So I'm going to share the good and the bad.... I went to the Cheesecake Factory with family, the first time in years and was saddened by the great decline it has taken. The bad. The BATHROOMS WERE HORRENDOUS! First in the hallways leading to the bathroom there was paper towels on the counter. Then in the women's bathroom paper towels and trash was everywhere. The floor was wet and each stall had NO TOILET PAPER! Perhaps because all the toilet paper was thrown on the floor. One of the ladies went to tell the waiter and she said she would tell someone. We waited and waited and had to ask a man to bring out some toilet paper for us out of the men's bathroom! How terrible! It was like going into a gas station bathroom! You would think for a restaurant that communicating cleanliness would be priority. One of our ladies went and told the manager and he apologized. Gross! I wish I took pictures of how bad it was! The Ok. The first batch of honey wheat bread to us wasn't fresh or reheated too long. It had a bitter char flavor and was very dry! It literally broke up into crumbs as we tried to butter it. Was in Willowbrook Mall making a few returns and purchases and said that I had the craving for salmon for lunch and remembered that there was a Cheesecake Factory at the mall so I said let's do it! It was lunchtime and I decided to sit at the bar. I was the only customer at the bar at the time and when the bartender / server saw me they immediately greeted me asked if I wanted water and bread and allowed me a few minutes to look over the menu. I went with the Miso Salmon lunch portion because from what I remember of it, it was previously delicious so I said let's me see if it still is and kills my salmon craving. My entree arrived in the perfect amount of time (allowing me to enjoy a bit of bread and butter and my drink) and it was beautifully plated! It was also a very nice serving for a lunch portion. Taste wise it was BOMB!!! That miso salmon can give some of the best salmon I've had a run for its money .... it totally lives up to what I remembered it tasting like. I only ate half and asked the server if she could bring a to go box and she volunteered to take it and wrap it up for me and also to throw in additional miso glaze and butter sauce. This is an incredible place to try different desserts and delicious food! When we arrived, the waitress put some hot, fresh bread on the table. Although I'm not usually a fan of bread, this one was great! My favorite was the brown bread, which had a hint of chocolate flavor. We shared two desserts among three people, and the portions were generous and tasty. We even had to take some home! The waitress was very kind, and the restaurant itself was large and clean. Had the crab bites which are bite sized crab cakes served with tatter sauce which was quite tasty, the ahi tuna crispy rice was not as fresh as I expected and the rice patties weren't crispy. The Buffalo wings were good but we were served bad blue cheese dressing. Walked after a little Christmas shopping for a slice of cheesecake to bring home. They have monitors with most of foods they serve. I shouldn't have looked at them. Well, never say never, right?! Here is my updated review. The last time I was at this location, my experience was so bad that I vowed to never return. Lo and behold, I found myself seated at the bar for brunch, again. What can I say, a foodie's GOT TO eat, right? Lol. It was quiet and not crowded, assuming due to the time (around 11am). The cinnamon roll pancakes were fluffier than your favorite clouds, and delicious at every forkful. As expected, I could barely finish half, so I took the rest to go. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the ridiculous increase of practically the entire menu. I was a little appalled flipping through the pages. I understand the economy, inflation, etc. but come on, it's outlandish at this point. Price points are way up and the portion/size is the same or worse, much smaller. It's not a win for the customer AT ALL. All I can say is I remember when... smh Overall, I am pleased that this experience exceeded the horrible time before. Here's a tip: you may need to request new/clean silverware. I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at The Cheesecake Factory last night was unacceptable -- especially for a birthday celebration. We ordered a burger that came out horrible and extremely overcooked, completely dry and barely edible. We politely brought it to our server's attention (who was very professional), assuming it would be replaced or removed from the bill. The manager, Josh, was extremely condescending and refused to comp the dish -- even after everyone agreed the burger was horrible. When he came to our table, he was dismissive and completely off-putting, showing absolutely no sense of customer service or accountability. This was supposed to be a birthday celebration, and his attitude ruined the entire experience. A routine visit to cheesecake right?....you would think so.... So we had a 7pm reservation (yes you can make cheesecake reservations now) and was seated at 7:17PM. NBD , it's a busy Friday night and we choose a pretty popular restaurant, we get it. We ordered not long after. We didn't get our food until 8pm, they forgot our appetizer and I was served salad with cold chicken and no dressing. I picked the chicken out to show what little there even was in there (see picture below) so I asked the kitchen for a warm grilled chicken. They then proceeded to charge me $6 for said chicken. I also got the Skinnylicious sangria, which I was hoping would come with fruit (as sangria is normally served!) and I got ... one tiny piece of an apple.... This was a horrible experience to a restaurant I used to come to pretty regularly. Additionally, my friend who is also