Unexpected kinds of food but I loved my crepe. It was just a perfect amount. The ambiance is very cool. More 'kitschy witchy' than I expected with the art being very obvious witchy, but I like the small projection mapping surprises. Keep an eye on the bookcase on top of the bar for a cat every so often. The only thing is, it *does* feel noisy with the amount of people they have. I called beforehand and a nice woman answered the phone and was super helpful. Upon arriving, we were seated promptly and I believe the woman who answered the phone was also the phone who was serving us the whole time. This was my second time visiting! I came with a group of friends last year but didn't get a chance to leave a review. Recently, I stopped by with a friend for drinks, and we had a great time. Our server was super friendly and walked us through the menu, which I really appreciated. I ordered the Hive Mind and my friend got a different cocktail (can't remember the name), but both were delicious! This place is so fun to spend time at! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and witchy. There are so many things to look at because of their attention to detail and the projections. We kept on turing around to look at the bar because there were different projections every so often that made the area look totally new. We also got to sit at what I assume is the best table in the house: the fireplace table. The seating was so cozy and functional enough to make our eating experience enjoyable. They also had a tablet mounted to do photo booth pictures and that was fun for dinner with friends. The food was also amazing. Our waiter had great suggestions when we were wavering between entrees. Most entrees ranged from $15--20 so I wasn't expecting anything gourmet. However, I tried the seasonal pumpkin lasagna and it was one of tastiest and most comforting foods I've ever had. Our table also tried the pretzel bites with pumpkin spice cheese dip. It sounds like an odd combination, but TRUST ME it totally works! I had a bite of the croque monsieur sliders and those were also great. The mustard sauce was not overpowering as someone who isn't a big fan of mustard. Finally, I've got to talk about the drinks. I had only sampled cocktails here previously (the Knotty Kid is great if you like a sweet drink). I went to the Cauldron on a Sunday and realized that all bottles of wine were 50% off. Our table decided to share 2 bottles of wine, the Cauldron branded Pinot and Merlot. Both of them were really enjoyable and felt like a steal for $16 a piece. We were blown away when we got the receipt and realized that our total was only $111! For 1 appetizer, 4 entrees, and 2 full bottles of wine we only paid $111. What a FUN bar/lounge! The Cauldron is a gothic themed speakeasy, but it should be known that it's gothic THEMED in a sort of Disneyesque way. I visited The Cauldron with a friend on a Saturday evening around 6pm. The wait around that time was about 20 minutes. The friendly host, upon checking you in, directs you to grab a drink and have a seat outside on the heated patio, which includes fire pits. As I gravitate to bourbon based drinks, I chose (and stuck with) the "Inside Job" - out of the two I had, the first was perfectly balanced (the second was a little heavy on the other liqueur)...DEFINITELY will be my go to drink upon returning. I'd say it's their take on an Old Fashioned. My friend tried the Roses BTS, The Grey Witch, two Gin based drinks that were delicious. She also ordered the Bourbon and Brimstone. The Grey Witch was the best, in my opinion! The menu includes small bites/appetizers, and no full sized entrees that I could see (which was fine!). We ordered the Escargot, Chicken Cordon Bleu sliders, Croque Monsieur Sliders, and a Cheese Board. By far, the star of the show was the Chicken Cordon Bleu sliders (we ordered another round of those!). The Croque Monsier came in 2nd for us, also very tasty. The cheese board offered a nice variety of cheeses, but was a bit small for the price. The escargot was a HARD pass for me. The escargot were a good size, and the serving itself was generous. However, the quality of the escargot wasn't great, and the dish was not hot...made this a bust (I was sad about that). For dessert, we shared an order of the Bananas Foster Crepe. This was served a la mode, but similar to the experience with the escargot, it was a bit of a let down because the crepe/topping was not hot. There was ample seating, and the side room seemed to lend itself to larger groups- this would definitely be a fun place to celebrate