My go-to CBTL as it's less than 5 minutes away. All the baristas always make it feel like home and online pre-order's always my preference given how busy it's throughout the day. They open pretty early and close relatively late enough. Plenty of seats to sit and work so long as you don't mind background noise both from music and other guests chatting. Drinks are decent for chain coffee, I guess I needn't tell much as you likely have tried anyway. My usual is their Hazelnut Iced Americano, both classic and recently hyped dry one with cream and caramel drizzle. read more

Ahhh, came in today with a goal of alleviating or at least neutralizing the damage but had to get the extreme pumpkin ice blended-with half the sugar. Hey, it's that time of year right? And I'm all about Halloween baby and all the stuff that comes with it. In any case it's that time of year folks, and nobody makes an ice blended with anything remotely resembling pumpkin extract like coffee bean. You can call it a resounding endorsement if you'd like, but this is pure facts. And no, I have yet to receive a dime. LOL Been coming to this Coffee Bean for well over two decades, so I know where the bones are buried at this location! LOL Seen em (the various workers) come and go and yet this location persists. The lone drawback was the hordes and avalanche of homeless activity both before, during and after the pandemic. Nothing agains the homeless, but they made this THEIR cofee bean for the longest. How so? For starters, they owned the inside, and you could see the exact same people dominating what few seats they had availble for the longest, but I digress as it seems like now it's much more under control. Been here before and after work when I used to work across from here. One of a few CBTLs open late in LA. Most close by 8 or 9 tops. Service is on par for a chain coffee shop so whatever. Parking plenty location good coffee normal. Their pastries never look good at CBTL but they have a good tea selection. No real problems. I've been coming here for years, and haven't always received the best service, but nowadays I appreciate great service and attention from Seven whenever I catch her working. All staff nowadays is hard working and professional. Always clean, parking always available. Indoor and outdoor seating. Location has great weather. Stopped by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Del Rey last week with a friend for a quick caffeine fix. I ordered a large matcha latte and a classic cheese danish. The danish was super great...Flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet. But, in a classic mix-up, I thought I grabbed my matcha but ended up walking out with... a cup of hot water. As we headed back to the car, the guy at the register actually came outside to let me know and was so super polite about it, too! I thanked him profusely and returned to claim my rightful matcha. "No, I want a plain Americano." "So you don't want to add anything?" "No. I just want an Americano." Here's where I screwed up. "You know Americano means black coffee. You can Google it." She wanted to show me. "Coffee is black and people add things to it." I get it. I always think I should order a Latte without any milk, etc. and see what they thing. I also get that we have made coffee in the U.S. our thing. We know. And we certainly know how to add things. But, still, an Americano was and will always be black coffee, just hot water and expresso. The service is spectacular at this location and I can't help but listen to the banter of the barista's talking among themselves about the silliest of things. When someone walks in there is no problem with them whatsoever and they are able to handle any order that comes up. The people working there take their time to make sure every order is ready and if anything needs to be changed they are willing to handle it with professionalism and courtesy. My only problem with this location is the amount of non-service animals that they allow inside. While I do see the floors are mopped and cleaned, This is a place for food and drink and 9/10 when someone is bringing their animal inside, there is no telling where that animal has been, stepped in, or is tracking inside, or leaving on their floors. Hello TCB&TL LTNS! I have not been around due to not enough stores of coffee bean. I can't use the app, cuz it won't allow me to log in. But is this for all franchises stores? CoffeeBeans makes you pay for each items..... wow! No condiment bar! No Hazelnut creamer! Power? And that cost more money! Customers has to wait on them to come and help you. Even you are at register. Getting a milk was a hassle. I put more milk in the coffee and asked for a refill now and that will cost me $.25 cents and I have to pour out the coffee for use the same cup. I ask for stir and they hand give me by touching with their fingers. What is this? So