    Lobster BLT

Well isn't this place just the cutest. The garden in the front of the restaurant is so pretty. The dining rooms inside are really nice as well. I'd highly recommended The Chanticleer for any meal of the day, in any of their many dining areas. But, if you can snag an outdoor reservation on a nice day, you should do so. They do have some heated outdoor seating areas for cooler days. As far as the food goes, we each had to order the Lobster BLT and we split the Bluefish Pate. My goodness, please order these. They're amazing.

Such delicious food! Prices are a little higher than what I'd like to pay, but that seems standard! Portions were good. I had the lobster pasta, oysters, fries and a martini. All were excellent! Ambiance is so cute! Loved sitting on the patio. Service is attentive.

Make reservations ahead of time. I'm told that it is hard to get into this restaurant. The garden is beautiful when you walk in. You have the option of dining in the garden area. It is a U shape and is undercover. We weren't sure if it would be covered so we chose the formal dining area that over looks the backyard/ garden. We had Paula as our waitress and her assistant Darwin. They both were efficient and nice. Everything was fresh. Everyone liked the most the bluefish pâté with their homemade chips. The tuna tartar was delicious as well. The halibut was great with zucchini. The oysters were good as well. No one was dissatisfied. The wine list is quite pricey. Locals had suggestions for other places to eat because they said it is to expensive. However, really the food is not to expensive. It's the beverages at $19 a glass and the wine that is $200 and up. If you keep that in mind, anyone can go there and enjoy the experience. The table ordered various desatara and those too were delicious. I think next time we will go for lunch and eat in the garden for the experience and beauty. Enjoy! PS. You will need a car or Uber. This is on the coast and not close to the Main Street area of downtown.

Have you ever seen the movie "Somewhere In Time" with Christopher Reeve? It's about time travel in a elegant resort. Even if you don't know the movie you will be transported to another place and time when you dine at The Chanticleer. Elegant gardens, a traditional me me menu welcome you in. Prompt and prompt service. The smoked salmon omelette was very good. My husband said he had never had a burger that was as fresh and hot. I'd recommend lunch so you have plenty of daylight to enjoy the gardens.

Entry way into the restaurant. Outdoor seating in the garden.

Ambiance was amazing. The food was good even though the menu was in comic sans. We shared the oysters, little gem salad and roasted beets amongst the five of us for appetizers. I had the halibut for dinner that was served on a potato purée. This is one of those places for a special night where you can enjoy the upscale ambiance and good food. It's worth it just to see the garden. I was too excited about the garden to get any pictures of the food...sorry.

Beautiful, delicious food. Perfect for a special occasion. Kind and caring staff, and a gorgeous setting. We sat outside and got to admire the flower gardens, but the inside is just as charming.

Catch Of The Day, salmon and virgin mojito

Ordered the Catch of the Day which was salmon and a virgin mojito. The salmon was out of this world in a lemony sauce on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes accompanied by vegetables. Service was quick. The ambiance is beautiful, make sure not to leave without snapping a picture in front of their garden.

If you are visiting the island they have a shuttle which will pick you up from in town, it runs in a continuous loop about every 20 min. Once at Cisco, they were charging a cover of $10 a person to get in. Inside they have a large courtyard, lots of tables, and a big stage with live music. They have a wine station, full liquor bar, and the beer station so you can try all of the things they make. They were doing a signature cocktail with fresh cucumber which was delicious and refreshing! They also distill their own spirits and single malt whiskey. A few years ago, someone offered to buy my parking space for $500. (I declined.) There's often live music. (Check local publications or their website for up-to-date schedules.) There are often a number of food trucks present. On our recent visit, we had oysters from Hang Ten (enormous, meaty and sweet, but shucked with a ton of shell shards); tacos, guac and nachos from Millie's; and pizza from Eat Fire Pizza. And of course we had a number of decent beers on tap from Cisco Brewers. They seem to tend towards lightness, minimal hoppiness: good summer brews for warm weather. It's family friendly -- including canine members. Our pup is a seasoned New Yorker and accustomed to crowds, but even she seemed a little frazzled by the press of people at times.

And the food is excellent, too!! We had an amazing array of appetizers, my favorite bings the vegetarian taquito and the feta dip. I highly recommend ordering both. The crostini and the gazpacho were also very tasty. As for my main, the eggplant pasta, I couldn't recommend it enough. Plus, there was plenty to take home for later!!! The restaurant is a bit loud in the evening because the bar is quite lively. They boast good drinks and good music! A dinner at say, 6pm, would be more calm if that is your vibe. The Buffalo fried fish app the waitress recommended wasn't my favorite and doesn't seem to be a dish that should be on the menu. It def felt like TGIFridays met Nantucket but not in a good way. Literally a deep fried block of fish smothered in buffalo sauce served on like a whipped blue cheese spread. Honestly, I think it was trying to elevate Buffalo when Buffalo can't be elevated. The fish entree I had was fine. Nothing out of this world. Actually quite unmemorable. Overall, $90 for 2 dishes that were fine, the app being even on a don't order suggestion, is a little jarring. Service and ambiance was great. I love the comp bread and little dip amuse bouche. Overall, fine. I think I ordered wrong, but I do think there are some better value and more exciting food happening at other places.

Busy but easy to talk to the person across from you. The fountain noise added to the pleasant ambience. We had a special of shrimp and pesto with pasta and a plate of the bolognese. Both were outstanding. We'd never seen shrimp paired with pesto, but it worked perfectly. The bolognese might be the best I've ever had. The sauce is really loaded with flavor, with some surprises, like rosemary. Just SO good. Although a little tricky with the large tag pasta. But that's irrelevant. We then went with the Neapolitan cheesecake. Even though I'm a cheesecake snob, I've never seen a cheesecake made with three layers like this: plain, strawberry and chocolate. At first I wasn't sure, as there's a lot of flavors going on, especially with the added chocolate sauce and (delicious) fresh whipped cream. Very creamy. Perfect! We'd absolutely go back.
