The Cider Mill is a Syracuse gem. A great spot for a celebratory dinner or when you're in the mood for a relaxing, satisfying meal. Their menu is seasonal and you can tell the ingredients are sourced with care. They have menu indicators for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free (I wish every restaurant would). The service is always spot on, friendly, and knowledgeable. This visit I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup and gluten free riggies which I've never had! The soup was perfect and creamy and I ate every drop. Then I was served a *giant* plate of delicious pasta. The spice of the sauce was perfect and they put over an inch of fresh Parmesan on top. I included a picture of this glorious cheese cross section. My friend's wagyu burger was perfectly cooked. Everything about this meal felt like they were generously doling out food in a "here have some more I made it from scratch" kind of way. This place isnt flashy or trendy, but warm and inviting. It's the quality of food, drink, and service that make it worthy of attention. The prices are reasonable and there's always something new and delicious to try. Grateful to have such a great local spot.

Love it here! I love coming here for drinks, appetizers and dinner. We've been here many times. There is plenty of seating inside, at the bar, and on their outdoor patio. The servers are friendly and nice. And the food is always delicious and friendly made. Everything I've tried here has been incredible and flavorful. I recommend coming here if you're looking for a relaxing dinner that will be amazing!

Parking can be difficult at times when it is busy, but the food is good, service is good, and the atmosphere is homey. This is a less formal take on fine dining with a variety of options, but limited hours.

I am updating my review as The Cider Mill has become one of my favorite local restaurants. The service is always excellent from the minute you walk in the door. The menu, which changes seasonally, always has plenty of variety and it's difficult to choose between dishes. I have never had a dish here that I didn't like. In the summer, the patio is a great spot for outdoor dining and they even have fans to keep it cool. If I could give 6 stars I would.

My bestie and I wanted to find a place that had gluten-free items that I would enjoy, and that we could have a nice dinner while I was visiting. When I came across the Summer menu for The Cider Mill, my mouth watered. After reading a few items to my bestie, we knew we had to give this place a try, and we were so glad that we did. We made reservations for 6:30pm and barely made it on time due to traffic. We were sat right away. Our wait staff was excellent. I ordered the honey glazed carrots, they came on a bed of whipped goat's cheese. They were cooked to perfection! For my main, I ordered to Riggies, gluten-free. I hadn't ever heard of Riggies before, and knew I had to give it a try. The Riggies were a perfect balance or flavor and spice. The serving size was HUGE! Not only did I eat it that night, but for the next two days my bestie and I continued to eat it. We will definitely be back! I love how they change their menu seasonally.

Always great service, ambience and food! A small group of us gathered on 8/6 for dinner. I had the pan seared salmon, and dove in before I took a picture. It had been plated beautifully! The salmon comes with a cherry chipotle Demi; I asked it be served on the side. Good thing - it's got some heat! The salmon was crispy outside, moist inside and yummy. The asparagus was tender crisp. The lemon risotto was fabulous - wish I'd had an extra serving for breakfast today! Highly recommend the Cider Mill! I've been coming here for years, and have never had a bad meal.

The Cider Mill is my go-to anniversary and special occasion spot because of how delicious and decadent the food always is. They offer a seasonal menu, and they always have the freshest bread baked in house! I believe it is truly to die for. My picture is from the summer menu. The scallops were tender and tasty. The steak was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri was fresh. The service is always attentive and courteous, and the ambiance is intimate. Please check out this gem on Fay Road in Onondaga.

I can't believe I've never been here before. I live five minutes away... Really nice ambience to the place. Greeted by a friendly hostess and shown to our table. Interesting menu...a choice for most kind of eaters... Our waitress, Amy was really friendly and incredibly efficient. Thanks Amy... Our starters included crab Rangoon dip, mushroom Flatbread squash wontons. Wonton were crispy with a delicate flavour. Flatbread was big enough for a main course and delicious. Crab Rangoon tasted exactly how one would imagine it to taste..excellent. For entrees there was the thickest ny strip I've ever seen..really good...salmon..very delicate...short ribs..utterly succulent... A very good bottle of house red. We had two small children with us and there was no problem with booster seats and there's a dedicated kids menu. The creme brulee and the chocolate mousse really are to die for. Fine dining in a slightly more relaxed atmosphere. Earns every one of its 5 stars. If you haven't been, go!

Amazing restaurant with such flavorful food. I had the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, and it was absolutely delicious. It was a bit noisy inside, so I would recommend eating outside if possible. The wait staff was very nice:) Overall, be of the best restaurants in CNY, and even though it is a bit pricey, it is well worth it.

