I love this place! Always a hit! Natalie was great! Got the wicked frittes, filet mignon bites, and the inside job as a drink. Absolutely perfect. Great service, awesome ambiance. A must if you're in the area.

Grey witch (French 75) is decent. Margarita is very strong. The service is great. The gothic decoration is really cool.

I've been seeing so many videos online of The Cauldron and had to finally visit! I must admit, I was a bit disappointed in the atmosphere. The location is marketed as dark and witchy, but there was a lot of light in the space which did not make it feel as spooky as the internet makes it out to be. The server was nice and attentive. She made sure we knew it was happy hour, which has a great deal! The escargot was good, especially with the garlic butter. I felt that the meat in the French dip could've been better quality. Though I did not have a drink, those with me said they enjoyed the beverages!

Very nice bar with a cute main dining room and a 2nd backroom. It's pretty loud inside so definitely not a quiet place to have deep conversations. There's also a small outdoor area with heat lamps. Decent amount of parking. Definitely wouldn't recommend coming on a weekend as a wedding party came by and drank all the champagne and prosecco. Mocktails and french fries were tasty though. Our server Emilee was super nice and attentive though. The hostess was also very nice and the bathrooms were clean. Definitely get on the wait-list early or make reservations. It can be over an hour wait otherwise for walk-ins.

It was a scrolling moment right before we decided where to celebrate our anniversary. Suddenly "The Cauldron" popped up, and it seemed interesting with its overview! Made a call and they said it was walk in! I was super excited and told one of the staff giddily, "This is our first time!" She greeted us with a smile and kind words. I was already happy with the service . As we sat down, our server tended to us like we've known her from ages ago, but it was definitely are first time there ! That's why we would go back because of her ! I like the eeriness feel of the place and their theme! The food portion is very small however ...very delicious !

Friendly staff and great experience inside. Love going here when I'm around the area to grab a few delicious cocktails. The menu is seasonal which is awesome and since it's almost Halloween time the staff dresses up and they decorate the inside. The zodiac drinks are definitely worth the try. 10/10

Perfect spot for a date or girls night! Who knew this hidden gem was so close to Knotts Berry Farm! The ambiance is intimate and low lighting with no over loud music preventing you from chatting. All drinks here were great! I appreciated their fun take on a shot menu. If you're celebrating a birthday you get a birthday shot of your choice! Food and service also did not disappoint. Looking forward to coming back!

Stopped by last night for our fourth or fifth visit, and it just keeps getting better. My husband and I first came here for a dinner date back in 2019, and we've returned several times over the years. The last time I was here with my cousin, they were just starting to build the new section. I peeked in before we left and loved the green witch aesthetic. This visit, we kept it simple as we arrived close to closing time. Service is always excellent. We shared a charcuterie board, and drinks we started with the Wizard's Cup and Roses by the Stairs, then I went with the Blueberry Basil Bruja for my second round. All were delicious.

Fun libations, spooky vibes, and all around great hangout spot, the Cauldron has elevated cocktails that are to die for. Service was highly attentive and made great recommendations, as it was our first time here. A great place to sit and talk with friends, lounge around, and get fun/novel "elixirs" We love a good themed place of drink, and we can't wait to come back :)

This is the best bar I've been to so far in terms of service. Every staff member was friendly and welcoming, always with a smile. We visited around 10:30 PM on a Wednesday night to grab some drinks and chat. The indoor atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing--perfect for hanging out and catching up with friends. There's also a great variety of drinks to choose from. I'd definitely come back again if I get the chance!

Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: 4/5 Came by on a Tuesday evening with a reservation. Emily was our server, and she was amazing! She made great recommendations, was incredibly friendly, and even helped the bar make my favorite Cauldron tiki drink (which is currently out of season). It's always a fun time, and I'll definitely return!

The Cauldron Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - The Cauldron

Are children allowed here for dining?

I believe during the day yes, up until a certain time. It then is strictly 21+

Hi, ? I just heard you guys have a hidden door for the speak easy bar ..how do we get in?

They have a hidden door within their bookshelf next to their bar yet it's sadly not a speakeasy. It's a private room for events and parties. It only contains a big table for 10+ people. I'd talk to the manager to see if you can rent it out so you…

Are there gluten free options for eats?

    Yes.

Do you need to join the waitlist or create a reservation if you just want to grab a drink from the bar?

We have walk-up bar service available daily. The bar top is open seating but often fills up during busy service. The daily waitlist and reservations are for full table service; all tables are host-seated. Cheers!

What's the difference between the Dining Room and Conservatory reservations?

