This is not a true fried chicken place. It's all wings. I was highly disappointed. I was really looking forward for some good for fried chicken. When I went to this place and found out it was all fried wings I was soooo disappointment. But I ordered anyways. It wasn't anything special. The atmosphere was certainly inviting at first. I first thought this place was going to have tons of options because of the giant menu behind the waiters. Once I started looking at those options I noticed that the only things available were different combinations of wings and "chicken fingers". After ordering I got quick service, seemingly too quick. I had barely sat down and the food arrived. The chicken fingers were nothing more than oversized chicken strips, very chewy from being overcooked, not very hot either. I did find a drumstick with my wings which didn't make much sense, very overcooked and a tad bit too crunchy for my liking, they were covered in salt, had my girlfriend with me and she loves things salty but those wings and legs were even too salty for her. When I began eating the wings I got disturbed by what I thought were hairs but actually ended up being fibers left over from the feathers. I swear my chicken was going to take off flying right from my plate. The positive side to this place was definitely the employees, the sauces (though a bit runny), and the family atmosphere. This is our third or fourth visit here and we have been pleased each time. The wings and tenders are large and meaty. The $1 night on tenders tonight, so we loaded up. The tenders are NOT your average dried out chicken jerky like you get most places. These tenders are the full breast meat chunks like you pulled them off the bone yourself. They are juicy and tender, NOT overcooked at all. The breading is light so it doesn't make you feel guilty "having just one more." Buffalo sauces are good. We tried their Sweet Tots with season salt for the first time tonight and loved them. If Napoleon Dynamite had these Tots, he would have defended them more vigorously, I'm sure. The garlic fries are also excellent. Portions, prices, and quality make for good reasons to keep coming back. read more

The chicken here is awesome. I love wings and it's pretty much the only place in town that is quick and to go. They have a variety of sauces you can choose from. However, if you like your wings actually tossed in the sauce make sure you specify that you want them tossed. Otherwise they will just give you the sauce as a dipping sauce. They also don't give you ranch on the side, you have to pay extra for it. Anytime you see "shack" in the title, you know it's going to be delicious, no-frills, down-home comfort food--and that's exactly what we got! The owner was nice and accommodating, and the food was outstanding! The fried chicken had a unique, crispy breading that we're still dreaming about, and the sides could all stand on their own--especially the mac and cheese and those collard greens! Well this is the second time I've ever been to chicken shack and I don't know if the snotty girl that took my order on the phone/cash register is such a shinning example of customer service especially to someone who is not very familiar with their menu, all I ordered was two burgers one with cheese and without and I didn't expect it to be such an inconvenience to her, and the order was wrong she said ten mins for my take out order I left right away and my food was cold and cheese on both and if I wasn't restricted to I would have just eaten it, but instead I threw it away and decided I didn't want to go back and deal with such a rude young girl again. I love chicken wings and after hearing all of the rave reviews about this place I just had to try them out. Their sauces are good but I was very disappointed in the wings. I ordered mine naked since I do not eat anything breaded. The sauce comes on the side which I wish I had known but was not informed of by the girl at the counter. I prefer wings that are tossed in sauce. The wings were also puny. For the price they charge for wings, you'd think they would be of suitable size. The Chicken Shack is one of the best restaurants in Klamath Falls in my opinion. They have multiple big screen televisions so you can watch the game and eat your food. It's a pretty big space so it gives everyone room to walk around and hangout with friends. The chicken wings and strips are never fried too long and they are tossed with the right amount of sauce most of the time. They have a good variety of beers to choose from (imported and domestic). While paying for your order at the counter, their iPad asks you for a tip amount. Seems premature to ask for a tip when all we have done is stand in line and order. I hope they rethink the gratuity request. But if you are looking for crunchy, juicy chicken breast strips, meaty wings with your choice of a dozen good sauces, and hot, skinny fries --this is your place. I used up 2 days' worth of calories in one visit. They also serve wraps, salads and burgers--plus a variety of sides. Heard good things about the BBQ beans and potato salad, but haven't tried them myself. They give you a number to put on your table so they can deliver your food. I told the counter person we would be on the patio. (The patio is delightful on a summer evening in Klamath Falls.) But the server made a point to tell me that it took awhile to find us because I chose to sit out there. They have some tightening up to do in their protocol.
