AMAZING!!!! DELICIOUS!!! FANTASTIC!!! Wow!! I haven't had a steak that tasted pretty close to how my dad makes it. My dad was a chef and I always compare food to his. My dad passed away and I miss his cooking...when I tasted this steak...I automatically felt a sense of comfort and at the same time deliciousness! It so happened that my mom and brother were both with me to experience this AMAZING DELICIOUSNESS. They also agreed that the food was very very close to my dad's. It was EXCELLENT! The service was Fantastic! The servers were all great! They sure know all about hospitality. The ambiance was very nice and elegant. A beautiful place for any celebration. We plan on visiting again soon. It may not the cheapest place BUT the food and service is worth every penny. I highly recommend going here at least once. Don't be surprised at how delicious this place is. You won't be disappointed at all, you'll probably want to come back for more.

Our second visit to the Charcoal Room - this time to celebrate Valentine's Day and attend David Benoit Concert at the Chrome Showroom in the Santa Fe Casino. Alexander was our server and very knowledgeable and professional! The ambiance was extraordinary with the live music! Our food was prepared exactly as requested and served in a timely manner. I continue to recommend this elegant restaurant for large or small groups!

We wanted to do something different this Easter so we figured we'd go out. We didn't want a "brunch" or buffet and so we looked at Santa Fe, they were open for Easter dinner at 1:00 PM, so we figured we could combine our brunch time with their Easter and traditional menu. Made a Rez for 1:00, figured it would be crowded, doors opened at 1:00 and could you believe it? it was empty . The whole time we were there only 4 other tables we're occupied. Asked our server and she figured it would get busy later. I think, that perhaps they didn't advertise the early opening since it usually opens at 5:00. Anyway, Diane was our server (we've had her table many times before) she was assisted by Juan and Andres. Bread was brought out, a mix of pretzel, raisin and sourdough. Replenished once without question. I had my usual Tito's martini with extra olives for protein. We split a Caesar salad. My dining companion opted for the bone in NY steak with a baked sweet potato and sautéed spinach . I opted for the porterhouse rather than my usual rib-eye. With a gigundo baked potato. Service was quick, the salad was expected, not huge but split two ways it was fine. Our steaks were butter tender and cooked just right (yeah 1/2 the cost of a steak on the strip) Spinach and taters were fine. We definetly were full and brought home food for at least two, maybe three more meals.

The Charcoal Room is a Steakhouse with two locations in Vegas. I had a spectacular dinner and service last time here (Santa Fe Location). Justin and the whole team were welcoming and helpful. The Chilean Sea Bass Special and the Ribeye were incredible. Everything was perfection. I had reservations for an early dinner. We were the second table seated. I was surprised that the hostess sat us right next to another table in a big (at the time) empty room. - anyways We had a different server and the special did sound good but we came to try the burgers so that is what we ordered. In reasonable time the burgers do arrive. Both burgers had the same problem. Both were cooked unevenly and both were over cooked. Mine was worst because I ordered mine medium and mine was part past well done and dried out. Maybe the worst part is that our server didn't even bother to check on us. After we were done with what we had we pushed the plates to the side. Then the server asked if I wanted a box since I left half for my dogs. I said yes and then we were asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. I Generously gave three stars averaging a great experience and a "could have been much better experience."

Sadness was had instead of celebration.

I was very disappointed on this visit. I usually recommend the charcoal room to visitors but now I'm rethinking that. The seafood tower was a plate with a raw lobster, sandy oysters, and a couple of shell on shrimp (not prawns) oh yes, and a dining cup of vinegar ( why I have no idea. In Addison to the "tower" we ordered a bone in ribeye cooked medium. It was so rare the meat still was bloody and cold.

I wanna start this by saying the service here was amazing, super sweet and on top of everything. But.... Food was beyond subpar for the amount of money spent in this place. For the amount of ingredients seemingly placed on the baked potatoes, no flavor came through. The salmon was more on the fishy side than the buttery flakiness it should have been. I've had beef tartar many places but the consistency of this one made me gag. Same with the oyster but that might be on me. I'm not big on oysters to begin with I just wanted to try something new. The mushrooms were actually pretty good. But lastly the Mac and cheese also was pretty bad... it seemed they didn't know how much salt to put on anything...either too much or none. I'm sorry I came here for a very nice date night with my wife and spent almost 300 dollars on food I asked to go cause I didn't want to be rude. I won't be returning. And again... super sweet waitresses and waiters here.

