I visited The Cheesecake Factory in Cerritos on Friday around noon with one of my friends. I hadn't been to The Cheesecake Factory since I was 18, so I was curious to see how it would hit as a grown woman. The restaurant was clean and fairly spacious, although I wasn't a huge fan of how dark the inside was, especially considering it was noon. We ended up sitting on the patio, which I actually preferred. We started with the fried calamari, which was delicious. I also ordered the cucumber martini with Ketel One vodka, and that was definitely a favorite. For my main dish, I ordered the Chicken Costoletta and substituted the mashed potatoes for angel hair pasta, along with asparagus and a side of the sauce. The food was good, and I enjoyed the chicken more than the pasta. Service was okay. My friend and I both asked for extra sauce, but hers didn't come with her food. It took about 10 minutes for the sauce to arrive, and by then her food had cooled down a bit. I was almost finished eating, so unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy our meals at the same time. My biggest surprise was the bathrooms. For a restaurant this large, I expected the restrooms to be bigger. Overall, the food was good, but honestly, The Cheesecake Factory felt a little overhyped to me and very much like a chain restaurant. I've given Cheesecake Factory a few tries now, and honestly... I just don't get the hype. I've ordered some of their "customer favorite" dishes thinking okay, THIS time I'll see what everyone is talking about -- but unfortunately, still nothing has really impressed me. The food is just... okay. Nothing bad enough to complain about, but definitely nothing that has me craving it or rushing back. The one thing I will happily give them credit for is the Pineapple Upside-Down Cheesecake. That's the only thing I've had here that I genuinely love. I hadn't been to Cheesecake Factory in over five years. It used to be the place I'd go to with my friends to celebrate birthdays or graduations back in middle school. I recently saw a video about how Cheesecake Factory manages one of the largest, everything made fresh menus in America, and since my friend had never been we decided to go. I booked a reservation a week in advance because it was national cheesecake day and they were doing half off on all their cheesecakes! We checked in at 6:45pm on a Thursday and was told by the hostess that we'd get a message once our table was ready. 30 minutes passed and I still hadn't yet received a text - I even checked my reservation details to make sure my phone number was correct. I thought things were backed up because of the half-off deal crowd but when I checked in for an update, the hostess seemed confused. They quickly had us sat down in the outside patio area, and a table where the sun was directly shining into my face... We asked to speak to a manager and AJ, the host manager came by to help us figure out what had went wrong with our reservation and to seat us at a more comfortable table. I want to thank him again for his assistance and appreciate all he did for us. For our appetizers, we ordered the crab and artichoke dip, and crispy brussels sprouts. Instead of the crab dip, we received the spinach and artichoke dip (sigh). When we spoke to our server, they mentioned that the only dip with artichoke was the spinach one until I showed them the description for the crab dip on the menu. An honest mistake to make with how large the menu is and how often things are changed. In the end, our favorite food of the meal ended up being the appetizers. Both the brussels sprouts and crab dip were 10/10. The cheesecake was delicious as always. We ended up leaving the restaurant at 8:45pm, so two hours was spent due to all the delays and issues. We had a very friendly, but inattentive and forgetful waiter which made our dining experience really long and exhausting, which was hard for us cause we were dealing with twin toddlers. The food was decent, but some items like the mashed potatoes were too salty. We notified our server of our twin's allergies, which included dairy, but one of their kid's meals still came out with mashed potatoes. My husband and I took our family here for Mother's Day. If you've been the Cheesecake Factory before, you know what to expect--good food and big portions! On 07/17/26, I had a taste for a Cheesecake Factory Macaroni and Cheeseburger so we went to the location at the Cerritos Mall. My husband had the Salmon Plate. We were both pleased. The ambience is always special and our server Pedro was superb. He was so attentive. He was ready to go over their menu, kept drinks flowing and made sure we enjoyed our meals. We did get some of the food items before we got bread so that was strange but we weren't too upset about it at all. Now for the real reason behind this review: my partner ordered a steal, medium rare. When the steak was brought out, we could tell immediately that the steak was cooked to a medium well level. My sweet partner forbade me from bringing it up to the server as he doesn't like to cause problems. We were letting it slide when our server, Nikki, checked in with us and even doubled back when she noticed the steak was improperly prepared. She was super apologetic and kind and stated she would get a new steak since the first one was overdone. She offered a soup or salad while we waited for the new food to arrive. The next steak came out hot and cooked properly the second time and my partner got to enjoy his meal how he preferred so a win there. The server showed up quickly, brought us water and drinks, and took our order. She brought hot bread to eat before we had our main course. The entre was warm/almost hot. It was really tasty as well. I had salmon (a tad bit dry, but good), and I probably would order a different dish the next time. My wife had a pizza inspired chicken with pasta. The chicken was flattened like a pizza crust with angel hair pasta on top. My wife really really enjoyed it. We ordered two separate slices of cheesecake