We arrived kind of stuffed from a late lunch so we split the duck appetizer with polenta and I would absolutely get that again. We'd be back for sure. Lovely experience overall.
Came here with some coworkers for a team dinner on a Tuesday night. It was super slow inside so it was very quiet but not awkwardly so. We ordered fairly quickly and the food was delicious. I had the chicken and it did not disappoint, everyone else at the table were also very happy with their choices. It was definitely enough for two portions and I really wish I hadn't been traveling so I could have taken home my leftovers. Toward the end, it definitely felt like the waiter was trying to push us out quickly, which was surprising given they were open for another couple of hours and it wasn't busy at all. Otherwise, we had a great time.
The C Bar is one of the better restaurants in the Monterey area. I recently returned after a long hiatus, and it was exactly as I remembered it, and that's (mostly) a good thing. Food is very good. I had the duck entree, which remains the same as I remember it many years back. It's an excellent dish, with a balance of flavors and textures that are deeply satisfying. The duck breast is a remarkable piece of meat, boneless and massive, it feels like this duck hit the gym. Relatedly--and I remember this from the past, too--the duck breast is surprisingly firm. I wonder whether there's any way for the kitchen to dial up the tenderness a little. I also had a cocktail which fully met my expectations. Also apropos food, years ago I ate one of the best diver scallop dishes I've ever had here, and I notice it's not currently on the menu, I wonder whether it might return at some point. Service is very good, casual and attentive. One modest caveat here, too; I'm a believer in the slightly old-fashioned notion that you shouldn't even offer to clear plates while some at the table are still eating. Atmosphere is good, elevated but relatively casual and family friendly. On the other hand, for a non-family date night, the vibe might feel a tad too casual, especially at this price point. Price is relatively high, appropriate to what's on offer, but a meal adds up. I see in another review that a locals' discount is on offer, I guess you have to know to ask for that.
Loved the morning. Emily and staff were very attentive and worked very hard and efficiently to serve us and all in the patio. The food was exquisitely prepared. Nice view of the water (maybe trim the hedge down 3 inches). But fabulous nonetheless. The live acoustical guitar just melted the morning away. We loved our time here. Great work.
The first thing every hotel guest does after checking in is head to the bar. So after checking into the InterContinental hotel we went to the hotel bar. It was a long drive and definatly needed hydration. Nice place. Service was a little slow at first but got better. We had oysters and my partner had the Frozen Grey Goose martini while I had the All Nighter espresso martini and a glass of Chandon. (Added espresso shots in the martini). The restaurant area looked pretty packed and the bar filled up shortly after we got there. Nothing spectacular but the right place at the right time

I give this a 4 based on my meal and the view. My bf rates this place a 3 as his burrito was "very average". Service - attentive and friendly Parking - valet Restaurant - inside the hotel on the right with ocean views from ground floor I had the frittata and enjoyed it. The flavors paired well together and the texture was light and airy. The burrito was "just satisfactory" from bfs opinion. The view is really pretty. We had an absolutely incredible dinner there on Saturday night! The server and the food were delicious. We got the calamari app, Duck and shrimp and lobster pasta dish. The dessert was the Smores peanut butter deliciousness. OMG! I dreamt about that dessert last night! lol. Highly recommend! My only two complaints: - It was very very bright for a romantic restaurant. Perhaps slightly dim the lights? I felt like it was daytime inside. - The music was great, but perhaps slightly too loud. read more
The Clement Intercontinental Hotel is my favorite place to stay in Monterey. I always go to the C Restaurant at least once for food and drinks while I'm there. The Hong Kong Moscow Mule was served in a beautiful cup. It was very flavorful and had a great kick. Highly recommended. The table sourdough bread was very delicious with the butter. Their Clam Chowder soup is very well flavored and the bacon gives it an added kick. I would say one of the best in Monterey. Finally, the fish tacos were wonderful and well flavored. Definitely recommended. If you come Monday and Tuesday they will have a different menu. From Wed-Sunday, the dinner menu will be different. The tacos were on the Monday and Tuesday menu. They also have some burger choices too on the Monday-Tuesday menu. Highly recommended if you are staying here. read more

Pros: 1) valet parking 2) friendly 3) great customer service 4) very clean, quiet, nice 5) Love the wide open windows ocean view 6) others said clam dishes were good Cons: 1) Clam Chowder did NOT taste like clam chowder. Funky tasting. 2) Beef dish and Chicken dish are dry. 3) food wasn't as good as it looked in online photos. Overall: Food may have not tasted good. But the restaurant itself and workers were great. We decided to try this place for cocktails and reserved a table a day in advance. The ambiance overlooking Monterey Bay is wonderful. The food & service were exemplary. The staff really goes above and beyond to ensure you're taken care of. Their oysters are a must try... I've never had such fresh Oysters before. read more

