Just a simple smoked turkey sandwich but a darn good one!
    Tom C.

Small place with tables/umbrellas outdoors and a compact menu of sandwiches, some fairly basic, some more inventive and all made with Boar's Head meats/cheeses. I tried smoked turkey with lettuce, tomato, bacon and mayo on sourdough instead of the multigrain. It fell into the fairly basic camp but it was basically delicious! Toasty bread, plenty of shaved turkey, right amount of bacon and fresh veg. My sis had the special of the day which was their version of a classic Italian hoagie. It was served on a sub roll and she liked it a lot. It was quick to order and pay, we parked ourselves under an umbrella on the deck and in about 7 minutes had our two delicious sandwiches brought out in a bag. How delicious? I went back the next day (Saturday) only to discover the hours had changed and they were closed. And yes, I did my Yelply duty and updated the business hours on the app :)

Smoked turkey and greek pasta salad.

The Corner Kitchen is a cozy little spot with easy parking along a very busy intersection near the Dahlonega Square. Their daily special is displayed inconspicuously in the back of their store & they also have a kid's menu for the little tykes. I ordered up a smoked turkey plate with a side of their greek pasta salad and was overall super impressed with the taste!! Their combination of turkey, apples, brie and their turmeric honey surprisingly worked out so great together on their fresh baguette. I would've ordered it twice if I didn't have to travel so far home! The restaurant was voted Best Sandwich Shop of 2019 by their local "Dahlonega Nugget" so that should tell you a lot about the tiny shop! Unfortunately, the place was out of soup on the day of my visit. That would've been a better side on this colder day. Not a problem cause other delicious sides were readily available in their place. This is definitely going to be a re-visit if I'm ever back in the area; I would highly recommend you stop by for a bite to eat!

Excellent experience for the wife and I. She got turkey sandwich with Greek pasta salad and a brownie (handmade from the fudge factory) I got roast beef sandwich with the pasta salad also, and a truffle. The sandwiches were truly excellent. Bread, portion size and condiment, just absolutely perfect! Toasted perfectly! We were both extremely pleased and as of now are regulars! Bee and Wes. Bees service and explanation to newbies as we were was excellent, knowledgeable and practiced but patient explanation. Wes. Killer sandwiches (he was in the kitchen and pretty quiet) and good choice of music back there!!! We will be back again very soon.

After researching many of the dining options in the Dahlonega area, we ultimately decided on White Oak Bistro. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, with rolling pastures, classic fencing, and horses grazing nearby. From the restaurant, you can enjoy distant, long-range mountain views, creating a splendid and picturesque setting. Upon arriving at the bistro, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated by the windows with a lovely view. The dining room features a refined fine-dining atmosphere, with soft music gently playing in the background. For dinner, we chose the gouda fritters, roasted salmon, and colossal shrimp, followed by tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious--especially the fritters and the shrimp entrée. The bread was perfectly baked and fresh, and it paired wonderfully with the flavorful shrimp broth. We truly enjoyed the entire experience and highly recommend White Oak Bistro for anyone planning a relaxing mountain getaway.

