    New unit
    Alex W.

Reece came to inspect our system which was over producing condensation and leaking into our vents. He explained everything he found in great detail and answered all our questions and options for repair. He didn't seem sales-y and was just get us the best solutions. We decided to move forward with replacing our entire unit. Rigo, Marco and Cole came to replace it and were extremely professional. They asked about removing their shoes and were understanding of our annoyingly loud dogs barking at them for a bit. They cleaned up and explained everything with the new system. Highly recommend using The Coolest for all your unfortunate AC needs.

WARNING: I had read positive reviews about this company, but I had an awful experience. Had a new complete HVAC system installed and they left the job looking like this, with the ceiling pain/drywall coming down like this. In addition, I had some concerns about the humidity levels in my place with the new unit running. The owner, Mark, called me and was incredibly rude and disrespectful, saying that he had much bigger concerns than this right now and was going to get around to it eventually down the road. For someone who just spent a lot of money (10K) on a new HVAC system, found this customer service just really disappointing. The owner was downright nasty to me. They sent a technician, Cole, out to address my concerns, and upon leaving, I learned that he intentionally manipulated the system settings to create falsely improved humidity readings (see the pic of the calibration settings below) giving the appearance that the issue had been resolved, when it had not. This was a deliberate act of deception, and I was never notified that he had manipulated the calibration settings. As soon as I learned he did this, I contacted them about this, with very little response from the company, other than "yeah, he shouldn't have done that". I would highly, highly recommend you use another company, this was super shady business. ------------ In response to the owners comments below: I have never terminated our work together, I have been trying to get ahold of you guys to address my concerns with no response. Not cool, man. Can you personally reach out to me and schedule a visit? Under no circumstances should the diagnostics be adjusted to reflect a lower humidity level than it reads; this is manipulation, particularly given my chief concern of the humidity levels being too high. Your manager Lee even told me that this was inappropriate and he would speak to Cole about it. Furthermore, there was never any follow up visit discussed like you said. The crack in the wall was not small, it was big, and the pictures speak for themselves. This was right after the install of my new unit. Same day, just left like this, and you were rude about my concern to get this addressed quickly. Lastly, I never requested a full refund, and again you have demonstrated that your lack of customer service here by painting a patron (who just paid 10K for a new install) as a villain, rather than making things right.

They took the time to thoroughly clean the condenser and ran multiple tests on the attic unit to make sure everything was operating as it should. What really stood out was how they walked me through the entire process at the end, showing photos and explaining each step. It gave me a lot of confidence in their work and attention to detail. I'm very happy with this company and would highly recommend them.

My AC condensation pipe was completely backed up and needed to be flushed. Their tech arrived on time and seemed very professional, spending about an hour and a half working on the unit and inspecting everything inside and out. However, he couldn't find where the evaporator line exited the house. His solution? Install an external pump and run a whole new drain line. The rough estimate for that was, well, a hell of a lot more than the $15 fee they charged me just to come out and take a look. When he left, I still had the exact same broken AC, was stressing over an exorbitant bill to fix it, and somehow found out I'd been signed up for a $15-a-month service plan that entitled me to another check-up in six months just in time for winter. Hoping to just get it resolved, I reached out to Service Wizard via Yelp later that evening to see if they could come back today to do the work the tech recommended. I never got a response. Frustrated, I called a different AC company. They actually answered the phone, sent technicians out right on time today, and those guys spent **five minutes** at my house before finding the external line, repairing it, and flushing my system. Problem completely solved in under five minutes, and the fee was incredibly cheap compared to the massive quote I got from Service Wizard. I will definitely be canceling my $15-a-month contract with Service Wizard and won't be recommending them going forward. Save yourself the headache and call someone else!

From my initial interaction with the office representatives (Taylor, Dave Sr., and Dave Jr.) to the technicians who came out to my home (Nick, Jackie, and John Paul), the level of professionalism and care was outstanding. Just as importantly, they took the time to clearly explain areas that were not a concern and documented a thorough review outlining why those aspects of the home were in good condition, information that will be extremely valuable for future home inspections or potential buyers. Each team member was knowledgeable, responsive, and thorough in addressing my concerns, making what could have been a stressful situation feel manageable and well-handled. When people speak of organizations that deliver top-tier service, this is exactly the kind of company they mean. AirCo has earned my trust and will be my first call for any future needs.

He charged $675 to fill coolant and run a leakage test when he knew there was a 90% chance beforehand my evaporator coil was leaking and it would not be worth replacing the evaporator coil for $4500. He only offered a $675 credit towards a new system after I complained. 2. When I texted him a question about the new system quotes last year, he ghosted. Yet he emailed me four days later asking if I was ready to purchase a $17k system. Four days to decide on a $17k system without answering questions or receive other bids is not enough time. He cares more about making the commission than answering questions. 3. Jon Paul kept pushing the top of the line variable Daikin for $17k. Yet Shields AC & Heating in Lockhart said the DH7VSA compressor has a lot of firmware and software bugs communicating with the thermostat. Shields said it's not worth all the rebates and incentives. 4. Airco only offers a three year labor warranty through Airco. Yet they do not tell you that Daikin and Goodman offer an extended ten year labor warranty through Asure for $850. Daikin owns Goodman. 5. Jon Paul's quote did not include new return and supply plenum, unless he didn't specify. He only mentioned spraying the existing supply plenum with mold killer. 6. Jon Paul did not suggest moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic to reduce static pressure. Three other companies suggested moving the entire system. 7. When I asked Jon Paul what the difference was between the $17k variable Daikin and $15k variable Daikin, his response was, "More features and stuff." I need someone more articulate. 8. Jon Paul did not run a Manual J test. Ultimately, we ended up paying $12.1k with Jurnee Mechanical for a variable Goodman GXV6S condenser which included new return and supply plenum, moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic, 10 year extended labor warranty through Trinity, free maintenance for two years, and Reme Halo UV light.

