I just…read morerealized that they're part of the Stark Reality restaurant group, which has a big presence in Sonoma County. We had also tried Grossman's Noshery & Bar from the same restaurant group and were happy with the food there. I also heard good things about their other restaurants, so it should not have been a surprise that we were also impressed with the food here. Food is served tapas style and honestly, all the dishes sound appetizing. On this visit, we tried a few dishes. I wish I came with a more empty stomach to try more things. We ordered their crispy maitake mushrooms, steamed local black cod, and grilled house-made lamb sausage. Everything was delicious! The crispy maitake mushrooms came with a fish sauce which gave a nice brightening note to eat with fried food. Lemon was also fried with them to help cut any grease, so overall this dish did not feel oily or heavy. The steamed local black cod's ginger scallion oil surprisingly paired very well with the black truffle pesto. It had an earthy flavor profile that was brightened by the ginger. The cod was perfectly cooked and the mushrooms soaked up all of that saucy goodness. I loved this dish! The grilled house-made lamb sausage was Thai inspired and you could definitely taste the spices in the sausage. I actually would've liked more of the tamarind BBQ sauce and basil salad on this dish to help counter the lamb's spiciness a bit, but I enjoyed the dish. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and came out quickly. The restaurant is housed in what looks like a historic house, so it was a very cozy environment. They have a patio where you could eat while enjoying nice weather. I would definitely come again if I'm in the area!

We ordered the following (in the order of how much I liked them): - bee sting pizza - pork and beef meatballs - coq au vin - roasted brussels sprouts - tiramisu - smoked apple galette Service was great and patient. No one greeted us or acknowledged us at the entrance, so we were left standing around unsure of what to do until a busser finally asked if we were dining in. He brought us water, but after that, no one came back to check on us or even give us menus. We actually had to grab menus ourselves from the front stand. After waiting quite a while, we had to call the busser over ourselves to let someone know we were ready to order. He told us he wasn't our server and just stood there looking at us, so I asked if he could please get the server for us instead. He responded that the server was "a little busy right now." Meanwhile, the server was behind the bar continuing whatever they were doing and never once acknowledged us. At that point, we felt completely ignored and unwelcome, so we decided to get up and leave. Basic customer service, communication, and attentiveness would have gone a long way

Update: After…read moreposting my review, I was contacted by the Director of Destination Operations, who personally acknowledged my concerns and apologized for my experience. I appreciate that management took the feedback seriously and addressed the issue with their team. While my original experience was disappointing, I don't think one employee's behavior should define an entire establishment. The food, atmosphere, and management's response all reflected the level of hospitality I had hoped to experience. I look forward to giving them another chance in the future.

The ribs were outstanding--tender, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. The cheese plate was also thoughtfully curated and well executed, showcasing great local selections and presentation. Unfortunately, the overall experience was negatively impacted by the service. Our interaction with our server Chris N. left much to be desired, as the service felt inattentive and unwelcoming throughout the meal. Great restaurants are about more than just great food, and hospitality plays a major role in the experience. One additional observation: the overly curated "hipster" attitude and vibe felt dated and out of touch. The food stands on its own merits and doesn't need the accompanying pretension. Guests today are looking for authentic hospitality, not an image. Farmstead clearly has talented chefs and a strong menu and the fried chicken Tuesday is great, but improvements in service and guest experience would go a long way toward making it a destination worthy of its reputation.

May 2, 2026 - Santa Rosa…read more This has become our go-to spot whenever we're in Santa Rosa. The bike racing theme gives it a fun, unique vibe, and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. Service is consistently quick and friendly--but definitely make reservations, because this place is always busy. We started with their delicious house bread served alongside an olive tapenade--such a great way to kick things off. We also ordered a bottle of the Tom Mackey Cellars 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, which paired nicely with everything that followed. For appetizers, we shared the grilled polenta and calamari, both of which were excellent. For my main, I ordered the house special seafood risotto, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. My husband had the Spaghetti Pescatore--loaded with wild prawns, clams, calamari, fresh scallops, and fish of the day in a light tomato, garlic, and olive oil sauce--and it was just as good as it sounds. Around the table, we also had the lamb ravioli, Spaghetti Levi Leipheimer, and the Gnocchi Riviera, and every dish was a hit. Consistently great food, a lively atmosphere, and reliable service make this our must-do restaurant while in Santa Rosa.

Service was good, we enjoyed the bread and our bottle of chianti. They served olive tapenade with the bread. We both had salads that we enjoyed very much, the arugula with fennel, goat cheese, golden beets & balsamic and the RADICCHIO salad with pear, gorganzola cheese, fennel & balsamic. We both loved our entrees: They were just perfect: SPAGHETTI PESCATORA FETTUCCINE BOLOGNESE To top it off we shared a Tiramisu for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service was good and prompt, the very boisterous waiter was kind, enthusiastic, and sometimes hard to understand. All in all it was a great experience. The vibe is old school Italian restaurant. I love that their wine list has plenty of Italian wines because CA wines give me a migraine. Its a sweet place that I will return to.

Menu offers a good selection of different dishes. I always try to look at the menu ahead of time but sometimes I feel like having steak and then once I get to restaurant, a different dishes looks more appetizing. I usually go with friends and we each choose very different item and then end up sharing a little of our dishes with each other. Nothing disappoints. Everything is a MUST try! The waiters and waitresses are also very helpful in selecting a dish. It is a bit pricey but what do you expect when the food ingredients are fresh? I'm willing to pay an arm and a leg for a good meal. Can't wait to come for my birthday later this month!

The music-themed decor on the walls added a bit of character to the space. We sat ourselves at a table, grabbed a menu we saw sitting near the bar at the center of the venue, and found an employee walking around to place our food order. He was friendly and helpful and provided excellent service. It took about 25 minutes for our food to be ready which was kinda long, but after trying our dishes, it was totally worth the wait. The potato skins were like mini loaded baked potatoes, but fluffier and easier to eat. It was super cheesy and tastier than I expected, especially with the ranch and sour cream that came on the side. The classic pot pie was a large dish and quite filling, with plenty of sizable chunks of chicken and veggies mixed together nicely in a thick and flavorful roux. Not to mention the flaky buttery crust on top. Wow, I really liked this. And my bf finished every last bite of his grilled salmon dish, no complaints. The lemon drop cocktail was yummy, just the right sweetness and a good amount of alcohol without ruining the flavor. All in all, we had a 5-star experience at Torches and wouldn't hesitate to return.