with friends for a birthday, pre-game, or night cap. The walls are entertaining, including intermittent animations to keep you entertained as you enjoy the company of whomever you're with. Great attention to the fun thematic elements, great drinks, good food overall, and value was reasonable for the cost of the items across the board. One thing about the OC, you will not have a lack of themed bars and The Cauldron is a great addition to the area. While hanging out at Twisted Tiki, the night was still young and we were looking for another place to wet our whistles and rediscovered the Cauldron. Pro tip: GET ON THAT WAITLIST EARLY. This night the wait was about an hour so, we timed our drinks at the first location perfectly so we wouldn't have to wait for a table here. The decor is awesome! Very goth Harry-potter esque vibe. With a place called The Cauldron, what more could you expect?! 15 year old me would have gone crazy over the vibes in here. Our server was great as well. Super kind and accommodating gentleman. I opted for The Knotty kid and The Wizards cup. Both great! The Knotty kid is definitely the most IG worthy of the two. Definitely get there before the super busy times, I'm talking about Friday and weekend nights. My friend and I got here early 5 PM and there was a slight wait to get in, around 30 minutes, which isn't too bad, but it definitely ramped up quickly throughout the evening and it didn't help that it was raining outside and people wanted to get into the walk up bar ordering area. There is a 90-minute wait limit for the tables, so keep that in mind too and I guess that also applies to bar seating as well since we overheard a different guest become disgruntled by this and staff recommending coming right when they open during a weekday. Other than how busy it is the atmosphere of this place is great. Perfect if you ever want the spooky vibes throughout the year. I recommend following or checking out their Instagram if you want to see what the current seasonal limited dishes are and if there are any changes to their schedules or any events coming up. We had no idea there was a 10% discount rate for wearing a costume until we got there and saw it. There is spooky décor as far as the eye can see here from their menu, the bar which has projections of hellfire and other moving bits and pieces, the hanging bats and bones, their fireplace with a "haunted" mirror on top, and so much more. One of the portraits is also a photobooth as well, so keep your eyes peeled! Another thing I would like to note is that this is a place to come and hang out with or without the spirits and maybe snack on something. Shareable finger foods at best, so make sure to get your main meal elsewhere. My friend and I got the: 1) Frites: -We asked for this with a side of ranch but if you want fancier sauces, it's $1 more. -They're thick cut fries with garlic parmesan bits on top. Comes out nice and crispy with a strong garlic taste. -Can never go wrong with a good order of fries. FRITES 2) Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders: -Comes with 2 sliders and a couple of those cute mini pickles which I have never seen elsewhere. -They're 2 sliders with panko breaded fried chicken, ham, gruyere cheese, and mustard mornay sauce. -I'll be honest, the mustard sauce wasn't that flavorful so I had to put some of the ranch onto this slider, but I guess that's where the mini pickles came in (deliciously crunchy and not too sour). -The chicken was crispy enough on the outside and not dry on the inside. -Decent dish, though I think I'd try something else in the future. 3) Bread Pudding: -They do a seasonal rotation of their bread pudding and we got their candy Trick R Treat one which has peanut butter cups (I believe) and mini M&M's. Wish there was just a slight variety of depth to this bread pudding since it just tasted like chocolate bread after a few bites, but I can easily see it amping up a couple levels with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or some cookie butter. Maybe a different seasonal bread pudding would have hit home for me. And for my drink, I go the Dead and Berried which is a mocktail drink made of fresh blackberries, mint, lime, a simple syrup and soda water. It is a bit tart, so make sure you mix it throughout and slowly sip on it while eating the rest of your food. It is visually appealing and so was my friend's mocktail, The Upside Down, which she enjoyed. Our waters came out first in a timely manner and the rest of our meal came trickling in after, but I guess due to how busy it was, it took awhile for us to flag down a worker to get napkins and utensils, but no biggie. As we were getting ready to leave we overheard a waiter stating that the parties were up to 70-80 people (?!) which is mind boggling to me, but with the fact that it was raining, it was a Saturday, and it was the weekend right after Halloween, I can envision it. Keep in mind when you go and have a main meal planned later and you're 100% there for the atmosphere if anything! read more