Located on the south side of Dahlonega next to the Chevron station (separate from the gas station itself), this small sandwich shop absolutely delivers when it comes to flavor, quality, and presentation. This was my first visit and I genuinely could not decide what to order, so I went all in and tried several sandwiches. Every sandwich I tried was excellent. The Cowboy Cubano and the Irish Imposter Reuben ended up being my favorites. That Reuben was so good I literally went to sleep thinking about it afterward. The Irish Imposter comes with shaved pastrami, Swiss cheese, barrel-cured sauerkraut, and their house-made thousand island aioli on toasted marble rye. Crispy on the outside, warm and cheesy inside, and packed with flavor. One of the better Reubens I've had in North Georgia. The Cowboy Cubano was incredible too. Smoked brisket, pepper jack cheese, green chiles, Texas red sauce, Alabama white sauce, and crispy fried onions on perfectly pressed Cuban bread. Smoky, creamy, crunchy, slightly spicy -- everything worked together perfectly. The Clubber was loaded with smoked turkey, thick-cut bacon, applewood smoked ham, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and garlic Dijon aioli. Super fresh, balanced perfectly, and the bread was fantastic. The Philly Cubano was another standout with shaved roast beef, steak seasoning, provolone, white American, roasted peppers, and onions on authentic Cuban bread imported from Miami. You can taste the difference immediately in the bread quality. I'm already planning a return trip specifically to try the High Country Cubano with pulled smoked pork, smoked ham, Swiss, dill pickles, chips, and smoky mustard aioli. The desserts were excellent too. They had these thick gourmet cookies that were amazing, especially the pecan pie cookie that basically combines a cookie with pecan pie filling on top. Dangerous stuff. What impressed me most is that these sandwiches are crafted with care. Great cuts, beautiful presentation, quality ingredients, and somehow they're not overly messy to eat. You can tell the people behind this place know what they're doing. Daniel was back there making sandwiches during my visit and doing an awesome job, and the service overall was excellent. Friendly people, welcoming atmosphere, and genuine pride in the food. A couple things to know before you go: 1. Parking is limited 2.It's a takeout spot. You do have a few chairs to sit and wait for your food inside though Honestly though, none of that matters once you take the first bite. If sandwiches were the only food I could eat for the rest of my life, I'd be completely fine with it -- and places like this are exactly why. Dahlonega is lucky to have a spot like this. Support local businesses and go give them a try.

Way better than I expected and would definitely swing by again if I was in the area. If you want a good sandwich I'd highly recommend them.

Fair prices for the quality and quantity of food--definitely left in a food coma. Service: Service was efficient and the food came out well-prepared. No major issues during the visit. Atmosphere: Located in downtown Dahlonega, making it easy to explore nearby shops and dessert spots before or after your meal. I asked for some Tabasco sauce to help make the sandwich more palatable to eat, instead of being brought a bottle like most restaurants would give you they gave me a condiment cup full of Tabasco sauce, too much for anyone to use. When the bill came for an extra 50 Cent charge for it, I didn't fight it because it was 50 Cent and I just wanted to leave, but it was frustrating. I've never been charged for condiments / hot sauce at a restaurant I'm giving two stars because the server was nice and patient while we figured out what my little one needed to order she had to come back to the table a couple times, but they should have mentioned the surcharge for the hot sauce at the time that I requested it. Would I come back here again for a meal, no. Would I consider coming back to try a cocktail, maybe, only because overheard the bartender speaking to some patrons quite passionately about the flavors which they put together so I would give this part. Another chance even though the kitchen has lost my confidence,

Good choice, because it means they stay focused on what they do best. We tried a couple appetizers/sides: hummus, which was creamy with enough texture to signal home-made and a nutty touch of sesame; muhammrah a "red pepper and walnut dip" that was new to us; falafel, with a thin, crunchy crust surrounding an almost fluffy, flavor-packed inside; all served with thin-but-flavorful pita. Excellent! And yes we took the leftovers home! For mains, my wife tried the gyro combo, a pita wrapped around lamb gyro (an ample amount) and light cucumber salad, with seasoned French fries. My main was their steak shawarma, wrapped in a pita, with a bit of the cucumber salad. We always share bits of each other's order, so I'm sure of saying these folks know what they're doing! Both mains were excellent as well. Shawarma was new for both us, but a a hit we will be ordering again. By the time we finished this lot, we definitely weren't hungry, but we talked ourselves into trying a dessert with coffee. The owner delighted us by suggesting we share three generous pieces of their specialties, which aren't on their website menu, but are enticingly arrayed in a display case. The owner also offered Turkish style coffee--something I had learned to make at home many years ago but have missed ever since. Delicious stuff! If you need an afternoon pick-me-up, this is the place--just be sure to order it with medium sugar and let the coffee grounds settle for a minute or two! Not experience with authentic Turkish-style coffee? Chat with the owner about it, he knows his stuff. A heads-up about the cafe itself: this is an everyday, neighborhood eatery, great for lunch or a quick dinner. It's like something transported from an east-Mediterranean city neighborhood, comfortable, unpretentious, and friendly. It's the kind of place you've seen Anthony Bourdain visit and dawdle in, in countless places. Go! Have an adventure! And if we meet, let's chat!