a regular ordered her usual meal of Crispy Chicken Costoletta, which did not have any sauce on it and the feature of the chicken was very questionable to the point where she was afraid to eat half her dish. The Cheesecake Factory is always going to be a pretty consistent experience- gigantic menu, decent food, excellent bread. This particular location was good, quiet and not crowded, and we were seated relatively quickly for it being prime dinner time. The food was brought to us quickly, and was tasty enough with gigantic portion sizes leaving you with enough to bring home leftovers. The gripe that I've always had with Cheesecake Factory (every location, not particularly this one) is that a standard meal is so calorie dense that if you are trying to watch your weight, you can easily lose your entire calorie budget for the day (and then some...) in one meal, possibly on an appetizer alone. Often, the amount of calories doesn't seem worth what you are eating, such as a pasta dish. Out of all of the different locations for this establishment that we have ever been to, this one was by far the best. Located at Willowbrook Mall off of Route 46 in Wayne, the Cheesecake Factory is usually busy, especially on weekends. The wait time for dinner this past Saturday was reasonable after reserving via their website. Upon arrival, my partner and I were greeted at the host station and got a table right away. We decided on the Grilled Fish Tacos, served with rice and beans, and the Famous Factory Meatloaf, served with mashed potatoes and corn. We even saved some room for desserts and got Key Lime Cheesecake and Chocolate Truffle Tower Cake. Complimentary Sourdough and Pumpernickel breads started our meal. Food was made to order, fresh, came out hot, tasty, and portions were reasonable. The price was comparable to the area. On Sundays, this CCF is good for Bergen county residents, since we get to shop in the mall afterwards. This restaurant has been able to maintain the standard CCF experience that you get in other locations. Our food took the usual long CCF wait time to come out. Food taste was the usually how it is in CCF. I tried Shrimp and chicken Gumbo for the first time. I liked the dish, but the rice seemed cold and dry, a better quality rice would have made it much better. Our service was okay. I can't remember his name and I don't know what I did with the receipt, which is a shame because I would have like to mention that he was great. I ordered a coconut Mojito and oh my God it was so good that I had another. They also have three sizes of salads. They have the appetizer size the lunch size as well as the regular size. My friend ordered the appetizer size and I ordered the lunch size. When the salad came I was shocked. They were huge. The appetizer size should have been more of the lunch size. My lunch size should've been a dinner size, if there is such a thing because they were large enough that I don't think that they need to be any bigger. I think they would satisfy anyone. I also decided to have a piece of cheesecake. I had the lemon meringue and it was really delicious. I do plan to go again. I visited CCF with my SO and a friend for dinner on a early Friday evening. The restaurant was pretty busy, but we were able to get a table quickly. Our server was fantastic and so attentive, even with taking care of several other tables. I ordered a mojito that came out great, while my SO's did not taste the same, so we weren't crazy about that. They were accommodating with my request for a vegetarian cobb salad, but I was totally unprepared for the monster-sized plate that arrived at the table. With the hefty prices, you definitely get what you pay for, but my portion size was way too big. I would much rather get a small portion that I'll actually be able to eat. I requested extra egg in the salad instead of having meat, and they tasted a little funny, so no cobb next time. In contrast, my companions loved their dishes and were able to eat majority of what they had. I wasn't a big fan of the ultra-dim lighting either, I had an eye ache from the minute we sat down and I can't imagine how people are able to work there. Decided to stop in for lunch and use up my birthday reward coupon for a free slice of cheesecake. Went to the location at Willowbrook mall. Cheesecake factory has always been a hard decision spot for me. The regular menu is huge and filled with too many great options. I sat in the bar area. I put aside the thick menu and looked over the smaller 2 page menu instead. That drastically cut down on my choices, so I picked the first thing that popped out at me. The Asian chicken lettuce wrap tacos. Very healthy! Then I allowed myself to be bad and ordered a glass of Cheesecake Factory's Reserve Cabernet. Both were very good. The server was nice. I couldn't find the email with my free slice notice. She asked for the phone number on my rewards account. I let her know there should be a free slice of cheesecake on there and she had no problem finding it. When she brought over my very cherry Ghirardelli cheesecake, she had it all decked out with a candle and happy birthday written in chocolate. That was so sweet! I could only finish half, so I'll be able to extend the birthday love tonight for dessert. I learned they have happy hour from 4 to 6 Monday through Friday. Be aware that in the bar area there are low top tables that are not part of the bar, even if they're in the bar area. My server informed me that these tables are not included in the happy hour, and aren't usually served by the bar staff, so if I came back when it was busier I'd be seated by a hostess and order off the regular menu. But she said not a problem since the restaurant had just opened. Best to sit at a high top and have the bar experience next time, which i prefer anyway.
