Came here for brunch and the hotel validated for 3 hours of parking when dining here! Also don't forget to check in on yelp for their free calamari. The calamari is sooooo. Good! It's one of the best calamari I've had. We also ordered the ceviche appetizer and it was ok. The portion is not that big and the flavors are fine but nothing special. For entrees we ordered the steak and frites, fish tacos, steak sandwich and the burger. The steak was good. Cooked well in a red pepper sauce. The frites that comes with it is just three pieces of boiled fingerling potato.... it was odd. The fish tacos had great flavor. We ordered it with Cesar salad and the salad was bomb! So light and refreshing but flavorful. The steak sandwich comes with a huge portion! The fries that comes with it was crispy and golden brown. For dessert we got their strawberry shortcake and sundae. Both were really delicious! The strawberry shortcake had that nostalgic familiar flavor that's elevated. 3/18/18 You come here for the view and the nice, elegant ambiance and food. That is, elegant aesthetically, but you don't come here to have amazing food. Just telling you the truth. The restaurant sits right next to the ocean, with large walls of glass all around for all that beautiful light to stream in and brighten your day. We came here for brunch, so the soft morning light was truly heartwarming and serene. The all white look of nice linen even more accentuated the effect. Yet... though my eyes were pleased, and how could they not with all the natural sunlight framing my beautiful girlfriend's face?, but my appetite for equally exquisite food would not be quenched... 1. California Sparkling Flight $24: Again, the presentation was beautiful--the waitress brought our flight in a rustic wrought iron cage build to hold champagne flutes. I just thought it was so great. Four flutes, and one more to hold sliced strawberries. Just as nice as it could possibly look. The wines covered everything from modestly sweet to extremely dry. Nice variety. 7/10 2. New England Clam Chowder $15 "littleneck clams, applewood smoked bacon": Such potential! Very rustic with tons of textures, and even a great mix of cream and broth, almost like an emulsion. But alas not perfect as the clams were extremely rubbery. Both me and my gf could not figure out how anyone could make clams that rubbery even if they tried! The rosemary toasted bread had great flavor but also was too soft to stand up to dipping in soup. There's work to be done, but the dish clearly could be better. 7/10 3. Arctic Char $26 "grilled, brussels sprout leaves, applewood smoked bacon, dijon emulsion": I never noticed how similar arctic char was to salmon. I even looked it up on wikipedia thinking they gave us the wrong fish by accident. But sure enough, pictures showed thickness and color were very close to your typical wild salmon. So, don't be alarmed if that's what you think you got. Anyway, mine was a bit overcooked, but not horribly. The mashed potatoes underneath the fish were pretty standard. The brussels sprouts were cooked plainly, though my gf said she liked it that way cause it shows off their natural freshness and taste. Anyway, to me overall the dish was too average. 5/10 4. Rock Cod Tacos $19 "Monterey Bay rock cod, clinatro slaw, pasilla salsa": Not bad. Though rock cod tends to be pretty buttery, for some reason these were stringier, but it actually worked as an advantage as they stood up to all the other stuffing well, and let me tell you there was a ton of cabbage and other rabbit food hiding the fish! That might explain why my gf insisted it was kinda bland, adding more salt (which was very rare for us to do.) The fries were tasty though, and I liked even the ketchup to which I think they might have mixed in some horseradish or something? 6/10 5. Coffee $5: They kept it filled. Five bucks. Not much else to say. So, a bit on the expensive side for what you get, but not outrageously so given the nice location. Still, not awe inspiring either. NOTE: This restaurant is part of a hotel, and the valet and parking fee is waived for 3 hours if you get it validated here! Cesar salad, crab cakes, roasted salmon were the best dishes I've ever had- but the superlative surprise was the caramel banana torched meringue desert! The staff helped my mother with getting in and out of her wheelchair as did the valet. Super nice, careful and thoughtful workers. The veggies are imaginative and local fresh. It was really over priced for what we got. It's a pretty atmosphere but it was completely empty on a Friday night which is kinda concerning - especially since it's in a hotel. We have dined here multiple times for dinner. Obviously the view, if you're there before dark, is a real winner. We come for the food, though, when we're staying in the Cannery Row area. We had a great breakfast while at the C restaurant. Not sure why it's called that but the food was A+. Try the egg and ham sandwich, it is delicious, huge and filling. We stayed here and had wonderful dinner and peaceful breakfast. The view of this restaurant is perfect. We can see the ocean through big windows, we saw dolphins too! Arrived in Monterey to attend the exclusive Porsche "Project Gold' event. Had a great time, met influential people, saw amazing cars. And even though the food was good, my wife and I needed something substantial. Music. A nice atmosphere. We called the C Restaurant and made a last moment reservation. And we were not disappointed. Live music in the background. A complimentary calamari appetizer. Attentive staff. My wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and I had the Corn Ravioli. The food was delicious. Despite being seated outdoors, service was great, I never felt neglected