for dessert. My wife enjoyed her peach cheesecake, and my lemon merengue cheesecake was (ok). As usual it was a little noisy inside the restaurant, but I guess that's what you get with a super popular place. We saw several (6-10) cheesecake Factory bags (doggie bags) on the way as we were walking to the restaurant. Despite being crowded, the service was excellent. We visited on a Sunday and there was a little wait to get seated, but wasn't too bad considering it was a weekend. After 15-20 minutes we were seated. We asked for outdoor since we had our dog. The "outdoor " area we were seated was actually inside the mall right outside the restaurant ( was perfect lol) Staff that seated us was very friendly and so was our server. Came here for my friends birthday with her daughter. As we were getting seated the hostess asked if we were celebrating something because she saw the gift I was holding, so I excitedly told her we were celebrating her birthday. Everything took so long despite having very few tables around us (we sat outside by the entrance), but what bothered me most was when our dishes finally came out our steak and fries were cold. We ate the pasta and left the tiny cold steak and mountain of fries alone until the server finallyyyy came by...so I mentioned the steak and fries were cold. He offered to take it back and made a comment that he noticed the plate felt cold when he was bringing it over to our table. Not sure why he would say that, because if he knew it was cold wouldn't the right thing to do is ask the kitchen to heat it up or remake it instead of having us complain that it was cold? Anyways, the time for them to re-do the steak and fries extended our time there even more which was pretty exhausting. When it finallllyy came out it was pretty much the same as the first time. Maybe a tad warmer with the fries being mixed with cold and warm fries at best. Took forever to get boxes to pack up and the bill. We ordered for a slice of cheesecake to go. (The other thing that bothered me was I thought a place like cheesecake would maybe bring a slice of cheesecake out for my friend, especially since they went out of their way to ask what we were celebratingl. Cheesecake Factory count your days. I want everyone to look at the portion I received for the Ahi Tuna Nachos -- a dish they charge $20.95 for. I had more soy sauce than ahi tuna. Pure scam. I called and spoke with the manager, Grant, who clearly thought the situation was funny. He told me the ahi tuna is "prepackaged at around 2 oz." So I decided to put everything on a scale myself... and it wasn't even 2 oz. It came out to about 1.5 oz. I'm absolutely livid because I've ordered this exact dish several times while dining in, and it looked NOTHING like this. Apparently because I ordered takeout, someone thought it was acceptable to cut corners and short a customer. For over $20, this portion is embarrassing. We've visited this location a couple of times and unfortunately had a similar issue with the brown bread being burned both visits. It was replaced, but it was a bit disappointing to see it happen again. Service felt slower than expected, our drinks and food took quite a while, and when the food arrived, it was only lukewarm. The steak, in particular, didn't seem freshly prepared. We understand that not everything is within the server's control, but more consistent check-ins and communication would have made a difference. My daughter took me out for my birthday here and for the first time paid the bill, was pretty sweet! The restaurant was nice inside, liked the lighting and vibe. The food to be honest was "meh" at best. She got the hot wings and loves wings but said, the wings really weren't that good. Not crispy on the outside, dry on the inside. Her boyfriend had the pasta, he liked it, but I don't think it's very hard to please him. My wife had the pizza, and she ate all but the last price so I would say she liked it. I had the tuna poke and would of been nice to have more tuna, edamame was good but when 50% is white rice and it's not made well dry and had crunchies in it then time to go back to the drawing board. The fresh cucumber and veggies in it were pleasant. I ate about half of it. The service was pretty good as the food took about 15 minutes to make it out, the waitress (Maria) was kind and checked on us a few times. The cheesecake although they had a large selection I had the vanilla bean one and it's nothing to rave about, like having one that you order frozen from your kids fundraiser. I had a few bites and gave it to my 12 year old when I got home. I started to give 3 stars but pulled it back to 2 after I finished writing this, I wouldn't go back now thinking about it. The mall was quite busy, which led my husband to decide against looking for restaurants in the food court, as he anticipated difficulty in finding available seating. We then checked the line at the Cheesecake Factory. Although there were many individuals waiting for tables, we were fortunate to find a few open spots at the bar. I would strongly advise making a reservation on weekends to avoid relying on bar seating availability. The bartenders were very courteous and attentive, despite how busy they were constantly making drinks. I informed my husband that I would be unable to finish my Shrimp Scampi, so he opted for a Cobb Salad. He overlooked the fact that their Cobb Salad is quite substantial. We both thoroughly enjoyed our respective orders. Should we decide to visit this mall again in the future, we will most certainly be making reservations at this particular Cheesecake Factory. She ignored us for awhile after we sat but we weren't in any rush and understand being "busy". For 20 minutes didn't get us any drinks no water 20 mins in I asked can I please have water. The beet salad locked the yogurt, honey dressing. And our waitress kinda ignored us after she took our order. Our real issue came when the check arrived. Our rewards were not redeemed, and we had to talk to a manager about adjusting our checks.