Usually, I love this place. We went to the bar for happy hour on Father's Day. We were told when we got there they weren't serving the regular bar bites. They should have posted this! Anyway, we ordered the Father's Day menu appetizer lobster something. It was terrible! Bland & tasteless. Zucchini chips definitely were an add on to make it look better. Not good! Plus, there were 3 bartenders. Not the most personable 3. We almost had to beg to get another drink!!! The bar was not busy! So disappointed!!!! Not the 4/5 star restaurant they are trying to portray. Waste of my time & money!

Came in for a quick appetizer. Food was delicious, however service was lacking. The 'waiter's helpers' were very nice.

We used to come here often years ago and it was amazing. We decided to try it out again and came away a bit disappointed. We both ordered the filet mignon (medium) and then got sides of crispy potato and yams. We also got the calamari appetizer and a chopped steakhouse salad. The calamari was average but the salad was good. The presentation of the food was good but my steak was very red, while my wife's had no red. How that happens at a steak restaurant where both were asked to be medium, I'm not sure. The yams were overly sweet and the crispy potato was subpar. Overall with two glasses of wine and tip, it was a $250 meal. There was also a loud beeping noise the entire meal that got drowned out a bit when it started getting busier. Our waiter was very nice and warned another star back for the review!

Came by for happy hour and was not disappointed. The happy hour has drinks and bar bites at half price every day from 4 pm - 530 pm at the bar only. The bar area was pretty busy but the bartenders maintained the bar well. Regarding the food, you will want to order these during happy hour as opposed to their normal price because $16 - $17 is pretty disappointing given the portion sizes. Price aside, the food was good as well but I still think the drinks stole the show. If you're in the Santa Fe and looking for a happy hour, I would recommend stopping by here. It's also a solid steakhouse so even coming here for dinner is a win!

This resturant is inside the Santa Fe Casino close to where we live so we decide to give it a try. We had reservations at 645pm and they were seating on time. It was Valentine's Day so a little busy. The service was good and the staff tried to be attentive but they were busy so it wasn't as good as we expected. We had ordered the wedge salad which was very good and they split it for us in kitchen. We also ordered the salmon and scallops which both were good but the scallops definitely the best. We split a side of macaroni and cheese which was more than enough for us. I was good but a little on the rich side so had to finish up. The Crème Burlee was probably one of the best we have had and definitely a highlight of our evening. The inside atmosphere is nice however the bar and it's seating is in the center and regular dining seating is located around it. Unfortunately, we go seated along the side of the bar so the noise level was high and it was difficult to hear the live music and each other. The seating is also closer than we expected so it was not as intimate and private as we would have preferred. The live musician was a nice touch along with the complimentary photographer who's was taking your photo. Parking of course is free and easy. Overall, we had a good experience.

Five star experience when you consider the dedication the staff have to making sure your food is exactly as you like it to be. My family and I came to The Charcoal Room for a celebration. My partner ordered a medium rare steak. When he had cut into it he noticed it was a little blue. Before even looking up from his steak, one of the waiters noticed immediately and swooped in to save the meal. The steak was recooked and once it was back on the table, three different employees crowded around to watch the first cut and make sure it was to our liking. It was, and the steak was well seasoned. Amazing service from people who go above and beyond to make sure your food is exactly as expected! They have returning customers from us.

Ask the Community - The Charcoal Room

Is the steakhouse open on Christmas 2023?

Do they still have a pork chop on the menu?

    Yep. They are excellent.

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like battered chicken that would cross contaminate gluten free french fries? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.

Has the Charcoal Room removed Prime Rib from their menu? Last 2 visits unavailable.. thank you

Yes, it seems they have abandoned the prime rib. We eat here frequently, as recently as a month ago... and we haven't seen prime rib in ages. Closest place to get fantastic prime rib is Bob Taylor's.

