I'm all in for seafood, I love it. But this just didn't taste right. The place is nice but the staff is very concerning. The person that was playing music had audio playing from videos they were watching while the music was playing. When I got there I was treated well, But after I got seated down I was never checked up on. I had no drink left and they didn't ask me if I wanted a refill till I was about to leave. Among the pricier spots on Dickson Street, the Collective is a great spot to try and kick off your night with a little elegance before kicking it over to the Piano Bar next door to sing some karaoke Don't Stop Believin' and take a Fireball shot. On our visit, they were serving a limited menu which I felt could have used at least one salad option, but what we were able order was all tasty though not exceptional. The hummus with tzatziki was delicious and served with crunchy pita chips the whole table enjoyed. The chicken Alfredo pasta was the highlight of the evening while the prime rib was respectable but a little too salty. For sides we went with the corn (great) and asparagus (meh). All in all a solid dinner option but not a spot I'm dying to return to. read more

I really wanted to love The Collective on Dickson, but overall it landed somewhere in the middle for me. The parmesan salsa starter was underwhelming and didn't have much flavor. The shrimp dish (I think it was the Shrimp de Jonghe) was just okay, nothing too memorable. On the flip side, the pork shank was excellent and definitely the highlight of the night. Drinks were fine but nothing special, while dessert was fantastic and closed things out on a high note. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, which made the experience better. They have a "Speak-Easy" Lounge in the back room which is only available for members? Staff was kind of hesitant talking about the Secret Room. The staff was also not the friendliest of the lot. But, I kid you not, we went in last Friday and this is how we were treated: Us flipping through menu: Hi, what kind of beers are on tap? Bartender: Those aren't beers they are cocktails. (Duh jerk). Us: Oh, okay! What do you have for beer? Bartender: Should be on the menu right here--- flips through it. (Shows us as though he's showing idiots that are drinking for the first time-- my husband is 30 and I'm 31). Us: Okay....awesome. (panicking bc of the rudeness I just pick something quickly) Well, I think I will just have a vodka sprite and my husband will have a jack and coke. Bartender: Okay. Makes them. Puts them on counter. Us: Okay, how much would that be? Bartender: About $13 or $14. Us: Which is it? (Wondering for tip money). Bartender: Why does it matter? Us: Ummm... because we are paying with cash and that's your tip we are trying to calculate?! Needless to say, we sucked our drinks down quickly so we could leave. When I took our drinks back I told him to smile for a picture. To my surprise, he actually did. This place is still terrible. The tiki side is the worst. The bartenders treat you as an inconvenience if you order a drink that isn't on draft or in a can. I've had a bartender put tequila in a rum-based drink then argue with me when I informed him that the drink was made with the wrong liquor. The wait times for the drinks are also extremely long. You could definitely drive to TikiCat in Kansas City, have a few (real tiki) drinks, stay at a nice B&B, wake up the next morning, eat breakfast, and drive home by the time these bartenders make the tiki drinks that they will likely mess up on. The craft side is alright. However, I did have a bartender attempt to serve me while INSANELY HIGH on something. He made multiple attempts but couldn't even keep ice in a cup, spilling everywhere on the bar. Then he went and stared at the floor in the corner of the bar, unresponsive. Lucky for him that I was the only customer. While it was incredibly entertaining to watch, it didn't meet my thirst-quenching needs. As a die hard tiki fanatic, award winning tiki mixologist, professional mixologist and bar tender, I am comfortable in saying that this establishment is truly the "bee's knees!" I wasn't trying to sound pretentious with my opening paragraph. I just want to state my credentials as I say, this is one of the finest cocktail bars I've experienced in quite a while! Given that I am snooty with my knowledge and understanding of "tiki," the bartender, Preston did an excellent job of exploring my likes and dislikes prior to mixing a cocktail for me...when I told him "bar tender's choice." Conversely, he did a great job of talking through the menu with a couple of "newbies" to the entire tiki experience. He was never condescending, and seemed to get these patrons excited about trying something new. I'd put Preston behind my bar in a New York minute! What I experienced (on both sides of this establishment) was/is a staff as excited and "jazzed" about making quality cocktails as I am. They all seem to be genuinely friendly and professional. The bar is comfortably furnished and has a great mood. The "Cannibal" side could be more committed to tiki, but that is just me. This place is nice, but would be even better with a few carved tikis for decoration (go to Tiki Cat in Kansas City for inspiration). I suspect that C&C will become a part of my usual cocktail rotations as I work in the Fayetteville area. read more

Worst experience of my life. My friend was sitting at our table while I was going to get drinks and a group of 6 guys surrounded her in the booth and would not move. They were extremely rude when we asked them to get up. They began calling me fat and proceed to try to punch my fiancé in the face for asking them to leave. They were being degrading, disrespectful, as well as saying racial slurs. Then as my fiancé tried to deescalate the situation, they proceeded to throw a drink at us (which narrowly missed). We asked the manager for help and his response was "I didn't see it so I can't do anything". Let's just say that 2 random bystanders bought us drinks after seeing how awful this encounter was. To be translucently clear, this place is a stressful, anxious and tedious bore overall.  Exorbitant prices for insipid "craft" drinks. The staff members are very rude.  With the type of business it is operating; it is quite understandable that the personalities of employees are not needed to be overly jovial. They do, albeit, could've been respectful.  When my friends Saturday night were invited to a Cosplay anime event hosted at Cannibal and Crafts, they were met with such distaste.  I've never seen such crude remarks amongst the staff members.  They also refused to do a single thing to minimize the deriding demoralizing remarks in a condescending manner by the customers arriving and attending.  Making the incidents worse; while waiting forever to enter into the building, there were others paying their way to get in the building while my friends were left unattended to.  Even when a friend of mine showed humility and grace by ignoring the pretentious insults by the staff members aimed at her, they continued making it such an arduous task just to simply get into a place with overcharged items and charged too much to even get in. The event was met with little to no help.  Many people share different hobbies, interests, lifestyles, cultures etc.; but the standards for treating people in anime cosplay attire were met with disgust.  I do like the design inside though read more

Fantastic bar the bucks that trend of what one might expect on Dickson Street in Fayetteville. Attention to detail, fantastic cocktails, and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. That was the case until they got extremely busy on a Saturday night after a home football game. While I don't expect many places to be able to keep up with a bar packed to the gills, this one definitely faltered when they got busy and didn't seem to ever catch up. John is a HORRIBLE bartender. I asked for two Moscow mules. There are plenty of copper mugs so when he made them in regular glasses I asked for copper mugs. Accurately he asked for our IDs which was no big deal. We gave him our IDs and waited 10 minutes while our cocktails sat there while he served other people. Finally I asked for our IDs back and a couple of beers. He gave me our IDs back and said "no" to my request for beers. I had to go to the other bar to finally get a drink.
