The Chocolate Factory was recommended to me and I only have regrets for not trying it sooner! I come here most often for the sandwiches because I work in the area but the ice cream flavors are always quite tempting. Sandwiches are perfectly sized, made with soft bread, filled with fresh ingredients although I'll usually opt for a mini version of the sandwich and pair it with a cup of soup (multiple soup options daily!). I've yet to have a sandwich here that I didn't thoroughly enjoy and I always check the monthly specials too. I appreciate the condiment bar filled with pickles, black olives and various peppers to add some extra spice to my sandwiches, including small to-go containers. The yummy ice cream offered is Maggie Moo's and is priced by weight, with different flavors offered at each Chocolate Factory location. It's always so easy to pace a pick up order over the phone and pay when I get into the store. The blackberry turkey never misses. The sweet ham with the vinegary peppers are such a good combo. I recently tried their November special, the holiday bird. It was not as good. The turkey could use some seasoning. The stuffing was delicious and so was the cranberry mayo. Date of visit: July 27, 2025 I have many fond memories of The Chocolate Factory back when their locations were plentiful around the Milwaukee area, but it had been years since I had visited one as they retreated to the outer suburbs and became a bit less accessible to me. So when some friends suggested meeting up there, I was sold on the idea immediately! This location is bright and airy, a far cry from the lovably dingy location I used to visit at the old Prospect Mall. Staff is young and fun, and I was able to get a shake of any flavor I wanted, which is really my ideal dessert. This place can get busy fast, so study the menu early to maximize your time. After my trip to IKEA and planning to eat at the restaurant I found that the restaurant was still closed so I had to make different lunch plans. TCF was a mile away and I could go for a sub sandwich so I went over. I ordered the Sicilian sub with everything to go because because I'm now trained to get takeout. The place is basically an ice cream and sandwich shop in that new Oak Creek shopping/living property next to Meijer. The Sicilian sub was tasty and I really like the contrast with the warm toasted bread vs the fresh cold meats and veggies. The bread was very fresh with a nice toasted crust. Lunch today was a carry-out of two of their subs of the month "The Great Harvest Moon Sub". Got home and found that the sandwich maker used aioli type mayo instead of the advertised Honey Mayo and sliced red onions instead of the advertised Crispy Onions. Also they scrimped on the Granny Smith apple slices. Not the end of the world but having had the subs properly prepared in the past (at the Elm Grove location) we were disappointed. read more

Had a good sub with pulled pork on a recent visit, and then also followed it up with ice cream. I love that you can try ice cream before you buy, here, and the list of staff favorites is helpful and fun! My parents love taking my niece and nephew here for subs and ice cream, since they live in Oak Creek. I'm more a fan of the Chocolate Factory's Pewaukee location as far as stellar service, but the young staffers working here are A-Okay. read more

I used to frequent the West Bend location all the time, so when I moved to Oak Creek and saw there was a Chocolate Factory here too I was so excited. I mean, the Phoenix is amazing! They have punch cards, for every sandwhich you buy you get a punch except on Wednesdays you get 2 punches per sandwhich. And when full you get a free sandwhich. I visited a little over a week ago and was filling my card to get a free sandwhich on my next visit, but the girl at the register accidently punched the "free sandwhich" in addition to my final punch needed. So when I went back I explained what happened to the cashier, her name was Hannah and had blue colored hair. Well, Hannah decided to argue with me in front of everyone waiting in line, and accused me of trying to cheat them. Multiple times I tried to clarify, but she kept insisting I was attempting to use a card that had already been used. Finally, she replied "I'll do it just this time." still insinuating that I was trying to cheat them. She was so concentrated on arguing with me that she didn't even bother to ask if I wanted my order for dine-in or to-go. So naturally when my order was called, they had my sundae melted in a glass from sitting out while they made the sandwhich. When I told them it was to-go, they thankfully remade the sundae but Hannah comes over and pushes it towards me while avoiding eye contact. If a single one of my sales reps that I managed ever treated a customer this way, they'd be out looking for a new job faster than you can say, "Double Punch Wednesdays" I emailed the "contact us" email on their website, but since I haven't heard back clearly customer service is not a priority for this small chain. They've lost a longtime and frequent customer. And the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the phoenix was my favorite. read more

We have always loved Chocolate Factory subs. They are my husband's favorites. After visiting the now closed downtown shop and the Elm Grove shop we knew what to expect and we were not disappointed. The bread is delicious and the meats and toppings are quality. The subs at this location stood up to our expectations. The one thing they have that is hard to find anywhere else is the phosphates. They are refreshing and thirst quenching. They taste like a shake but are light and frothy. I even can get the staff to make me an egg creme. But I only ask when they are not very busy. The shop looks clean and fresh and it's a very cheery place. The staff is wonderful, very helpful and accommodating. My only knock is that they seem to get a little frazzled when the place gets busy. My suggestion for them is to relax, if the line is long our expectation is that we will have to wait. The prices are a little high but the subs are quite large-so happy they offer a mini. As for the ice cream, I've found since it's pay by the ounce that the best thing to do is order it that way. So instead of asking for a scoop, I ask for 3 ounces - then I get just a little ice cream with a price that is within reason. We will be regulars at this location. read more

I love taking my family to The Chocolate Factory. The subs are always great and the ice cream is our favorite. The one complaint I have is the staff can be unfriendly at times. I've never had a problem with the guys there- some of the best service we get anywhere. There are just a couple of other workers that tend to have poor attitudes that really being the mood down. I really have to play my luck when going there, not knowing what kind of service I'll get. One person who sticks out to me is a girl with blue hair who is always a bit crabby. She never smiles, never makes eye contact, and I never get a "thank you" or "have a nice day". I've overheard her talk poorly about the customers too which thankfully, her coworkers ignore. Like I said, the food here is great, but there are times where we have to think about wether or not to come because of the way we might be treated. I would love to see this be fixed so that every other customer and I can have a positive experience every time. read more

We were really disappointed in the flavor selection and the flavors that sounded good were almost empty and I personally don't like ice cream that has to be scraped out of the bottom to make a scoop. It was definitely unappealing. I tried the Birthday Cake and my daughter tried the Chocolate. My husband passed as nothing appealed to him. I got him a chocolate chip cookie instead. I HATED the Birthday cake...it had a bland flavor that was not good. I'd rather have had vanilla I think...though I can't imagine how that would have tasted. My daughter did not like her chocolate either. She ordered 1 scoop and didn't even eat it all. The cookie....was HORRIBLE! One bite and it was left on the table. My daughter and I both tried it.