Both are awesome seating. The Conservatory is a beautiful new addition. Very tranquil and relaxing. Main dining room is the original and very cool, close to the bar. Can't go wrong with either for dining or drink's.

Do you have a private space for 20 people?

Hi there! We do not have a private space for 20 guests but we may be able to accommodate group seating reservations in our regular dining area when available. Please reach out to us directly to ask about seating options, cheers!

    Can I make a reservation?

No reservations but make sure to sign up on the Yelp wait-list. They have a walk up bar and some seating outside as well this year. It helps pass the time while you wait for your seat (super busy around this time of year)

Hi! I was wondering if you have any gluten free/celiac friendly food options?

Hi there, yes! We do have a few Gluten-free / safe items, please contact us directly (social media, direct message, or email) for a GF menu breakdown. Thanks for checking us out, cheers!

Hi I was just wondering if your French Onion soup is vegetarian?

Hi there! Sorry, no, our French onion soup is not vegetarian as we use a traditional beef stock in the broth. Thanks for checking us out, cheers!

This would be perfect for a gift, can i order gift card or certificate ? Online?

You can do a gift certificate, I believe it's not online, I went in to Cauldron, they did it for me right away, the amount starts at $50, I would call to make sure before going in or trying online

Are there any gluten free food options?

Hi friends! We have a few menu items that are gluten-free/safe, and a number of our menu items can be adjusted by omitting bread or sauces. Let your server know about any dietary restrictions before ordering. Please contact us directly on social…

Can I bring my daughter here for her birthday she turns 14?

Hi there, we do allow guests of all ages to dine with us however we are strictly 21+ only w/ valid ID at 10pm each night. Heads up, we will not seat any party with underage guests if there is not enough time for full service; we often have longer…

How accurate are the wait times from Yelp usually?

I believe If you arrive early enough you shouldn't have any trouble getting a table, after around 4:30 or so I suggest having a reservation.

Is this place Vegan friendly? If yes, what can they do for vegans in terms of food?

I believe it is if you go to website or on this site it says Vegan friendly. Wonderful food, ambiance is wonderful.

For Valentine's Day will you have a pre fixe menu per person?

Hi there! We will have a few special menu items but no pre-fixe menu is planned. Watch our social media stories and posts for all info regarding upcoming specials and service changes. Thanks for checking us out!

I am planning to go there on Sunday for an early dinner to Celebrate a birthday. Is it kid friendly? Also I did see that it's possible to reserve a room. I don't have social media so I wasn't able to contact that way. Is that still an option?

Hi there! So we do allow kids before 10pm, but we aren’t specifically kid-friendly (no kids menu, no high chairs, no games, no TVs, etc) as we are a bar/restaurant/gastropub type establishment. We do have a single intimate private room that is…

How do I join the waitlist?

Hi there! The Yelp waitlist is just that, a daily running waitlist for current seating. You can get on the Yelp waitlist during business hours only, and it cuts off for new additions at 10pm on Wed/Thurs/Sundays and 10:30pm on Fri/Saturdays. When…

Do you offer reservations for a nice table or seating for 8 people together?

Hi there, we do offer a single intimate private dining room that is available to rent (rental fee + food/drink spend minimums apply). Please direct message for more information on private room reservations.…

This is our first time here are there reservations required,?

Hi there! So we don’t take reservations as we seat guests with Yelp Waitlist and on a walk-in basis.…

    Is there a dress code?

Hi there! We are a casual bar/restaurant w/ no specific dress code. Thanks for checking us out!

We were escorted inside and our hostess immediately started introducing us to the lore of the place: a capsized ship with the space decorated using pieces recovered from the wreckage. The room is VERY dimly lit, and we actually stood near the entrance for a moment while our eyes adjusted, but honestly that just added to the atmosphere. On the way to our reservation in the Captain's Quarters, our hostess gave us a little tour of the main room and even pointed out the bathrooms for later. Once we sat down, we met our bartender, Drew, who was fantastic. He walked us through the different menus, explained the food and cocktails, and really added to the experience throughout the night. I'm normally a whiskey drinker, so I started with the Southeast Spice Trade while my girlfriend ordered the Pineapple Whipped Colada. Both were delicious, but half the fun was watching Drew make them. You could really see the amount of care that went into the craft and presentation of every drink. For food, we ordered the chicken katsu and ahi poke nachos. I was especially excited when the nachos arrived and I realized they were made with wonton chips. I'm a sucker for wonton chips, so those were an immediate win. We obviously couldn't stop at one round of drinks, so next came the Tarobi Colada and Zombie King. Drew told us a little about the history of the Zombie King and gave us a lesson on rum, so I had to try it, plus it came in one of the coolest mugs I've ever seen. The Zombie King was easily my favorite drink of the night. The flavor was fantastic from beginning to end and dangerously smooth. I didn't even realize how much it had hit me until I stood up. Even leaving was part of the experience. We finally checked out the bathroom and the door has what feels like TEN different locks on it. It genuinely felt like I was locking myself inside the bathroom of an old pirate ship. Between the storytelling, incredible atmosphere, Captain's Quarters, food, cocktails, and especially the service from Drew, this was such a memorable night. Strong Water completely commits to its theme without sacrificing the quality of the drinks. Absolutely an experience worth having, and we can't wait to come back.