I came here on a Sunday night with two other friends as a pre-Halloween celebration dinner - the atmosphere was very fun and mildly spooky. We were unfortunately seated right next to the door so I couldn't see too much of the place. Our servers were very personable and helped make recommendations/answer any questions we had about the menu. The steak bites were pretty oily but flavorful, and I enjoyed the dead and berried cocktail (huge fan of fruit flavors. I would say that I didn't particularly enjoy the bacon jam too much - it was fairly sweet, which I felt was weird with fries. I also didn't like the chocolate crepe as much as I thought I would - the ratio of nuts to crepe was really high, which made me lose focus of the chocolate flavor. My friends reportedly enjoyed the stew, French onion soup, and olives. Perfect halloween/spooky themed bar/restaurant. My friends and I joined the waitlist via yelp at 6pm. We did get a text that the wait time would take longer. We planned it perfectly as we were driving and making our way to the restaurant from los angeles. It was about 2 1/2 hours from joining the waitlist. When we arrived we just waited about 15 minutes or less. Love how workers dressed up and got into the halloween spirit. My friends and I dressed up as pastel witches. We heard about this place from a friend and didn't realize there were theme nights. The mocktails were okay. I got the cats claw. 1 friend got the upside down and 2 got dead and berried. The best one was the upside-down. The creme Brule was delicious and I got mine with vvanilla ice cream. I would recommend the dessert here. Our waiter started strong. He was attentive and kind but then when we were close to finishing our food, dessert, and still sipping on our mocktails he seemed to want to rush us to go. One of my friends asked if it was the 90 minute mark and he said no and another friend asked if we could just hangout for a moment. He seemed annoyed and then stopped checking up on us. One friend had to get his attention for the check and asked if we could get them separately but he walked away. He brought 1 check. She tried to also ask him something else and he just walked away. Very rude. Maybe he was mad we wanted to hangout for like 10 more minutes or maybe because we didn't order expensive drinks. Honest Review! I'm picky when it comes to a chill and nice bar to hang out at. Yet The Cauldron marks off all of the boxes that I look for! The staff is always sooo nice and friendly. Drinks are delicious. The vibes are IMMACULATE! We stopped in right before Halloween and the place was busy yet super cute. People were dressed up and the staff was super nice. We got sat at a table in their "green room" and our server recommended some drinks to us which were all soooo delicious! We ended up getting some food as well to try. The pretzel and cheese was super good, we devoured them. The garlic fries were good but honestly similar to Red Robin's. For our anniversary we decided it'd be cute to stop back in for a late night drink. We weren't let down!! We got the Roses BTS and the Witches Brew. They were DELICIOUS! I called to see if they had a Taurus Zodiac card which they had been out of, she found a card, and set one aside for me until I arrived. The whole aesthetic is a spooky dream, and the Tipsy Tea Time looked super cute, until I tasted it. Now, the tea part of Tipsy Tea Time... imagine if a cocktail, sweet tea, and a sugar packet had a chaotic love triangle, and nobody won. It was sweet. Very sweet. Like, "I need to check my blood sugar now" sweet. Not much balance. The "sweets and sandwiches" platter? More like "two bites and a prayer." Half a pita with hummus, half a piece of bread with pâté (questionable), two teeny lemon blueberry bars, and croissants so small I thought they were croissant samples. Each one had a single sad slice of deli meat and a leaf of lettuce. Not exactly the enchanted feast I had envisioned. Honestly, it wasn't my cup of tea (pun fully intended). Fries tasted like they came from the frozen section of a medieval dungeon. Crispy? Barely. Hot? Lukewarm at best.
