Played Indian Creek for the first time today. Got a deal on Groupon, so took advantage of it. Our…read moregroup took carts which is probably advantageous, since there are some hills and many adventuresome trails between greens and tees. The course winds it's way through apple/pear orchards, some houses and tree lined fairways. Views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams are in abundance. Several ponds and a meandering creek add to the beauty of this course. Today was a nice day - warm with a rather persistent west wind (which I understand is not the normal direction). The course is well marked and carts have informational books showing the hole layout and various yardages. It is well maintained with excellent fairways and greens. Course seems to be rather forgiving with very playable rough and generous fairways. There are a few blind holes that need to be scoped out before hitting your shot. All in all, a great course. O, I shouldn't forget the pro shop staff. They are somewhat friendly, though a happier demeanor by the guy behind the desk might be appreciated by most people.

Be sure to leave the cart on the cart path near the tee boxes or else some regular there will tell you can't drive on a par 3. I guess the regulars own that course. I was surprised on a 90 degree day there was not cart drink gal on the course. Such a nice place and you would think they could afford a golf cart drink gal on the course.

Overall, our visit went very well and relaxing weekend. The Bath house Soak and wrap was really amazing. the day I went the Temp of the Water from the spring was 123 degrees, my tub was 108 when I got in. You can add hotter or cooler water; to find you own comfort level. After 25 minutes you get out and they wrap you in a sheet and blanket with a wonderful cold wet towel around your head. Lifesaver there. Tim was great and made me feel very welcome. Okay here are my concerns and I hope they find a way to correct some 1. our room had a 3/4 inch gap under the door. So our pups werl overwhelmed by the the shadows and noise. 2. Communication of how things work a is not a strong suite. Like Oh I see you have appointments for the bath house. you will need to check in and pay here before you go. Or maybe you would like to pay for that service now while I'm charging you room. No Room charges are allowed. 3. Good and bad here. Good Portland Coffee Roasters for your in-room coffee. Bad. the coffee maker has to be moved into the bathroom to brew. There was no plug accessible from the table area. Oh and Isadoras restaurant at the golf course has awesome food Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had a great weekend, and we will be back.

The pool is fine but can't compete with mineral baths in my opinion. It's definitely rustic but clean and charming. The bathhouse attendants are typically wonderful and truly guide me to a great, relaxing experience. I've enjoyed Carson for decades--it's grown but it's still charming, still rustic.

Girl golfer here...this would be a 3,5 star review, if I could give half stars…read more I first came to this course with my girlfriend my first year learning to golf (that was last year, y'all). It is not an easy course! Even my husband, who is an avid golfer says so. It is beautiful and despite what you might think, you won't get views of the Gorge here. But you will be ensconced in gorgeous Pacific Northwest trees and hills that will take your breath away. This is an 18-hole course and it appears that some holes share a green with other holes (though, I've only played 9, so I can't say for certain). The fairways are challenging, in that they'll take turns or be quite narrow, edged my foliage or marsh that makes finding a wayward ball challenging. (However, if you have a ball finder, you could come away ball-rich!) they also are dry and patchy, adding to the challenge of the course. The greens are especially challenging because they are not clean and smooth. There are different varieties of grass (weeds?) on them and patches of dry ground. The staff is friendly and the people who golf here are casual and very friendly as well! All in all, I recommend this challenging, beautiful course.

The greens are weeds that are mowed short with wide, open bare patches...very little grass. Tee boxes are gouged up with chunks of turf gone and 4" high grass. The last time I played here a couple of years ago, it was in decent shape. Absolutely to be avoided now.