We have returned to Strong Water several times in recent months, so it's time for an update. We…read morefirst returned in early June since they introduced some new cocktails and food to the menu. The other visits were just because this is by far our number one place. Recently added cocktails: Buzzin' Jungle Bird (Jamaican gold rum, coffee infused campari, dark rum, pineapple, lime, hemp orgeat, cane, Angostura bitters). This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!

I think this is on everyone's speakeasy list!…read more Make sure you make a reservation It is very packed. They offer bar seating and booth / table Follow the wall from Randy's donuts and Look for a wall of Japanese sake/beer barrels and head towards the restaurant - the rolling boil. There will be a check in host and stand there and wait (it will be located up against the wall with a big secret door right next to the hostess station) It's very New York inside. When I first came in Spring with the amazing, Karen, the menu and everything was great Now, I took my friend who was in town from Nashville and it was a brand new theme. It's the great Gatsby. Even our waitress, Jasmine was dressed for the occasion. I would say this place is known for Absinthe. They have cocktails featuring it or you can get one of the huge apparatus (huge and glowing green) which, if you are into it? I highly recommend. Just one of the huge apparatus makes one regular drink. Or, what Karen and I did, was split it and make it into a shot for the both of us. The waitress comes out and shows you how it works and goes over everything. Karen, who I came with, was a pro and knew her way around it. She showed me the ropes lol. Honestly, if you are here? When in Rome. Go all out and try it, since it's where they shine here. They took off a few menu items and added some themed drinks. ( a couple new champagne themed drinks) They have big entree items but I suggest small bites and sharing and mostly coming for the drinks. There's no bathroom inside, so you do have to leave the bar and go to the closest one (over behind Randy's donuts) and then enter the speakeasy again Both times coming here I've never had an issue. It's a small, packed place. And yet they still have the cocktails flowing and the food coming out in a good time. So the food and drinks are good Atmosphere is lovely. Service is good. Especially for it usually being very busy in here This place is located inside the Anaheim packing district. So I suggest hitting up a couple other spots before or afterwards for some more food or drinks P.S. it is very dark In here. They never cared if we used our light to look at the menu. However, they do not want flash photography They also do not strictly enforce a dress code (my friend from Nashville asked) however, they suggest dressing business casual and not too underdressed

I really liked the clarified strawberry drink, similar to strawberry and cream. I ordered a drink after that unfortunately forgot the name (photo attached with a tall glass) but there was no special cocktail craft taste to it. Just hard liquor taste and undrinkable :( the bartender kindly offered another drink. Unfortunately none of the food was the least bit good. Steak and fries was ordered medium rare and cooked to medium well with what seemed like no seasoning was on there at all. Crab cake was just ok and the slaw beneath it was drenched in a vinaigrette that was just sour and unpleasant. And the Mac and cheese, as we were very hopeful and looking forward to, was probably the blandest Mac and cheese we ever had. We asked the lady bartender for salt and she handed us, no exaggeration (and you guys will probably think I am) a salt shaker with 10 grains of salt in it and said "looks like there's a lil something you could still get out of there" My jaw dropped. But yeah. The shredded meat on top of the Mac and cheese was cooked beyond the point of edible. That one was unfortunately sent back bc we just couldn't eat it. We were bummed over all mostly about the food.

Qua is one of Kei Concepts' latest innovations, serving contemporary Chinese cuisine, and I was so excited to finally experience it! The spacious interior is modern and chic while still paying homage to its traditional roots. The service was on-point from start to finish. And our private dining room? Intimate, elegant, and absolutely gorgeous. I was obsessed with the theme and aesthetics! But what I was really excited about was the food--and boy, did it NOT disappoint! My friend hand-picked the menu so every guest could get a taste of everything Qua had to offer..and trust me, no one was leaving hungry! We started with General Tso's chicken wings, salt and pepper calamari, and crispy fried tofu. Then came the crispy shrimp red rice roll, which was unlike anything I'd had before--so unique and packed with flavor. Next up: XO fried rice with char siu, dan dan noodles, and steamed cod with black bean sauce. Every dish just kept getting better! And just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, dessert arrived. Egg tarts, strawberry shaved snow, and mango sago pudding brought the night to the sweetest ending. Good food, beautiful ambiance, and celebrating people I love--what an unforgettable night! A total RxFoodie recommend!!!