I had to drink the whole cup right away. To get a refill, poured out the coffee to my milk, and drank (gulped down) so I can get the refill coffee in my used cup. And I found out the darn coffee refill is $1! Although, there was no way to find out the price of gallon coffee Togo? About $20 they said. Had they have price on them no need to ask every time you have a questions on what they cost! - no cost written for the stuff on the refrigerator like, drinks, yogurts, sandwiches and etc. - the purpose of the - one customer left cuz no one helping her and they are doing their own things. - everything of the merchandises and store hours has to ask them not showing on the doors. - they do not have the disability accessibility doors. You still have to pull out to open if no one is around to help you. If both doors are automatically opened? Would that be too much of customer satisfaction to enter their stores for the coffee bean and tea leaf? - I LIVE THEIR TABLE AND CHAIRS! While I didn't try any food during my last visit, I ordered a cafe latte with oat milk and nothing else, just the way I like it. It was delicious and hit the spot. What it made it even better was the incredible customer service provided by Kenji. This is a small location in a strip mall which will likely only be standing for the next twelve months, if that, because the entire shopping center is going to be razed to construct mixed use buildings. That being said, this is a cozy, small coffee shop. It is a great place to grab a coffee and sit outside on the patio to read a book or just enjoy the weather. Kenji is warm and hospitable, and his good energy helps to create the perfect ambiance at this location. I highly recommend this location as it is convenient and the staff is friendly and very professional. The drinks are delicious, too, but stay away from the sugary ones. read more

I really don't want to write a bad review about Coffee Bean but I am compelled to due to the horrible experience I had while attempting to get a gift card. I was meeting with a friend that loves The Bean and I went to the Marina location to purchase a $ 10 card for her. I asked the cashier if I could use my Coffee Bean App to pay for it. She said I couldn't. You can, she wasn't trained to know that but, okay. I'll pay another way. I decided to use my AppleCash App. A friend gave me $ 20 and this would be my first purchase I would be making using it. I put the card in the reader. It beeped but the cashier said it needed to be swiped again. I swiped it and then she hit some buttons on the screen for me ( I didn't have my glasses handy). She gave me the gift card for $ 10 and I glanced at my AppleCash App. The balance was $ 0. I told her I was charged twice and showed her TWO DISTINCTIVELY DIFFERENT TRANSACTIONS FOR $10 one minute apart ( SEE BELOW). She said it was a mistake and it will "work itself out" . If not I can dispute the charge. Whaaat? I asked for the manager. Same response even after seeing the two charges. She said that's not what I see on my end. At this point I'm really getting angry. I told her here are your three choices. # 1-Take the gift card back, refund my $ 20. #2 - I'll keep the $ 10 gift card, you still owe me $10. Or, # 3 - you keep the $ 10 gift card and my $ 10 that you robbed from me and I'll be taking a bag of coffee of the shelf to reimburse myself the $ 20. (It was $ 18.95 so technically they still owed me change) . At that moment a HOMELESS MAN who was sitting in the corner stands up and holds up a $ 20 bill and says " Please take my $ 20. It's okay. Take it ". Well, I don't know about you but that's the last person I would be taking money from! I thanked him, said it was very kind of him to intervene but it was between me and The Bean at this point. Okay, times up. What will it be? They declined once again to return my money. I said keep the card. I asked which coffee bag I should take and without waiting for the answer I decided on the Brazil beans. On my way out the manager said " you can't do that, it's stealing. " Really?? You just ROBBED ME!. I walked to my car, no gift card (sorry Kym, I meant well) and a $ 20 of beans I don't even want!! An employee came after me in quick pursuit and said " they want me to take your picture". Okay. I posed for the photo. Hopefully he got my good side. I got in my car and was like what the hell just happened. I don't want these beans and all the bad ju ju that's attached to them. I got out and decided to give it back. Unfortunately, as I approached the entrance the bag completely exploded and the beans went E V E R Y W H E R E. What a waste. Sorry bout the mess Coffee Bean. I'm sure the $ 20 you robbed from me will cover the cost of clean up. UPDATE: I sent an email to Coffee Bean about the incident, including screen shots of my two charges below. After multiple emails back and forth with their