When we walked in there were only a couple people which was nice. Not over crowded and we were able to get our drinks super quick. The girl at the register (MJ) greeted us as we came in and was super friendly the whole time. She advised they were out of a certain product that would make their official "Vietnamese coffee" so she made one special for my bf. I got a pacific coast ice tea with a pump of peach jasmine, (sadly this combo is messed up more often than not) but MJ nailed it and my drink taste amazing! I don't usually write reviews but I'm tired of spending my money and getting disappointed. It took a lot of courage for me to actually write this because I don't want to sound mean or rude. I used to come to this location a lot and it's changed a lot in the last year or two. First, the workers are really unfriendly and unhappy. Fine, not that big of a deal if my drinks ever came out the way they are supposed to. Two, from the person on the register to the people making your drinks, it's all always wrong. I used to be a barista, so I understand that the person on register rings up YOUR correct order first and I find myself always correcting them on my order so that it's rung up correctly first so the person on bar makes it correctly. Austin is probably the only person who can makes drinks properly. The proper ratios of ice, milk, powder, everything. I think ellora and Jenn have potential because they're friendly and try to accommodate us, but my drinks that I'm spending $6-$8 on, ALWAYS end up nasty and unfinished. But their service is the best compared to the rest of the team. Then, I spoke to one of the workers, who I'll keep anonymous because I don't want them to lose their job. But they gave me attitude for asking them to correct my drink that they messed up on and instead of being nice about it, they talked badly and rolled their eyes. Just because I don't work at coffee bean, doesn't mean I don't know when it's right or wrong. We know... especially because we've been coming there for years before you guys even started working there. I miss the old team with the other manager. They were always on beat, no matter how busy and chaotic it was, my drinks that I'm spending MY money on, always ended up right. Pretty chill atmosphere. A bit packed and after a 10 min wait i found a table for the wifi. It was a bit slow or maybe it was my connection. I had a brownie and a tropical passion ice tea. I've been going here for the past 10+ years, which says a lot about a business. As a regular, I've gotten to know the employees and the manager, who, by the way, is an Army Veteran who served tours in Iraq. The employees are awesome with fast and friendly service and are very helpful when I want to try something new. I especially love all the available parking and it's close to everything else. No complaints here.....except for one review from Dean S. First of all, so sorry to hear about your situation with the fires. Totally sucks. But here's my take on your encounter, if you have a medical situation that prevents you from wearing a mask.....why couldn't you sit in your vehicle while your wife went in and got you something instead of putting your health at risk and the employees and other customers? After all.....it's just a latte....and you chose to put your health and others at risk.....for a latte. Makes absolutely no sense at all. Your behavior was extremely inconsiderate. Your accusation about the manager being rude was exaggerated. You CLEARLY seemed to get excited wanting to put someone in their place because of your "medical condition". At least that's what I got from it, since I was there. She DID try to "equally accommodate" you, per CCC 51(b). She actually tried to go above and beyond for you, but you weren't appreciative. Dear Coffee Bean, Thank you for being there on the days in which I cannot seem to keep my eyes open. The AM Team has to be the sweetest ever. (I never visit after 11am, so I'm not sure about the later shift crew) They work so well together, and they get the crowd moving quickly. Great customer service, great ambiance and a great staff. I want to thank Brandon for remembering exactly how I like my drink, and for having it ready before I make it to the front of the line to order/pay. (The morning supervisor -Alicia- gal is super sweet too, she has the cutest/hottest accent.) (Levie (lah-vey) is one of the girls there super adorable and sweet. If Brandon isn't there, I'm glad when she is.) they're both my favorites! The other staff is friendly, and always seem to be in a great mood. I really like how they remember the "regulars" . I am greeted by name which is pretty cool, I feel like I am officially part of... well part of something, I am not sure of what yet?. This location has a great seating area. Inside: usually occupied by people on laptops. Outside patio: Comfortable seating area. It has a somewhat backyard- feel to it. The outside patio is usually occupied by old dudes having book-reading-meet-ups/ bible studies or just chatting away (not sure if I should use the term "chatting" for men). It has a family feel to it in away. You can easily find yourself making conversation, or greeting the others around. It may be the caffeine high. The location is perfect, has tons of parking space, and it is in a shopping center where you can shop/eat/hangout. Anyhow, I love this place and the staff! Music inside is too loud. I love music but if you want to enjoy conversations with your girlfriend or and study its probably better to go to Starbucks or a local coffee shop nearby. Its a shame because Coffee Bean has the best Caramel Americanos. Alright, I admit this is not the best of the best coffee. But News flash... Starbucks isn't that great either (when we're talking about quality) . These companies are the "fast food" of coffee....which I don't mind. If you really want good coffee then you go to a privately owned coffee house...check out any of the coffee places on 4th or Broadway. Anyhow...when I go to these "fast food" coffee places I don't need the red carpet "Hello! How's your day?? I love you!" from the employees. I just want to order and go about my day. For the people complaining about the WiFi or the place being noisy or not enough outlets ..... In case you didn't notice, this is a coffee place NOT A LIBRARY OR STUDY HALL. How about you take that somewhere else & let the people that actually just want to sit & have their drink & leave. I absolutely love, love, LOVE their tea lattes!!!! For the longest time I was obsessed with the chai latte. I commonly referred to it as "nectar of the gods." However, I'm not stalking the pomegranate blueberry latte. It is seriously to-die-for!!! This location is really small, but they're fast and efficient. The last time I stopped in, I got my tea in literally 60 seconds. It was amazing! I had time to turn around, look at one "for purchase" mug, and then my drink was up. Stellar skills! read more