We started off by getting Fantuans Saturday for breakfast. We got the vegetarian and the taiwanese…read moresausage combo with milk tea. We ordered to go and the fantuans were ready and they made the milk tea fresh. The fantuans are huge and look cool with the purple rice, however we both agreed that getting them in Taiwan with regular white rice is better as the purple rice clumps and falls apart. Part of the fun with fantuans is re-molding it as you go and you couldn't really do that very well with these. The flavors inside were pretty good and definitely reminded me of Taiwan, but everything was big pieces- from the pickled veggies to even the large strips of tofu. This made eating it difficult. Chopping things up would have made for a better experience. We then had afternoon tea on Sunday. They gave us 2 tea pots for 4 people and refilled them once. We are used to each person getting to choose their own tea. Unfortunately, this made for a disappointing tea experience, however the food was really really good. It should be called afternoon tea treats with some tea. The server was also very nice, and was able to accommodate (with the help of theor mamager) a last minute vegetarian swap out for one of us - we didn't remember having the option for this, or a place to put a note during the reservation, so something to look out for next time.

Def try their muscat makgeolli too, my fav rice wine. The pancake was crispy and good for sharing. The pork belly was flavorful with a good amount of roasted garlic and kimchi to pair. LOVE their complimentary barley raisen tree tea! SERVICE Service was excellent. We came as a large group on a Friday night and gave them a heads up. When our party arrived, they put together a bunch of tables to accommodate everyone inside. Outdoor seating also had shade which was nice as an alternative. Would recommend coming here for a good time with drinks and yummy Korean food esp with larger groups!

Also, the speakers are placed directly next to some of the tables, and the music is extremely loud if you are seated near them. I don't understand why the speakers are positioned so close to the customers. They should be placed farther away from the dining tables. The music is so loud that it feels more like a nightclub than a restaurant. Customers come here to enjoy their food and have conversations with friends and family, not to dance. The music should be kept at a reasonable volume so everyone can enjoy their meal and have a pleasant conversation.

From the sign as you enter, through the teeth, to the throaty-red textured walls, The Belly of the Beast encases guests in the whimsical journey down the whale's gullet. Who knew getting "swallowed" would be such fun? Keeping with the throaty theme, the space inside holds a few tables. It's an intimate space with ambient lighting and cheery Hawaiian/beach music. Puppets hang here and there, as well as other thematic, decorative details. My friend and I shared a few mouthwatering apps and imbibed a few delicious concoctions. Our wonderful bartender frim "outside" even came in with us, which made our experience even more personalized. We especially appreciated the complimentary shots! Our food was delicious and plentiful for apps: spam musubi, edamame, sliders, and shishito peppers. Now this is a big deal: my friend has celiac disease. She needs to be very cautious when ordering food. She self-advocates but much relies on the knowledge of servers. Our wonderful bartender, now our server, was very diligent and knowledgeable, and double checked ingredients with the chefs. Accommodations were made. Good times rolled on! Extra heaps of thanks on that! We fully enjoyed every minute of our (generous+) 90 minute time slot here. The service was amazing, the food delicious, and the cocktails made with magic. It was worth the drive, and one I'll gladly make again at next opportunity.

The Belly of the Beast - Pinocchio Speakeasy at Stowaway Tiki Bar, Tustin…read more The Belly of the Beast is a Pinocchio-themed speakeasy tucked inside Stowaway Tiki Bar in Tustin, and it's definitely a fun experience. You actually enter through the mouth of a whale, which immediately sets the tone. The decor and theming are really well done, with plenty of unique details that make the space feel immersive. The atmosphere is more intimate and private compared to the main tiki bar, which makes it a nice change of pace. The food menu is limited, but what we tried was good. The drinks were definitely the highlight. I had the Farewell Jimmy, Smoke the Monster Out, and Geppetto's Last Words--all three were great. Smooth, tropical, flavorful, and definitely potent. Service was okay, but nothing particularly stood out. Overall, The Belly of the Beast is a cool place to check out if you enjoy themed bars and unique experiences. For me, it's probably more of a one-time experience rather than somewhere I'd regularly return to. Still, the creativity, decor, and cocktails make it worth experiencing at least once.

It is like a k-bar type atmosphere. Maybe my timing was bad. The service is not great. I suppose the food is decent enough. Try it out for yourself if you still want.
