I usually don't write bad reviews on here but my experience was horrible. I've come here before and never have issues but for the last couple of weeks, it has been horrible. This Saturday everything took forever to come out. The server was never at my table and when the food did come, it didn't come out all together. To go orders seems to be very popular there and the only thing they cared about. On top of that, the prices increase a lot! How is something once $10 and then jump to $14?? Not sure who is running the place but they need to fix some things if they want people to keep coming. Do better. read more

Tucked back in a little shopping center it doesn't look like much ...we were passing through and decided to stop. The only problem I find with this place is that I don't live closer it was surprisingly fantastic the churro waffle was amazing as well as the Chilequiles!!! Nice atmosphere modern style but still has that hole in the wall feel I will definitely be back!! The best waffle I've ever eaten in my life! The signature churro waffle is perfectly crispy on the outside while fluffy and moist on the inside. The sprinkle of cinnamon sugar topped with sea salt caramel ice cream makes this delectable treat a must-have for dessert or on its own. Took note from another Yelper and added apple cinnamon compote as an extra topping and it made the waffle over-the-top good. Pretty large portion size so I shared with my husband who had the butcher skillet (he said it was one of the best he's had, even if the peppers and onions aren't diced like he's used to). I had the chorizo eggs Benedict and loved it, but he didn't. The potato hash that comes with the eggs Benedict was a little soggy, but that could be because I didn't eat it right away. English toffee coffee is superb - haven't found a good cup of the same since I left Canada! Service is quick and friendly, and they have paperless menus to keep everyone safe. Tried this place this afternoon and was very happy I did. I had the Pepper Jack burger which had a perfect balance of spiciness for me from the pepper jack cheese and the roasted poblano pepper. I ordered it "medium" and it came well-done but that was the only mis-step here. Very good fries came with the sandwich. My partner had the breakfast enchiladas which were wrapped in egg whites instead of tortillas. They looked great and my partner said that they were as good as they looked. The hash browns that accompanied them were well-browned and very good as well. And, the coffee was excellent. Next time I'll have the Churro Waffle. read more

I must have ordered the wrong dish, as I was really disappointed! I came here on a Monday for lunch with my husband. I ordered the chopped salad with steak while my husband ordered the breakfast burrito. The chopped salad with steak was $15. It's a little pricey for what you get. The salad was overdressed and it felt like it was all the items from a taco toppings bar. Shredded lettuce, beans, corn, bacon, a lot of tomatoes... The dressing didn't have a lot of flavor either. I truly felt that I was eating some sort of American pasta salad without the pasta. I would not recommend ordering this salad. On the other hand, I had a bite of my husband's breakfast burrito! So tasty and full of flavor! It's also really dense! My husband could only finish half of it and took the other half home. I'll have to come back and try one of their breakfast dishes, like the Chorizo waffle or Churro waffle. read more

Found this place on Yelp; what a great breakfast spot. Free parking in the lot in front; no reservations but arrived around 11 am on a Saturday and there was a bunch of people waiting for a table. Our wait was quick, 10-15 minutes because there was only 2 of us. We both ordered skillet bowls, the Butcher and the Chorizo. Large serving, that includes also potatoes and either a side of toast or 2 large pancakes. Unlimited coffee is always a bonus. I was impressed with the attentive service, the food of course, and the woman's bathroom. It smelled so good, pumpkin spice, and was clean and rustic/modern decor. It was a nice looking bathroom. The place is family friendly and good for groups. We were so full from our entrees that we didn't order the churro waffle, but will be coming back to try it. read more

WHAT AN ENORMOUS DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! After seeing Hot and New, the early positive reviews, and the tantalizing pictures, I was excited to give it a shot. The service was brutal. It took forever for our server to first get to our table, forever to get the food, and we could never track him down in the small restaurant. Further, the food came out room temperature and not once were we asked how the food was. I got 3 eggs over medium (which although room temperature, they were indeed cooked over medium), bacon (poor quality), asked for my hash browns extra crispy/well done (not even close to well done), and the pancakes (which tasted fine, but again room temperature, and I had to remind the server that the meal came with pancakes). My son asked for the signature Churro Waffle. According to him it was a very ordinary waffle with some cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top. He did not care for the caramel ice cream that came on it, though I tasted the ice cream and thought it was fine. Also, one of the draws for me was that I noticed in the pictures it was in a strip mall with parking. Good luck getting a spot. I couldn't wait any longer and paid for street parking. read more

My husband got the churro batter waffle and thought they were very good. I got the special - pumpkin waffles, opting out on the butter pecan ice cream that otherwise comes with them. They were, unfortunately, room temperature when they arrived. Even though I left the ice cream off. they were still way too sweet between the cinnamon syrup and candied pecans they were on them. If I had to do it over, I'd opt for a classic waffle, preferably warm enough to melt the butter a little! Overall a good experience for the rest of our family. Would rate it 3&1/2 stars. read more

This place was our go to a few times a month and then tragedy struck (fire). So happy when they reopened. A few weeks ago we stopped on a Saturday for brunch. We had 6 in our party, wait was minimal to be seated and service was on point. Everything came out perfect and just as ordered. Stopped yesterday for a bite before shopping. I had the apple cinnamon waffles, it was absolutely delicious and my wife had the el jardin omelette which was very good. I would definitely go back and try some of the other dishes. I got the fajita omelette paired with steak and pancakes quality of the steak was terrible really bland felt like I was chewing on gum seemed they didn't bother to season it at all don't spend that extra 4$ on the steak definitely not worth it besides that pancakes were good and the omelette itself after I picked the steak out was pretty good read more
