What a hidden gem! Food was excellent and fresh. My kids loved their fried food baskets. I tried a little of everything: chowder was unique, delicious and filling. The chili with onions and cheese was surprisingly (and perfectly) spicy. Tuna salad was fresh and tasty. It came with a healthy amount of dressing! My dad had a patty melt and said it was good. Rude servers ! I'm writing to express my deep disappointment with the customer service my family and I received during our recent visit. In over 40 years of dining out, this experience ranks among the worst. We arrived hoping to enjoy a couple of Bloody Marys at the bar or outside while our children waited on the patio with my daughter-in-law. Unfortunately, we were told by a server--rather curtly--that no drinks would be served until we were seated at a table. While we tried to remain understanding, her tone and attitude were unnecessarily rude. Shortly after, another group of six longtime patrons (with over 30 years of loyalty to your business) arrived and attempted to enjoy a beer while waiting outside. They were also treated disrespectfully, with one of the servers raising her voice and refusing to serve them in an unprofessional manner. At that point, our group of seven--including two children--felt unwelcome and unappreciated, so we chose to leave. I attempted to speak calmly with the younger of the two servers to better understand the situation. While she acknowledged she may have been a bit harsh and attempted to correct her behavior, the damage had already been done. It's truly disappointing to see loyal patrons treated this way. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address the importance of respectful customer service with your staff. Experiences like this can have a lasting impact on a business's reputation. On Christmas Eve around 5pm my wife and I googled this place to see if it was open. Online said it was open so we made the 40 minute drive to go here for the first time. I have heard good things. Well, it was closed. If they can't spend the time to update the hours for holidays online then I would imagine there are many other holes they are leaving unfilled in this establishment. The handler asks her why she is being that way because since we arrived she has been nothing but rude to us (since she found out we had a service dog) she then told him that his SHORTS were also out a little too much. She said it wasn't enough room for her to pass by. Approximately 6-7 feet space but ok. We're still browsing and she is still there exchanging words with the handler and extremely rude! It's no way to treat customers much less any human being. I then ask if we can get another waitress or speak to the manager which to then she said she didn't care and left and brought back a phone that had the name Nylah she said it was the owner. I started to tell Nylah what was going on and Raquel didn't like what I was saying and snatched back the phone. An entire altercation of words were exchanged, the other girl there was telling Raquel to stop and go to the back and she refused. Raquel got in my face & told us to get out. I'm disgusted with this entire situation. She discriminated against the service dog & our party. I'm used to have the servers noticing that your drinks are empty or almost empty and they'll refill right away. When you ask for refill it takes a while before the server returns with it. I ordered the chowder burger and I ate the whole thing! It was delicious. My friends ordered the grilled swordfish burger, salad, and a bowl each of the clam chowder. They had to take half of their burgers, soup and salad home. This place seems to have regular customers. It was quite noisy and we had a difficult time carrying on our own conversations. They automatically add 3.5% charge for using credit cards. So if you're paying cash make sure you deduct that surcharge. Overall, it's a place worth returning to with your friends. read more

Fisherman Platter [Fried Fish, Breaded Shrimp, and Fried Clams served with French Fries & Coleslaw] the seafood was perfect, but let me tell you - I was full and I still couldn't resist a few extra fries. So it was my first time here because I am not a fish eater but have been opening up to different things lately. Wow! The food was amazing. I ended up ordering the fish and chips, which I never tried, and it was amazing. Not sure what kind of fish it was but it had a great taste. The plate came with steak fries which were perfect and not too salty. I paired it with a captain of Bud Light and it was so refreshing, ice cold. I tried the clam chowder, also a first, and it was delicious. There were hidden clams inside and that was good too. The coolest part about this place is that it is a floating cafe. It is located on the water and the view is pretty cool with all the boats in the background. Inside the cafe, there's a lot of cool decorations all in tribute to the sea. Definitely will be back because I want to try the Fisherman's platter and also to enjoy a nice cold beer. P.S. shout out to all waitresses!!! The clam chowder is the best around and how they implement other items (such as a burger) into the clam chowder... incredible. I'm a big fan. And if you eat here too often, you'll be big, too. This ain't health food. In fact, it's about as far from health food as you can get. But it's delicious. Clam chowder? Delicious. Burgers? Big, juicy and terrific. Giant burger thrown in the middle of a giant bowl of clam chowder (the chowder burger)? Well, it's a heart attack waiting to happen but what a way to go. Add a dash of Cholula or Tabasco, if you like. The fish and chips was perfectly cooked and also outstanding. The setting is charming. You're literally on the water. The interior has all sorts of nautical knick-knacks strewn about. There is seating outside, too. Service is down-home attentive, friendly and welcoming. Kids are welcome despite the signs everywhere warning parents to watch their kids. There are a handful of menu selections specifically for kids, including a burger with fries that is big enough to satisfy most adults. Plenty of free parking in the lot just a few steps from the restaurant. Follow the signs to the lot and you cannot get lost. More cholesterol than you need in a lifetime but great comfort food. It was a big plate of a cheeseburger on brioche buns swimming in Claw Chowder! It was sooo good but I didn't finish it.