Service was incredible. Granted, for half the time we were the servers only table. But very attentive, friendly and informative. We came in with kids and usually feel unwanted, but never got that vibe. Views are incredible. Menu variety is great. Not sure what flavor was on cauliflower gratin, but I was not a fan, citrus maybe? Just didn't go with creaminess. Salmon special was excellent. Disappointed in kids selection. Lots of steak, but no grilled chicken. Mac and cheese was from a box, when you go to a place like this, I expect everything to be fresh. I don't buy box for my kid at home, definitely wouldn't order if I would of known. My fault, I didn't ask. I really want to come back for brunch. Perfect place to eat on our first night in town while staying at the Intercontential hotel. I ordered the salmon which was great with a tasty foam and cauliflower. You must order the calamari starter. The fried lemon with the calamari is a delicious mix. We had the most helpful waiter who helped us pair wine with our meals. This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Monterey! Although the last couple times we've gone they haven't had the red abalone which is legitimately the BeST part ! However we tried a different place this time Around and even without the abalone c restaurant is still far-above any other restaurant in Monterey. The swordfish is to die for! read more

This beautiful modern restaurant was in our hotel! The table with water views was picture perfect. Our waiter was so attentive and made wonderful recommendations. We ordered the chicken risotto, halibut special and shrimp and crab pasta. All amazing!! For dessert we had strawberries and cream and smores and both were so incredibly unique. This was the best dinner experience we have had in a long time!! Highly recommended! read more

I'm giving 4 stars for the views and the menu. Although I didn't really enjoy my frittata for breakfast (because I ordered the wrong thing, trying to be healthier), the rest of my group enjoyed their breakfasts! Everything was beautifully plated and delicious looking. The OJ was good! I would go back to try dinner another night as the food and menu looked great. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive to my needs. read more

Wanted a decaf coffee, a sweet treat and to watch the ocean:) service was outstanding and everyone was so kind! Breakfast today was melt in your mouth delicious! I love the calm quiet atmosphere as well. Some of the restaurants in town you can't even hear yourself think! Highly recommend!!! read more
We came on a Sunday for Happy Hour but because it was a holiday weekend they weren't having happy hour that day. BUT that didn't stop us from getting the sparking wine flight and the calamari. They both were phenomenal. We sat at the bar where the bartenders were attentive and got us our orders quickly. They not only were attentive to us but also to those around us. I really enjoyed watching the bartenders work as they carefully crafted cocktails around us. I got a latte to end our happy hour excursion which was also very tasty. read more

I feel like I looked through all of the eatery options in Monterey (Cannery row) and this restaurant was the most appealing, reviews and picture wise. It definitely lived up to my expectations, and more! The waiter recommended the Benedicts, pancakes and steak frites. I had the Clement Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. It comes with Yukon gold potatoes but I took one bite and didn't eat the rest. They tasted boring and weren't crispy enough to my liking. My boyfriend had the buttermilk pancakes and they were literally the best pancakes I've ever had. The dish was so good, it made him smile! Service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was great. It was a relaxing and perfect start to the day. read more

Fantastic food, view, and service! Me and my partner were looking for a good breakfast around our hotel while we were staying at the Intercontinental and were being told "more than an hour wait" at multiple brunch/breakfast areas. We were itching to get going with our day, so we turned to our hotel's restaurant. We weren't expecting that much, but we were sat immediately at a table with the most GORGEOUS view of the bay. Our server (whose name is Jesse, if I recall!) greeted us with the most friendly and genuine manner I've seen in years among any restaurant. While we were enjoying the view, my partner got the breakfast burrito and I ordered the eggs benedict. Both meals were AMAZING, and the savoriness of the eggs honestly I place up with one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. My only complaint is that the potatoes are a bit heavy in addition to the eggs, and I would've preferred some kind of veggies or fruit. Flavor-wise, no complaints. My partner also loved his breakfast burrito and almost finished it, but didn't want to get too full before we went about our day. We loved breakfast so much, that we returned for dinner! There was live music playing and we ordered a few drinks and split a new york steak. We also ordered Brusselsprouts and garlic fries. While the garlic fries were nothing special, the brussels were fantastic, as was the steak. My drinks were alright, a little boozy, but service was fast and friendly. On our final day at the hotel we decided to get breakfast again and I chose the egg sandwich. (I reeaaalllly wanted those eggs benedict again, but do you wanna drive with something that heavy in your gullet?) My partner got the 2-egg breakfast. Both were great, though I wish I had gotten the bacon instead of ham, as it made the sandwich harder to bite through and a little unwieldy. Our service, again, was lightning fast and extremely friendly. I loved going to this restaurant and will likely return again on my next trip to Monterrey! read more

