Great food, TERRIBLE service... came in today on a Sunday with the family and the lady working in the front with sunglasses had the rudest attitude ever. Doesn't even greet us as we come and tells us to sit anywhere, basically throws the menus at our table (and she was doing this to other guests as well!), and never checked up on us for refills or anything after we got our food. As she was walking by, my dad goes "excuse me can we please have more water" and she straight up ignores him and THEN 5 minutes later she proceeds to bring us water. Anytime we would ask her for something she would make a nasty face, I totally get if she was having a bad day or whatever but she needs to check herself and her attitude... read more

Interior - Clean - Tables and chairs look new - They have 1 TV with the game on Food - Ordered 1 Pound Shrimp, Sausage and Trifecta Sauce Medium - Ordered 1 Pound Crawfish, potatoes, mushroom, corn and Lemon Butter Sauce - Food arrives in a plastic bag sitting on a Metal Tray Cons - Plastic bag that had the cajun food in was small and kept all the un-sauced food at the very top of the bag. - I had to remove some of the seafood out of the bag just so I can dip it in the sauce at the bottom. - The sauce needs work. It looks and tasted just like spicy oil with very little butter and garlic ingredients that makes majority of the flavor. A little bit bigger bag, more sauce and ingredients would definitely make a big difference in flavor and dining experience. Service - this is just me, but I believe they should ask, for example, "Welcome in, for two? Or for three?" if the customers that walk in. Instead of yelling across the restaurant "for here or to go?" - When giving the check, perhaps bring the ticket to the table for the customer to give their card or cash. Just went there after a long day of work with my work buddies and for our first time, it was a pretty sweet spot with great food and customer service. We have been here for 3 nights and should have started with The Cajun Spot instead of the two other spots that we went to, but glad we get to leave NorCal with a good experience and possible opportunity to return and get some more bomb food. I had 1lb of headless shrimp and 1lb of mussels and that was more than enough for a great food/time/taste. Disappointed to find that they were out of both headless shrimp and potato salad. :-( First time in, and the two main things I was hoping for. I settled for the garlic noodles and Cajun wings, both upon recommendation. When I got home and opened up the noodles, that dish smelled really good!! I feel as though the noodles were a bit overcooked, but overall flavor was there. I'd give them another shot. The Cajun wings, on the other hand, I found to be underwhelming. This place was ok. I loved the amount of kick there was with mild heat, but there just wasn't much flavor. It felt like it was missing something and just wasn't sure what it was. Hubs called this place 45 minutes before they closed and was told that he needed to come in to make the order. And it needed to be in before 8:15pm. Fine, not a massive deal. When he walked in the door a guy, who is identified as "Jmu" on our receipt was very rude, clearly annoyed that my husband was ordering. He tried to convince my husband that it was cheaper to buy the shrimp with the heads on because it would be "cheaper", despite it being advertised as the same price either way. When my husband went out to the car and we checked the bags there was no rice, none of the six orders of garlic and none of the six orders of corn. Jmu never added the garlic bread to the receipt and told my husband that not only weren't we getting the bread, we weren't getting the corn either because the kitchen was closed. The sad thing is, the food wasn't bad, but the terrible service means that this first time will be our only time. But if that wasn't enough, when I came on here to leave a review, I found out this place has seven pretty serious health code violations. read more

The food was good, and it was easy to order their food didn't take long for pick up. But I don't understand why their prices are higher online and in store they're different. When I picked up I asked if their prices were the same as in store and online the person who helped me told me yes, they should be. Me not thinking anything I didn't check after I picked up my food I went back inside my car and thought to my self no the prices are different online. I checked and they were, there's a dollar difference and when I asked dude was like no it's the same thing and when I showed him. He's like oh idk I can't do anything about this but I can text the owner. And I haven't heard anything from him. And that was on Wednesday. So I guess what I'm tryna say is if you want to be charged a dollar more per pound of seafood on your order use their online system, If not just call in. So easy to do as well. We didn't order as much as we use to but if I had I could've been charged a lot more. Me and my daughter came here on a whim because we were craving seafood and we were definitely not disappointed. We ordered the number two bucket and swapped out the crawfish for the muscles. We got them in the garlic butter sauce and it was absolutely delicious! We were so excited to eat the food that we forgot to take pictures of it! Next time, I will make sure to take lots of pictures of the food. The service was on point also! Airy Anna is amazing! I definitely recommend this place! The seafood is also very fresh and never frozen. Get here early if you want to make sure to get what you want off the menu. The customer service here is horrible! I placed an order online with a pick up time of 6:20pm, first transaction I received a notification that there was some type of error. Placed the order again seemed to have gone through but never received a confirmation number. Checked my online bank seen a pending transaction from Cajun Spot AND called to see if my order was received as I still didn't receive a confirmation. When I called the lady asked for my name and said yes we received your order. I drove 20mins and walked in at 6:24pm. Waited in line as other customers were being helped. Without any proper greeting the lady asked if I had an online order, I replied with yes and was told to SIT DOWN and wait because they were just going to start making my food. At this point I was already annoyed, but still sat down and waited. The lady then offered a little macaroon ice cream since I had to wait. (That I did say thank you for) 20mins later she brought me a bag that I knew wasn't correct just by the size. I looked inside the bag and said there more coming right? She then grabbed the bag and asked WHAT DO YOU MEAN? I informed her what I ordered. She left to go check other receipts and said she didn't have my order. I explained the above, how I even called and was told my order was received. The person who took the call was the same lady who I had to deal with as it was only her and one cook in the back. NOT once did she apologize, all she kept saying was she doesn't have my order and asked for an order number. I told her several times I don't have an order number because I didn't receive a confirmation. I ended up walking out (gave back the ice cream) but unfortunately had to come back as I remembered there was a pending transaction that reflect in my acct and wanted to make sure I was going to get charged. Once again the lady asked for my order number THAT I DIDN'T HAVE. Told me to calm down, but yet she was the one who showed no kind of customer service. JUST RUDE. She even had nerve to say I looked like someone who has been there before. Instead of assuming I was someone who been there before I recommend asking for the customers name to confirm the order instead of thinking I looked like a usual. She then called her daughter that takes care of the online orders, was told she sees my order however it didn't go through and she will void the transaction. Not sure how I was charged but yet walked out with no food and no apology. We definitely won't be coming back to this place due to the service. read more