Once I stepped foot inside and saw a completely packed house with an hour and a half wait and barely standing room at the bar, I knew it was worth whatever wait or process I had to go through. I was able to snag a bar top seat pretty quickly and had I known then I was sitting down to what was going to be one of the best meals of my life, I would have been visibly more excited. Not only was the service absolutely top notch, the people and the regulars there were extremely friendly and outgoing. The vibe was perfect, a strange mix of a place that felt like it had been there for 200 years yet was somehow high energy and vibey. From a killer cocktail recommendation to one of the best steaks I've had in my life and coming from Oklahoma City, where I work a mile away from the stockyards and can get great quality fresh beef six ways from Sunday, that's saying a lot. I usually despise most things truffle but if I was forced to eat that truffle mac and cheese every day for the rest of my life I would consider it a life well lived. While I would have never ordered it on my own, a customer next to me recommended the porn star cocktail and I have to say it was also one of the most delicious things I've ever had in my life. Ten out of ten, top notch experience. Would recommend. Will be back every time I'm in Vegas, no questions asked.

The standout of the meal was, without a doubt, the seafood tower. It was absolutely worth ordering. The generous portions of crab, lobster, and shrimp made it feel like a great value, especially since the crab was already out of the shell and the lobster was perfectly prepared and ready to enjoy. We also loved the mango and raspberry sorbets for dessert--they were incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. We brought our own bottle of wine and paid the $50 corkage fee. I also ordered the Black Cherry Margarita, which was delicious, while my husband enjoyed a glass of the Domaine Laroche Chablis. Unfortunately, the steak was just okay. We ordered it medium-rare, but it came out a bit overcooked. The wedge salad and French fries were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. We expected to spend around $500 for dinner, so the price itself wasn't the issue. We were simply hoping the quality would better match the cost. While we enjoyed parts of the meal--especially the seafood tower, desserts, and the wonderful service from Xavier and Kimmy--we left feeling that the overall dining experience didn't quite justify the price tag.

It felt upscale without being too formal, and it was the perfect place to sit with my mom and enjoy a relaxed conversation. We ordered champagne by the glass, and it was excellent. The first sip was crisp, refreshing, and immediately made the moment feel special. My mom and I both really enjoyed it. The burrata cheese was absolutely delicious. It was soft, creamy, and fresh, with a rich but delicate flavor. When I cut into it, the texture was beautifully smooth, and the creaminess paired so well with everything else on the plate. I especially loved the fruit pairing. The brûléed orange and charred grapefruit added a bright, slightly sweet, and lightly bitter flavor that balanced the creamy burrata perfectly. The basil added freshness and brought the whole dish together. The ham served with the burrata was also excellent. Sometimes prosciutto or cured ham can be too salty and overpower the dish, but this one was not too salty at all. It had a nutty, savory flavor that went beautifully with the burrata. The creamy cheese, refreshing fruit, fresh basil, and savory ham were very well balanced. My favorite bite was with a little burrata on the crostini, some fruit, and a piece of the ham together. The crispy bread, creamy cheese, bright fruit, and savory ham all worked perfectly in one bite. We only came in for a glass of champagne, but this starter made the visit feel much more special. The service was also comfortable and professional. The staff was attentive without being overwhelming, and the pace felt relaxed. That kind of service makes a big difference, especially when you want to enjoy a nice moment without feeling rushed. This visit became a sweet memory with my mom. A cold glass of champagne with lively bubbles, delicious burrata, and ham that was savory but not too salty made the whole experience feel elegant and enjoyable. Sometimes a simple, unplanned stop turns into one of the best parts of the day. I would definitely come back again next time I am in the area. If you enjoy burrata cheese, I highly recommend this dish. We came in without high expectations, but left very impressed and very happy.

This place is worth the $$$$$ When you walk in the vibe is…read morevery low lighting which I love because I'm not a fan of bright lights. Be prepared for a wait even if you reserve a table, this place is very popular. The service and staff is very kind and quick tho, they are very knowledgeable on everything on the menu as well. The most important part tho is the food, it was exquisite. I saw someone order the hanging tomahawk too and I tried not to drool. Don't worry they will serve you some really good bread while you wait. I can't wait to go back here and get the hanging tomahawk. That vision and smell of it lives rent free in my head ‍