or forgotten. Someone came to check up on me once in a while. Not going to lie, the drinks here are on the pricier side. We stayed at the Clement Hotel and decided to grab some lunch before we enjoyed our day in Monterey. I ordered the "Big Little Lies" cocktail, and a cob chicken salad. This was yummy! The salad had Asian spices and fresh veggies. My husband ordered the oysters and a second round because they were so good. ***They do not have a nice selection of craft beer if you are a beer drinker*** The next day, we enjoyed the food so much we came back for breakfast. We sat down and ordered mimosas and omelets. We later noticed their was a buffet- wish we would have been told this when we were seated and we may have done that option instead to try new foods. The food reminded me more of Denny's. Flavorless and like a mill. I was shocked. The service was lacking as well. We had two wooden salt and pepper shakers on the table. Both had salt. No pepper so during our attempts to add some flavor to the food, we over salted. The staff didn't seem to understand why two salts were an issue so we had to explain and get pepper. We didn't complain at all but it was just so odd and lacking in every way. The view was the only thing that wasn't a disappointment. When we were presented the check at the end, the waitress told me 'thank you for your patience' ‍ 'thank you for coming in and dining with us' is more appropriate but perhaps they have so many issues they are just used to saying this. One of the more enjoyable dinners I've had in a long time. We still sat outside to eat and it was great listening to the waves crashing underneath us and seeing the water. Cocktails were really delicious. Ordered the burger off the bar menu and the scallops which were a dinner special. Was it the best burger I've ever had? No. Did I really enjoy it? Heck yes. I appreciate the custom ground meat and quite possibly the best char on any burger I've ever had. There was a little too much grizzle in the meat and the bun was too thick. But did that lessen my enjoyment of the meal? Heck no. We also ordered the scallops which were a special and really well cooked. It came with incredible mushrooms, gnocchi, carrots, sauces and foams. But what really made the meal besides sitting outside by the ocean was the personalities and warmth of the staff from the Maitre D to our waiter and busboy. Anthony has one of the best personalities of any waiter I've ever had in a restaurant anywhere. Was his service perfect? No. Did we care? No, because we were just so happy. Go eat there if you have the cash. I have no idea how The C compares to other restaurants in Monterey, but I do know that I enjoyed my meal and felt comfortable eating outside with Covid. read more

Amazing location right on the pier located inside the intercontinental resort off cannery row. SERVICE: Been to a variety of high end restaurants, but the service here is nearly impeccable. Host managed to get us in even without reservations, also provided a table with a water view! Servers are on top of everything, making sure you don't even pour your own wine. FOOD: I ordered the filet mignon as I do at most places when it's my first time. Filet was cooked medium rare and it was perfectly pink. The taste was amazing, really a truly a delicious steak. I love the open kitchen lay out, which gives you opportunity to see the chefs at work. The bar hosts plenty of different options from wine to liquor and even some great cocktails. We came here to celebrate our two year anniversary. I had requested a table with a view and when we arrived we were seated next to the window. Amazing view! The bread came with a butter spread made with goat cheese and lemon oil. SO good! Then our entrees came. We ordered the scallops and the black bass. My boyfriend and I were in love! The sauces complimented the seafood perfectly. My scallops were perfectly seared and my boyfriends bass was perfectly cooked as well. Service: our waiter, Aciel, was amazing! We ordered a bottle of wine and our glasses were never less than half full. The view is excellent and it was super convenient since we are staying at the hotel. Everything on the menu looked delicious and the presentation was excellent. The food in actuality was good not great. My steak (that I ordered medium) was actually well done. My eggs the other extreme...not done enough. I asked for over easy (cooked whites, runny center)...it was so under cooked the whites were runny and slimy. We asked for some cheddar cheese and didn't get it. As we walked out someone else got the same thing and it looked to be cooked perfectly. The mimosa was excellent!! The staff was just ok. He started strong, but we ordered coffee and didn't have spoons. I looked for him and then got them from another table. We needed more sugar and napkins. the C restaurant is part of the Intercontinental hotel building, on the popular Cannery Row of Monterey and adjacent to the water. They have an open air yet heated patio with live music. However you'll have a better view of the ocean if sitting inside. I ordered the Arctic char, my favorite fish. It came grilled and cooked to perfection, on top of mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and a few bacon bits. It's a great combination and it tasted just as good as it sounds. Parking can be tough because of the aquarium that is super popular. I recommend parking a few blocks away, there are a couple garages. On Sundays there is free street parking, you can get lucky on the Main Street because it has fewer restaurants. My only recommendation to the restaurant is that it would be really nice if the arctic char were seared or torched on the skin side, just so the sink would be crispy. read more
