Stopped in for a bite to eat after visiting the Red Rock Amphitheater; best decision of the day! Their special "Holy Cow" burger was AMAZING as were their onion rings and sweet potato fries. Never thought I would like a burger with bacon and mac & cheese on top, but it's one of the best burgers I've ever had! On top of this, the service was top notch. How cute is this place? SUPER cute:) My husband and I popped in as we were roaming around Evergreen, and I really enjoyed myself. I had a few mimosas, and I can't remember what food I had..... They have different options for mimosas, I think I had a strawberry, a regular, and berry one. Darn they are tasty! It was bustling so the waitresses had their hands full. The COVID considerations they are taking here is awesome! Tables are adequately separated with outdoor seating, servers wearing mask, and it was very clean. With that being said, the reasoning for my 3 stars was our waitress. Our ticket said Kayla but I can't be sure bc she didn't tell us her name, but shorter, young girl. After being seated it took a while to be acknowledged. She didn't being me sugar for my coffee for a good 10 mins. She didn't stop to ask if we needed anything when our food came out, I had to stop her after she passed us multiple times. Maybe she was having a bad day but she was not very nice to us. Went here for food and drinks before we went on a ghost tour of Morrison. The grilled cheese tasted fine, I'm just confused about why they microwaved it. We also watched them microwave every other dish they made as we were at the bar and could see into the kitchen. The service was decent enough, the food was mediocre at best. The reason I give only two stars is because before we left for our tour, I ordered a latte. They must have been cleaning the machine, but instead of telling me that, they made me a chemical laced latte. Overall, cheap, microwaved food at an unfair price and staff who obviously don't care enough to let you know the espresso machine is already being cleaned for the night. I'd go anywhere else in Morrison before returning to The Cow. UPDATE: I've changed my review from 2 stars to 1 because the response from Sherri was ridiculous. I watched a grilled cheese and a bowl of green chili get microwaved. That's not my personal opinion, it's what I observed from the bar. The second issue with my experience is not with your cleaning procedures. The FACT, not opinion, that I was sold a latte that had CHEMICALS in it instead of simply being told that the espresso machine was out of commission for the night is the problem. For a small town "restaurant" that only has 3.5 stars on yelp, I'd expect a more professional and apologetic response. But I'll be sure to "find a place that meets my needs in the future". Thanks for the advice, Sherry! UPDATE #2: ALL items prepared WHILE WE SAT AT THE BAR for 20 minutes were microwaved. Sorry I didn't specify. As I stated, we had a scheduled ghost tour right after we left. Once I tasted the latte, it was too late to return and tell everyone working to NOT SERVE ESPRESSO IF THE MACHINE HAS CLEANING SOLUTION IN IT. The Cow is our go-to place in Morrison for brunch or lunch. The French toast is excellent, prepared with a thick piece of brioche French style. If you prefer a savory breakfast, get the breakfast burrito. We like it best with no lettuce and the wonderful green chile sauce on the side, so we can control the amount of green chile per bite. For lunch, the patty melt is a solid choice. Skip the sweet potato fries, as they are consistently undercooked. Go with the buffalo chips, a cross between potato chips and fries with a dusting of spices, instead The Cow has a decent selection of draft beers, but the Colorado breweries are underrepresented. The Cow has a big complicated looking espresso/coffee/mocha/latte machine which seems popular, but not being coffee drinkers, we can't speak to that. There for brunch with friends. The rating is for the food -- The Emerald Scramble and the Angry Cow were very tasty! Nice fresh grapefruit juice too. However, they hit a pet peeve of ours...my friend doesn't eat potatoes, so asked the server if she could substitute something. The server said "sure!" So asked what, and the server offered fruit. It was a generous serving of fruit, but came with a nasty surprise of a $4 surcharge. For that large of a surcharge the server should've given some advance notice that the substitute she offered carried a sizeable upcharge. Otherwise it was a nice Sunday brunch with good friends. I stumbled across The Cow after searching for breakfast options close to Red Rocks Amphitheater on a Sunday morning. We were seated immediately and found the menu to be exactly what we were looking for: a solid meal to start our day. I ordered an omelette with vegetables, home fries, and whole wheat toast while my friend ordered the egg sandwich. We split a massive bowl of fresh fruit that included blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, apples, pears, pineapple, and watermelon. At just $5.99 for the large bowl, it was a steal. We stopped here after hiking the Panoramic Trail. Everyone was very friendly. The food was fantastic. Crispy hash browns are hard to get right, but they did! Have Paul make you an iced caramel latte and all is right with the world. We're going back later this week. read more

