My husband and I are so happy to find this gem near home. We usually would have to drive to Sacramento for our seafood boil fix. We ordered Cajun fries to start the meal, which were just average. Its average taste made me nervous about the main course but we were pleasantly happy with the seafood. We ordered Dungeness crabs, clams, mussels, corn, and sausages in spicy trifecta sauce. If I were alone, I would totally order the XXX sauce but the spicy one was enough to make my husband sweaty. The sauce was better than some of the places that we frequented in Sacramento. I love this place. Great portions for a great price. And such good flavor! I went in on a very hot 102 degree weather day. The place inside felt great a/c on and very clean! I was then greeted by a young lady by the name of Lee I think she is the owner or manager. She took my order and as I was waiting she offered me a cup of iced water without me having to ask. She was very nice. She came back to me asking me how many pairs of gloves I needed lemons, bibs and what sauce I wanted for my fries. Usually I have to ask places after I get my order but she made sure to ask me first. Lastly as I got my order and was heading out she insisted that she refill my water before I leave, I told her it was okay I live close by and she said "no it's okay it's hot out there please let me give you some more water". I don't enjoy giving unfortunate reviews. However, I had high expectations going into this and it fell surprisingly short. The restaurant was fairly clean and had a seafood themed decor throughout. The atmosphere is casual and laid back. We started off with Gumbo Fries and Vietnamese flavored wings. Gumbo Fries had chopped up shrimps, sliced sausages and various veggies. It was decent but nothing special. Their version of Vietnamese flavored wings were such a disappointment to say the least! The wings had almost a nonexistent sauce on it and what did get a thin sliver of coating was sweet. It didn't have a nice balance of sweet, salty, tangy, and spicy that you would normally expect. It was however, juicy and crispy....though not enough to redeem it. The Crab Boil was mediocre in taste and presentation. Their popular Trifecta sauce was under seasoned and lacked complexity. It was almost one noted in flavor as it predominantly tasted of butter. The service was just about the only thing positive about this place. Our server was friendly and attentive. The kicker....they forgot to give us corn and potatoes which came standard in the "#3 bucket" we had ordered. At the time, we didn't realize it till we had already left. We called to see what they can do to rectify the error. All they said was to come back to get the corn and potatoes. Living approx. 30 minutes away and having to go back just for corn and potatoes does not justify the issue. I expected either a discount or comp for our next visit. None was offered. Sadly, we will not be returning or recommending this particular spot. There are far better Crab Boil restaurants around us. read more

Don't do it. Ordered online bc no Phone orders. I wanted to give this place a chance bc I didn't feel like driving to San Jose or Union City for some shrimp. I should've drove. Ordered 1 Lb of shrimp or "bucket" head on, Cajun style, added 6 pieces of sausage ( which is literally just 3 inches of a sausage cut into 6 slices) anyway, added corn. You could tell it's frozen corn, no flavor taste like water. And ordered it mild with a side of Cajun fries. Did pick up. Cajun fries were good. Shrimp came in a thick plastic bag, that did prevent leaking and secured all the juices. In the 15 min it took me get home shrimp over cooked. They were so hard. The sauce had no flavor it needed salt, Cajun seasoning idk it was so sad. It was very oily, and no Cajun flavor, just over cooked shrimp and oil sauce. The valley is not the place to eat this kind of food, (I hope one day I'll be proven wrong) drive out to the bay or Sac. The drive and the money spent will be worth it. Just don't do it. You'll be disappointed, mad you spent so much, and hungry. The two stars go out to the cashiers bc they are very friendly over the phone and in person, And it's not their fault. read more

My friend and I have been wanting to try out this place and yesterday we were able to make it happen. I love this Cajun place and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for some good crawfish or seafood. The reason I am am giving this place a 4/5 stars due to overall experience from food to customer service. Alone I would give the food a 5/5. Their trifecta sauce at a spicy level is on point! It's actually one day the best sauces I have ever had! When I first tasted the sauce (as in a lick) it left me wanting more. For my first time I chose the combo bucket #1 which comes with 1/2 lb shrimp, 1/2 lb of crawfish, 1/2 of clams, corn and potato for a very decent price of 22 dollars!! The over all service I would give a 3.5/4 because we were rushed by the server. I had drove all the way from Oakland in 2 hours of traffic to meet up with my former coworkers. We had a reservation at 730 and made it there on time the kitchen closes at 830 and the restaurant at 9 so that didn't give us much time to really catch up and enjoy our food at the same time. I wasn't even finished with eating my food and the server brought the check to our tables around 840pm. So that was the only downside of this area. The only thing I wished was that they stayed open later at least until 10pm. But I will be returning whenever I have the chance to come back to San Joaquin county! I'll def be a regular! read more

We ordered bucket #1 and more shrimp and crawfish in he trifecta flavor with medium spice. We weren't sure what was considered spicy here, but the waitress that helped us told us that the medium spice is a great option, but if we wanted it to be more spicy we could pay for the sauce to add in. We also ordered garlic noodles, corn, Cajun fries, and mozzarella sticks. The food was great and delicious!! Crawfish were huge and the flavor was amazing with the perfect amount of spice. The garlic noodles were soooooo good I loved it! Cajun fries were good too, not sure if you could ever go wrong with fries! I was leery about trying the food at Cajun Spot. What gave me the gumption is to find out for myself as suppose to just believe the reviews I read here on Yelp. I ordered a couple of buckets: #1 and #3 with Trifecta sauce mild and hot and a couple of gumbo and rice to go. The price was to be expected- It's SEAFOOD. The flavor and the spice did not disappoint, surprisingly it's flavorful! One suggestion to the cook is to crack the crabs to really absorb the sauce. Unfortunately, the corns were dehydrated and the potatoes were undercooked. The mushrooms just doesn't seem to belong in this mix. Maybe, get rid of them and replaced with sausages to justify the price of the buckets. The shrimps were dry because they were overcooked. Now, visually the gumbo was a smothered seafood with a couple of shrimps, a couple of crab limbs a few pieces of okra and green bell peppers. It was not appealing to look at. The taste is not bad, but I'm used to a gumbo with a thick rue believe me there's a big difference. The rice in the gumbo was undercooked and the price of $9 doesn't justify the whole experience. With this review, I hope that CAJUN SPOT read this and find it helpful. I hate to see them just dwindle down and go out of business because we need this kind of restaurant in the Valley. I can't wait to go back and check them out again and see the vast improvements they need to work on in the quality and the presentation of food in this Year 2020. read more