computer responses I got a call. ( We're talking about 2 hours now to write / respond/ write / respond ) They didn't believe me. I was told to file a claim with corporate. They also to never return to that location again. Don't worry. That will not be happening. Just had to take a second to review this particular location because the frapp I order was perfectly blended and prepared. It was a cookies and creme decaf frapp. I don't like ice chunks in frappe that I enjoy and this did not disappoint. It was smooth, sweet and bursting with flavor. I even asked for a heavy handed approach on the Oreos add on top. I also ordered the coffee cake which lacked the spongyness most cakes have but it's pre-packaged so I can't hold that against them. The vibe walking is is super chill and the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. That last part is an important part to me as a customer, since it helps me feel like they actually care that I am being taken care of. Oh...and the coffee was great! Came here because today was unusually cloudy yet extremely hot and humid. My car said it was 77 degrees outside and it is very very cloudy. It was really a gorgeous beautiful day for the beach but being a holiday weekend, I feared the crowds and just took my drink and made it my treat. The staff was really sweet and when I asked about a blended drink or iced, she did not impose her opinion but made it about how I was feeling. I went with my usual and was very happy with the strength of the coffee which is a requirement to deal with weekend holiday crowds! It was very odd to get many tourists and I thought everyone left town but nope they were all here to stay or the tourists all flocked. Coffee just really relaxes my whole coping with LA vibe and I've been in LA all my life but it's just a world where it lacks the specialness it used to back in the 90's and 2000's where West LA was still a pure gem. I'm very nostalgic for good old days and thanks to Coffee Bean for being here since I was a young person. This is the fourth time I've come here expecting the order to be correct & it never is. My order is simple: 32oz Pomegranate Blueberry (or Tropical Passion) Tea Latte extreme light ice Extra scoop of vanilla I usually get regular ice but what irritates me is that they NEVER ADD the extra vanilla, even though I ask for it AND PAY for it. Maybe it's just me, but I'm a firm believer that reading IS fundamental. So today, I mobile ordered the same 2 drinks (I never deviate unless Pom Blue isn't available), walk in, asked the baristas if they added it, the one making the drink never answered and the other assured me they did but guess what?! One is extra watery (meaning there was too much ice/water) but both are missing that extra scoop of vanilla. I don't know if they think I'm an idiot or that I wouldn't notice, but if I ask a simple question, I shouldn't be lied to. I walked out with what I didn't order not because I'm happy with it, but because I was mad as heck, I know confrontation NEVER resolves anything and it's just not worth it. I'll have to just drive to another Coffee Bean, which will be out of my way, but hopefully those baristas are smart enough to read the stickers & have enough integrity to know that they should be honest with the customers. Like I tell my four year-old, lying doesn't help any situation, it's easier to just tell the truth and apologize. I've seen them remake drinks that the customer clearly ordered incorrectly but decided to make changes after the fact. This is customer service on display. They had technical difficulties and our order didn't go through. After seeing us waiting and realizing what happened, the shift supervisor (wish I got her name), apologized and explained the situation. She then proceeded to comp our order as a sign of good faith and hope that we would return another time -- we will. She handled the situation with such efficiency and class, assistant manager on the horizon? The peach jasmine cold brew tea was great. Strangely, some other locations haven't tasted this good. I do not usually write reviews unless I really have a bad experience yesterday. I walk in to order a coffee at 540am. Granted, store just opened but I am more than happy to wait if asked. I walk in and the young lady behind the counter did not hear me walk in and had her back to me while wearing her AirPods, which by the way is not safe to have on so early in the morning when alone at front counter. Anyway, I softly said Good Morning and had to say a little louder a second time because she did not hear me. I believe I startled her which was not my intention and I apologized. After giving me the evil eye, she says nothing, turns away and walks to back room leaving me for about a minute, she comes back out and goes to a display and grabs something, comes back to coffee area and starts doing I don't know what.
