Friendly service. Efficient. Good food and drinks. Dining inside and out. Clean and comfortable space. Quite delightful.

Bagels were very good. Service was nice. Lot of regulars every morning, that's a good sign. Would come back.

'No shoes, no shirt' is not applicable to this Venice local morning haunt. Acai bowls, sandwiches, bagels, pastries, coffee, matcha. They offer anything you could want pre-2pm. I like the vibe in here, I think there's a quieter study spot upstairs, but tables outside and some limited bar seating inside. I particularly like the open windows. The line and food service moved fairly quickly. The pastries were just ok, hence the 4 stars. I've had better, lighter, moister croissants and scones. The iced strawberry matcha was a bit too syrup-y, but nonetheless delicious. This spot is very reasonably priced by California standards and on a great street to walk around.

Cruising up Washington Street toward the Pacific (American?) Ocean, I spy a coffee shop with a half-dozen or so men of a certain age (viz. old) sitting outside. Thus, "The Old Guys Rule" is invoked. In we go. Busy, busy, busy. Good local vibe. The barista keeps the line moving. Coffee is very good. Pastries were just ok. The prepared burritos and açaí bowl looked good.

Adequate breakfast place. I had a wrap, my wife had a chocolate croissant, plus a very large coffee with milk for her and organic Earl Grey tea for me

Came here one Sunday on the earlier side for breakfast. A small, cramped ordering area with any bottled/canned drinks in the back. The guy at the counter taking orders came off a bit gruff at first, but quickly softened and recommended the avocado/egg-white toast. Seating's non-managed, so I just grabbed a table (alas, I had a family at the table behind me with a screaming toddler yelling in my ear the whole time, ugh). After a while I went back inside to see if they had my order ready, which they did. Food was good, but not that memorable (for breakfast you won't soon forget, I highly recommend Eggslut up the road!). Ate my food quickly and boogied outta there wishing I'd gone to Eggslut instead. :-(

Popular coffee pot on Washington in Venice Beach with a casual vibe with lots of locals. Picture a lot of gen x surfers, bare feet, dogs and a smattering of tourists. Coffee is decent, pastries subpar, but prepared food (bagels, sandwiches and salad) looked good.

We stopped here for brunch while renting bikes, and it was the perfect little spot to take a break. The area is super cute, though very busy, so expect some crowds. I got the Venice smoothie--it was good, but nothing mind-blowing. My date, on the other hand, got a bagel sandwich, and wow it was amazing! The bagel was huge, fluffy, and just perfect. Definitely had some food envy! Overall, a great brunch stop, especially if you're in the area and looking for something casual but tasty. I'd come back and try a bagel for myself next time!

Had a delicious iced mango matcha latte and sat inside the treehouse like space admiring the pothos growth crawling around the space. It's very quirky, with multiple levels and kind staff. Went right to the beach after!

We go here before our walks at Venice all the time. For my fiancé, it's one of her favorite strawberry matchas. For me, one of my favorite iced vanilla latte's. They also have a great assortment of baked goods. I got a sugar free churro donut and it was amazing. Highly recommend trying it if you're on the sugar free wave!

What a wonderful surprise…read more I live just around the corner from Jamaica Bay Inn, and for whatever reason, it took me far too long to finally have dinner here with family and friends. I wish I'd discovered it sooner. The restaurant overlooks Mother's Beach, and the setting is exactly what you'd hope for: peaceful, relaxed, and quintessential Marina del Rey. You almost expect the view to be the highlight... Then the food shows up. For appetizers, we shared the hummus plate and the calamari. Both were excellent. As someone whose kids were practically raised eating seafood around the ports of New England, calamari is one of those deceptively simple dishes we judge pretty harshly. Beachside absolutely passed the test. I ordered the cheeseburger, which was solid, but the real stars of the evening were the roasted Jidori chicken and the jumbo shrimp fettuccine. The chicken was perfectly juicy, something that sounds easy but surprisingly few restaurants consistently get right. The shrimp fettuccine completely stole the show. In fact, it's now become my daughter's regular takeout order, and she's easily the toughest pasta critic in our family. Congratulations... you've officially earned the title of our favorite pasta spot in the Marina. The service was another highlight. Our server spoke both German and Italian, had a great sense of humor, and made the evening feel warm and effortless. Between the location, the food, and the hospitality, I already know this is going to become one of our regular family dinner spots.