Dog friendly, high energy, fish & chip, burger, fish taco, onion ring, guacamole serving restaurant with soft serve ice cream and milk shakes to boot. Our three servers were top notch and ensured we never went without and our meals were served in a timely manner. Morrison, Colorado is great in itself and the cow just adds to that sparkle. To add to the review, I was unfair in providing a 4-star rating and do believe that the rating should be five. My only suggestion is to put a bit more effort into making the food unique. I had the fish and ships, my wife had the salad, and my son had the fish tacos. All were good, but the fish and chips were basic and a bit greasy. The salad was large and good, but there was nothing special to it and the size of the vegetables were huge and unappealing to my wife. She did not eat half of what was served. We found this spot a couple of months ago when you could only eat outside for to Covid. They made their outside dining quite warm with their heaters. We were surprised at how good the food was. Cute little restaurant on the main drag of the little town Morrison! I'm so bummed we missed breakfast by an hour- it stops at noon on the weekends. We settled on sandwiches- the French dip was great, my uncle was happy with the Reuben but The Colorado definitely sounded better on the menu than it tasted which was a bummer. The way the green chilies were prepared was odd for that type of sandwich. The staff was really nice & the service was quick but not rushed. Great little spot for a meal- would definitely go back and try their breakfast, would be good if they'd serve it a bit later on the weekends. read more

Definitely a must when in Morrison. I had the chicken salad and a side of onion rings. I loved that the salad had so many vegetables. Made it so filling that I actually got full. I consider myself to be pretty picky about my onion rings and like to try them at different places. The Cows onion rings were some of the best I had. So crunchy and not greasy at all. Unfortunately I was so full I didn't have a chance to get some of their ice cream. Definitely next time I'm back in Colorado. read more

Super disappointed. This is first visit since new ownership. We were regulars for years before moving south. However, decided a patio next to river on a beautiful day to meet up with son would be great. Location still great, but food was not a hit. 1st coffee was very watered down and no flavor. Used to be great start to morning. Portions are far less than before. Dish 1 okay warm. Dish 2 eggs over hard and ordered as over medium, they seemed microwaved. Dish 3 terrible. Overcooked omelette (brown), the entire dish was cold. Slice of French toast cold. Sent back and it was microwaved and returns, not produced hot and fresh. Even French toast was microwaved. Ever eaten bread out of microwave? My husband never complains about his food and he won't return. Could even get refills on coffee regularly. So sad because we live location. read more

OK... I've been here no less than 30 times in the last year or two since the new owners took over, but I am going to downgrade my rating due to the music. Yesterday was finally the straw that broke the camels back for me. I was reminded that the music selection has grated my nerves on almost every visit. I don't consider AC/DC's music to be relaxing and by the look of the others that were there, I don't think they thought so either. They really need to make their music selection a lot more subdued as background ambiance and not an overpowering audible force. The average age of the clients at lunchtime yesterday was probably closer to 55, if not older and I wasn't the only one put off by the music. On the positive side, I had the buffalo chicken grilled cheese and fries and was very happy with the quality of the chicken and the overall portions. I believe The Cow is really good at what they do, including prompt & courteous service, meal delivery time, presentation, cleanliness, quality of ingredients, consistency, and so on. I will continue to go there often, but they really NEED to address the music choices and volume. read more

Not Ever Again! As Bart Simpson says, "Don't have a cow, man!" I'll echo that sentiment by saying "Don't waste your time & money at The Cow." This was the second time in a year that I've met a friend for coffee and breakfast, both times on a Tuesday. This time Weds, July 17, 2019. Abhorrent tasting food, minuscule portions, tepid and weak Farmer Brother's coffee, and lackadaisical service. I had the two egg breakfast (my friend was fasting & only had the bad coffee). As you can see from my photo, the "scrambled" eggs were hard, more like a failed overcooked omelette, a mouthful of undercooked sweet potato home fries, one slice of marbled rye toast, and three pieces of overcrisped & greasy bacon. Having managed and cooked at similar style eateries, this was a sad and uninspiring presentation & taste. Apparently, the cook or cooks are too busy to wipe and clean pans between egg dishes because mine tasted greasy and tainted with other awful flavors. Asked my server for ketchup, but was never brought. All I got was a shoulder shrug and the same server could be bothered to check in to see if my meal was satisfactory. And did I mention the horrible coffee and overpriced meal? At $12 for supposed "diner" food, I expect much better. I don't understand the higher ratings because I asked the adjacent table how their meal was, and there was a collective "meh." Perhaps, owners & management feel because they have little in the way of competition in Morrison that food and service quality is of no concern. Nonetheless, that's no excuse. We showed up on a busy Saturday morning for breakfast and we were given a 25 minute wait. 45 to 50 minutes later we checked in to find that we have been dropped off the list. I understand accidents happen but there was a table for six available and because we were a party of four they put us back on the waitlist for another 30 minutes. We ended up leaving without eating. In response You must've made a mistake. We were not the group that asked to remove someone from our party. Us 4 girls still wanted to eat breakfast. No one in our party had left. I had even mentioned earlier to the hostess that we were setting up front drinking while we waited for a table. I will change my review to three stars for contacting me. read more

We were craving hamburgers after a day of hiking in Red Rocks and had to find a pet friendly place. The Cows patio, a screened off concrete floored area out back, allows dogs. I grabbed the 1/3rd lb hamburger with cream cheese and bacon with an Egg Nog Chai latte and my friend had the BLT. Both were delicious! The latte was kids temp hot but still fantastic! I took off a star because they wouldn't allow my dog to have water on the patio. I'm not sure why but was told dogs couldn't eat or drink out there. Several other patrons had dogs too and the staff was good about not sitting the dogs right next to each other. read more
