Food here is horrible not the same anymore. We ordered 3 lbs shrimp Cajun mild. It was not mild. It was spicy seasoning soaked in boiled water and oil mixed is what it tasted like and looked like. Super brand. Also ordered the garlic clams. Super bitter, we didn't bother to finish it. Added sausages and corn to our shrimp order and the sausages are burnt. Why the heck are they burnt?? Aren't they normally steamed?? Corn tasted old and mushy. Definitely not coming back. Prices are ridiculous as always and food is not good anymore. The Crap Zone. Those five star yelps are FULL OF SHIT. After all of the hype, fake yelps.... husband and I ventured here the other night. I want a MOTHER FUCKING refund. This place is not well executed. The concept of it is 'almost' there.... maybe not even 'almost'. Why I feel bad about writing this, I don't know. It is awful. We walked into an almost full restaurant... I thought, 'this is a good sign'. But people had weird looks on their faces. Now I know why. We received the crab... the shitty fried rice and then the crawfish. All about 10 minutes APART. Maybe they have only one burner in the back? 7. the crab was NOT a whole crab... it was 34.99 for fucking legs and a hollowed out shell. I could've gotten more at Costco. AND have you ever tried to eat crab legs with a plastic fork? 8. styrofoam plates, yes we ate off of styrofoam plates, in the restaurant.... they just LOVE the environment, don't they? I could go on and on.... but I am trying to wipe this horrible experience from my memory. If there was a glimmer of hope and a slight beam of light for improvement, then I wouldn't be so harsh... but I couldn't even imagine giving this place another dime or minute of my time. You guys really need to get OFF your high horse, because this place is just fine -_- There's even decor that you could tell they put effort into! Lol. I don't know about all the negative reviews for The Crab Zone but I've NEVER EVER had a bad experience here. I am a crawfish fanatic and have introduced all my friends to eating at crawfish restaurants and have tried all the places in surrounding cities, Sacramento, San Jose, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas and although other places may have good things about them, to me hands down Crabzone is my favorite! I always order the crawfish HOT extra garlic, extra butter, shrimp HOT extra garlic, extra butter, a large order of garlic noodles, sausages and corn in both, accompanied with a beer and it has always been perfect! The burst of flavor that savors in your mouth is like none I have ever experienced before. I ordered the crab maybe 3-4 times and the house sauce, with the butter and garlic is to die for! I am a crawfish fan so I will always stick to the cajun hot flavor that just melts my heart. I'm not sure why people have gotten bad service here but I'm a regular and have always had superb service every time I come. To the comment about them running out of crawfish, it's not because they don't order enough or on time, it's because of the distributor in Louisiana. I'd rather have them be honest and tell me they're out then have them serve me frozen crawfish like other places and have me taste it and call them out on it any day! I take them right back and they refused to fix their mistake. You'd think customer service during this time of COVID would mean something. Came here with the cravings for crab but that quickly went away when we learned their price for crab was $39.00/EACH.The Boiling Crab in Sacramento charges $12/lb for their dungeoness crab that average about 2 lbs each (I called). I asked TCZ how many lbs would the crab be and they said it's about 2 lbs. Is this because The Crab Zone is the only restaurant of it's kind in Stockton? They need a competitor asap. It's so expensive! We decided to give it a try anyways despite being aware they are overpriced. - 1 lb crawfish - cajun sauce - mild - 1 lb shrimp - cajun sauce - mild - 2 corns - cajun fried rice - garlic noodle I do give their cajun sauce was really good. Very buttery taste and the mild was perfectly hot, yet not uncomfortable. The waiter mentioned that their scale of hotness is a bit off than the average. FREE WATER!!! They don't charge you .25cents like Boiling Crab for water. I felt like the shrimp was overcooked so it was hard to peel. I got one pound which didn't seem like a pound. I had the headless shrimp, blue crawfish, king crab. All half pound portions that would feed two or three. You will need a bib and plastic-gloves. The last time I came it was randomly before the holidays and according to yelp they should have been open. We were very curious about this crab restaurant because of the up and down reviews on Yelp. This restaurant is located in a North Stockton shopping center next to a paint store. As we walked nearer to the front door we couldn't help but to notice the multiple negative signs of "no loitering, no shirt or shoes no service", "restrooms for customers only, etc. After entering, were a bit over whelmed with the high volume of the hip hop music being played at nightclub DJ levels. Okay, we are seniors but it was the volume, not the music that bothered us. But anyway, let's get on to the food which is the real reason why we tried this restaurant. Appetizers on the menu looked good with calamari, shrimp, oysters on the list. Chicken wings and fish n chips are also listed. But the main items are crab choices of course. Two choices are Dungeness crab and King crab. Dungeness is sold by the whole crab because they are alive in tank and commands a high price like dry aged beef does. I decided on the mighty King crab legs and I had a choice of about 5 sauces to accompany it. I chose the house sauce which turned out to be a tasty blend of melted butter, a bunch of garlic, pepper, and something else to taste just heavenly with the perfectly prepared King crab leg. My wife chose the headless shrimp which came out piping hot in a bowl of red broth. She marveled at the large size and freshness of her shrimp. Her large size portion she ordered was too much for her to finish so we took it home. She also was happy at her garlic noodles that went well with her shrimp. What a disappointment! I'm so sad I have to give this place two stars from the five I gave them in the beginning! No flavor! I don't care that the crawfish is small, or the shrimp is slightly over cooked, but damn! I drive all the way out here specifically for the flavor!