My husband and I dined here for my birthday and wow what a wonderful experience. We ordered the calamari, Caesar salad, and swordfish. I was even given a complimentary dessert for my birthday! I recommend calling in advance for reservations, especially if you want something with a view. The restaurant is best for special occasions. Drinks are excellent. Make sure to ask your server for recommendations. We ended up with the Intercontinental Drift, which featured Don Julio tequila. 5/5 stars read more
This restaurant & bar is in the InterContinental Hotel. It is fancy, just like the hotel! They belong together! LOL We got a congratulatory card from the Concierge which included a complimentary dessert from this place for our Anniversary. It was in our room when we checked-in to our Hotel room. It was a very nice, yet simple touch! We didn't want to waste it and we are so utterly happy we used it! This restaurant looks modern yet you can have a cozy & intimate dining experience here if you opted to. There is seating with views of the ocean and it was recommended to dine early so you can nab one of those tables. The bar drinks are super expensive and the service was alright. Not overly impressed, but we hung out together and enjoyed each other's company. Bar rating? 3 stars. While we didn't dine here, we did visit the bar a couple times and ordered our complimentary dessert. We looked over the dessert menu which had 7 items including a cheese plate on it. Our waitress recommended the Chocolate Budino, and after checking out our options, we decided to go with her suggestion. It was the best choice ever! This Chocolate Budino consists of: Valrhona Chocolate, Butterscotch, Chocolate Soil, Maldon. I have no idea exactly what most of those items are, but I do know that it was an excellently comprised dessert! It was super rich, but for once, that didn't stop us from devouring the whole thing! CLEMENT SMOKED SALMON BENEDICT! CELEMENT SMOKED SALMON BENEDICT! Did I mention CLEMENT SMOKED SALMON BENEDICT!?! This place is incredible! I was here for my husband's conference and staying at the Intercontinental. Being a proud Jew Jew Bee, my needs for smoked salmon are engraved in my blood. I was looking at the restaurant online and decided to go try this place, specifically for the Smoked Salmon Benedict. I arrived a little past 11:30am with the goal of ordering the benedict. I was met with a lunch menu and an obvious broken heart. The Assistant Manager, Brett Wales, heard my pain, and let me know that the kitchen had not switched to lunch yet and that my dreams could become a reality. It was minutes later that I was seated outside with my beautiful benedict, enjoying every little bite. The view is absolutely stunning, the food is delicious, and the service is above par. I loved it so much, I went back ALL THREE DAYS I was there, ordering the same exact thing - the Clement Smoked Salmon Benedict. The servers are excellent, especially Melissa and Renato who were my servers for both days. The grapefruit juice is delicious, the iced tea is endless, and the ambience is outrageous. Having not been one to frequent hotel restaurants, this place really surpassed every expectation. Without a doubt, my new favorite spot in Monterey, I will 1000000% be back! Thank you to Brett for making my time so special and taking SUCH GOOD CARE OF ME aand my smoked salmon needs! OH! And look at the otter photo! The World According to Noelle Allergic Girl's Guide to Life We took my grandmother here Mother's Day weekend for brunch/lunch. Checked-In via the Yelp Application on my smartphone and received free calamari. The calamari it self was the most chewy and disgusting calamari I've ever tasted in my life. My husband and I both ordered eggs benedict where we requested our eggs poached hard, when our food arrived to our table the eggs were runny which was the complete opposite of what we had ordered. First morning with the family for this trip to Monterey and we wanted to have a good heavy breakfast before we spend the whole day inside the aquarium, which is only a hop, skip and jump away. The C is found at the ground level of the InterContinental The Clement Monterey Hotel. There was no line to get seated because aside from us, there was only one other party present at the time. This was great because we got window seats which has a view of the beautiful Monterey Bay. The Clement Eggs Benedict Their regular eggs benedict has Canadian bacon, or what I call ham, while this one has smoked salmon instead. Very very good. Their hollandaise sauce is awesome. Belgian Waffle Comes with berries and cream. Yummy! The C Omelet This was full of good stuff. Each ingredient was cooked perfectly. Not one is burned or raw. Parking... well, we came really early. There are plenty of metered parking on the street but since we were planning on going to the aquarium, we parked at the lot at the south side of Cannery Row. read more

I love it when fancy places like The C Restaurant have a good happy hour, because I get to enjoy the million dollar view & atmosphere for a cost that actually fits my grad student budget! Yuan C. and I found this place while wandering down Cannery Row. It's located right next to Bubba Gump's, definitely not difficult to find. For happy hour, they let you choose indoor high-chair seating or outdoor patio seating - we opted for the patio, of course! Their happy hour is Sun-Thurs 4-7pm. It has a decent amount of draft beers, a rotating cocktail or two, a sparkling flight, and a handful of appetizers, all offered at 1/2 off. -- Big Blue Live Mojito (HH price $6.50) - Turned out to come in a super small glass that made me regret not ordering 2 beers for the same price instead. It was very sweet, which I don't mind, but I think most people would find it excessive -- Monterey Bay Calamari (HH price $7) - Definitely a bit too salty but the batter was very light, which I enjoyed. It has a bit of parmesan in it too, which is a nice touch! (*Sidenote: the waitress had me use the hotel's restroom when I asked to be directed towards one, and let me tell you, it was TOP NOTCH. We're talking cloth towels here....I'm a fan.) Overall, if I were ever back in the area during happy hour, I would consider coming back for the reasonable prices and generally high-end atmosphere. read more

We went to other restaurant first but the wait was 45 minutes. We decided to give a try based on the reviews on Yelp. It was a restaurant which was connected to the hotel, Intercontinental. The place was clean, bright and open when we walked. The hostess took us to the Window seat so we can watch the ocean. Lots of options to choose from the breakfast menu and I ordered Clement Eggs Benedict, latte and pancakes. The service was friendly and efficient. The good and latte were delicious!!! It was definitely a good choice to stop by today! read more
