My family and I decided to have our annual Christmas Eve dinner at Cheesecake Factory because we really couldn't decide on what we wanted to eat and the variety offered here was jussssst what the doctor ordered. I consider Cheesecake Factory one of those "higher end" chain restaurants because of its décor, menu and the fact that it'll still cost you a pretty penny to dine here, but the crowd is always very diverse, which we enjoy seeing. We made a reservation for 6:30pm and we pretty much knew there would be a crowd when reservations were slim online around our reservation slot. The restaurant was indeed BUSY, but the parking lot was even BUSIER. For those who have been to the Shops at Riverside, parking is always challenging, but especially during dinner on weekends or holidays. Circling around a few times is not all that uncommon here. Luckily, despite the number of customers waiting to be seated, we were led to our table immediately right on time without having to wait in the crowded waiting area, so reservations FTW! Sad that we were excited to be seated at our reservation time, but that's what it has come to at some restaurants where waits can be excruciating despite reservations. Our first observation when we walked in was how dimly lit the restaurant was. Yes, it was evidently loud too because of how crowded it was, but the lack of lighting was not our cup of tea, especially with 2 littles ones with us. The menu was the menu. Like many American cuisine chain restaurants and probably like any Cheesecake Factory, the menu had lots to offer. First, we started with the Hot Spinach and Cheese Dip and Stuffed Mushrooms. Nachos were really, really good, with the artichoke dip. Maybe our starvation swayed our opinion a bit, but the dip was still solid. And, this starter is totally shareable with a table of 4. Next, the Stuffed Mushrooms. Yes, these were delicious too, but sadly, it only came as an order of 6. Standard, but disappointing because of how good it was. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Chicken Madeira Steak Diane and I ordered the Chicken Piccata. From the pictures and reviews online, these seemed like the 2 clear cut winners for most popular dishes here and both were absolute winners. We totally see why many customers order them. The chicken in both dishes were very tender, delicious and well-flavored. Typically, chicken breast can be a bit rubbery and require lots of salt, but not here. Texture was spot on and flavors were just right. For the Steak Diane, it was quite small since it was combined with the Chicken Madeira, however it was good. The dish also came with mashed potatoes as a carb. As for the Chicken Piccata, there was a large serving of angel hair pasta on top of it and, when mixed into the lemon sauce .... bliss! Unfortunately, we didn't have much space for dessert/cheesecake, but the food was delicious. Honestly, we had no complaints about any of it what so ever. The service was OK in that they were relatively friendly, but failed to visit us again after we received our food. My first time visiting a Cheesecake Factory Establishment and it was shhhhhh....t..! As soon as we were seated I should have known by the dust surrounding the booth. Service has gone downhill, had to keep asking for the beer and soda we ordered then for again for soda refills. Ordered cheesecake to go and part of my cheesecake was missing and it was much smaller. Usually the cheesecake is a decent size slice that fills the container and takes 3-4 days to eat. This is half that, it's lighter like a whipped cream cheese and the bottom layer of red velvet is a sliver not a layer. Thought I was imagining things until I looked up reviews and saw the older pics of the big slices that don't fall apart. I know almost everybody has been to a Cheesecake Factory, and yes, it's fine but nothing to brag about. Food is subpar and overpriced. The only thing really decent is their cheesecakes. I think what really bothers me is the amount of carbs they bombard customers with every dish. Not very protein friendly. I orders crab dip, which was good, but it came with a loaf of bread practically; perhaps they should offer veggie sticks in place of bread. The chicken piccata was good, but once again, carb overload. Then their is the bread basket that's another carb overload. Rather than bringing, ask customers if they want the bread. It's just annoying how they try to overload customers with unhealthy items, mainly carbs, rather than offer a salad as a pre-course dish while we wait for the main entree. Once again, veggie sticks, like carrots or celery, with the spinach dip and crab dips. Not saying all this will make the dishes a lot healthier, but it would give customers a healthier option. My pasta was good and my friend enjoyed the chicken vegetable soup and house salad. The peach lemonade was super sweet. The classic basque cheesecake was the best part of the meal. Food-wise, I think it's gonna taste pretty much the same no matter which location you go to. I highly recommend the Louisiana chicken pasta. I highly do NOT recommend the fettuccine alfredo (unless you like bland things and/or you're ordering for a picky eater). The service at this particular location is sub-par. I came with a group of 6 for lunch on a Sunday. We arrived at about 1:30 PM and were told it would be a 40 minute wait, which we were fine with. We gave a phone number to get a text when our table was ready and sat outside Barnes & Noble. At around 2 PM, one of my friends went up to the front to ask how much longer our wait would be... only to find out that they had apparently sent us a text a few minutes prior saying that our table was ready. Yeah, to this day that text still has not arrived. Pretty sure the employee who took our phone # entered it in wrong or something. Good thing my friend went to ask when she did, or else who knows how much longer we would've been cluelessly waiting!!! *strike 1* We were finally seated a little past 2 PM. Our table was in a corner at the back of the restaurant. Our server came about 5ish minutes later to take our drink orders. We were ready to order food at the same time, so she took those orders too. We waited and waited for our drinks... my blood sugar was starting to drop... 2:15 came and went, then 2:30... not even the waters came. Finally, at around 2:35 PM, our food came. Before our drinks. We told the server who brought our food (different person than the one who took our orders) that we were still waiting for drinks. He said, "They'll be out shortly. Are they alcoholic drinks?" "No, just regular sodas and waters..." He seemed a bit surprised, then said he would bring them out right away. *strike 2* Like I mentioned earlier, the fettuccine alfredo was not the best choice, but I guess that was my fault for not ordering something better lol. I