This restaurant is absolutely phenomenal. First, we were seated right away which was nice because we had a reservation. When we were seated, we were served water immediately and started looking at the menu when we realized they sell fresh bread by the loaf! We had to get one to take home with us. They have many different kinds of sourdough and focaccia bread. Our appetizer and dinner were beyond expectations. Service was great and we loved the dimly lit atmosphere. Safe to say we will be back soon! Thank you Cider Mill!

The Cider Mill has some of the best food in town paired with the best service around and a lovely outdoor dining set up. Everything about our meal was incredible. A beautiful evening outside on the patio. A tasty cider I've never tried before. The wonderful complimentary focaccia bread. A great brussel sprouts appetizer with a perfect cook and fun flavoring. A delightful Cesar side salad. The mahi mahi fish of the day was wonderful with perfectly cooked potatoes and asparagus. The Riggies were a perfectly el-dente cook with a wonderful sauce. I got it with the spicy sausage which was incredible. We got the cherry pie with graham cracker crust dessert and it was the perfect way to end our meal. Such an easy place to recommend and with this being the current summer menu there were so many more things we wanted to try. Seems like you can't go wrong here. Take in all you can with the great food, great atmosphere and awesome service when you go. Enjoy!

If the Cider Mill was an old-time Muscle Car, I'd say it's unquestionably bangin' on all eight! They've got everything gong for them - exceptional atmosphere, great menu selection, inventive specials, fabulous drink options, good service, and (of course) excellent food! Give this place a try if you're in the neighborhood - I wouldn't be surprised if they totally Wow you!

They have a wide range of meal and drink options, with most items sounding appetizing. My husband and I both got lavender drinks; him a lavender marg, and I a lavender lemonade. They were very syrupy, which made it hard to finish the drinks, even though they the flavor was great. We got garlic bread as an app, and it was much more greasy than one would expect. But it was still very tasty. Only down side was that the grease weighted down our stomachs, so it was hard to finish the entrees. Dinner was very good; I had the six cheeses mac n cheese, and Ryan got fish n chips. Both were a good portion for the price, which is always nice. Again, it wasn't a bad experience! I just wasn't blown away/ i didnt feel that I need to go back in the future.

We've eaten here a bunch - mostly due to proximity and lack of other options. The food is wildly…read moreinconsistent; sometimes, we're surprised at how good a dish is (usually a special or seasonal dish), but if we order it again, it's never the same. The biggest issues: - Many things seem to have a lot of oil involved. From the side vegetables to the burgers to the "garlic bread" served on the side of the pasta dishes - there's a strong, oily taste. It's not a pleasant oil - my guess is it's ostensibly neutral, like a vegetable or canola, though it leaves a flavor that suggests it's not entirely neutral. Perhaps a fake butter? Why it's so ubiquitous is anyone's guess, but it leaves an unpleasant film in your mouth. While I understand restaurants use a lot more oil/butter than home cooking (it's often why we like restaurant food better), this oil is not good. - The fries. I guess some people like them; I loved shoestring fries as a kid, but these aren't the same. They have no flavor (aside from the aforementioned oil), and they're the consistency of McDonald's fries, but drier and harder. Recently, we got an order that came with a new, more traditional style fry, and they were so good. We were excited that they finally ditched the cardboard variety but that apparently was a one-off - today showed that they seemed to revert to the old style, unfortunately. - They had an amazing chicken bacon ranch pizza for a while, until one day when it was gone. I think the secret was smoked Gouda, but whatever they used, it was a great pizza. When it disappeared from the menu, I inquired and was told, "oh yeah, lots of people are asking for that." So I said, "is it coming back, then?" I was told it's "doubtful," which kinda sums up my experiences there. Everyone loved it and wants it back? Better get rid of it, then. - The kids menu options are somewhat insulting to children. The "grilled cheese" uses what appear to be hamburger buns, so carelessly made that they seldom match up (that is, the top will be skewed off so the sandwich isn't put together). The kids pasta dishes are just plain noodles, usually undercooked, with no seasoning (i.e. salt) or other attention to preparation. The inconsistency is really the biggest issue for me. Things range from "fine" to "bad," but even if you stick with one menu item, you don't know what you're going to get. Non-chain, family-friendly restaurants are seemingly hard to find in this area, so I really wish they were better. We've kept at this place far longer than we probably should, again due to convenience, and because every now and then, a dish will be surprisingly good. However, those instances are becoming so rare, I think we're done for a good while. I do hope they improve.