First let me say that Nahum, who helped us was excellent. The absolute perfect balance of checking on you but not overdoing it. If it weren't for Nahum, morning sun, and the breeze, I think we would have sent back our plates and left. Really. We didn't tell him there were any issues, because once the decision was made to stay, why ruin his holiday too? lol Ordered coffee. Dreadful. Ok, no big deal. The food came out and I could immediately SEE The Unappetizing . It's special when you can tell that your food is going to be bad before you take one bite. The French toast was Sahara dry, burned and flavorless. The chicken, was competing with it in the dry and flavorless category-- I really can't say which was worse. I don't really use hot sauce and I drowned the tenders in Cholula just to make it halfway edible. Literally we could have waited for the AMC chicken tenders and they would have been better, which is horrifying. Particularly when you try to avoid fried food in general and now you are poisoning your body for no good reason. Husband ordered a steak and eggs, medium well. I'll attach the picture and I'll let you be the judge of whether or not it was cooked properly. Eggs were not good either. Immediately, I gave hubby more than half my plate because he eats All of Everything that's put in front of him. Something would have to get up and walk off his plate for him to not eat it. He was taught not to waste food, period. The exception was steak so that he could take it home, cook it, and then eat it. This was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, and certainly on a special occasion. So many places we could have gone today that would have been a different experience, but it will never happen again. I was impressed by the freshness and quality of the food. Food also came out promptly. We started with the eggplant which was creamy and covered with fresh vegetables and herbs. The bay scallops came out in a sizzling pan, covered in delicious butter that was not too heavy - our server gave us extra bread for us to soak up the sauce, delicious! And our server helped make sure our pork chop arrived with the tomato salad we ordered to accompany it - the pork was extremely tender and tasted beautifully with the salad. The pot de creme dessert was average, would probably skip that next time. Overall, an absolutely lovely and relaxing place for dinner.

I reached out to the Gjelina team about my plastic experience and they were quick to not only take accountability but do a full-blown investigation, update their protocols, and invite me back to regain my trust. INVESTIGATION I was honestly take aback at the lengths they went to to ensure the utmost quality control. They shared that each pizza dough is individually wrapped for transport from their bakery, then assembled onsite. To make sure the plastic mishap doesn't happen again, they updated their protocol to ensure more supervisor and individual checkpoints from drop off to assembly to baking. ACCOUNTABILITY I was really appreciative of the general manager being so quick to respond and share what they were doing to understand the root of the issue AND how they could make it right. It was one thing to apologize, it's another to take action to ensure it doesn't happen again. It was evident to me then that they not only care about their business, but the customer experience as it relates to quality & safety. REBUILDING TRUST The general manager was kind enough to invite us back to have dinner on the house! Impressed by their measures to right their wrongs, I accepted and went to try some new things.... - Zucchini with zatar seasoning: fresh, great texture, good veggie starter - Hamachi Crudo: bright citrus light and delicious. Would've loved a little touch of blood orange to bring some more zing - Chorizo & Fennel Pizza: we braved the pizza again and it really was delicious. Super soft bubbles in the crust leading to a crispy yet soft bite. Amazing texture and flavor combinations - Duck Confit: WOW! I went with my French boyfriend and even he approved. Perfectly crispy skin, juicy cooked to perfection inside, and the grapes were a nice unexpected touch with the flavor profile. DO NOT SKIP! SO GOOD! - Wagyu beef cheek & burrata pasta: WOWOWW! This and the duck stole the show. The flavor was out of this world. Al dente pasta shells with the decadent sauce and creamy burrata. Magnificent! - Butterscotch Pot: delicious delightful, perfect for a touch of sweetness to finish the meal OVERALL There's a lot of great restaurants in LA but not all of them have service to match.