don't blame them, I got exactly what I ordered. However, my friend did NOT get exactly what she ordered. She got the Sheila's Chicken and Avocado Salad. It did not come with any chicken. *strike 3* Our server didn't come to check on us for a while so we couldn't send it back. Instead we just asked for a discount on the salad since it was missing one of the main ingredients. I think they took $4 off. Overall quite disappointed with the service here. It wasn't even THAT busy by the time we finally sat down to eat, so I'm not sure why service was so slow the entire time. Maybe she forgot about us because we were so far back in the corner while the rest of her tables were elsewhere. In any case, it was very unfortunate that being stuck in the corner meant having a hard time getting our server's attention. The service is pretty good, the waiters/waitresses are always around when you need them but also they're not bothering you when you don't. The wait time in this location are usually not as crazy, not as long as other locations I've visited. I spoke to a manager that advised me that he would fully refund the money back to my credit card. Never received, it came into the establishment. Spoke to another manager regarding the situation. He told me that he he could only give me back $25. From the original bill Because it was hair only in a small amount of the food. That is the craziest thing I have ever heard from a manager. Ambiance; the restaurant is always pretty and busy. It can get quite noisy with music, chatter and dishes clanking. Service; is good. When seated your server arrives promptly with 2 delicious types of bread for the table and ready to take your drink order. They do serve wine and beer. Food; this is where it differs. We hadn't been there in a long time. I was craving the Fish & Chips. I remembered the 4/5 inch size Cod pieces battered and fluffy crisp, with a decent amount of fries and tasty Cole slaw. My daughter had seared tuna on a bed of greens. What I got was a few 3 inch size breaded pieces of chewy Cod, bland Cole slaw (blindfolded I would not know what I was eating) and a good amount of decent fries. 1 measley slice of lemon and spicey aioli/tarter sauce (good). All for $24. Needless to say I was disappointed. The 4 thin slices of seared tuna was fair with overdressed greens, priced north of $25, portion size just ok. Of course the cheesecake selection was incredible, we shared the raspberry one, $11. A small slice with lots of whipped cream on the plate. We did see ample portion sizes of other salads, pasta dishes and appetizers pass our table, so we had high hopes. It was a Wednesday evening about 7 pm and the restaurant was very busy. Most entrees were $25 and over. Our bill was $78 which included 1 beer, $8. I expected more. Oh well, will I return? Yes, most likely. But the prices even for this day and age, are up there. You can feel like you found all of these things outside of your home, at The Cheesecake Factory. The Cheesecake Factory is a place where everyone can enjoy their meal. Walking in, you know you're in good hands. The wait on this cool Thursday evening was short. We were seated a few booths from the entrance, far enough away from the door as to avoid a draft but close enough to the bathroom as to ensure easy access. It was a great seat, and, despite the size of the place, I felt cozy. A few minutes in, we were given bread and water. Great bread, great water. There was nothing out of the ordinary, and the other five people I was with (my mother, my brother, my father, my grandmother, and my grandfather) seemed to be enjoying themselves. The background music and chatting of evening diners were loud enough to cover a silence, yet not so loud as to block our means of communication. The waiter, like the rest of the waiters, was dressed appropriately and holding a notepad and pen. He took our drink orders and some of our entree orders.He knew the menu like the palm of his hand, as opposed to the last time we were there (when we got a waiter in training who messed up our orders). The food was brought in batches, most likely the waiter waiting for a large chunk of our order to be ready before bringing it all out to minimize his trips. This did leave some of our food cold, but it increased our odds of eating and finishing at the same time. Overall, great waiter, mildly annoying shortcuts. Finally, the food. The first thing I got was the appetizer I ordered: avocado egg rolls. Just the idea of this delicious treat, this appetizing morsel, this delectable piece of human innovation leaves my mouth watering. Mainly because I forgot to eat lunch today. Regardless, the goey outside rivalled with the goey inside, matched up with the stiff tortilla-like parameter, allowing for my begging for more. Ten out of ten (not sure how healthy it was, though.) I got my cucumber lemonade shortly after. To be honest, I don't usually order such snobby drinks. This time, however, the idea caught my eye on the massive menu and I decided to give it a try, just for the hell of it. It paid off, but in a small amount. The thing was mainly ice, weighing down both the flavor and value of the item. Though I felt the lemon and cucumber worked together in a delicious savoury, not-too-sweet kind of way, there wasn't enough to satisfy my thirst. Six out of ten. Lastly, the chicken. On my first bite, I knew this breaded orange chicken nugget was going to be one for the history books. Then again, my first bite was the whole nugget. Portions at the Cheesecake Factory tend to be large, but this one didn't hold up. For 26 dollars, a pad of rice, some veggies, an (ooey gooey) sauce, and 10 chicken nuggets doesn't seem like enough. Though I massively enjoyed the first nugget, having it be both soft and structured at the same time, with the sauce working so well (on all three items), and my mouth begging for more, the second nugget was a bit more dry, and I could feel a tough bit inside, like a metal beam in a pool of honey. Both undercooked and sitting out, the nugget was a sheer disappointment. Then again, I ate it, and then some. It wasn't inedible, rather weak compared to that glorious first bite. Oh! Forgot about dessert. The Reese's chocolate peanut butter cake was melt-in-your-mouth glorious. The chocolate was sweet, the peanut butter was savory. Would recommend; am recommending. In conclusion, any chicken-nugget connoisseur, parent of many, or person in need of a break should go to the Cheesecake Factory. read more

I recommend going for the cheesecakes that come with fruit. But personally, I would never order out a meal from Cheescake Factory. It is unimpressive for the price, and you are better off ordering fast food pizza to be honest. I am sure a few of their menu items are half decent, but typically it is not that great or flavorful or that impressive.