First off, understanding that we're all biased in our own favor, I'm going to do my best to present what happened in the most fair-minded way possible. With that, the guy (Not sure of name. Seemed to be in training) who took my order was polite, and the drinks were very good. Thanks for that. Second, I love Coffee Bean. The atmosphere is great. Coffee is so much better than Starbucks. And the ice is AMAZING! Beyond that, what a terrible horrible [insert all the other synonymous adjectives] experience! (Sadly, I can't reference the individual staff members by name, as a number of them didn't have visible badges, and I can't even say who exactly was speaking to me all the time, as there was more than one person speaking but with their masks on, so I couldn't tell who exactly was doing the talking). So, I walk in without a mask on (Oh, no! End of the world! We're all going to die!), and upon one of staff's asking if I had a mask, I said "No" and asked if they had an extra. She said, "No." To this, I asked if it would be okay if I put my shirt over my nose, and either her or one of the other women said it was okay. As I wait to place my order, another woman walks up and says something like, "Excuse me. You need a mask." I point out that my nose and mouth are covered and then mention the shop full of customers sitting but not "actively eating or drinking" (per state and county guidelines). She told the guy who I think was in-training that he could take my order but that I would have to wait outside, then turns around and says, "Just trying to keep everyone safe. ([Biased statement alert] I guess she saw fit to publicly shame the bad BAD man w/ a shirt over his nose, while everyone sitting down also w/o masks were fine and dandy to be inside. It's truly amazing how sitting on one's rear-end renders them perfectly safe from the terrors of breathing). I placed my order (and gave a 20% tip, because the guy who took my order was great...I sure hope he gets it directly and that it's not pooled) and went directly outside. A few minutes later, that same guy gives me the thumbs up that my drinks are ready, so I put my shirt over my nose and go inside. As soon as I step inside the doorway one of the women behind the counter called out, "Wait outside! We'll bring it out to you!" It's at that point I had enough and ignored what she said and went straight up to the counter and explained (while keeping my shirt over my nose) that I wasn't trying to be difficult, but I didn't understand why I was being singled out for not having a mask on when there was a shop full of people not wearing masks, and they were certainly not "actively eating or drinking per state guidelines." Moreover, I pointed out that the sign on the door that showed the acceptable face coverings clearly showed a handkerchief and shirt(?)--neck gaiter(?)-- I don't know, but the shirt is much thicker. At this point, she said that those sitting are following the rules and told me to leave. I reiterated that they were clearly NOT following the rules and that it was offensive (not that offense has anything to do with the reality of the situation) how they would single me out while holding a double-standard for everyone else. They all stopped speaking at that point, so I accepted my drinks from another girl (who was standing beside me at that point), thanked them, and walked out. I can understand after 2 years of Simon-Says Covid mandates that no one has any idea what's going on, and we've all become mindless drones responding to Emperor Newsome's capricious edicts, but how about before arbitrarily enforcing certain inane Covid policies and ignoring others you make sure that they're logically consistent? (By the way, only N95/KN95 and surgical grade masks have proven to provide any protection -- which is why the CA recently changed the guidelines for workers -- so even though those cloth masks, neck gaiters, handkerchiefs, and silly masks with a vent on the side may be a nice security blanket, they don't do diddlysquat). read more

I honestly don't know what's up with the location. I've visited multiple times the last couple of days and the staff is super rude. That being said, they must not like people in the military. I would have gave this location 1 star but I like the coffee. The customer services here is TERRIBLE. When I enter, I NEVER get a nice greeting and smile like at Starbucks. When I come to the counter, I NEVER get a "hi, how are you?" Like at Starbucks. Hell, when I get my order I can't even get a thank you, LIKE AT STARBUCKS! I come here often and EVERY time I have to tell the employees at the register how rude they are. If you want to compete with Starbucks then INVEST IN CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASSES FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES! Came here after a long day of work for some tea. The place looked ran sacked. There were no pastries put out ok and the refrigerator section was sparse and dirty. One of the employees complained they are only given 15 min to get the place open. Terrible customer service and I will not be returning. They need an overhaul on employees. Get people that are appreciative, courteous and kind. read more

Great community study spot. Free wifi. A big wooden table that seats up to 8 with outlets to match. Mucho parking. Outside patio with heaters. Has restroom. Friendly workers. This is my go to spot to study in long beach. Its near grocery stores. Its near the bank. Regular sized Iced Americano with vanilla & milk. That is all. Enough caffeine to kick start your day or bring you up after a long day at school or work. *oh an just a tip. Always get your drinks "to go". To the cute gay couple who insist on giving each of their 5 dogs a chair to sleep on, leaving the rest of us with nowhere to sit - it's rude and inconsiderate...no matter how much money you spend, it's not your living room. To the supreme douchetank who is ALWAYS there - long dark wavy hair, talking on your phone or to your friend so everyone can hear your pointless conversations about "epic nights" and "fuck yeah, brah!" moments of glory - you make what chairs ARE left over that the dogs aren't occupying unpleasant. To the LBPD and CHP who frequent the place, thanks for your service, but turn your damned squad cars off! It's wasteful and pollutes unnecessarily when you sit there for 30 minutes chatting and drinking coffee while your car sits running in the parking lot. read more

This Coffee Bean is like an old friend that you dont see as often as you'd like and when you do, you wonder why you dont meet up more often. I'll go through stages where i come here a lot, and then i wont. Whats cool about this place is that the same handful of people ahve worked here for the past 3 or 4 years, it seems like. They are really friendly and helpful and it has a real community feel to it (considering its a chain). They always make the drinks just right and are pretty fast as well. The one or two times i asked them to remake a drink they ere very gracious about it. I love the outside seating cause the people watching here is GREAT!