I…read morefinally called another company, not Quick Cooling (though I really wish I'd called Quick Cooling first!), for another opinion and they replaced the capacitor. For one day, I had glorious AC, but then I came home late last night from work to find my house above 90 again and the fan motor dead (not the capacitor, the actual motor). I broke down sobbing, set up my window AC to cool myself and my foster kittens down, then got to the work of calling everyone in town to find someone to help. I wasted hours calling other people. In one case, a receptionist told me that there was absolutely definitely room in the schedule for me last night, but a tech called me nearly two hours later to inform me that there was no room at all and the best they could do was to help me tomorrow. I then called Quick Cooling. An actual tech, out in the field, answered my call. I wish I could remember his name, but I was exhausted by that point (somewhere approaching 11 pm after an 11 hour shift). He asked me to text him my address and told me he'd be wrapping up a job in 45 minutes and would let me know when he was on his way. He was at my house, at the opposite end of town from where he was, an hour later. He was friendly, despite the late hour, and very understanding. He confirmed my diagnosis and he and a younger gentleman, who I believe was his apprentice, went through the work, in the dark of night, of replacing the fan motor. Through all of this, he didn't get impatient with me for standing and watching, nor did he get upset when I asked a lot of questions. He showed me the birthday of my unit (1997) and some corrosion on the coils/fins and explained that, while my unit should work awhile longer, he would NOT recommend replacing parts more expensive than the fan motor, nor would he recommend replacing the motor again. He recommended a unit for when I am ready, told me a very reasonable price for it and then, when I asked about a more expensive unit I was interested in, explained in detail why that might not be appropriate for my situation. Despite it being nearly 1 am when he completed the job and the fact that he had to be back on the job at between 6am and 7am the next morning, he took the time to double check my filters and recommend maintenance schedules without trying to sell me anything extra. He did so in a friendly, kind and businesslike manner and was very sympathetic. I should add that I am a petite female and there were no men home in my house. He presented me with his card upon knocking on the door and did not enter my home until I had inspected it. He did this without being prompted. He put me at ease and I did not feel intimidated at all by him or his apprentice. Sometimes contractors can feel intimidating or pushy, but I felt very safe having him in my home in the middle of the night. I am very grateful to Quick Cooling and will be recommending them to all my friends. I am very likely going to replace my AC through them when the time comes. Thanks, Quick Cooling! You're great. Saturday came and went with no arrival, no call, and no update. By 2:00 PM, I had attempted to contact the technician several times before finally receiving a response that he was still on another job. He ultimately arrived around 3:00 PM and completed the visit. I understand that delays happen, especially in the HVAC industry during busy seasons. My frustration wasn't that the technician was running behind--it was the lack of communication throughout the day. A quick text letting customers know you're running late can go a long way and helps people plan their day accordingly. The service itself ended up being fine, but the communication and customer experience could definitely use improvement. Hopefully this feedback helps future customers and encourages better communication when schedules change.

Sorry for the long review...but please read on to hear my horror story with this sorry excuse of a company. I don't normally write reviews (good or bad), but my poor experience with this company cannot go unheard. I feel obligated to warn others of their frankly criminal business practices. I originally called them out to take a look at my old HVAC that was no longer producing cold air. They identified the Freon was low and filled it back up. Worked well for a bit, but then got low again...indicating their was a leak in the system. The unit was so old, we decided to replace the unit instead of fixing it. The new unit was installed, but not without issue. I chose what they described as their go-to brand - American Standard. Apparently their technicians do not know how to install their go-to brand, because it took several days and several different technicians to get the install completed. A year later, the unit began tripping the breaker any time it went to the 2nd stage. Took them 3 days to come out (when approaching triple digit temperatures), charged $150 service fee and $450 in parts and labor to add a capacitor to the setup (a $50 part and about 10 minutes of labor). Did not fix the problem. Tech came out again, and said it seemed to be an issue with the breaker and that I needed to call an electrician to diagnose and solve the problem. Ended up paying $300 for an electrician to come out. When he took a look at the install, he was flabbergasted. He could not believe what he was seeing! He identified the unit was installed on an aluminum electrical line, that was severely undersized for the unit installed. He said no respectable company would EVER do this kind of shotty work. He said replacing the electrical line would likely cost a couple thousand dollars, since it was on the other side of the house. When I called Smart Air to let them know of the situation, the dispatcher was very dismissive. She said she would have their lead install tech follow up with me, but of course I never heard anything back... That is when they went dark despite several additional attempts on my part, and broke communication with me entirely. I ended up having to pay an electrician to run the new line on my own dollar - several thousand dollars - and now I'm finally back up and running.