In the Bay Area, there are a large number of seafood boil restaurants. This Cajun/Creole craze seems to have popped up in many places throughout the years. If you're in the Central Valley though, this particular restaurant is probably the best in the area. We were seated very promptly by rather attentive servers, and we saw the place was popular as people kept pouring in. The servers are very young, but they're do a good job. The price for the food is fair, and the portions are decent to huge. We had Clams in the Trifecta sauce ( which is far too savory in my opinion, but not bad ), Gumbo Fries, and Garlic Noodles. The food didn't come out very quickly, which is actually strange for these types of restaurants, but they did come out very hot and fresh. The quality of the food is comparable to some of the best known, and the price is generally lower. If you're in the area and are craving Cajun, this is definitely the Spot to go. Hands down best seafood boil in the valley! I live in Tracy and have gone to the same restaurant but for whatever reason this place is 100x better. Staff is super nice and very attentive. I placed an order online and picked it up 15 minutes later. I liked the easy to navigate stress free website. Of course nothing beats getting the table all messy! Eating a seafood boil at home was still an experience I was excited to try though. Unfortunately the food was cold and flavorless. There was so much grease and oil in my order that turned hard. It was very unappetizing. I ordered bucket #1 because it seemed like a good deal. However, there was very little seafood and they were out of one of the ingredients and substitute it for something of lesser value. I'm hoping to come try this place again and maybe order something else. read more

I visited here yesterday on July 30, 2020. I decided to order Gumbo w/ Rice & create my own seafood bucket. My seafood bucket consisted of headless shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage mixed with Garlic Butter. I chose Spicy as the spicy level. I will say everything was magically delicious and on point. I almost couldn't finish because they give you such a good portion. I spent about $39 (that's because I added extra corn and potatoes) but it was so worth it. I will definitely come back. For it being one of the few, if not the only seafood boil place in Manteca, it's pretty good. Presentation, seafood quality and flavors are there. The only thing is that it can be inconsistent sometimes. My husband and I always get medium and the spice level is either not spicy at all, just right or waayyy too spicy lol This also applies to service as well. Employees on the phone that have helped me were really kind and helpful. I've also come in to order takeout and other employees were super rude and condescending. So hopefully you come in on a good day! You either dine in, go in to order takeout or order online to pickup. Keep in mind you still have to call in for exact prices on pounds of crab legs etc to place order online. read more

This was me and my husbands first time here at the Cajun spot in hopes of finding something similar to one of our favorite spots "The boiling crab". Being from San Jose we knew it would be hard to match but we used this as a comparison as they have very similar menus. First impression, was the place was dark but did appear to be clean. There were two other families there besides us, and didn't seem to busy but maybe because it was a Wednesday night in Manteca. The menu was basic and easy to read. They offer "buckets" which include a variety of seafood but seems more geared for bigger sized parties. I decided to order the shrimp(which only comes in 1 pound) servings versus the 1/2 pound option found at similar restaurants. Along with the shrimp I ordered a side of cajun fries, a side of white rice and a Diet Coke. My husband ordered the catfish and garlic fries. The Cajun fries came out first and were mediocre, maybe some more Cajun seasoning could've helped. I asked for a side of ranch, which I was charged extra for without being told. The ranch was watery and tasted like a generic hidden valley brand so wasn't able to enjoy that as a dipping sauce. My shrimp and rice came out next along with my husbands catfish meal. My husband bit into the catfish and it was raw in the middle still. He was grossed out and so he sent it back and requested chicken tenders instead. Ten minutes later the chicken tenders came out, and looked like a 4 piece kids meal from McDonald's. We had better hope for the garlic fries but they were plain fries with garlic thrown on top, they had no flavor unless you scooped garlic from the bottom of the basket on each fry. My husbands meal= not even mediocre. Now onto my shrimp. I ordered the trifecta shrimp with the head still on. Now it was by no means boiling crab but it has potential which was the one bright spot of this place. The shrimp seemed a bit over cooked and it was very oily but those are things that could vary by preference. The rice was fine but the Diet Coke has no carbonation. Finally the bill came out, we saw we were charged .75 for ranch and up charged a $1.00 for garlic fries. The extra $1.75 was not the issue but the fact the waitress did not tell us about the extra charge was the problem we had. We could've missed it on the menu but a friendly reminder would've been nice when ordering. They didn't charge us for the non carbonated soda, and gave us a 5% discount on the bill(I'm guessing for the raw catfish) that came out to a $1 and some change. When paying the bill I let the waitress know about the inconvenience of not knowing about the upcharge, at which she replied it's "only a dollar", and pointed out the fact she gave us 5% off. To conclude, boiling crab is still king and we will definitely rather drive the hour to sac or San Jose to have quality food then come here again. If you have a seafood craving the shrimp may suffice, but wouldn't try anything else on the menu. read more
